**UPDATE 10/11/18 My original goal was my last WW goal 137, when I got there I decided to give myself a couple of pounds for fluctuations. I had noted that my high school weight was 125 which, at that time, weight charts said was about 20# too much but pictures from high school do not show that. So I am not stressing about what I weigh, I’m sticking to my plan and still losing. I’m curious to see where this takes me. I have thought about going to the gym and have been joining a friend to walk the treadmill a couple of times a week. When we get home from this trip, I may get serious. What we need to succeed is a sustainable way of eating, not a DIET we go on and off.
This is NOT A DIET. It’s a LIFESTYLE.
10/05 131.0
10/06 131.5 Leaving for OK
10/07 NWI Travel day, miserable weather for car travel! Pouring so hard we slowed to 40MPH a couple of times and spent about 20 minutes at a convenience store so DH could relax.
10/08 130.0 New low
10/09 130.0
10/10 129.5 Another new low
10/11 130.0
10/12 128.5 ANOTHER new low! I have not been snacking, OMAD - eating out at lunch while DD is at work. She is off for 4 days and currently sleeping in. The only other change has been stevia in coffee instead of SF syrups.7 -
Something that's been on my mind and I'm stressing about is the idea of loose skin. The thought of working so long and hard on losing weight, only to have loose skin all over my body and still hate how I look terrifies me to my core. I can't imagine that I would ever have the money for a body lift so it's not as simple as "just get surgery if you have loose skin". I keep thinking to myself "I'd rather just be fat than to work so hard and still be left with something that makes me unhappy with my appearance" but then I try to remind myself that it's not all about looks. It's about being healthy. Not getting diabetes (which runs heavily in my family). Being able to run around with my son more. Being able to walk distances without my legs and feet killing me.. If anyone has something informative or uplifting in regards to this, I would appreciate hearing it.
Give Elderly You a huge gift of MOBILITY. Sure, there will be loose skin. Your joints will thank you a thousand times if you don't lug that extra baggage into old age. It is great to be a MOM, but one day you may get to be a grandmother and wouldn't you like to be the one who can actually do things with those children? Not to mention that a smaller you has a better chance of living to be elderly in the first place.
We can do this!9 -
5'7" 31 year old female
Start Weight: 166lb
Round 54: End Weight 164.2lb (1.8lb loss)
Goal Weight: 140
Goals for the next round will be to be more consistent with my exercise, dial in the nutrition a bit more and try to make it through Thanksgiving without a gain. Any loss will do
Day/Weight/Comment
10/05 - 164.2
10/06 - 164.4 Probably at least some salt from Thursday. Had a good day today. Went for a long walk with hubs and pup and ate ok. Baked pumpkin pie in the evening and had a slice that put me over calories. Also, didn't get my run in... but the walk more than made up for that.
10/07 - 164.6 Thanksgiving dinner today. Not going to stress about counting calories, thanksgiving comes but once a year and we worked too hard cooking and baking not to enjoy it.
10/08 - 166.4 Ugh. Not surprised. Did get my run in yesterday though. Leftovers today but I have a day off work so have decided to do one more day not counting calories. Back to brass tax tomorrow.
10/09 - 167.8 Holy crap. That's a new high! I did wake up queasy this morning which usually means I'm dehydrated. I said my goal this round was not to gain so I have the rest of the week to get back to where I started. Meal planning isn't as good as I would like this week as we have so many bits an pieces in the fridge that need to be used up before they go bad.
10/10 - 167.4 Was really hoping it would be down a bit more *shrug*. Had a headache all day yesterday so didn't run in the evening. I did drink lots and lots of water though, must continue that today. Made an epic turkey pie with the last of the leftovers. Tastes so good but I'm sure it's full of salt (I did also use a little cream in it... because we had some leftover). Still crossing my fingers I can get back to my start weight by Sunday.
10/11 - 165 Wahoo. Glad it's moving in the right direction. 1 more pound to start of round weight. Got my run in last night and ate ok. Had half a bagel after dinner because I was still so hungry. Didn't drink as much water as I should. Must drink more water today.
10/12 - 164.6 Still moving in the right direction. Fingers crossed it continues for the next 2 days. Yesterday wasn't great. I've realised that if my meals are too small I snack on whatever is around... and in my workplace whatever is around is candy, cookies or chips. Brought a more substantial lunch today.

