(((Heather))) Thinking of you & your move. I hope things go smoothly. I love the photo of the moving trucks.
Sarah: Welcome to a great group of women. Stop by often and get to know us. :flowerforyou:
Kim: I love your choice of Halloween costumes. A Scarecrow is perfect!!!
Rebecca: Your Christmas rules are a bit harsh for me. 1 & 2 are great, but 3—— :noway:
Ginger: Good lluck!!!
(((Lisa)))
Michele: I don’t ever make fudge because if I do, I’ll eat every last bite. I occasionally buy a small square and enjoy myself. Portion control is my friend. :flowerforyou:
Margaret: When we travel I order carefully. Salad with dressing “on the side’ is a great strategy for me. I can stay in control that way.
Yoga today!!! YAY!!! I’m not sure what else we’ll put into the day.

Thanks for the welcome ladies!
Cindy - I know all about binges! I was fine with my calories until later in the evening then I went way over! I need to get a grip on my sweet tooth. Maybe I can ask the dentist to pull it

Hello, I’m back, or around!
I’ve been preoccupied with wearing a heart monitor, going to the neurologist, doctor appts and Hurricane Michael that hit my daughter’s house! And on top of that I had a planned trip to Vegas with my girlfriends!! I couldn’t cancel on them.
1. I have to take meds now for tachycardia. That’s going well.
2. The neurologist is giving me another test on Friday then I’m being referred back to my neurosurgeon for a second back surgery, fusion.
3. Jessica‘s house had trees fall on it and it requires some repairs. She’s going to move back in as she’s been and Dustin since the hurricane. The insurance company paid for a condo there and had the trees removed. The tree removal was $19,000.
4. The trip to Las Vegas was lots of fun ate too much and drank too much!! Although we only eat two meals a day brunch and dinner so it must be the alcohol that put 5 pounds on me! LOL
I am adding some pictures for y’all to see. I also created a go fund me page for Jessica so far we’ve raised $2300 for her. Her job is gone and she’s been trying to get more clients around Destin because most of her clients in Panama City are in the same boat as she.

The tree hit right above Zech’s bedroom. I’m happy they left.

. Update: I made the fudge with unflavored gelatin. I used 4 pkgs to one cup of water. It looks like it’s setting up. Of course, I have to give it more time. We shall see how it holds up out of the refrigerator. I’m thinking that the chocolate will reharden, but I don’t know that for a fact. We shall see….. Update Update: it came out very rubbery, like jello. Reminded me of the time I made chocolate marshmallows. I think I’ll tell Vince they’re marshmallows because if I tell him it’s fudge, he may not eat it. It doesn’t have the “creamyness” of the fudge you get in the store. I wonder if next time I need to add heavy cream and whip the cream/chocolate or maybe just the cream.

Michele -- I am far from an expert, but I can't make fudge without a candy thermometer. Are you using one and making sure you get the fudge to the correct temperature? Candy won't cool to the proper consistency if the temperature is too hot (too hard and sugary) or too low (won't set.) Just my two cents, for what it's worth, which, really, considering this is baking advice, it really isn't worth much at all! Lol
Felicia, who comes from a long line of expert home bakers/cooks, but it all kind of died with me.

Guys gone. They've left us the living room stuff and our bed. Boy, do they work hard. They all have bad backs!
While they were here I binge watched tv and managed to change my address on two bank accounts and one credit card. So that's three less things to do. Might do Amazon as well.
The big lorry is still here and they will be back before 8.30 in the morning. Then a quick load up (they still haven't done the exercise machines ) and we are gone.

So excited for you Heather!!💗. Moving is stressful, but I have moved so many times, I have to look at it as nothing but good. Just be flexible, soon your new routines, those ones that keep you grounded will fall into place.💗
Moving day for me has always been a bit like Christmas morning!

Love these!

Heather too too exciting (and overwhelming). I know you've got a box of bedding ready to set up the bed first thing, you will sleep well tonight, fingers crossed
Kelly There are plenty of ways to make yogurt without the instant pot. I am such a convert to homemade yogurt, couldn't stand to eat the store brands anymore. Keep an eye on Black Friday sales at Amazon and Walmart, the instantpots can go as low at $69 during holiday times. It is a really great resource for cooking quickly and fast meals.....sorry I will got off my infomercial now!
Sending strength to all who need it.

