I think you can manually add using the calendar

I’m about to check and see if what I just walked synced properly

I didn’t know you could sync your tracker. I did 3.4 miles on the treadmill and I entered it manually.

Seems like I have to sync/disconnect/sync - this is a PITA! So, I will probably enter manually point forward.

Also, syncing your tracker gives you the misc steps. I really don’t want to count my walks to the bathroom or walking around my office - I want to count TRUE INTENTIONAL EXERCISE.

I am counting anything right now. We are hanging out in hospital for the next 5 days . We have gotten a hotel room so I was able to use treadmill today. Yesterday I just roamed around hospital hallways.

I walked 8 miles this morning and Strava synced it correctly! I’m liking this challenge even though I won’t even get close to 2019 miles next year but thanks for introducing us to it, OP!

Ok, the family has left, food has been put away and kitchen cleaned.

I am proud of my 5k today. I shaved 0:45 off each mile from the race 2 weeks ago. This makes me happy.

I am really trying to focus on my form and not just finishing. My oldest daughter, who is in the military, suggested that I focus on lengthening my strides and paying close attention to how much time neither foot was on the ground.

The stride thing made perfect sense, but my time off the ground.... that seemed bizarre to me initially, but once I was seeing it in action it made sense, too

The course today was much hillier than the last. The ups was easier to focus on strides. The downs I focused on both. It really felt good to feel the longer strides and floating down the hills.

47 ran/ 50 committed. I’ll hit my Nov goal tomorrow. 100 for December!!

I did 5.2 miles today. It was not nearly as cold as yesterday.
    @Beka3695 Way to go.
@boehle Good luck. You'll do fine.

Careful about lengthening stride -- long strides can lead to more jarring strikes, more heel striking, and injury. I found I needed to focus on faster cadence and shorten my strides after an injury. In my head longer strides = faster (I am short), but that's not really true.

I am taller than average and my strides can be quite short. Turtle like, even. I have noticed that my strides can get to half of what my walking stride is... I'm not trying to do an extreme lengthening by any means, but trying to get closer to that of my natural walk.

Secondly, I have been SO LAZY the for the last couple days. Mondays are always quite hectic so I plan to be back in the game again Tuesday.

I am at 29.5 miles. That 1/2 marathon whooped my butt Saturday.. so I expect this week will be low.

Thanks to the holiday and having two days off last week and unusually warm temperatures I walked 27.9 miles last week! Winter weather will strike soon so I know I won't be able to keep up this pace but it feels pretty good at the moment.

I was just getting back into a regular morning run routine, but we just got hit with loads of snow. Slippery sidewalks is always a worse issue for me in the winter than cold.

The laziness ends TODAY!!!! I have been SO SLACK since Saturday. I am pledging 4 miles on the elliptical tonight!

Secondly, my December goal was 100 miles. I think I need to reduce that to 75 and save 100 for January.
This is my attempt to be accountable and realistic!

Signed up for this (am working on just building a base and dealing with getting back into winter running now, so not going to focus on numbers beyond my running schedule until 2019). I am definitely going to have to count walking as well as running. I am going to plan out a race schedule now for motivation! ;-)

I’m at 29.2 - I’m feeling pretty good about this considering you ran a HM!

I’ve just spread mine out more :D

Definitely mine. I'm deciding between a few for early next year (Feb at the earliest, April at the latest).

Ok so I just found this thread where I just learned about run the year. I checked out the website and I am excited about it. My hesitation in joining is that it costs money to join. I really don't care about the metals and t-shirt and other stuff. I'd be doing this for my health and to lose weight. Is there a free version of this?