@frida001 I don't know what exactly is going on with your neck but there are tons of videos on YouTube that help with stretching when it comes to neck and shoulders pain...maybe they might help. Im sure even on the site darebee there are stretches for those pains as well. I hope the pain subsides soon ❤
@ssssanaaaa that looks absolutely delicious!!!!
@rainykatie cut yourself a break. It seems you have a lot going on so take it easy on yourself. Jump on the healthy eating train again and take everything else in strides. You got this!!4 -

Ultimate GOAL: 130's
Day/Weight/Comment
10/05 150.6 I'm experiencing a lot of fluctuation in my weight. I might need to change the battery on my scale. I definitely need to drink more water.
10/06 150.6 Had a party for my husband and son's birthdays. I was careful. over 11, 500 steps!
10/07 150.4
10/08 148.6 I expected more water retention since I've been snacking on nuts and pickled cauliflower. I was also stuck at my desk grading all day yesterday, but my son took me on a short walk to watch the Space X launch.
10/09 147.6 I was good until dinner. I made Armenian mac n cheese for my husband's birthday. I didn't go overboard though.
10/10 149.0 Again, I was good all day until I stepped into my meeting. I was eating my salad and then got stressed by the conversation. I ate 5 pieces of candy. Then I came home to grading and ate more. I need to handle my stress better. For some reason, when I get to the 147 mark, I sabotage myself.
10/11 150.6 Neck an shoulder muscles were cramping. I was in so much pain last night that I was crying. Food doesn't make the pain go away. I'm wondering if being dehydrated contributed to the muscles cramping.
10/12 150.6 Thank you, @abowersgirl . I have a torn labrum in my shoulder and the surrounding muscles are overcompensating. Muscle relaxers are helping with the pain, but I'm feeling very uncoordinated. I need to at least walk to keep my body loose. Lots of water and 10,000 steps are my goal today.

10/05 – 171.2 lbs Been very slow after the huge losses I had in my last three rounds. Went to the gym today and had a really good workout with my physical therapist. I work out 3 times a week now, and this feels like the perfect amount of workouts for me now. Been having a lot of issues with the mobile app lately, so I haven't been tempted to struggle with forum posts everyday. So slow and it's crashing all the time Been logging everyday and staying under my calorie goal since the last time I was participating in this challenge. I have been weighing once a week, was kinda nice to have a break from the daily weigh-ins. I have also chosen to open my diary to friends to hold my self accountable.
10/06 - 170.1 (-1.1) Had to step on the scale 3 times to make sure this was right 😂 Awesome!
10/07 - 170.4 (+0.3) A small bump up from yesterday. Not worried, still a huuge loss in 2 days. Ate a lot of sodium yesterday, so it’s probably just water :-) a mini goal for the day is that I’m gonna drink a minimum of 4 glasses of water today.
10/08 - 169.3 (-1.1) Whooosh! I’m seeing the number 6 and I am so happy! 😃 I did complete the mini goal I set for myself yesterday and I’m gonna set a new one for today. My minigoal for the day is to go to the gym and do some cycling, strength training and core training (for atleast 30 min). Good to see that my little plateau is ending and I’m just whooshing. My weight has been standing very still since R51.. but I have stayed under my calorie goal even if I have had a small break from these challenges. Sometimes the scale won’t budge for a while and I get a big whoosh after. Can be really demotivating to see that the scale is standing still, so it’s just a fabulous feeling when I whoosh like this 👌🏻
10/09 - 167.9 (-1.4) !! 😃
10/10 - 167.3 (-0.6) Now I finally dare to say that I reached my goal this round And it’s great to finally see number 6 on the scale everyday!
10/11 - 167.3 (--) No change today It is that time of the month for me today, so I suspect that I will see a small bump up tomorrow.
10/12 - 167.3 (--) Whaat! No change today either. Was really expecting a bump up this morning, so this is good news!

