Hopping in on this round too!
female, 39, 5'5"
Original Start Weight: 167.5 (April 2018)
Ultimate Goal Weight: 135 (or thereabouts)
Current Weight: 150.6
Round goals:
-Maintain weight (my mom is in the hospital following surgery for a brain bleed so I foresee a bit of a relaxed focus on tracking calories on my part)
-Squeeze in 20 minutes of exercise at least 4 times (I've been very lax about this, so I need to ease back in)
-Take time to enjoy the holiday season...bonus points for non-food ways.
Day/Weight/Comment
12/14 - 150.0 (-.6 from yesterday, -.6 from round start)
12/15 - 150.0 (0.0 from yesterday, -.6 from round start. I'm bracing myself for the number likely on the scale tomorrow, after eating both lunch and supper out. Though I did get a 40 minute walk in, and am getting better about not making myself eat all that's served in a restaurant meal.)

This is my ninth round. I am thinking this is the perfect way to move through December, with mini-goals, support and comraderie. I would love to be at 155 by Christmas but will be happy just being solidly in the 150s! Let's make this a month of mindful celebrations taking time to appreciate our loved ones, our health, and our progress on this journey!

12/14 -- 160.5 -- Mildly frustrated with this. Ate super well yesterday with huge deficit. Ran 3/4 of my 4 mile "walk". Possibly fluid retention from lots of exercise yesterday, but hoping to see this number down tomorrow! Could also be fluid retention from late night scotch after a stressful day!
12/15 -- 159.5 -- Still looking fro the 158.5 I had for many days last week. Today I went to zumba and then baked 800 cookies and made dough for another 400. The goal is 3600 cookies by Monday! I only ate two...so that wasn't too bad!

@doseofcrazy, So sorry that your mother is ill. She's in my prayers tonight.
@FarmerCarla, I loved reading your story and your after pic is awesome! You'll get there again.
kmfeig87, Nice loss! Your closing spoiler has two different brackets and needs a forward slash to close the code [ and } / thats why the code is showing and the spoiler is not working. Should be like this without the spaces within brackets.

@fraukazi Definitely keep some record of what you are eating when you can’t log. When we cruise, I snap a picture of my plate before I start eating and keep a little pad in my purse so I can write things down. Those notes go in my MFP journal in my phone and become part of my “yay, I have internet again” post.
@tiabirdie56 Look how far you have come in 15 months! I hadn’t looked at your spoiler before!
@doseofcrazy Prayers for you and your mom.
@deepwoodslady You are to be commended for catching up on 17 days of posts! That’s almost 2 full rounds! YIKES!! I’m having trouble catching up on 2 days!
Oops...so sorry. I meant 17 PAGES of posts. That was the last of R61 and all of round 62. Sorry for the mistake. But it was still a lot since I read each tidbit and every single morsel and I even pick the crumbs up and put them in my pocket lest I need them later
@FarmerCarla Thanks so much for sharing your story and photo. You've given me another dose of hope. Thanks for sharing that this really can be done!

@kmfeig87 - you're almost there - the words need a square bracket ] on the end instead of the other kind } and the slash needs to go the other way [/spoiler]
@doseofcrazy – Sorry about your Mom, how is she doing?
@FarmerCarla - Well you don't look at all like the little piggy but it sure is cute!
@aFit50 - I like that - fitfam.
@quiltingjaine - Have you tried out any of the indie pattern makers? They are more realistic in their sizing and offer more options (like more than one cup size). They also have lots of pictures of their patterns made up by real people. Here are a few I have been looking at:
https://itch-to-stitch.com/ - if you click on the Pattern Release Announcement in the description it takes you to photos submitted by other sewers. Kennis, the designer behind itch-to-stitch and the lovely lady in the photos, has a Fb group and is always quick to answer questions. I'm hoping to make up one of her shirts this next month.
https://www.cashmerette.com/
https://grainlinestudio.com/ - I made a tank from them in the summer - some alterations as I am a very short, apple shape - but it worked out better than any I've made in the past.

