I have a little challenge going w/DDD and SIL starting the 1st. I am a walker...I've walked for years but have injured my foot. Doc has taken my walking shoes away until my foot heals. It could be months. uuggghhh! DH and I will start riding the recumbent bike that sits in the computer room covered with dust. **sigh** Still, I'm getting my exercise in and even tho it is not the same as walking outside in the sunshine or rain...I'm happy that I have an alternative. I also workout with our trainer three times a week.

I’m super happy for this week’s number and this is why. I used my final weight for Dec as my starting weight not my actual January 1st number 186.4. Our NYE event was probably a 10,000 calorie carb loaded feast I went up 4lbs in one night and it took me 6 days of super hard work to get back down. Knowing this I could not in good faith put down 186.4 and have it look like I dropped 4lbs in a week.
Now back to my regularly scheduled 1.5lbs per week! I’m dedicated to hitting my goal weight this year.5 -

1/05 -177.2 - Had no appetite most of the day yesterday, runny nose, gut in an uproar, whole 9 yards of misery. Took some cold medicine late afternoon and then proceeded to overeat cookies.😦
📌 1/07 - 177.2 - Coming back down. This "allergy cold" still hanging on. I will be staying under 20 grams of carbs today. (That should say net carbs.)

Thank You! Lol I know everyone says it’s not “real” or it’s just bloat or fluid when you can gain 5lbs over night, which I definitely can in a totally hedonistic fashion. It might come off relatively quick, usually about a week but it’s plenty “real” if I don’t get back to the grind- eat quality food, count those calories and workout hard. Because some how all of that fake weight and water retention had me up to 242 lbs. That number was real, it was a result of my choices.
While I’m on my soapbox can I just say any loss is a reason to celebrate. 1/2 a pound in a week is amazing, .1 is just fine. Staying the same is ok too. Heck we even go up sometimes on this roller coaster. Just keep going, I know slow is frustrating but it works. I’m reading a lot of disappointment in 1lb a week or more loss. But that’s how we get to 5lbs a month and beyond.
This monthly challenge has helped me have realistic goals. Would I like to lose 10bs this month? Sure but I’m just going to aim for five and I’ll keep going if it’s just 2lbs.
