If you're talking about cramps in your side when running, be sure you exhale completely. If you take deep breaths through your nose (extending your stomach) and completely exhale through your mouth (I tighten my abs and give a little puff at the end of the exhale) before taking the next breath, you can avoid side cramps. I breath in for 3 steps and out for 3 steps (forcing every bit of breath out) when I start, then breath in 2 steps and out 2 steps as exertion becomes more intense.
If your cramps were digestive, I offer sympathy.2 -

10/24 148.4 lunch time walk, cardio at the gym, 10k steps, ate healthy, two glasses of wine and one dark chocolate treat
10/25 147.0 ??? Today is a long day with after school workshops for the parents. We'll be ordering dinner. Persian food is one of my favorites. 12 hour work day - 11k steps
10/26 150 Hmmm. I expected to be a little higher than yesterday but not this much. I'll drink lots of water and see where this goes tomorrow. I won't let this bump lead me into a downward spiral like it did last round. I actually ended the last round not far from where I started, so I could have lost weight by sticking it out.
10/27 149.2 Weight after breakfast because I forgot.
Great workout with my trainer today. My Physical Therapist said not to work on biceps, but I feel that listening to my her is contributing to my freezing shoulder. I'm going to trust my personal trainer to know how to help me exercise without further injuring my shoulder. Concert tonight at the Hollywood Bowl with a picnic dinner - I can't wait and will be making healthy choices so that I can splurge a little with my beverage.
10/28 150 Had a great time last night. Time to chug the water. Food prep day
10/29 150 Within calories, went to the gym.
10/30 150.4 Just a little over calories. Didn't stress during my meeting. Someone next to me was eating peanuts and candy, and though she offered me some, I refused.

10/25 149 Back here again, but with new motivation. I found an old tablet yesterday and was looking through old photos of myself, and got inspired to lower my goal weight to 134.5. Weight loss is first and mostly about psychology, and it really helped to see myself slimmer, smiling, looking like I felt great. Yesterday I had a really good day, lowered my calories back to 1200 and started wearing my fitbit again. Refocusing on my macros, since higher protein works best for me (carbs 25%, fat 45%, protein 30%) and seeking to hit that protein goal of 90g daily. These past 5 rounds I have indulged plenty, tasted all the foods I was desiring, and have come back to the realization that I feel better when I eat more simply. Skipping breakfast unless I am hungry, lots of salads, and grilled lean protein. Occasional treats, not daily. Looking forward to this round more than I have in a while! Have a great day everyone!
10/26 148.4 Dedicated to staying out of the 150's this round as I stay on course. Candy is in the house but I am safe! Tomorrow night we are going to a big Halloween party, so I will save some calories to snack there, but stay away from sweets. I have had enough sweets over the past several rounds to be ready to stay away.
10/27 149 Did not walk yesterday due to escorting mom to dr. and son to DMV (yay! he got his permit!) so lots and lots of sit and wait time. Ate over calories quite a bit last night and not the best choices in spite of my oh so motivated talk to myself. Today is a new day, and I am up and at em early ready for it to be outstanding! Every moment is an opportunity to begin again, have a great Saturday everyone!
10/28 149.2 Parsley cucumber lemon water is on the menu today to get rid of my Mexican food bloat from last night, but it was worth it! Hubby and I were inmates in black and white stripes, so it was comfy and the party last night was tolerable. He is leaving tomorrow until Saturday out of town, so this coming week will be a challenge. In the past when he's gone I have used it as an excuse to overeat, but not anymore! This time I will use his time away to stay focused on ME, to get my walks in, to eat how I know fuels my body best, and to spend some time introspectively and GROW. The past does not equal the future!
10/29 WEIGH IN DAY 148.4 Back here again, but this is really good!!! I am so happy not to be bouncing up as high as 150! I'm up extra early to take my honey to the airport, going to walk the hill when I get back and I will log my day. Continuing to drink the cucumber/parsley/lemon infusion, love the taste!
10/30 147.4 I dabbled here one time last week, good to see it again! Went over calories yesterday but stayed in deficit due to a lot of walking. I try not to pay attention to the fitbit adjustment, it's deceived me into thinking I can eat more than I really should. Does not seem right to eat more just because I had more steps around the house etc. I just counted out the weeks until the end of the year and we have 9 weeks until 2019! My goal is to get below 140 by then!
11/2 147 First time hitting this in a long time! I found an old weight watchers weight log card from 2003 and I distinctly remember going there to lose because I had reached a high weight of 145 and was more comfortable at my usual 135. This gave me added motivation to stay on course and continue towards my new goal of 134.5. 140 used to be my stop point, I am not sure how it crept higher and higher over the past 15 years. Ate well yesterday, since husband is away all the kids infiltrated the house, I had 4 of mine plus a couple extra in the kitchen...it was nice :-)