Round 55
10/05: 269.6 (-0.8) Yay! So happy to see that 2nd digit go down, now to keep it there for the rest of this round. 1223 calories, 104g protein, 56oz water
10/06: 269.8 (+0.2) Went to my parents and swam laps and did water aerobics. I actually enjoy doing this, why don't I do it more often??? 1267 calories, 100g protein, 52oz water
10/07 269.4 (-0.4) Had a really big lunch out, not really bad stuff (cobb salad, small piece of cauliflower crust pizza & 3 wings) but not great either and more than I've been eating. Not certain about the calories - just had to pick what I thought off the MFP food log. So just had Special K protein water & and a small pkg pumpkin seeds for dinner 1566 calories, 118g protein, 54oz water
10/08 269.4 (no change) glad to it didn't go up! 1375 calories, 115g protein, 69oz water
10/09 267.8 (-1.6) this was a nice surprise to see! My free trial & trainer month at the other gym is up so I went to the YMCA. Trying to apply what I learned at the other gym but the machines are somewhat different. But I'm trying and that is a step in the right direction for me. Worked arms + rode bike for 30 min. 1215 calories, 65g protein, 71oz water
10/10 267.6 (-0.2) was fearful that it would go back up some so this was nice to see. Our cat died during the night. She was the last of the menagerie. When we got married, I had 1 cat and my husband moved in with a dog, 2 cats, 3 soft furred African rats, and fish. Now as my 4 year old put it this AM, the only pets we have left are fish. Lots of tears at my house this morning. Had originally planned to go to the gym after work, but had a burial and just needed the time with my family. 1256 calories, 108g protein, 52oz water
10/11 268.6 (+1.0) not happy with the number but it's still down from the beginning of the round. So long as I keep at it, it will come back down. Working from home and have to take the 18mo old to doctor today. I have a harder time drinking enough water when I'm at home so that is going to be my big push today. 1350 calories, 85g protein, 51oz water
10/12 267.4 (-1.2)

🍁Day/Weight/Comment🍁
10/5 175.8 - I went to a family gathering last night and food was potluck style and I chose the healthiest I could and I did have a piece of fudge too. 🙂
10/06 178.2 - Oh wow. So TOM has started. And I over ate last night. I was tired and I realized I was snacking because I was tired, but I still did it. Today, I'll stay on track.
10/07 176.4 - Whew! Yesterday was a good day. I was a little under on calories and I was under on my step goal. I did do some resting yesterday which was nice and we took a family trip out to a pumpkin patch. Overall it was a nice day! Happy Thanksgiving to our Canadian friends!
10/08 177.2 - Hmmm...🤔 water retention? I didn't really do any exercise over the weekend, so I want to get back on track with that. Have a great day friends!
10/09 177.6 - Wrong way! I don't understand. I was under on calories and I went for a walk yesterday. Work was crazy yesterday, so maybe stress? My period is pretty much over, so I'm not sure what's happening. Will stay on track and hopefully things are better tomorrow!
10/10 176.8 I came to a realization yesterday after dealing with some IBS issues for most of the day. I've gotten a little away from paleo eating. Not that I feel that I have been eating anything "bad." Just not necessarily what feels good for my body. And I'd forgotten that I'd decided to try raising my carbs just as an experiment. It's probably been a good week or two and I think I need to lower them a little. It's all just an experiment and I'll see how my body responds!
10/11 177.4 - I'm not quite sure what's happening here. I was under on calories and I went for a short walk and I had lots of water yesterday. So the good thing is that I did make good choices. I just wish the scale was reflecting that. It will, I just need to be patient.
10/12 176.4 - This past week has been all over the place! I am still hopeful to finish this challenge lower than what I started.
Yesterday, my son had his second cross country meet. He ran 1.5 miles in 19:47 which I think isn’t bad considering he just started running two weeks ago! I was feeling inspired watching these kids run and I got to thinking I just might have to give it a try! I’ve never considered myself a runner. Ever. I’ve had a larger body for most of my life, so I just never found it enjoyable. I’d made attempts before, but never really stuck with it. But now I’m thinking of working on it, that way I can help him to keep going too!
Today's goal is to stay on track and get 10,000 steps!

