Although Iβm up a few pounds from last round, Iβm still down about 40 lbs. from a year ago. It feels amazing to be starting the new year with a healthy bmi. My goal this round is to start moving back down to the mid 140βs.

I am on the other side of having a bilateral mastectomy and I let my emotions lead me to gain about 25lbs.
I regret the addition to my hips, but I am so glad to make it into 2019 cancer free. This year is for me... to
get healthy and eat the way I should and in turn loss about 25 to 30lbs.
I worked the keto diet last year, and it worked. I am a little burned out on keto and look to add more fruit and veggies to my diet. This is my first time doing a Round, I would like to lose 5lbs this go of it.
May we all be successful in our quest for a more healthier year!!

I am a 50 year old 5'5" woman. I am trying to get healthier to avoid diabetes and all of the problems that come from being overweight.
I have found this challenge to be both rewarding and frustrating! Looking at my weight daily has been a real eye opener to see all of the fluctuations and how a high carb day will affect me and the loss for 2-3 days after. I have been participating in this challenge since Round 40, thanks @GrandmaJackie. My average loss/gain since Round 40 to 63 is a 0.5lb loss each round. This was better than I expected!

Is anyone doing Yoga with Adriene's Dedicate? I meant to start today with day 1 (the video isn't available until I leave the house in the morning) but then found it was too long for the time I had available, so did an old one instead. But keen to start this eve or tomorrow morning.11 -

02/01: 168.8: Goals β Steady as she goes. Yesterday I stayed focused, chose healthy eating for 95% of my intake, and drank extra water. Glad to see it pay off. I am looking forward to continuing this downward trend in Round 64

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieve permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.
- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.