10/25 165.6 Back for a new round! Hoorah! My weight is a little up, but I did what I needed to do, so it’ll come down soon. Yesterday was raining, so Thor and I didn’t get in a walk, but I did a Chalean Extreme workout. I must have done it correctly, because it was hard, as Chalean says it should be. Today, I’ll spend most of the day playing cards with friends (and watching calories).
10/26 165.0 Thor and I got in our 4 miles this morning. I’m amazed at how much his fitness is improving. We have a one acre yard, but he spends a lot of time in the house and only runs when cows, donkeys, or strangers are at the fence or an unwelcome small animal is in his yard. This walk is good for both of us! I have concerts with my gospel group this weekend, one this evening, two tomorrow, and two Sunday. All our songs are choreographed, so we get a little exercise. We carry our own equipment and set up our sound, too. No hikes with Thor this weekend, but four of us in the group are watching what we eat. We will hold each other accountable.
10/27 165.6 Early morning departure for weekend concert engagements.
10/28 No scale. A church fed us lunch, and we had dinner at Dairy Queen. I had two bites of a cake at the church, and, confession time, I had a full sugar Coke at the hotel. I thought I would be able to get a Diet Dr. Pepper or Coke Zero from the vending machine, but no such luck. My Zevia sodas were locked in the bus.
10/29 No scale. Again, I allowed myself two bites of cake and a little piece of watermelon and cantaloupe at the church that provided lunch. No exercise, either day, other than performing and setting up equipment. It was an encouraging, enjoyable weekend of presenting our songs and testimonies in accordance with our theme this year of “Sharing Jesus With Urgency!” Only eleven days before we leave on our 10-day singing tour. That will be a challenge to the dietary goals of the four of us losing weight.
10/30 166.0 A little gain, but I still hope to show a loss this round. Thor and I only walked 3 miles this morning, because the Morton’s Neuroma was hurting my foot. I wore new hiking books and a metatarsal pad, but I suspect the pad needed to be moved further to the right on my foot. I’ll continue to experiment.
10/31 165.4 I sure would like to lose a little more before the end of the round. I’m still up .2 lb from the Round 56 finish. Because of toe pain, Thor and I had to keep our walk at 3 miles again. We stopped to help neighbors helping a local business owner—move tables and chairs and sweep. I early-voted yesterday, so I’m trying to remember why I feel like I need to go into town today.
11/01 164.4 To be sure, I mounted the scale 3 times and got the same reading each time. Whew! I remembered this morning I needed to go to town for a haircut yesterday. Now, I have to wait until tomorrow and hope my favorite hairdresser is working. More exercise is supposed to improve my brain function—I hope it helps. It’s a rainy day, so Thor is disappointed to miss our walk. Meet my sweet Thor, 3-yr-old long-coat German Shepherd.

