I would love to hear everyone’s exact plan for their weight loss and fitness goals as we go along. I know a lot of great ideas may come of these readings.
@deepwoodslady Like you, I really enjoy reading about everyones' plans. Mine is as streamlined as I can make it because I won't follow a strict/convoluted plan.
1. Maintain a weekly deficit with focus on more veggies, fruits, and protein
2. Avoid binge trigger foods
3. No food after work
I don't plan workouts because I won't do them. At 53 I'm not about to change that mindset. Vehemently HATE (can't stress that word enough) workout sessions. I won't go for a walk unless someone is counting on me to join them. I walk plenty at work. In short, if it doesn't feel like I'm playing, it's not gonna happen.2 -
@quiltingjaine, I hope that cold you have goes away soon! Lol. No, I will not be baking any cookies. No one at my house needs to be eating them. In my young life, I baked dozens and dozens of cookies to give as holiday gifts. Cheesecakes, carrot cakes, chocolate cakes, coconut cakes, pound cakes. Through with that. Since I've been on keto, I don't want any sweets. The three cupcakes and three slices of cake. (yes, I know the exact number) I've had since the Spring have not made me want to continue eating sweet. I can't even eat an entire cupcake at one time, too sweet. I sometimes have cookies for the Grands, but I don't want any. A milestone for me!7

9/16 -- OK -- weighed in this morning and BIG SURPRISE! 126.4.... But I'm only being facetious in my disdain -- I am very happy and THANKFUL to be back in the 120's again (I spent most of the summer in the 130's...) SO...let the losing begin again! I hope to get to 124 by the end of these 10 days.... I'll even take 124.9! Good Sunday everyone!

9/16 151.6 Thankfully due to this challenge I know I didn't gain 2 lbs of fat overnight. I went to Mexican food yesterday and totally enjoyed my taco, rice, beans and some chips. Though the quantity was small, this was the real authentic stuff, cooked with manteca and oh so worth it! I expect this to disappear within the next 2 days. Super hydration and low carb is the plan today, as well as a hilly walk with my pups. I increased my daily calories from 1200 to 1400 and my goal is to STAY within this window for the rest of this challenge. Have a great Sunday everyone!

Cucumber too! Just make a pitcher of infused water. Lemon and cucumber slices or lemon and parsley. If you have adventurous tastebuds, all three. Drink it cold or warm.7 -

@Snowflake1968 Have you discovered the roadblock to your fatness fat loss progress? If so let us know; I'm confident we can help with some suggestions.
Yes too much food, not enough exercise. I am an incredibly fussy eater and I find it harder when cool weather hits to force myself to eat lighter.
@Snowflake1968 Please accept my sincerest apologies for not catching the inappropriate autocorrect of "fat loss." I was mortified when I spotted it.
I'm a comfort food person. Stew, chili, lasagna, pasta, and more. I've managed to tweak recipes so the calories are a lot less per serving. I've also substituted rice/noodles, mashed potatoes, and tortillas with finely shredded cabbage, spinach, zucchini, mashed garlic cauliflower, and lettuce leaves which saves over 100 calories per serving. I've even asked restaurants to use lettuce leaves instead of corn tortillas for street tacos and a bed of spinach leaves for chicken piccata and marsala instead of noodles or rice.
It's easier for me to stick with my food plan if I can enjoy my comfort foods.6 -

@tiabirdie56 I bet that would make a nice hot drink after I get off of work. When it gets cooler I crave hot milk or cocoa. I've tried subbing almond, flax, and light coconut milk; it's just not the same. Cocoa is loaded with sugar, unless I make it from scratch, but after work that isn't going to happen. Lol0

@jerier, There is an online company that I used to buy protein hot chocolate from. Similar to medifast, but cheaper. I'm going to try to locate the name to order some for this winter. It's tastes very good, to me. I'll let you know when I find it.
Wonderslim. Just thought of it. Satisfies your sweet tooth and chocolate craving and it's protein.2 -

