The opposite happened in my marriage. My husband HATED the smelled of cooking onions, so I told him that I was willing to limit the number of times I cooked them per week, but not eliminate them (to be fair, he also cooks some things that I hate the smell of and I just deal with those). After a year or so, he began saying he actually enjoyed the smell. And now he cooks them himself and eats them all the time.2 -

I love chili, but prefer it extra watery and super plain.0

Meat and fruit do not go together in any combination.
Except tomatoes...technically a fruit, I know.2 -

There are physical reasons why fruit should be eaten alone0 -

Uch I hate fruit alone. I like it on top of pancakes or waffles, with yogurt, cottage cheese, whipped cream, meat (haha), in a cake, pie, crumble. Even in wine2 -

The only fruit I like eaten alone are raspberries, blackberries and blueberries. Everything else is too sweet alone0 -

I like grapes, watermelon and pineapple alone. That's about it. I find fruit too sour I don't love sour things.0 -

Except for said hawaiian pizza, I normally eat my fruit as a separate entity.0 -

Odds that, shaped by millennia of food scarcity, evolution shaped typical humans to thrive best by combining or not combining foods in very particular ways at very particular times?
Very, very low, IMO.9 -

Ergo, apple cider donuts.
I'm also not a fan of drinking apple cider, but apple and fall spices in black tea, especially when accompanied by a healthy shot of bourbon, is a different story5 -

Some people, not all, do better with certain food combinations. I for one feel much better with fruit on an empty stomach.0 -
Ketchup is a bad condiment. If you must pour corn syrup on your food, commercial BBQ sauces have slightly more character.0

Agreed. Pork chops and apples too.
And, of course, ham and pineapple, on pizza. ;-)
Guac goes well with plenty of dishes that involve meat.
I often have fruit with breakfast, less often meat (most often smoked salmon), but if I did have meat it wouldn't mean I wouldn't have the fruit.3 -

I wouldn't question someone's specified n = 1. We all have our individual things - I for sure do! 😆
Putting it as a general principle, though . . . that's where evidence beyond n = 1 is helpful, IMO - which is possibly not a popular opinion, so arguably on topic. 🤣6 -

Yes, I tend to believe anyone who says "[Eating behavior] makes me feel not good," because obviously I am not inside their body and it's ridiculous for me to insist that it doesn't. And I've felt not good after some foods that other people seem to thrive on. But this is very different from blanket statements that it's a bad idea to practice that eating behavior.
I know for me personally, when I eat fruit by itself I feel hungry very quickly afterwards. Sometimes I even feel unpleasantly "sugar rushy." But when I eat fruit as part of meal, none of that applies. So I feel like I personally have very good physical reasons to eat fruit with other things because the alternative is to not eat it at all.6 -

I find them good if the cheese has a high enough fat content, but a lot of them don't so the cheese ends up really gummy in texture when the temperature cools.2 -

That looks really good tho.1 -

Ok, that reminds me of ONE exception that I'll make...bacon-wrapped dates. Those are good.
I can't stand apples and pork, or fruit relish on fish, and don't get me started on the pineapple pizza. Just. Don't.0
