I am so in! I need a serious motivator. Gained a ton of weight, my goal was to get down to 110 by January, so hopefully this helps me to get there!1

I enter each item individually the first time. Then when I make it again I look up the dish with homemade in it and use that number. Not ideal but it is quicker.2

Pure experience gives a good eyeball estimate for calories usually, and trying to read labels a lot gives some help. Usually I go off what the packages say, and then it'll probably be close enough.
If I'm worried about it, I will actually overestimate what I think it is. ..just a bit, and that way I know that I'm probably good in terms of my consistency and trends.
Overall tho, do what works for you. I know my margin of error is working for me because I can feel it - the calorie input is pretty accurate or at least works for my progress. If you are consistently over or under, it'll average out for you. Don't sweat it I'd say.
--- I do use the recipe maker and find homemade versions of things, and that is usually a good way to also get a pretty accurate calorie count for certain items. Or if I eat something processed, I use some restaurants version of it -cause I know it is probably closer than what I find otherwise.1 -
I’m so in. I had a really low energy week and could use some motivation.

OMG I think I have finally broken the 170lbs barrier!! Weight this morning was 168.6 and I’ve been hovering around 170 for nearly 6 weeks.
Start weight 275.5 (9/2017)
Challenge start weight 170 obvs
End Feb target 150
Hopefully that means I’m on my way.
Just need to get through a business trip overseas next week and then the holidays.

I think it is very important to listen to your body. Sorry for the tirade but I feel this is important to stress for people:
Today I was low energy, my stress and anxiety and just depression started to settle in. .. which meant the last thing I wanted to do was try and workout for a 600 calorie burn- it is a challenge sometimes.
Please. Use self-care in these times.
Today, it was pushing away (ignoring) from me the stress I get from trying to manage my calories -and just feeding myself something.. being ever mindful but just not worrying about it!
I gave myself chips and cheese dip, but I refused to let my emotions throw out my efforts so I gave myself a moderate amount (vs binge eating). ... and I still was a bit hungry and low energy and just depressed.
So I gave myself a fun size milky way and I ate it, along with some lovely water. ... and it was exactly what I wanted and needed! I listened to my body, but didn't let it control me...it's taken years to get to this point, but it is possible.
For those of you who also deal with depression, anxiety and stress screwing up your mental stability - which makes losing weight harder.... I beg you, listen to your body (sometimes)! Sometimes all you need is that chocolate piece. Don't tear yourself up because you gave yourself it, but also don't succumb to your emotions and devour the whole bag and other stuff. ....It's called all in moderation I guess aha. Sometimes you need 2. It's okay. Just get back up again.
... though not everyone can eat one fun size caramel and get the energy to put on that workout, I hope everyone can find their something little. Their guilty pleasure, that they can give themselves when life just gets hard. And I hope, that when you give yourself that -especially with the holidays coming up- you don't beat yourself up because you gave yourself that cookie. As long as you are always trying to better yourself, keep things in moderation and listen to your body... there is no falling off the wagon.
It's called a pit stop, before the final lap.
Cheers everyone!8 -