@LeafyPoo I had the same issues when I started loosing weight too. A big fear of excess skin but it didn't end up turning out as bad as I had imagined it would have. I was a short (5'5) girl at 230 and as I lost the weight and once I got comfortable I started uping my weight training. It helps a lot to build muscle to replace where the fat had been, which will fill out where the excess skin might be, I aimed to be more muscular then toned. I don't mean muscular as in bulked like a man or like a female body builder, I mean just more defined with muscle. Just pay attention to your transformation as you continue your journey. If you do it slowly and right then the excess skin might actually not be a problem at all...but if you notice a loosening then just up your weight training and build more muscle. You are getting healthier and that's first and foremost but you also need to feel confident in your own body and working hard just to end up seeing bad results can play on your mind, no matter how hard you try to not let it bother you. It sucks but it's also honest and realistic. Muscle definition will look better and feel better as well2

@DebCountsAll "Give elderly you a huge gift of MOBILITY" really resonated with me. I do want to live a long life and be able to be mobile and energetic with my possible future grand children. Thank you for reminding me of that. I get so used to my life "right now that I forget to think about how far future me will be because of my actions right now. I bet she would prefer being healthy and mobile even if it meant loose skin. Thank you7 -

10/05 155.6 sllooowwly inching off. Worked out good yesterday, ate well and 1.2 liters of water. Hate that I can't get enough water in... I need to get my head in the game. It was absolutely gorgeous yesterday and I was so happy to have a nice day again, fully knowing it is one of last nice days I decided to take full advantage of it. My dog sure loved me for it too lol more then 40 minutes of walking, breathing in the fresh air and just enjoying life. It ended up being a really great day!!
10/06 no weigh in. Last night went out late and woke up this morning and immediatley went out to pick up some stuff up for thanksgiving dinner tomorrow so didn't weigh in before eating. But I did work out, stay under calories and drank 1 liter of water so at least last night's outting won't effect tomorrow's weigh in
10/07 🍁🍃Thanksgiving 🍁🍃 154.8 not too bad. Yesterday wasn't feeling too good so my food wasn't the greatest and I got minimum exercise in (had to shop for thanksgiving) hoping today will go well but I am not sure at the same time...we will see
10/08 155.6 not a bad gain at all!!! I ate so much if not a little of everything but I think that worked in my favor. Rather then taking two plates of food, I had one with a spoonful of everything. That way I tasted everything but my brain registered being full when I was finished. Not too bad at all. Holidays are over and I am officially back at it. I got this!
10/09 156.4 Ok so here is the real gain from sunday lol ate within my goals, exercised and drank 1 liter of water. I personally have no clue of what more I can actually do to jump start this weight loss again..I'm definitely stuck with 156-155-154 . I already exercise with as much time as I have and I already eat extremely healthy, always watching my salt, sugar, carbs and fats...just being sure they all are balanced for the day and not over the suggested amount. Water is something I continue having a problem with probably going to just re set all my focus on that rather then worrying about everything else since I seem to have a good routine and mindfulness towards my balance. I'm just going to have to be patient with myself. I was looking back at another page from a couple of weeks ago when I first hit the 150s and I actually, literally said that the 150s were going to be a difficult 10 pounds and that I knew my weight loss would slow...lol should have listened to myself
10/10 155.8 weighed but forgot to post
10/11 154.4 crazy exercise day yesterday, ate under calories and drank 1.7 liters of water. Slowly coming down. On Tuesday I started feeling a tingle in my throat and yesterday woke up with a cough, this morning I woke up stuffed up. I might be fine to get some light exercising in but I already know tomorrow will be hard.
10/12 152.6 talk about a whoooosh train. There are two things that might have contributed to this weight loss 1. The fact that I have a chest and head cold..if this is the case I hope it stays once I am better and I don't regain or 2) I ate 1400 calories yesterday. I exercise like mad and although I try to stick to the 1200 calorie budget I find that when I eat closer to 1400, especially on a crazy work out day, I loose faster. I already know the rule of thumb is to stick to 1200 when you dont exercise much but then to up your calories when you do but it's so difficult to over throw the fear and mentality of exercise and small amounts calories. I need to remind myself the more you work out the more you need to eat. I will be watching and experimenting with this concept as I go on

Still truckin'. Staying under my goals, not feeling hungry. Drinking more water. Went for a walk with my mom and my son . Today was the first day that has felt like fall and I loved it!
For significant weight loss, you may qualify for "reconstructive surgery" (not plastic surgery) from your insurance company. Here are videos addressing how to go about getting insurance to cover proceures after significant weight loss: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wjLLLXdWwKA and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J5QY4ZKLC_A
Don't let loose skin hold you back!

