Quick run today, I'm home with a sick kid and we had to shut off our water (suspected broken pipe on our side, leaking into the neighbor's house). Fortunately I got my shower first, but didn't think to fill up the tub.

It sounds like me before every race!
HEY! I did not give them permission to publish the story of my life!7 -
Yay I ran this morning!!!
Body decided to just keep getting ready whilst Brain vaguely thought of things to prevent the activity. Secretly Brain was pleased.
Spent a bit of time chatting to an elderly gentleman I regularly see walking, and then realised I only had 10 minutes to get home fifteen minutes run away. Nothing like a bit of speedwork on a Friday morning.
I can’t believe how slowly I’m having to build up running again since the marathon in June. Let this be a lesson to you all, don’t let your running slide for four months or you’ll be almost be starting again!!

No run today planned - BECAUSE! We are doing one of them there Escape Rooms tonight!
Side note... if I am not posting for the next few days... SEND HELP!12 -

It was really more of a jumping start into a pull-up but I was able to catch myself and hang and lower down slowly. I felt pretty proud of myself and my former noodle arms.
@katharmonic That's fantastic! Well done, you!
How are you feeling after your first marathon? It can take several weeks to get back up to longer distance, so don't rush things.
I did 26 km 27 days after mine, and it was pretty tough.
Thanks so much @Orphia. I'm feeling pretty good, each short run feels a bit better. I definitely have no plans to do a really long run any time soon. There is a local half marathon this weekend that *everyone* does and I'm a bit sad to miss it, but recovery-wise I'm glad I resisted the urge to sign up.
I may have just agreed to do a Spartan race up a ski slope in March. I think I caught some of the crazy from you people.10 -

quite frankly I'd rather be dressed as Indiana Jones, dodging sharpened blades of wind turbines, across a bed of angry poisonous snakes, in the desert, whilst reciting my twelve times table, than do one of them.
Each to their own I suppose!!8 -
Coming back from an IT band injury, so taking it slow...

Nov 2: 1.59 miles
Nov 3: Rest
Nov 4: Rest

Hi! I’m new to running and thought this thread seemed fun/motivating.
My goal is to run 31.5 miles this month. I’m following a 10K training program and that’s the amount of miles it has me doing.
11/6 - 2.16 miles
11/8 - 2.50 miles15 -

That makes two of us! well, not sure about the snake bit.
@krissytin2781 I feel for you on the IT band, hope it is no big deal.
Welcome @Running2Fit !
Congratulations @katharmonic on your first marathon! that is a very special feeling!
I am trying to decide what to do today as yesterday was upper body weights and a 3-mile tempo run. Would lower body weights not be a good idea 24 hours after a tempo run? you'd think I have enough experience to decide, but since I seem to get more injuries seemingly out of nowhere these days...the idea of a rest day has me twitching and jumping up and down. Gotta do something...maybe an easy 4 or 5 miles? After a hard day I keep feeling like I want to do more more MORE!5 -
11-1 Rest
11-2 7k intervals
11-3 7k easy
11-4 10.5k slow
11-5 7k recovery
11-6 Rest
11-7 7k intervals
11-8 7k easy
11-9 Rest
November total: 45.5k
November goal: 150k
Mixed rain and snow this morning. Opted for the scheduled rest day; looks like the weather might be a little colder and drier tomorrow.3 -

Maybe a 4-5 mile walk? Rest days are important but they don't have to be inactive!6 -

@eleanorhawkins love it! Haha. And yep I haven't done any strength training in a couple of weeks either... And with the HM 1 week away (yep this time next Saturday, I'll be waiting to start!) I am not starting this week.
No run today, I am in the city doing a study day for radiographers. I organise this every year because in our area we don't get a lot of study opportunities.
So of course last night I slept crap. And had bad dreams of everything turning to crap
Sigh.
Coffee in an IV please!4 -
Walking outside will be limited - wildfires in Thousand Oaks and Malibu are polluting the air (I'm about 10 miles or so south of Malibu). YIKES on all those poor people! and in Paradise (much more north).5

ETA: Apparently they needed an ultra-long link for this article!2 -
@Avidkeo 1 week? Yikes!!!!
I'm sitting here in a stew cause the organisers of mine just emailed me an invitation to take part in the 5km breakfast run at 9am the day before. I'm not going to run for a couple of days before my half, according to Mr Hal Higdon. But they're taunting me with a free T-shirt....... I really need to hit delete before I end up clicking the sign up button and ruining all the well-laid plans.....

I always run the day before a big race. I would suggest you do run this 5k, but take it easy. We call it a "shakeout run" or something like that, but really easy run the day before a half, a full, or even an ultra is advised often, and something I firmly believe in.3 -

It dropped from highs in the 80s to 40-50 degrees in 24 hours. It was 47 degrees when I started running this morning. It was so wonderful! I only got regular people sweaty. Woot! Temps in the 40s (Fahrenheit) is officially my favorite running weather.

I think a very easy run would make sense as well, but I sure admit I'd be tempted to race the darned thing simply because it is a race! *grabs cup of coffee, pours it into my mug*5 -
Thanks everybody for the congrats on grandbaby!
@7lenny7 - I didn't even open up your pics at all. Too funny how you and others on here, love hearing all the medical stuff. I don't even watch my dog get shots and never did with my kids either. And with me, of course. I just turn my head completely away when giving blood.

Went inside today to avoid the cold & rain. At least it was an interval day which makes it less boring on the treadmill. Long run Sunday - probably looking at an 8 or 10 miler.
Enjoying everyone's posts (and "liking" and not "wooing" them). Have a great weekend, folks.

At least one of them involves chocolate so that's all we need to know!4

One is a little chocolate/orange tart - biscuit base, chocolate mousse filling with orange and a hazelnut and chocolate decoration. The other was breakfast - ricotta hot cakes with lemon curd, marscapone, and meringue and toasted whites chocolate. So yum.9 -
