Any other suggestions for a good snack substitute?
I have never had LNS trouble, but, I just discovered Oroville Redenbacherβs smart pop is 120 calories for half a bag/8 cups (so 15 calories per cup.)

First round for me, and excited to join! Female, 52 years old
SW: 230 lbs 1/1/19
mini GW: 175
Round 66
Day/Weight/Comment
01/23 222.4 lbs
01/24 222.6 lbs *sick, so no walking or exercise the past couple days. I met my daily goal for water intake and food, so I'm considering it a win.
01/25 222.2 lbs Slow recovery, so still no exercise today. But I'm holding steady with water and no wine. Hoping to get out walking tomorrow.
01/26 223.4 Yikes! Wrong way!
01/27 222.4 Back to the start, but ready to start exercising again. It's a gorgeous day for a walk outside!
01/28 223.4 How?? I had a great day; closed all my circles, drank all my water, 10K steps. My scale seems to love this number. My monthly goal was to lose 8 lbs, so I'm determined to get this down in the next 3 days!
01/29. 222.2. Finally moving in the right direction after being sick!
01/30. 221.0 Woo hoo! That number made me SMILE today!
01/31 219.8 . Met my January goal! This has reinvigorated me to keep it going!

1/30 = 151.2 this whole week has been a huge bummer. I can't make the scale move. I'm logging everything, eating within my calories. Not even eating junk. *raises fist to the sky* I really thought hitting 150 would happen this week, it seemed to attainable. I can't even get to a clean 151.

I made chicken pot pie (single crust) last night - delish! but too much fat (butter, cream...). So I believe veggie soup is on the schedule tonight or tomorrow night! On the plus side, I've been back to weight training for about 3 weeks now and have increased the weights significantly, so am happy to see that I hadn't lost all previous progress on the strength front. Note to women losing weight - take care of your bones during the process! Talk to your doctor about checking Vit D level and your possible need for D and K and magnesium, and keep up weight-bearing exercise. My last DexaScan (bone density) showed significant bone density loss, probably due to significant weight loss the previous 3 years. We have to take care of our bodies as we reshape them.
01/24 - 139.2 - 1743
Last night I made a big pot of minestrone and had that with bread I baked a couple days ago. So good! Off to the gym and planning to hunker down tomorrow - minus 20 wind chill expected. Aaack! Stay warm if you're also in the way of this!
01/25 - 139.2 - 1802
Yep, it's cold outside! Not as bad as predicted, though, so I'll go to the Y. Did I mention I'm a cold weather wimp after 8 years on the southern coast of NC? ;-) Anyway, I'm back on track food wise, finally, and have channeled my baking urge into whole-grain bread instead of cookies and cakes. Better for us and I'm not tempted between meals!

Anyone else in the cold zones inclined to hibernate until March? I love early mornings Spring though Fall, but right now I struggle to get myself out of bed in the morning. My kitten makes sure I get up, though! >^..^< Have a great weekend, all.

I seem to have found equilibrium. I haven't averaged my calories the past couple of days, but my ave should be around 1750-1800 at the moment, and I'm getting away with that because I've increased my exercise. It will increase more when we get out of the deep freeze, but I'm fine with hanging out here for a little while. Speaking of cold, we're supposed to have wind chills of -50F!!!! on Wed., so I intend to stay home and write, paint, read, bake, & cook. Maybe even clean house a little. Anything to stay in! Stay warm and safe, all of you fellow arctic adventurers!
01/29 - 139.4
Just Hangin' out, er, in! Wind rising, temp dropping, more snow possible. Must be January!
01/30 - 139.2
It's -16F here right now, with expected wind chills of -45 or colder, but we're snuggled in. And what's cozier than a cat in a window?
01/31 - 140.2
I've been eating for warmth and under exercising since I see no good reason to go out in minus degree weather if I don't have to. It's ok - better weather and exercise are coming. In the meantime I'm getting things done at home, which counts for something!

Last round I finally reached that elusive 140's decade that had been haunting/teasing me for the last couple of rounds. I hope to see a new low of 147/146 this round and continue to drop my 10 day average. I do have a 3 day family ski trip this weekend, so I am going to try and work around that and focus on my goals. I do not ski (not coordinated enough for that) but everybody else does. So I do a lot of reading, people watching, shopping, and drinking in the lodge. This round ends on a Friday, which is usually one of my lowest days of the week. So I am excited to see how this round goes.