I am a 50 year old 5'5" woman. I am trying to get healthier to avoid diabetes and all of the problems that come from being overweight.
I have found this challenge to be both rewarding and frustrating! Looking at my weight daily has been a real eye opener to see all of the fluctuations and how a high carb day will affect me and the loss for 2-3 days after. On the other hand when I look at the big picture and the averages it has been a consistent loss except for two rounds. Round 53 was my 50 birthday celebrations that upped my weight for a few days.
I need to step up my game if I want to meet any of my goals.

10/5 - 182.2 - Too many carbs yesterday, I did do a lot of working out too though so it shouldn't last too long.
10/6 - 182.0 - I am my own worse enemy I have got to learn to stop the high carbs!
10/7 - 182.2 I’m not surprised, this is a poor weekend to try to lose. Thanksgiving, gender reveal, company...
10/8 - 181.8 should be a But better day food wise today.
10/9 - 183.0 - Back at work today, I find it so much easier to control things at work and when I'm in my normal routine.
10/10 - 181.0 - Still feel "heavy" and like I've eaten too much. Hopefully this feeling goes away soon.
10/11 - 181.6 - Ugh
10/12- 180.4 - Finally heading down again. I don't think my average will be less this time either though

10/11- 184.9- had whole grain pasta last night. Was just as delicious as regular pasta AND it didn't lead to an upwards weight fluctuation! Yay! Hopefully I can reach my 184.0 goal by the end of the challenge! Also I finally tried cauliflower rice (below)! Was delicious!
Thanks for sharing the pic. It looks delicious. I like all the pre-bought flavors with my favorite being Cauliflower rice risotto. Fresh is great, but can be expensive during certain times of the year. In my area, it is actually cheaper to buy the frozen for the same quantity and something just isn't right about that. Anyway, I'm glad you found the tip helpful. I want your dinner for tonight LOL !
Don't forget to try zoodles sometime. I bought a little machine for 15 dollars that gives me 3 choices of blades and I zoodle up the zucchini in seconds fresh. You can also buy that frozen but it is way way cheaper to do your own ANY time of year as the frozen zoodles cost more than the rice. Make it with marinara, or marinara in meat sauce. I also premake meatballs and freeze them so I can grab a few to make zoodle spaghetti and meatballs. You can make a big batch up and precook it for the freezer, or just make it as you go. At some point I am going to try the zucchini in a lasagna with the zucchini being the noodles. I just have to figure out how to get it to not water up so much. Any tips anyone has on that would be helpful. I have already bought a mandolin to slice the zucchini.

@tiabirdie56 Sweet peppers! OMG, I've got to try your version. Thanks! Get your sleep. As much as I miss your posts and wisdom, your health is much more important to me.
@LeafyPoo I weighed 210 while pregnant with my eldest and 205 with my youngest. At 5'3.5" that is a significant amount of body fat; I was carrying around another me. Diabetes runs in my family as well as numerous types of cancer, hypertension, and heart disease. Loose skin was and is the very least of my concerns.
Hydration is super important for your skin as well as the rest of your body. Healthy fats, vitamin B12, and minerals are essential for healthy skin.
Collagen stimulation will increase the integrity of your skin. This can be as simple as dry brushing your body before showering. It's also a healthier way to exfoliate than commercial scrubs which have unnecessary chemicals.
Increased circulation moves lymph (intercellular fluid cells excrete byproduct/waste into via osmosis) along faster to be cleansed by the lymph nodes and spleen. Clean lymphatic fluid = healthier/cleaner cells = healthier skin and you. Increased circulation also leads to greater oxygen availability for cells. Another reason to exercise, take the stairs, or park farther from the store entrance.
Drastic weight loss, due to long term extreme calorie/nutrient deprivation, will increase the probability of looser skin, hair loss, skin rashes, bowel problems, dehydration, bone loss, tooth decay, and a whole list of health issues.
Once you've reached and maintained your goal for a year, reassess your body to see if you are truly dissatisfied with the condition of your skin. If so, there is a minimally invasive procedure which can tighten the skin, approximately 30%, by stimulating collagen production. It's called Profound.

