Hopping in on this round too!
female, 39, 5'5"
Original Start Weight: 167.5 (April 2018)
Ultimate Goal Weight: 135 (or thereabouts)
Current Weight: 150.6
Round goals:
-Maintain weight (my mom is in the hospital following surgery for a brain bleed so I foresee a bit of a relaxed focus on tracking calories on my part)
-Squeeze in 20 minutes of exercise at least 4 times (I've been very lax about this, so I need to ease back in)
-Take time to enjoy the holiday season...bonus points for non-food ways.

For anyone that's discouraged about their weight loss not being linear, here's mine so far.
For anyone that feels like quitting because it looks like others are doing better than you, please know that EVERYONE struggles!!! Don't quit! Keep at it! Don't be embarrassed by gains or bad days of eating. We've ALL been there! You're not alone.
This used to bug the hell out of me but no more, especially thanks to daily weighing and being honest with my food diary. Through doing those two things, it's shown me that bad days aren't the end of the world and ups & downs are all part of the process. As long as the trend is down, I'm happy.
I've made my food diary public in case anyone wants to snoop. Some days are downright scary! lol
I also want to chime in and say that this group has really helped me in staying accountable and I really appreciate all the likes and hugs! It's very comforting to see others having the same struggles and successes and I don't feel so alone.

Good morning! First day. And yes- this is a great thing to do just before Christmas... haha. But hey- it could help me from gaining, right?

12/14: 198. I didn't actually weigh in today since I am traveling for work, but I weighed in yesterday knowing I wouldn't get to weigh in today, and I'm counting that. I'm disappointed, I've gained 9 lbs since July, after losing 15 lbs the few months before that. It's been a bit of a roller coaster and my motivation has been in short supply. But, passing 200 again is kind of a dire situation, so I'm motivated to try to bring my weight back down again.

Here we are again. Looked over all my rounds and realized that I’ve only lost around 3 lb. total. 😖 I’d lost about 4 lb. on MFP before joining this challenge. New maxim: each round counts.Round 39 (1st for me) – SW 163, loss -.2Round 62 – 160.2 Goal this round: under 159, I think this is doable and I need to challenge myself more.

I’m going to apply to go on a short course in April. That is 12-15 weeks away (about 10 rounds). So my more immediate goal is to lose 1 lb/round. The course is something I’ve wanted to do for a very long time – I don’t have to lose weight for it but it would be sweet if I did.
Ultimate Goal Weight – 128; Hoping to be under 140 by end of June.
Day/Weight/Comment
12/14 – 161.2 – Not sure why I’m up as yesterday was quite good. If I hang in there I think it won’t last. I haven’t gotten to the gym this week though because of this cold, so maybe it’s that and drinking a lot (to keep the coughing under control)

For others who may have found their MFP feed and especially @abowersgirl I don't think you broke MFP by linking your fitbit up to your account. My feed has not been updating for two days now, and I know that many of my MFP friends' feeds have not updated either. As one friend said....it's like a ghost town and the only way to find people is to knock on their door. You can still communicate by going to someone's personal feed, by clicking on their name. Of course, they can only see your comment if they click on their own name to go to their own personal feed! Glad this forum still works! Otherwise I don't know how I'd combat MFP withdrawal!6

ROUND 62 (Round 9 for me)
5’5” 66 y/o Texas Lady
SW 178 lb.
GW 135-140 lb.
Started Keto WOE on September 24th (2018). Still experiencing decreased arthritis hip and shoulder pain since the second week of Keto. Staying within calorie limits is easy enough, but not exceeding my carb limit is difficult. Per my KetoMojo meter, I’m in ketosis most of the time. Some of my NSVs: my wedding band fits, I wear smaller clothing, and my progress has encouraged my husband to try harder to end his cigarette habit.
Rounds 54 – 61 resulted in a cumulative loss of 24 lb.
Day/Weight/Comment
12/14 151.6 Starting with a loss—I like that. Until now, I haven’t established a round goal, but, this time, my goal is to get below 150 and never exceed that number again. I changed my final goal weight to a range. In that range, I'll be able to wear my size 6 slacks/jeans again, without looking too skinny. In my younger days, prior to the early 1990's and rampant vanity sizing, a regular size 10 was equivalent to today's size 6. I read that Marilyn Monroe was a size 14, which would probably make her about a size 10 in today's sizing. Of course, I've noticed, in general, that the more expensive the clothing, the more generous the sizing. (My only expensive clothing is used. ) Whatever, my goal is getting closer, and I'm excited!

12/13: 238.5 Starting weight. Today was my rest day from the gym and dealt with a migraine for a nice chunk of the day, so didn't eat much until this evening(3 slices of cheese pizza and 4 small oatmeal chocolate chip cookies that I made for my boyfriend... he won't miss them!) I still was under my goal, but I am expecting a higher weigh in tomorrow morning. Did not drink as much water as I had wanted to.
12/14: 238.5 again today. Realised that I put 239 for some reason yesterday(actually logged same as yesterday). I made it to the gym this morning and put 30mins on the arc trainer, and 26 on the elliptical. I took my mom for surgery this morning, and had to call out of work because it took so long. I ended up only having a banana during this time, and we bought subway after she got out. I DEFINITELY ate more than I planned to, but am going to try to remain good for the rest of the afternoon. I am traveling up to my boyfriend's house tonight, and do not know if he has a scale, so I may just have to weigh in Monday if that is the case. Will focus on water, logging(when possible) and will try for a workout this weekend at some point.

