Why do men cheat

Just wondering what causes men to cheat?

Exactly the same thing that causes women to cheat. Insecurity, lack of general decency, and being self-centered.

I don't cheat, but I've known plenty of women who do regularly... several who have never been faithful more than a few months in any relationship. I've known guys who do the same. *shrug* Selfish idiots will be selfish idiots.

We did some studies on this in our psychology classes because women's percentages of cheating is quickly catching up to mens-- more recent studies have shown that women cheat in nearly the same percentages as men (+/- 3%) a lot of the older studies show women cheating significantly less because of several reasons: 1) Access, men were out at work, drinking after, etc... women were home. 2) Social stigma, it was less socially ok for women to cheat than men. 3) Accuracy in reporting, due to the social stigma even women who have cheated are less likely to report it, even anonymously. 4) This is changing rapidly... both sexes are cheating more, but women are reporting it at a much higher rate than previously as well.

Shrug all in all though, in the end... you're a piece of **** if you cheat, period. Regardless of sex.

Lack of affection
Sex: Lack of/or lack of different types of. ie sexual incompatibility
Boredom/monotony/need for variety
Desirability
She cheated first
Abusive spouse/girlfriend
Some are hardwired to propagate
Some are just A@@holes and see women as notches/conquests
Sex addict
Inferiority complex

Because they chose a boring diet.

Because their diet is too restrictive.

Because they grabbed any old diet book off the shelves without knowing if it was really for them and committed to it.

Because their cal goals are too low.

Because they forgot to include chocolate into their diet.

Because a website told them cheat days are okay. (or even a good thing to preserve the sanctity of the diet).

Because their father's ate dirty foods once in awhile and when Jr. saw said here you have an ice cream cone too and don't tell your mom.

Because they can. Cheating is a crime of opportunity. Men are dissatisfied with their daily eating plans because food porn is everywhere nowadays and so they are all just sitting around with their forks in their hands ready to fork anything the minute your back is turned or you are too tired to give a *kitten*. Then when they are all face down in the toilet from overdoing it they want you to come in and hold their hair even though they won't tell you they got it from eating Sheila's dirty dirty cake from down the block.

lol it's my masters theory on how men and women perceive a relationship. men are considered stupid to women, because they lack common sense in realizing that they can't please women all the time, because they think women are crazy in the needs they want fulfilled. Women on the other hand, perceive men as stupid because they never seem to "get it" and do what they want without having to ask, and get mad because they think men are stupid for not knowing something simple. It's a never ending cycle of the battle of the sexes. I hope to elaborate one day in a book / thesis. It's just hard to do it without subjects to test it on.

Dunno how I can tie that in with economics as my major though :-/

What awful stereotypes. I don't know any men who think women are "crazy" (although they might think some of the women in their lives sometimes act crazily) and I don't know any women who think men are "stupid" (although they might think some of the men in their lives should pay attention a little more). Your thesis sounds like it says more about you and your relationships than it does about the two sexes.

Or maybe it says something about his sense of humor.

I don't cheat so I'm just speculating but if I did I'd cheat because:
a) no longer attracted go gf/wife because she gained weight due to her own personal choices;
b) she doesnt give me the attn I deserve;
c) adrenaline
d) some girls are crazy