@DebCountsAll
Like the advice you gave to leafypoo. When I think about it - looking better is important to me but feeling better, being able to do things like hike and especially being mobile when I'm elderly is way more important. It's not just the mobility either. My mom had very high blood pressure because of her weight and it caused repeated TIA's so she lost all her memory. I know there are other things that can do that but in her case it was ultimately her weight that caused her problems.6 -

The avocado cole slaw sounds interesting. Are you on a low carb plan? I'm still learning.
Hi! I am on a modified Keto plan. I can't eat enough to do the full Keto so I just tweak my macros from what FitnessPal recommends. The Avocado Coleslaw is easy to make and yummy! I use one small avocado, some bagged coleslaw mix (1.5 cups) and add about a tablespoon of olive oil mayo, just enough to mix everything. If I need more fat, I add raw sunflower seeds, about 1/4 cup.
Thank you, Liann. I love the idea of adding the sunflower seeds, too! I just remembered I have some in the refrigerator. I know what I'm having for lunch.2 -
ROUND 55 (Round 2 for me)
5’5” 65 y/o Texas Lady
SW 178 lb.
GW 140 lb.
Round 54 – SW 178 lb. down to 171.8 lb. (6.2 lb. loss) This was my beginning of eating keto and tracking calories. I expect more realistic loss this round, but loss, none the less!
Day/Weight/Comment
10/05 171.6 I’m happy to be starting another round! After a big breakfast with our guests from Zimbabwe, Thor (my GSD) and I walked a little over 3 miles. I took water for both of us this time. Someone took my water before I returned for it, but I drank a little of Thor’s water. We walked a little slower than usual since I had a full tummy from breakfast.
10/06 171.4 No walk, getting ready for a 2-day bus trip, singing and eating with my sisters in Christ. When I joined the group, my husband groaned, because he didn’t want me to be heavy like the rest of the ladies. His fears were grounded, and I gained about 40 lbs. Fortunately, most of us in the group have gotten serious about getting back in shape, so I think I’ll eat okay this weekend. Thor and I will miss our walks, but we plan to start again on Monday.
10/07 On the road and off the scale.
10/08 170.8 (when I woke up) (170.6 after walk with Thor) I think I was experiencing keto flu the last couple of days. I drank a lot of fluids, ate plenty of calories that I didn’t try to count—including shrimp, ribs, chicken, veggies, and I ate a few extra carbs to combat the tired, yucky feeling I’ve read is common at the beginning of a keto regimen. I feel fine today.
10/09 171 Up a little, could it have been something I ate? 😊 Don’t worry, be happy! Took a short walk with Thor and a friend this morning—before the rain started. I read “The Movie Chair’s” blog on MFP this morning, entitled “Walk Through the Swamp.” I don’t know if I would call it motivational or a kick in the pants, but it’s a wonderful piece, whatever you call it. I printed out copies for a few friends and relatives.
10/10 170.2 That’s more like what I want to see. I found my Chalean Extreme DVD set, so strength training begins today.
10/11 171 (when I woke up) 170.2 (after walk) I confess I ate more than usual yesterday, but I was finally close to my target protein and fat counts. I didn’t have time to walk yesterday, and I didn’t do great on my strength training. It’s a lot harder than it was 7 years ago! Who would have guessed? I have a long way to go, but I’m pressing on. What have I got to lose?
10/12 170.0 That’s encouraging. Thor and I walked our 3.2 miles this beautiful, cool morning, and I didn’t bother weighing after the walk, since I liked the wake-up number. We stopped and drank our water after the first 2.5 miles. My toes didn’t hurt today, so that was an unexpected blessing. I’m praising God!