Day/Weight/Comment
9/15 – 180.0 Hello everyone! As I get nearer to my weight loss goals I am transitioning this round to 20-50 net carbs per day with the intent of staying in a fat burning mode. I am keeping my calorie goal the same which is 1277. My original goals when I started my journey in January 2018 was to lose 8-10 pounds per month . My newest goals are to lose 1.5 pounds per week, 6 pounds per month. I am carrying a bit of water weight from a travel day earlier this week. However, at my general weight I am 30 pounds from my complete goal weight with approx 60 pounds lost. My ticker will reflect this when I shed the water back off. Yesterday I stayed within calorie goal but went quite a bit over on my carb goal. As my business slows down I find I am walking a lot less and will have to build in more planned exercise and intentional walking. In the end, my hope is to reach 145 pounds by Valentine’s Day. I am building in an 8 pound cushion as I expect to gain a bit of water weight when transitioning to higher carbs and calories. My final goal would be to weigh about 153. I then intend to keep my carbs and calories in a maintenance level to help keep my T2D in control or in remission. I would love to hear everyone’s exact plan for their weight loss and fitness goals as we go along. I know a lot of great ideas may come of these readings. Good luck everyone on this round!
9/16 - 178.8Took two walks yesterday, both brisk. One was 1.5 miles, one was shorter. I got my son out there for the longer walk which totally bores him but really helps his weight loss. I love it when he is a good sport! Calories and carbs were a little low but I know there will be overages during my travel this week, so I’m pre-assessing and pre-preparing for the damage. I know that slow and steady wins the race, but I severely retain water when eating sodium filled foods (which is nearly everything outside of my plan), so I’m trying to drop a pound before Tuesday. I am also following my body’s cues and only eat when hungry. Yesterday was a day when I did not seem to need much. I may be hungrier today because of it, but I will stick to plan. Lots of work today for my home business so that will help fill the hours. My brother next door will be having a big BBQ today for his friends and bringing over food. I will refrain from it and just have my son and his friend eat it up. My dinner will be low carb and low calorie. I will save the splurges for Tuesday’s travels, but even then, I will try not to go crazy or turn Tuesday night at home into a total binge night. Often I think since I’ve already “cheated” I might as well fit in everything I have been craving. Those carbs and calories really add up fast. So I continue to work on this destructive mentality.

@tiabirdie56 Do you happen to know or remember if the net carb count is pretty good? Drs. orders: I need extra protein for my body and my hair loss problem.1 -
@jerier I was cracking up at your autocorrect! Thanks @tiabirdie56 and @jerier for the reminder about parsley/cucumber/lemon water - on it! I am a baker as well and cannot bake at home. It starts as "for the kids" and ends badly every time. I love the batter, the doughs, the finished product...and unfortunately I have some really great recipes! Like you @tiabirdie56 no one (except my too thin 16yo) in my house needs to eat sweets. My DH and two older sons are less active than they should be and love to eat.1

@jerier Thanks for sharing your goals and plan to get there. You've got some great ideas on how to face your demons while staying on plan. I always enjoy your posts.
@BBisrat Wow! You are doing fantastic. What a great way to start this round.
@LinCharpentier Welcome to you and that "young" heart of yours. The mentality has so much to do with it, so you I am sure you probably are younger than your biological age. I can learn a lot from you and look forward to your posts.
@awesomealisa Welcome. These is so much information on this forum and so many people that have been helping me during my journey. I just know you will love this forum!
@SheilaBoneham Congratulations on making your overall goal! You've come such a long way. I appreciate you sharing your success. You are inspiring.
@quiltingjaine I lost my husband (2nd hubby) 2 years ago after a long and trying illness. I miss him every....single....day..... I'm now 58 yrs old and starting to get lonely. I hope someday I can back into the ring and find somone to share out the rest of my life with. I hope someday to find my own Carl. In the meantime, thanks for sharing a little bit of yours. He sounds wonderful.
@tiabirdie56 Thanks for the tips on shedding the water. I tried the lemon parsley water the other day and I peed twice during the same cup! It really worked. I will also have to try the cucumber. Especially this time of year when veggies are so cheap and easy to find.8 -

Be sure to read the ingredients and the nutrient profile. There are a couple of things in the ingredients that do not make me happy, but I only drank it as a sweet treat once in a while at the end of the day. Two boxes, 14 packets, would last me all winter.0 -