Round 57: My 1st Round
F/23/5’3’’/SW 59kg
10/25 – 58.7kg Exercised for 30min yesterday and ate healthy breakfast and lunch and ended up eating heavy dinner. I tend to eat more for dinners should try to control this.
10/26 – 58.5kg (-0.2kg) didn’t exercise at all yesterday, finished my dinner early rather than having late night dinners I decided to eat early and I am happy to see the difference. Will try to stick to this plan.
10/27 – 58.3kg (-0.2kg) Spent some time in the morning to exercise. I realized how difficult it is to burn calories and then how easy it is to eat all those calories, so whole day I was very choosy and careful about what I ate. I went out with friends and I said no to Pizzzaaa I can’t believe I did that!! Wow! and the prize for that is what I saw in the morning today a drop of 0.2kg! yay!!
10/28 – 58.3kg no exercise just ate within calorie limit.
10/29 – 58.5g (+0.2kg) reason for this was obviously all the cake, ice-cream and chips that I had yesterday, didn’t exercise…I will consider that to be a cheat day and will be back on track from today.
10/30 – 58.4kg (-0.1kg) Exercised for 15min, ate within calorie limit. Soo close to the end date and still have 500 grams more to lose...I have to start increasing my workout time but after working out for like 10 min I feel exhausted...planning to be on a fruit diet today and see if I feel any difference in weight.
10/31 – 58.3kg (-0.1kg) Yesterday I had one apple and few nuts and survived till evening and then came snacks time and I was so tired and gave up, ended up eating chips and then noodles(still better than the days when I literally used to binge eat and never felt like stopping, now I eat but in a very controlled manner)…well then, I realized that I really messed up my day so I worked out for 30 min doing some core exercises(I did sweat after many days! such a good feeling it is!!).

Late starting this time. I was on vacation and gained 6.4 pounds in 6 days. I thought I did much better than I normally do on cruises and although I expected a gain, I was very disappointed by how large of a gain it was. I've been back for almost a week now and I'm doing better on my eating but haven't gotten back into logging everything and haven't started back to the gym.
Goals this round:
Log food in MFP 4/4 days (only 4 days left this round)
>1200 <1420 calories 3/4 days
Drink 54+oz water 4/4 days
Weight <= 267.2 (>=1.0 lb loss in 4 days
Round 57
10/31: 268.2 (+2.0 since 10/20) Today was the final weigh-in for my work weight-loss challenge. It was based on percentage of body weight lost. I lost 8%. My goal was 10%. I know that 8% is a great loss, but I can't help being disappointed that I didn't make my goal. I've decided to keep that goal weight as my end of the year goal. 9.2 lbs doesn't seem like a lot in nearly 9 weeks time, but actually being at that weight or less will be a challenge considering all of the holidays and I have a 7 day cruise coming up after Thanksgiving. As much as I want to slack off now that the work challenge is over, I must stay controlled!

Day/Weight/Comment
10/25 = 143.5 (up 2.5 lbs from yesterday) Hate to start a new round with a "gain" but this was expected and just a little blip up from my party last night. We had such a good turnout with a great group of ladies, super fun but way too many nibbly foods and cocktails. This should drop right back down in the next couple of days. The last round I was way off track with getting my workouts in & logging, but I practiced intuitive eating and was able to eek out a small loss. Getting out of these 140's is hard but I also have not been truly committed since I sprained my ankle. But all healed and ready to be back at it, giving it 100%. "If you have made mistakes, there is always another chance for you. You may have a fresh start any moment you choose, for this thing we call 'failure' is not the falling down, but the staying down."