Wow 196 posts to catch up on since I looked in last Wednesday! I have read everyone's but will only be able to respond to a few.
Kelly - The government of Canada is talking about instituting a federal holiday in honour of Indigenous People, the last I heard they are talking about it being in June.
Lisa- Don't you just love how some higher ups try to count the travelling they require you to do to be part of a benefit. My last company tried that on me a couple of times, they didn't understand how much I love being at home. It certainly wasn't a benefit in my book, very long days when they included breakfast and late dinner meetings plus the travel time. It seems you have a good handle on it now though. Hope you find what is best for you.
Barbara - I chuckled about the liar as a youth. I too, lied as a teenager to get my own way I learned the hard way this was not the best way to get through life though. As a youngster I, according to my grandmother, told tall tales. I remember one in particular. I grew up near the headquarters of McCain's foods. My grandfather, Dad and Uncles actually built the brother's houses. My Dad was telling this story about the new jet that McCain's had just bought, I was in grade 1 so 6 years old. My Dad told how he had watched it land and how impressive it was to see this jet land at the back of a farmer's field where a runway had been built. I piped up and told this tale of how the jet had landed in my school yard as well right where we played hopscotch. I laugh about it now, but I remember being very affronted that they didn't believe my story.
Allie- It sure is hard saying good bye to our childhood homes. My brother had to tear my parents house down this summer. I wasn't able to get there to see it a final time. It will surely be different pulling in the driveway and it not being there. My brother lives on the property still in his own house. He planted a tree where our parent's house used to be.
I don't know your whole history with Tom, but to me if it makes you happy to do for him you should do it.
Rebecca - You mentioned your middle son's marriage when they were young. My husband and I met when I was 13 and he was 17. I knew then that I loved him. My Dad disapproved and we ended up breaking up. We both went our own ways for a few years but at 18 I met up with him again in January and we were married by June. We have been married 31 years now and even though there have been struggles I have never faltered in my love for him.
My best friend is the oldest of 3 girls. They also have an older brother, but we don't count him a lot LOL The middle sister in her family is a minister's wife, doesn't drink or anything, but will visit at home and only visit their mother and friends not the other siblings. They have questioned her about it and she doesn't seem to have any answers. Maybe it's something about being the middle child and the alcohol just adds to it.
Heather - Dutch Elm is a fear here, and trees are dying from it. In Jasper and Banff the trees are being killed by the Mountain Pine Beetle. It is sad to see really. I can't not get over your real estate WAIT - WAIT - WAIT - GO, GET OUT! It's taken months to know it was all going to happen and then a week to move! Crazy!
Kim - I was a scarecrow for Halloween once, thanks for that memory. I wore my Grandfather's old overalls and lumberman's jacket. I used straw though and scratched all day at school!
Ginger - Good Luck with your digital diet. I don't think I could do it it is how I keep in contact with a lot of family in NB. The local radio station last week was talking about having Social Free Sunday's a lot of people said they are doing this and finding more peace.
We had our first craft market of the season on the weekend. It was a huge success! We sold out of almost all of our best sellers and I was fearful that sales would dwindle, but people bought some of our not so best sellers. All told we sold 191 ornaments! It was our biggest profit show to date. I used some of the profit to order business cards last night instead of printing and cutting my own. I have better ways to use my time. I am so incredibly grateful while at the same time feeling a little overwhelmed if this is an indication of the rest of the season. Rodger cut the rest of the wood we have this afternoon giving us 300 pieces, we are going tonight to buy more wood.

Hello all: It has been a cloudy day but just had a burst of rain. Glad the horses were mostly finished with their afternoon hay. Got some things done outdoors and am going to try sewing up a hay net that the horses have torn. Went to what was supposed to be an organ concert in Everett last night but after we got there they announced that the organ which had been used that morning was now not working. The organ tech was working on it and they had the reception first instead of after but during that they announced that the organ could not be fixed and the concert was cancelled. Boo! Drove home then.
Must go find last year's tax return. DH has been diagnosed with terminal liver cancer. Co-pay on chemo drug to stabilize the cancer not cure it is $3000 per month. We are applying for help with this as cannot afford it on our own. I really hate this kind of thing. Meeting with these people makes me really anxious.
Heather - Happy moving day! finally.
Snowflake - Congrats on the sales.
Dana - Good to see you again.
Rebecca - Love the decorations.
Everyone take care, Sue in WA9 -

Sue - I am so sorry to hear about your DH's liver cancer and the high cost of co-pay for the chemo, wow. Is he on Medicare?
Crossing fingers he'll qualify for assistance on this.

Sue - So sorry to hear about your DH. Prayers and hugs for you both.

Sue .... so very sorry to hear of your husband's health situation. Praying you can get assistance with the financial end of things, but more importantly that you get support from those around you as you go through the days and weeks ahead ... hugs.

Sue: So sorry to hear of DH's diagnosis. Hope you can find appropriate subsidy for the chemo. Will you also explore other therapeutic options?
Heather: Happy moving day. So excited for you. Can hardly wait to see photos of your new home and city. I agree with whoever said that reading about Shirley's condition gives new perspective to our travails.
Dana: The photos of your daughter's home are heart-breaking. I can't even imagine what it's like to live through such an upheaval of your life. ((Hugs))
All good here. I woke up with a headache probably triggered by my upstairs neighbor painting, so make DH his breakfast, then went back to sleep for an extra 2 hours. It was a bright 75 degree day today, but tomorrow is dropping to the 30's, with rain and possibly snow. We leave for Mexico on Sunday, and I am chomping at the bit to go.
Stay well friends. We can do this!
