If it didn't have calories, right now I would eat...

One of the things I used to hate about WW was that at meetings, people would sit around and talk about what they were going to eat when they reached their goal - isn't that kind of defeating the purpose of making a life style change? I don't say that I will never eat a juicy cheeseburger (with fries)again, but I don't think it serves my purpose to sit around and ogle pictures of it when I am trying to make a lifestyle change.
But to each his own, I guess.
I eat the stuff that's on here all the time. I just find a way to fit it into my calories. Either smaller portions, a lot more exercise, smaller meals throughout they, or a combination. So far I'm down 185lbs, because I made the lifestyle change to realizing that I don't have to give up anything I love, just eat normal sized portions.
Besides, some of us see this and think... Oh that looks good, lemme go look that up to see how I can fit that into my diet!
Same here some of these things I actually plan to fit in and try like those bbq chips etc3 -
I would love some hush puppies and biscuits & gravy right now. (Gravy not pictured as it is not very pretty).

I had that for dinner once this week and leftover for lunch the next day.1 -
Right this second I wouldn't eat anything. I am full. Cheesecake is usually my answer, though.2

Too much honesty for you? Yes, I can see the thrill of looking at pictures of the stuff that got me here in the first place. Cheeseburgers, cheesecake, Dairy Queen ice cream, a really good french bread warm, with butter, pastas with a rich red sauce. This is not my first diet - and in the past, as soon as I started, I craved that which I couldn't have and before long, I would give in.
I believe the OP mentioned food porn in the very first post. If that is a trigger, don't open the thread.3 -
I had this big reply written out and then hit the stupid done button.
If I could not regularly incorporate this kind of stuff, what's the point? I can see eliminating trigger foods while you work to get portions and food habits under control, but not having treats would not be sustainable for me at all. I have lost 20 lbs so far. I have been eating ice cream, baked goods, fast food, pizza, fried food and the like the whole time. Sometimes they didn't even fit my day, or even my week! The thing that got me overweight was eating too much stuff like that too frequently. So now I just eat less. I still have all that food weekly. I just balance it out with foods that are less calorie dense. I feel like food that is good for the soul, is just as important as food that is good for the body.
And now back to your regularly scheduled program...5 -
For the cookie butter lovers... these are ridiculous. The good news is they are so rich I really couldn’t eat more than two in a sitting...

Holy crap. This is a thing? If this was a cake instead with the peanut butter being a tad bit thinner in ratio to chocolate cake and chocolate chunks spread throughout.. I think I'll faint after a bite.
I'm showing this to my baker friend. I want this in my life.5 -

That one caught my eye too and I bet the filling is a peanut butter, cream cheese and powdered sugar concoction so I bet it tastes a little like cheesecake - so I think I would prefer it this way to a more traditional cake texture.4 -

And some people don't. I eat many of the things pictured in this thread, in quantities that fit my goals. In fact, I'm very much looking forward to those steak nachos this weekend
I eat many of the things also. But this thread is not about eating them responsibly. No single thin slices of pie here; so single servings of anything. Many of the replies are 1000+ calorie items. On top of that, it's all in good fun; pretty much everyone in this thread knows they can have these things in moderation, instead of something else and/or with a little bump in the road of losing or a need to go low for a day or few if in maintenance.2 -

I'm having various feelings about this that range from "oh hell, yeah!" to "way too dangerous" to "does the chick who put this together know she can buy the chocolate covered pretzel thins at Trader Joe's too?"1 -

Speak for yourself, I've been known to "bank" and extra 250 calories for 4 days just to have the 1000 calorie burger! I do stay over 1200/day though even when I "bank" my calories.5 -

Agreed! Sometimes I need the 1000 calorie burger (mentally if not physically).
I understand that other people have different triggers and deal with them in their own way. I'm just confused as to why someone would wade into what is obviously a food porn thread and complain about it being a food porn thread :ohwell:5 -

Yes, I'm still following this thread..
ETA: I bought it one time and ate it all..frozen..in one sitting. It's that good. Can't buy it anymore.
@kelly_c_77 same! There's a brownie version too, but I haven't tried that one yet.0 -

Yeah, I heard that there's a brownie one..but I haven't seen it. That's mainly because I have to ignore the Cool Whip section in the stores now though..1 -

Maybe because, like with the other kind of porn, the person doth protests too much.2 -
I would eat the rest of the cherries and the fresh blueberries, fruits have too many damn sugar calories.1

You are agreeing with me. By banking calories, you ate it instead of something else.2 -
If/when you vacation near NY City, book a reservation at Delmonico's, just for thier Baked Alaska. It was invented there and is absolutely AMAZING!!!!! The absolute most divine dessert I have ever had, and dessert is my favorite part of any meal, including breakfast (had a Tim Tam for breakfast dessert)0 -
I would eat an entire block of Lindt salted caramel dark chocolate. Chocolate really hits the spot when I am in a bad mood.