10/29 =143.4 (down .01 lbs, still up 2.4 lbs) I was out of the loop over the weekend. My daughter was sick all last week with a fever, cough, chills, and just very weak. She missed almost the entire week of school. We went to the doctor and had a chest x-ray done as there are 5 confirmed diagnosed cases of pneumonia at her school currently, but thankfully hers was all clear. She is back at school today, so I can focus a little bit on me now. My husband has asthma, so he is always so susceptible to anything respiratory illness related, so now he has bronchitis and an ear infection - ugh! Fingers crossed everyone is recovered by Halloween! Yesterday, I finally got back to my 90 day challenge and completed the day 73 yoga, felt super good! So far today, I am back on track with logging after taking a bit of time off from that, have the day 74 workout scheduled and hope to get in my 1st run since spraining my ankle on 9/27. I've also got to go to the store to get a treat for our cat, it's National Cat day, so will pick up the ingredients for the @tiabirdie56 bloat relief water. Have a great day everyone!
10/30 = 143.3 (down .01 lbs, still up 2.3 lbs) Ended up super busy day and got neither workout nor run in, logged about half of my day, still not on track with my nutrition.
10/31 142.3 (down 1.0 lbs from yesterday, still up 1.3 lbs) Yesterday was a beautiful fall day in New England, in the mid 40's with a bit of a chill, my favorite running weather! I went out mid-day and got in my 1st post sprained ankle run, so happy to be a runner again Only did a little over a mile & half just to see how everything felt. My ankle was fine but felt a little twingy in my opposite knee during the run and immediately after, but all fine now. Just one of those weird mystery pains. I also got in day 75 of 90 which was 45 secs of each x 3 rounds of Wide Plie Squat with Hop, Push Up Jacks, Curtsy Lunge to Outside Knee Lift, Side Plank with Hip Drop and Knee Pull In, Triceps Dips with 3 Kicks and Dips, Jump to Side Lunge and Touch, & Single Leg Elevated Bridge Pullover w/ Weight. Feeling this workout today in my quads & booty. Excited for Halloween tonight, my daughter's middle school lets them wear costumes all day and then has a costume contest during each of the lunch periods. She is dressed as a "baby", has on a pink onesie, polka dot bib, hair in double ponies with big pink bows,& has an oversized pacifier, rattle, & bottle. For trick or treating tonight, she is going spooky as the urban legend "Bloody Mary". I'm pretty excited about my ghost costume, there is a hoop skirt involved, and a super dramatic tulle hooded cape. Our town is such a great Halloween town, wishing everyone a fun and safe evening if you are celebrating out and about tonight!

Day/Weight/Comment:
10/25 - 179.2 ….. I will have to make my starting weight my last weigh-in though I'm sure it is up from the travel. I can feel the horrible bloat and the sickness in my stomach. Too many carbs.
10/26 – 181.2….. Well. There it is. Yikes!!!! Glad to be home and back to routine. I have my work cut out for me, but I got this.
10/27 – 178.4….. Whoosh! Thanks Tish for that triple threat drink recipe. I knew I’d have to pull out all the stops. Wow! Nearly 3 pounds lost overnight!
10/28 - 177.0 ….. Whoosh again! Another 1.4 pounds of bloat down after drinking more of the triple threat debloating water yesterday. It’s still not completely gone so I will drink more (and make more) today. I’m down 4.2 pounds in 2 days so it’s helping a lot. I feel SO much BETTER, but I still have a bit of the round pregnant look. It used to look good on me, I would glow with that baby inside. Now, however, no baby and a little ridiculous looking for a 58 year old. So away it is going with the parsley lemon & cucumber water
10/29 - 177.0 ….. Okay, I guess I’m down to the actual travel fat gain and not just water bloat. I continued to sip on the triple threat water today so I wouldn’t waste it in the fridge, however, now the real work starts. A friend is visiting today, so not a lot of opportunity for movement, but I’ve been sticking to my food plan pretty good. Have a great week everyone!
10/30 - 177.2 ….. A little fluctuation. I will be at the hair dresser’s all afternoon doing my unique blend of foil/color. I have started to keep some of the gray in with the dark and light blondes for a more natural and age appropriate look. It’s very subtle, but it’s my way of accepting myself and learning to love myself including all my beautiful maturity! It will take a while for it to actually be all the way down to the ends, but it has been progressing and looking pretty good. I hope everyone has a blessed day. Enjoy and be safe!
10/31 - 177.2 ….. Better than a gain for sure! Excellent day yesterday. Stayed with plan & drank a good amount of water. I also walked 2 miles inside the school due to rain storms here. Thunder and lightening in cold wintery weather was very strange here. I felt very strong in mind and body.