After several days of travel I have caught up on 17 days of posts!
@dowhatrightis We are always here whenever you need us. I too had a horrible time with my father growing up. Alcoholism played a big part in it. When he died I had very mixed feelings. On one hand, I had a "natural" instinct to be sad. I remembered some of the very small and very infrequent good things he did. Not always for his own family-sometimes for others. But mostly, I was very angry about what my mother, my siblings and myself had been through. As one of the older children, some of my bros & sis's just don't remember it all. The abuse, the lying, the cheating, the drinking, the MIA stunts he would pull. While he was sick in the hospital, I chose to go to the hospital several times (in another state) not so much for him, but to support my younger brothers and sisters, and my aunts and uncles on his side that were good and righteous people but who were grieving so badly. When he died, I stood by their side at the funeral and helped the younger ones (all adults) through the process, as an older sister. But I did not forget what life had been like with him. This all happened in 1991 and I still have not fully forgiven in the way I should 100%, but time does help. Anyone who loves you, is a dear friend to you or who respects you (as I do) will support you in your decisions. I am with you, no matter what you decide and I will wholeheartedly agree that whatever you choose is the right choice for you. I am on your side no matter what, and you are not alone in your feelings. Your father may not have always done what was right for you, so to take the opportunity to do what is right for yourself now is 100% fair and 100% okay.
@TonyB0588 I think everyone on MFP loves our data and uses it to track our progress. Just in case you don't know how, here is how to keep your progress by using a spoiler (we all love to read eachother's progress!)
Start with this: [spoiler}
Then add your information by copying and pasting from another saved source, or typing it in.
End with the same way you started but add a backslash after the first bracket like this: bracket backslash spoiler end bracket.
This way you and others can easily continue to track. I hope this helps.
@AR10at50 You did awesome last round! However, I am with you (and with Tish too according to one of her posts). I have spent a few days of travel placing me back in the 180 range. But I have spent all of Fall & now part of winter in the 170's and I am so so ready to move on! To decide this in December is well.....unrealistic for me. But I strive to drop what I can, keep my water weight in check, get back in the ballpark and get into the 160's likety split and ASAP. The 3 of us seem to have the same exact goal right now, beat those 170's and get into those 160's. Lets remember, December is a roadblock, not a brick wall. We'll get past it together!10 -

Back again! I am honestly just going to try and maintain this round. If I lose an ounce I will be thrilled! We have my DH work Christmas party, my work party, a cookie and candy making family party, and this one ends on a Sunday. Plus we have family coming in Christmas weekend and they are staying with us. The next couple of weeks are going to be rough! I was really hoping to hit the 30 pound mark by the end of the year. I'm close, but don't think it is realistic that I will lose another 2 or 3 pounds by then. I'm happy with what I have done though this year, so I will take it! Good luck everyone!
Day/Weight/Comment
12/14 - 151.1 back up a little from yesterday. I was under calories, but I did have a peach turnover at 9:00 and dinner at 8:30. Both my daughters 10 and 16 had choir performances at 2 different schools last night. So my husband and I had to juggle seeing both of them and getting dinner done for the other kids. I didn't want to eat out, but I ended up eating really late when we got home. Hopefully I can bring it back down, but I have my DH work Christmas party tonight and then candy and cookie baking with the fam tomorrow. So we will see what happens. All I know is this is a once a year thing, so I will try and make smart decisions, but I am going to enjoy it and have fun! Seeing that 149.xxx would be really nice this round though!

Hi everybody. I wasn't here for many challenges, I'm trying to come back. I gained so much weight, I afraid to weigh myself. But I'll start to see a dietitian on Monday (12/17), so I'll add my weight on 12/17. Until Monday, I'll add my comments for each day.

I overate today, I took so much sugar and carb. Every day I feel like I have to eat sugar/junk food, I really addicted. Not a good day, but at least I walked 8200 steps with my heavy backpack.

About me: 62, 5'7", hit maintenance in March 2018 and, typical yoyo, currently bouncing back up over original goal weight of 130. Want to get back to 127-128.
Crept back to JGM10D quietly in Round 60, after intentionally sitting out a number of rounds, because I need the daily accountability that worked before.
12/14 - 130.2 - surprised by this starting weight, it feels undeservedly low. Just under maintenance yesterday, 10000 steps. Very little sleep last night and a wild weekend stacked up around work, so we will see ........