During December I just want to make it out of the month alive and without too much damage. I have slowly inched myself into the 180’s. I want to get back into the 170’s and maintain (at the very minimum). I want to increase my exercising now that my livingroom renovation is complete. I want to get all my steps in and incorporate more & more of the great ideas you all have shared. My personal goals are the greatest presents that I can give to myself during this most Holy month of celebrations. This is my way of saying Merry Christmas to me. Your ideas and comments are the greatest presents that I could ever receive from all of you. Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays to us all!*****

Day/Weight/Comment:
12/14 - University Hospital appointment went very well. They are not recommending a mastectomy for me, at this point. They do want to do fat injections into the one that was surgically altered after my partial mastectomy which would require several procedures (lots of travel). First I must lose whatever weight that I chose to lose. This is because any fat they inject can be lost as I lose weight (like any fat on my body). Then, when I am satisfied with my weight loss, I call them and they set up the process of beginning the fat transplanting. Because of the 60 pound loss so far (I speak loosely due to my recent gains during fall & travels), I may need a breast lift on the good side which has some volume loss. This will not increase my breast size, nor reduce it, but get me back to my normal (whatever that is now with the weight I’ve lost) but with symmetry. I am thrilled at the prospect of a normal bra and a normal look again. Yayyyyy. Thanks to all the well wishers and the likes and hugs. I did okay with the diet yesterday, but caved a little during the Pool Hall outing. I weighed myself this morning but forgot to write it down. I know it was in the 180 range but I don’t remember if it was in the 180 range or in the 181 range. I will post tomorrow before I travel for some more Christmas shopping. I am over 2 hours from a mall. But about 1 ½ hours from here is a town that has a few larger stores. It’s not great, but it will help get more done for sure! I am also shopping online like crazy, when able. Lots of sitting! I am going to take a baggie of almonds with me tomorrow so I will stop less and eat less. Please God, help me with those big town temptations!
12/15 - 180.6 Went out of town shopping. Lots of steps in. Mindful of calories but over on carbs & not enough liquids. Shop till I drop mentality.

🎄 8 Days to Christmas Eve 🎄- Let's face it! We are all human.
- Christmas is a time for celebration. We can CHOOSE whether or not to indulge.
- As long as we do so in moderation, there shouldn't be too much damage.
- Indulgence has it's consequences, but they are only temporary.
- Own them, and get back on track.

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieve permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

Day/Weight/Comment
This is going to be a difficult week
12/14 - 11st 12lb - no loss, but no gain - so I'm ok. Had a choice of a lot of food yesterday evening but just had
one small cake and biscuit, instead of several sweet offerings, including mince pies. Kept within calories.
12/15 - 11st 12.2lb - disappointed because, as always, I weighed everything yesterday and I kept within my calorie allowance and due to walking I also had a good calorie deficit so could easily have had more.
12/16 - 11st 12.8lb - another increase. I weighed and measured everything yesterday and my calorie intake was 1161 calories. I've not yet got to the party days!!!!

12/13 - 252.0 - End R61 - starting weight for this round.
12/14 - 253.4 - Nothing to worry about. 3168 cals yesterday. I was super hungry all day and gave in to it. For the 3 days before yesterday, my calories averaged 1506/day and that seems to be my "1200". I can't do too many days in a row at that level. I can lose a lot of weight quickly but I get too hungry & tired. That's without even exercising. I should probably aim for at least 1600 - 1700 per day and perhaps that would help me avoid the high calorie days. ***ETA: I just changed my daily goal to 1700. Hopefully that'll help me find a balance.
12/15 - 254.4 - Oops! I seem to sabotage my efforts whenever I get close to a milestone. 4010 calories yesterday!
12/16 - 254.6 - I did okay yesterday (1721) and we went for a nice, long walk but it's going to take a few days to turn around from two very high calorie days. I changed my limit back to 1500 this morning. I have to find those wits!

12/14 - 133 - 1550 - 25 min
OK, the self-delusion is over and I'm not going to kid myself into eating more cookies & candies. I've had more the past week than I've had in the past 4 years! OTOH, I am back to regular walking (though not up to my goal time yet - amazing how quickly we get out of shape) and I started walk/run intervals yesterday. So I'm adding exercise minutes to my accountability for this session. I do think some of this extra weight is water, but I don't like the trend, so I've had a stern talk with myself!I'm off to get blood drawn to recheck inflammation levels - I hope they're down more, but in any case I feel quite a bit better other than pain in my shoulders, esp. in the morning.
12/15 - 133.6 - 1568 - 60 min
Time lag from Wed & Thurs excesses, but I ate better yesterday and walked an hour. I also am thrilled that my lab tests show my inflammation is way down from what it was, though still slightly elevated, and I am more determined than ever not to take prednisone long term. So while I will continue to enjoy the season for the next 10 or so days, I'm veering back toward the anti-inflammation/elimination approach to eating that I was on for much of the summer and fall to try to get back in the normal zone. I'm also going to start running intervals again 3 days a week (I haven't for almost a year so I'm really out of shape!) and, if I can haul myself out of bed at 5 am, to swim laps several days a week. Happy weekend, all!