Round 57
10/25 150.5 Late posting today but I did weigh this morning. Glad the little bit I gained came off pretty quickly. 😊
10/26 150 Yayyy! Definitely made me happy to see this number this morning. I shared a story on my personal page yesterday that when I went for my walk, I seen an elderly lady that I met several months ago and haven't seen since. She knew who I was once we started talking, but she said the reason she didn't recognize me at first was my weight loss. Feels great to be noticed 😊
10/27 150 I will be away for the rest of the weekend so I won't have access to a scale tomorrow. Will try and still post though. I am going to a fall festival tonight and I have no idea what kind of foods there will be. Plan to eat light! 10/28 Away, did not weigh- went to a Halloween party Saturday night, there were only hotdogs and lots of carb-y foods, so I did splurge a little.
10/29 150 whew I was afraid to step on the scale this morning from the weekend. No exercising yesterday or Saturday since I was away, and I had several treats but didn't over stuff myself. Also took a break from logging my foods. Back to logging and exercising today. Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!
10/30 150 the real test is gonna be tomorrow with all the Halloween candy. Only 4 more days to meet my goal for this round and get in the 140's. 10 days really go by fast!
10/31 149.5 Not holding on to this number though because tonight we are trick or treating and then going to a party, so will be lots of goodies and drinks.

Ultimate Goal Weight – 128; Hoping to be under 140 by end of June. This is less than 1 lb. per round but as I realize that may not be possible as I get lower (1 lb per round would put me at 131).
Day/Weight/Comment
10/25 – 161.6 – This is actually better than I expected. Off to another round!
10/26 – 160.8 -
10/27 – 160.6 – Maybe I will make it to my goal this round. Two days now of counting all calories and also watching that I get enough protein. Both help with evening snacking. I didn’t realize how slack I was on the counting till I started looking back. I had never paid attention to the protein because I am a real meat lover but because I have to watch my fat (gall bladder issues) sometimes it’s too low.
10/28 - 161.4 – Had a good day calorie and exercise wise so guessing this is just a wiggle on the way down.
10/29 - 160.8
10/30 - 160.8 Starting in next week I’m substitute teaching a class for people learning English. Going in today to pick up the binder. I used to teach this class before I retired. There are no prepared materials exactly just some guidelines. Determined not to stress myself out by leaving prep until the last minute. I have found a unit that I think will work, so off to a pretty good start. Procrastination and the resulting stress are the worst for derailing losing weight.
10/31 – 160.8 – Pretty good day yesterday, didn’t log all my food but did make a fairly low cal supper and then got busy in the evening so no snacking.