Day/Weight/Comment:
12/14 - University Hospital appointment went very well. They are not recommending a mastectomy for me, at this point. They do want to do fat injections into the one that was surgically altered after my partial mastectomy which would require several procedures (lots of travel). First I must lose whatever weight that I chose to lose. This is because any fat they inject can be lost as I lose weight (like any fat on my body). Then, when I am satisfied with my weight loss, I call them and they set up the process of beginning the fat transplanting. Because of the 60 pound loss so far (I speak loosely due to my recent gains during fall & travels), I may need a breast lift on the good side which has some volume loss. This will not increase my breast size, nor reduce it, but get me back to my normal (whatever that is now with the weight I’ve lost) but with symmetry. I am thrilled at the prospect of a normal bra and a normal look again. Yayyyyy. Thanks to all the well wishers and the likes and hugs. I did okay with the diet yesterday, but caved a little during the Pool Hall outing. I weighed myself this morning but forgot to write it down. I know it was in the 180 range but I don’t remember if it was 180 point something range or 181 point something range. And now I've already had a pot of coffee and my first meal! I will post tomorrow before I travel for some more Christmas shopping. I am over 2 hours from a mall. But about 1 ½ hours from here is a town that has a few larger stores. It’s not great, but it will help get more done for sure! I am also shopping online like crazy, when able. Lots of sitting! I am going to take a baggie of almonds with me tomorrow so I will stop less and eat less. Please God, help me with those big town temptations!

@bisonpitcher, So glad you're feeling better and back to your normal routine!
@DebCountsAll, Excellent Debbie!
@Birder165, I'm gonna send you a friend request so you can keep an eye on my carb status, lol. I gotta GET OUT of this decade!
@deepwoodslady, So glad to see you back Donna! You, me, @AR10at50, @AJB1014, @Snowflake1968, @allmannerofthings, @eatingfoodles, @motheroftwins95, who did I miss? A LOT OF US in the 170's, and some of us have been parked here for whatever the reason. I'm getting out. Who's with me? @TonyB0588, You dance up and down the 170's too. Let's get OUT!
On a crazy note, because I know I was looking crazy. I was wearing 3 different sizes of clothing yesterday. 16/18 pants, way baggy, but oh so warm velour. I can't afford to replace everything right now, just hanging around home anyway. A size 12/14 tank top. I use my tank tops as undershirts. Since losing so much weight, I feel cold and need the extra layer. An 8/10 long sleeve shirt. Surprisingly the bigger shirt underneath doesn't look bulky. I bought a pair of size 12 jeans. They're going to be too big in a month I'm afraid. They look a tiny bit saggy in the butt without a belt.12 -

Thanks for continuing with this group @GrandmaJackie! It has helped me stay on track so much!
My name is Jen. I’ve been sitting at the low 200s for a while now trying everything to get my weight to budge. A great MFP friend suggested this group and so far it’s helping! The weight is still moving at a snails pace but at least it’s moving!

@FarmerCarla, Vanity sizing is just that, vanity. I just bought size 12 jeans, yet I am not the weight or measurements of a true size 12. I used to be a size 12, or 11/12 when I was young, which is now equivalent to a size 8. So that actually makes me 1970's size 16!8

@tiabirdie56 Sounds good! I sent a friend request your way. I need some overeating accountability.

I am with you. But I just have to disagree with the word "parked". At least for me, I have been anything but parked. If you can imagine a jalopy going up and down in the parking space without ever leaving it - I mean a foot up into the space, a foot down the space, that has been me. Lots of movement both ways without ever really getting anywhere. Honestly, all I have been doing is wearing my tires out and using up all of my fuel without any accomplishment whatsoever! So, yesssssss on getting out! I am WITH YOU ALL THE WAY. If I don't reach the 160's by sometime in January then I am going to cry into my Parsley tea and call it my sodium for the day!
In regards to clothing: I am the opposite of you. You feel your size 12's will be too big in January. I, however, am trying to get into my size 12's I've been buying and hope to DO SO by January. Currently comfortably in the 14's, I can only wear the 12 jeans that have the bit of stretch to the fabric. I am proud, however, that I can now wear zip & button jeans. My vow to myself is to never wear elastic waist jeans again! You are right about vanity sizing and I had just NEVER thought of it. After birthing 3 children (and raising 4 total), I am hippier than when I was in the 1970's (and I don't mean cooler, or hipper, I do mean hippier!) Yet I can easily wear sizes I wore years ago when I was more slender overall. The clothing industry must be sponsored by the chocolate, potato chip and pretzel companies. Very interesting observations I never would have thought of.
@aFit50 Thanks so much. You are always so kind & thoughtful.

Well a day def off my routine some. Work has been having so much drama. I am trying to get laps in for walking. Today I walked inside the retirement community with an empty wheel chair for 20 min. while waiting for the client to return from the hospital. Short on waters. Tomorrow is a new day. I am off work. Need to catch up on myself. Going to make healthy soup and healthy cookies to have treats that are better for me this season. Today I was offered a junk cookie. Got an apple instead. Got some flack from someone. Oh well ! Anyways I have been learning for a long time to not throw in the towel when there is a rough day.10