Round 54 End Weight = 142.0 (1.1 lbs lost)
Stats = 5'4 female, age 48
Highest Weight = 172 lbs (June 18, 2018)
Initial Goal Weight = 139 lbs (last weighed this is 2013)
Ultimate Goal Weight = 129 lbs (last weighed this in 2011)
Round 55 Goal: 140.0 or Under
Exercise Plan = Had to pause the Betty Rocker 90 Day Challenge on Day 68 due to sprained ankle, still in recovery mode and just practicing yoga during this round to hopefully get back to my workout program by Round 56.
Nutrition Plan = Continue to limit gluten, dairy, sugar, diet soda, alcohol & eat non-processed foods, protein/fruit/veg at every meal, complex carbs at breakfast and post workout meal, drink plenty of water.
10/5 = 142.0 (no change from yesterday) Yesterday, I was on my feet too much and felt it in my ankle by the end of the night, will try to stay off it more today and ice. I'm going to alternate yoga every other day for this round, trying to strengthen my ankle. This round I'll also focus more on my nutrition, which has been slacking. There has been more and more gluten making its way back into my food choices and I just feel better when I limit these types of foods. I'll tighten back up on my alcohol consumption as well, limiting to 1-2 times/week. "Tough times don't last; tough people do."
10/6 = 142.0 (no change from yesterday) Took yesterday as another rest day, ankle improving with the pain now down to dull ache and able to bear full weight. Yesterday was the perfect running weather, so hard to be stuck inside not able to get some miles in. I really want to be able to run (as well as get back to my workouts) while it is still fall before it gets so cold. I'll still run outside in winter, but just love fall running the most. Today, I'm going to do some yoga and then need to do some menu planning and meal prep. If I am going to lose any real weight this round, it will be because of the food choices I make. Need to make sure I'm set-up for success. Have a great weekend everyone!
10/7 = No Weigh In. I had a nice Sunday morning sleep-in and then before I could weigh-in was called to cooked breakfast for my daughter. I had promised her French toast as we had some really nice bread left over from earlier in the week. This was only for her, I am not tempted by this at all as consuming gluten makes me feel horrible. I picked my 90 day challenge workouts back up and completed day 69 of 90. I had to modify and take out the jumping parts and wore the ankle brace for extra support. I dropped each move down from 1 minute each to 30 seconds, still 3 rounds. I got through this fine, no noticeably ankle pain!
10/8 = 142.0 (no change) Probably not making my goal this round of being under 140. But it will come in time, just trying to get back into the swing of things with my workouts. Hopefully, now that I am able to get a good sweaty workout in again, I will be able to recommit to the healthy eating habits I had been practicing. I'm discouraged to know that this ankle set-back led to some self-sabotage eating, I had hoped I was beyond that. But knowledge is power, so I will stay strong and get back on track.
10/9 = No Weigh in
10/10 = 146.7 (up 4.7 lbs) Ow! That hurts just typing it. Two back to back days of making really poor choices and that is was the scale will bring you. I deserve this number. Monday went off the rails at lunch, when I got into pasta leftovers, which I should not be eating anyway due to gluten intolerance, much less in the serving size I had. Then we went to the movies where I had popcorn and a sugary cocktail, out to dinner where I had a dairy heavy soup, home to watch the Redskins lose on Monday night football where there were snacks and wine consumed. I logged it as a little over 3,000 calories. Then yesterday morning I avoided the scale (bad sign), and had normal calories all day but then lost it and more than doubled my calories with wine and snacks after dinner, came in over 2,400 calories. WTF??? I'm not stressed, there is no real reason for this binge but I feel it has been building for a bit. Spraining my ankle didn't help but I think this was coming even before that. I'd gotten a little complacent with my logging, calories, and food choices once I got under 145 lbs because I was so happy to not be "technically" fat anymore that I wasn't as diligent as I need to be. But no excuses, I made these choices. I now need to make a new choice, to refuse to sabotage all the hard work is has taken me to lose what was a 30lb loss. New day, a new re-confirmed commitment to myself and this process. "Commitment means staying loyal to what you said you were going to do long after the mood you said it in has left you".
10/11 = 145.5 (down 1.2 from yesterday, still up 3.5 lbs) Reigned it in a bit yesterday, still not 100% back on track. I had a typical breakfast but by the time for lunch, I was off track & "snacked" instead of having my normal green smoothie. But I logged it and was right at my calorie max, so I called it a day and didn't have anything more to eat. So while not the most nutritious day, was not over calories. Baby steps I drank lots of water yesterday to help flush out some of the junk food bloat and was able to get back to my 90 day challenge workouts. Day 70 completed yesterday: Jump Squat Cross Cross, Push Up Jacks, Crescent Kicks, 1-2 Punch (right leg, then left), One Arm Burpees, Spinal Balance, Single Leg Balance Lifts, Donkey Calf Raises, & V-Sit Straight Leg Circles. 3 Rounds but I've dropped each move from 1 minute each to 30 seconds to take it easy on my ankle. Still modifying some moves to be a little less intense but was able to do the jumping moves, albeit gingerly, at least pain free.
10/12 = 144 (down 1.5 from yesterday, still up 2.0 lbs) Inching my way back down. Yesterday was about 80% on track, nutrition was good and under calories, lots of water, but no exercise and 1 glass of wine. Looking to tick off all of the boxes today for nutrition, hydration & exercise. We going to be busy doing all sorts of fun fall activities this weekend. I'm taking my daughter and friend to a Graveyard Ghost tour tomorrow night. We live in an old New England town and this is something the historical society does so should be a bit of informative town history with a side of Halloween spooky. And then on Sunday, we will be headed to a local corn maze and pumpkin patch. The corn maze covers 8 acres, so if I'm not back weighing in on Monday, you'll know I'm still lost! There may of may or may not be a cider doughnut in my future this weekend as well, but only if it fits in my calories. Have a great weekend, everyone!