My goals are to really work and try to loose another 10-15 pounds by my 29th birthday in December
🕷10/25🕸 149.8- yesterday I worked out but ate a bit too much, late night snacking got to me..I still managed under my calories but it does explain the "maintenance" I drank 1 liter of water, so not great on the water front. I have been extra hungry for the past two weeks but I finally feel normal again now that I am mid week into my TOM. I also feel good today, totally more energized then I have been the past two weeks (like I was before my cold started... gosh colds last a long time) here is to a good day! 🥂 i am also happy to report i took my measurments this morning and I am half an inch down around my waist, 1 inch down around my hips and 1 and a half inches down around my thighs...what a good start to my day
⚰10/26🔮 149.8 pfft. Ate under calories, exercised and drank 1.6 liters of water. Thank gosh I took my inches to prove my weight loss, otherwise this number would have been slightly discouraging since it is the 9th day at 149.x but I'm not letting it get to me. This weekend I will be away so I don't know how often I will be on and I for sure won't have access to a scale, there will be a lot of walking involved but I plan to stay mindful of my eating and hopefully won't see a crazy increase on Monday. Wish me luck 😉
🎃10/27🎭 -away no scale-
🕸10/28🕷 - away no scale-
🔮10/29⚰ 149.6 finally caught up on everyones posts. This weekend was so much fun and I am so happy that this was what I saw on the scale this morning!! Food choices were so difficult given the fact we were on a bus, given food parcels containing sweets and high carb foods. The bus was all ladies with the exception of 4 men out of 40 odd people (not including the two bus drivers) and we were all Italians..which means biscotti and such. I did track all my food and ate everything sparingly. When we did arrive at our destinations, the food options were food courts, which made salads and fruits rare to come by. I did walk a lot and portion out the food. I was lucky that the B&B we stayed at provided fruit for breakfast, so I took a couple extra for the road. I'm so tired today and I am feeling it in my legs, so I might do some light work outs but I am not fully commiting to anything. Planning to get back to my %100 by tomorrow.
🎭10/30🎃 150.6 of course I was amazing all weekend and the day I am home it became a binge fest. I haven't had a cheat meal since Canadian thanksgiving and I haven't had a binge day since I think August so although it does suck and I feel gross I'm also ok with it. I'm back at it today and am just going to keep moving forward and down ward. Also joined a volleyball league that will be starting sometime in November...so excited and nervous
🎃10/31 🕷🕸🔮⚰🎭🎃Happy Halloween 🎃🎭⚰🔮🕸🕷 149.6 and back down again. Exercised for 54 min HITT and went for a 40 min bike ride. It was so nice yesterday. I am proud of my month. Between uping my exercising, being sick and thanksgiving (canadian) I really feel like I did very well. Tonight I am not going to worry about "watching" my eating. I know I teqnically had a binge day Monday and that was teqnically supposed to be saved for today but I am not concerned. I will not overkill it and I will be exercising but its a long tradition to eat junk food and watch horror movies and it tends to be my favorite day of the year.. so I am going to enjoy it. After all there is always tomorrow and I know the minute NOV 1st hits I will be back to normal by watching what i am eating and i will uping my exercise once again. I hope everyone has a great day/night and I hope it's full of spooky fun!!

@bisonpitcher You may stay in the group as long as you want. Some are at maintenance and continue to post. It’s all good!
@puttyputty I’m so glad to see you again! Yes, getting behind on this thread it’s so hard to catch up. After being gone all day yesterday and not looking at FB, I have about 50 notifications waiting. SMH
@FarmerCarla Something is off with your dates. You posted 11/1 the morning of 10/31.
@mthomas0228 Where in New England are you? Would love to see pictures of the costumes!3 -
quiltingjaine wrote: »10/29 130.5 I had the worst Charlie Horse in my right calf and foot yesterday. It took a few minutes for Carl to break it up and it was stressful I was shaking after. Today I have residual pain. Going to meet my friend at the gym at 2 with my new HR monitor. I didn’t know Amazon delivered on Sundays!
10/30 130.0
I had a lot of Charlie Horses in my teen years. I would beat on them and try to massage them out. My father gave me the best advice--lay flat, legs stretched out, concentrate on relaxing, and let it go away on its own. I had my doubts, but he was right. Now, I realize more potassium in my diet may have prevented them in the first place.3 -

No more upwards fluctuations due to bad eating. I want a steady decline this time. I can't just dance around this number. I did that ten pounds ago and I hated it.
Day/Weight/Comment
10/25- 184.7- Glad it didn't go up honestly. I did maintenance calories yesterday.
10/26-184.8- Last exam today. Going to be able to focus on weight-loss better these next two weeks. Kinda excited.
10/27- 184.7
10/28- No weigh in.
10/29- 183.7- Let's keep this going. Have been here before. I want to see 182.something. Happy about this though. But I just definitely need to make myself keep going.
10/30- 184.0- I did well yesterday. The thing is I didn't have time this morning and ate breakfast before remembering to weigh myself so this isn't necessarily accurate. Will eat well tonight too so that I get results tomorrow. Really on my grind this time. Going to get to 180 soon. Determined.
10/31- 183.0- Happy Halloween everyone! First time seeing this number. Really want to see 182.something. Maybe tomorrow? I'm going to eat low sodium and nothing heavy so I don't randomly pack on water weight.
