Hey I’m a newbie. Hoping to understand my trend through the 10 days and analyze what I can do differently to change and get better at my habits if I see bad habit trends.

About me: 62, 5'7", hit maintenance in March 2018 and, typical yoyo, currently bouncing back up over original goal weight of 130. Want to get back to 127-128.
Crept back to JGM10D quietly in Round 60, after intentionally sitting out a number of rounds, because I need the daily accountability that worked before.

What we need to succeed is a sustainable way of eating, not a DIET we go on and off.
This is NOT A DIET. It’s a LIFESTYLE.

@Mochiedoke @tazography @pinkfairy88 @rainykatie Welcome to newcomers and newly coming back-ers (that was me two rounds ago)
You'll find people who've lost a lot, people just starting, people trying to maintain, people trying not to yoyo again... people who do keto, people who don't eat meat at all, people who exercise a lot, people who don't at all...
What we have in common is the need for more accountability around our choices and finding this community helpful for that.
Thanks @GrandmaJackie for keeping it going and @quiltingjaine @tiabirdie56 among many others for consistently reading and responding to people's posts and concerns. and to all!15 -

Hi, I'm Christine 🙂 I am new to this challenge, and recently back on my weight loss journey. I am down 7.5 since starting my weight loss again but I would love to see how this goes for maintaining accountability for myself.
Round 62: first round
My goal for this round is to continue logging food, water and exercise, and also make it to the gym at least 4x each week before work.

12/13: 239.5 Starting weight. Today was my rest day from the gym and dealt with a migraine for a nice chunk of the day, so didn't eat much until this evening(3 slices of cheese pizza and 4 small oatmeal chocolate chip cookies that I made for my boyfriend... he won't miss them!) I still was under my goal, but I am expecting a higher weigh in tomorrow morning. Did not drink as much water as I had wanted to.

@pinkfairy88 YOU WILL DO IT!! I know right now it may seem like it sucks because you are just starting off but as long as your determined, patient and kind to yourself, you will be able to accomplish this!! I am so happy that you have decided to join the thread because reading everyone's day to days really helps keep you uplifted, motivated and prepared for any and all fluctuations and difficulties that come with this dreaded, weight loss journey. All you need to do is stick to it and try to post every day. I won't lie, if it wasn't for this group I probably wouldn't have been able to do it alone and would have probably gave up a long time ago. This group has make it easier to stay accountable and has helped me to challenge myself and push myself to do my personal best. Also there are a lot of people, myself included, that read everyone's day to days ..so if you run into frustration or are having a difficult time, don't be afraid to post...there are tons of amazing people who will respond to you and who give great advice.
YOU GOT THIS!!
what @brightresolve said was a great way to sum it all up11 -
I am a 50 year old 5'5" woman. I am trying to get healthier to avoid diabetes and all of the problems that come from being overweight.
I have found this challenge to be both rewarding and frustrating! Looking at my weight daily has been a real eye opener to see all of the fluctuations and how a high carb day will affect me and the loss for 2-3 days after.
I need to step up my game if I want to meet any of my goals.

Round 62
36y/ 173cm or 5'8"
I just realised that R61 was my last full round for the year as I'll be travelling for most of the rest of it. I am considering taking my body scales and/or my yoga mat, depends on my packing skills. The first trip next week is with work here, 3 meals catered for in a lodge, so i'll have to make the best choices available to me, but won't be logging as there is no point with it being all estimates. And then after only one night back, the second trip is for another job in Jordan over xmas followed by a few days doing a touristy tour with my mom who will come and join me. I'll be staying in a hotel (and a tent one night), so again no way of logging accurately. I think i might just keep a list of what i've put in my mouth to keep some sort of overview.
R61 end weight: 69.6kg
Fri 12/14 - 70.4kg
Yesterday went ok during the day, but work stress and feeling a little home sick drove me to wine in the evening, after I've done a bit of body weights. The wine lead to crisps, which were incredibly salty, and also chocolate and cookies. Not surprisingly, I skipped Yoga this morning - I should just admit to myself that I only ever manage to do every other day. Then, as if to confirm that I won't be logging properly, the batteries on my food scale seem to be dead. If I had my standard breakfast, I could have estimated, but in anticipation of going away, i'm using up what's left in the fridge/cupboard. Anyway, I know i'll come back to the routine in January, for now i'll focus on not giving up completely and eating all the chocolates and making most of exercise opportunities available.

Lots of cardio!
Take hormones like I'm supposed to
This is my third round. Lost 5 lbs in round 1, but wobbled up and down in round 2, because of an error with a soda (thought it was diet and wasn't) on keto. Obviously lead to food cravings, several days of higher calorie intakes, and water retention. I should just be getting out of the woods now. Another week before I'm surely out of the woods again.

14/12 Yesterday was about maintenance intake wise, ate out for dinner unexpectedly. Not a big deal, been under my calories a fair bit during the week. It's out Christmas Jumper day for charity at work with a buffet, tonight is our Christmas lights row and party with my rowing club so it's pretty much a write off in term of calories today, I'll be mindful but not going to worry as I am going sober for charity from Monday so this is my last hurrah!

Thanks Jackie, for keeping us up and running
To all the returning members and new members.
🎄 10 Days to Christmas Eve 🎄- Let's face it! We are all human.
- Christmas is a time for celebration. We can CHOOSE whether or not to indulge.
- As long as we do so in moderation, there shouldn't be too much damage.
- Indulgence has it's consequences, but they are only temporary.
- Own them, and get back on track.

Round 62
14/12: xxxxx: Goal
THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieve permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

Day/Weight/Comment
12/14 - 144.5 - I'm down just in time for a tax planning lunch with a client. I checked the menu and there's no real low calorie options. I'm just planning to bring half of the lunch back and I'll give it to my husband to eat over the weekend.

My goal for this round is to keep my wits about me! I'd also like to get in to the 240s during this round.
12/13 - 252.0 - End R61 - starting weight for this round.
12/14 - 253.4 - Nothing to worry about. 3168 cals yesterday. I was super hungry all day and gave in to it. For the 3 days before yesterday, my calories averaged 1506/day and that seems to be my "1200". I can't do too many days in a row at that level. I can lose a lot of weight quickly but I get too hungry & tired. That's without even exercising. I should probably aim for at least 1600 - 1700 per day and perhaps that would help me avoid the high calorie days. ***ETA: I just changed my daily goal to 1700. Hopefully that'll help me find a balance.