It seems with age, we need a little extra weight to look healthy. As a 5'6", 20-40 something y/o, 125 was a good weight. When I lost my appetite and dropped to 115, in my 30's, I looked like a skeleton. I have a large frame; my niece says we have "man hands." At age 60, and an inch shorter (5'5"), I dropped to 130 and my husband and friends pushed me to gain back a little. Obviously, I exceeded "a little." So, my current goal is 135 - 140.

So bummed that my scale is gone up but it was almost instantaneous after the break and then again after the surgery. I’m clearly retaining fluids (massive swelling) even though I’ve been walking each day (quite a lot actually) and watching what I ate.
I’ve been told it’s not good to try to lose weight after surgery, but at this point with several pounds more on, I’m gonna go ahead and go back in and diet to get back to at least 161.

@SheliaBoneham Thanks so much for sharing her picture. She is beautiful and looks so loved and content. Prayers to her and your family during this difficult time.
@gravytrain61 and @liann1970 Welcome! I know you are going to love this informative and supportive group!
@AJB1014 Yet another great idea from you - to give yourself some additional weight loss as a birthday gift to yourself! I love that!
@MultoMundoMonkey Way Way too funny! Chuckling uncontrollably here in Michigan.
@FarmerCarla Thanks for the videos. I look forward to watching them in case this becomes a bigger issue for me than it already has.
@jerier My hair salon told me about dry brushing. She had weight loss surgery and her bariatric doctor told her to use this technique. I bought one from Amazon but have honestly not been faithful with it. That changes today!
Thanks also for the Profound related website. I plan on reading it today.
@DebCountsAll I also love your comment to leafypoo. Perfect Perspective! Especially when it comes to the granchildren!

@LeafyPoo I couldn’t find your original post but I did see someone who had quoted part of it.
The skin issue led me to re-gain weight in the past but not this time! I spent a lot of time trying to figure it out.
1) I had to come to terms/forgive myself for gaining weight and not having been able to lose the weight and maintain it before. I think when I was younger I really had no health issues, so I really didn’t think it was such a big deal. The food was more delicious than dieting etc.
I successfully forgave myself as I know how hard I truly tried.
2) I had to come to terms with the fact that my skin would not be the way I wanted it to be. This was a Biggie. I had gained back weight at least twice before because of skin (& smaller boobs). I’m not kidding. It took me a few months. I let myself lose weight more slowly. I learned that it does get a little better over time, so give it time. And. I got used to how it looked & it bothered me less & less over time. So give it time.
My upper arm wrinkles bothered me the most until I realized that I couldnt show my arms when I was fat because my arm was huge at least now my arm is normal/thin and I can cover it up with the sheer sleeves if I want to. I also kissed my arm every time I noticed the wrinkles and said “thank you strong arm” which helped combat negative thoughts. It worked!
3) your thoughts on health as focus is right on. I focus on how I feel from within. I feel Fantastic!! Truly!! Alive!!Able to do things! People say “You’re such an Active person.” That thrills me. With a recent injury, the docs made decisions based on my being active & fit .... not older & fat & sedentary. I want THAT!
4) I reminded myself that everyone ages. There are people who were never heavy who have wrinkles.
5) I grieved over being my most conventionally beautiful in many decades as I enter older years. Had to let it go. Got a new hair style, learned how to do eyebrows...light make up. My new mantra: we can wear anything with swagger! *winks
People feel your essence! You’re beautiful & strong! The past is past. Now, we’re going for living the most active, longest life with our loved ones!!! Seeing as many sunsets, bunnies hopping in our backyards, dolphins leaping in the ocean, sunlit spring green leaves, ... Skin, schmin!! You got this Leafy!!! 🍃 hugs