01/23 -148.8 Back to normal after my weekend blip. Doing good today and have my lunch and water mapped out. DH and I have dinner plans with all 5 of our kids tonight. It is really hard to get everybody together anymore now that they are so busy with there own lives. We are going to Red Lobster so should be easy to stay in calories as long as I stay away from the rolls. 2 more days and we will be on vacation.
01/24 - 149.4 Up just a bit probably from dinner last night. I cheated and ate 1 of the roll (worth it), other than that did great. Work half day today, then my son has an orthodontist appt and my daughter has a cleaning at the dentist. Tonight packing and getting ready for out trip. Will weigh tomorrow, but the hubby said the scale is not coming with us, lol. So no weigh in after that until Monday. Hopefully it's not going to be to terrible.
01/25 - 149.4 didn't do great last night. Had a left over roll from Red Lobster and 2 beers. Lol, DH and I started our vacation a bit early. The rest of the day was good and I had a low calorie dinner. Leaving in about an hour and will try and update, but won't have weights. Hope everybody has a great weekend and hope my weight isn't to terrible on Monday.
01/26 - VACATION - no scale
01/27 - VACATION - no scale
01/28 - 153.4 totally expected. No where near enough water this weekend and extremely tired. Our weekend vaca was so busy and over so quick. Had fun though and glad we got to spend time with the family. Drove home last night and I could tell I was dehydrated. Although I did sleep great for the first time since Thursday. This bump will be gone by tomorrow. Water, clean food, and sleep tonight are my goals. Looking to finish this month and 10 day challenge off right this week. Looking for my 147.xxx to pop up on the scale!
01/29 - 150.8 did well yesterday, so I expected a pretty good water weight loss. Tomorrow I should be back down to normal weight. No alcohol at all this week until the Super Bowl is my goal. Would love to loose 1 more pound by the end of this round. I have 2 weeks before we leave for Vegas, so my goal is to be 145 when I get on that plane. We will see if it happens.
01/30 - 148.5 nice! I'm back down with an extra couple of ounces. Did really well yesterday, no alcohol, tons of water, and ate under calories, so expected it to come back down. Now if I can just stay on track for the next 2 days and finish strong.
01/31 - 148.5 Nice ending to the month. Lost a total of 3.9 pounds for January, so I can't really complain about that. The closer I get to my actual goal the slower my progress gets, but that's ok. I will take what I can get. Stayed on track yesterday with calories and water, also day 3 of no alcohol or sugary drink of any kind completed. Hopefully will finish the round strong tomorrow.

Good morning from the rainy Central Coast of California.
Lovely to see everyone here. I took a much needed break from Everything, except work. I've been doing well with losing my extras and getting some workouts in. Christmas wasn't overly crazy, so I didn't have a big jump, only 2 pounds.
Last challenge weight was 135.0 on 12/23/2018.
Today's weight is 130.0.
I may participate in the next challenge because I really enjoy everyone here.13 -

@FarmerCarla I hadn't heard about that.
Also - for anyone who's posted pet pictures.......are you doing that via the MFP app on your phone or on your computer? I've seen a cat in a window, a cat in a lap, and a dog in a bed. My cat has been jumping from box to box and just sitting there. He's so cute! Wish I could share.
I haven't shared yet, but I saw a cute one with the cat in his round striped bed yesterday that I wished I had my camera for. Anyways I would take the pic on my phone and upload to the computer with the cord plugged from the computer to the phone. Save the pictures to documents perhaps. At the top of when you are typing a message here you will find an icon "attach files", press on that to start attaching the file you want. Let us know if you need more help. It is probably easier with the app, but I am on the computer most often.9 -

01/23 162.6 Hoping to get back on track today with food and eating. Last month I was on a juice fast for three days during my time of the month, so it was hard to see what the weight fluctuations looked like. I started today so will start tracking that going forward since I already can feel myself retaining water more than usual.
01/24 161.6 Had a great day yesterday, but all day today I have had a splitting headache so was unable to go the gym. I have been drinking a lot of water and did stay in my calorie allowance, so hoping for a good weigh in tomorrow and for this headache to leave.
01/25 161.7 Thankfully, I woke up with no headache so already starting off today on a better note. Planning on 45 minutes at gym on cardio machine and 10,000+ steps.
01/26 161.3 Tomorrow and Monday I am going to try to exercise 60 minutes to make up for missing today's 45 minute exercise session. Stayed in calorie count, but didn't get step or exercise count because I had an off site meeting today.
01/27 160.8
01/28 161.2 I meal prepped lunch for the first time. It was the first time I used my instant pot to cook chicken breast and it was easy. I have been unsure of the machine up until now, since I am only cooking for myself and my husband and some things seem to take as long as cooking via another method. This was relatively quick, especially with multiple portions.
01/29 160.8 I am so close to having a 5 pound loss in January! Yesterday, I stayed in my calorie goal, but I was not a perfect eater-- with a lot of the calories being from snacking. I think I need to do more meal planning in February. What made the juice cleanse from Pressed Juicery easy for me was the convenience of having the meals ready for me and the calories were 1340, so I could walk my 10,000 steps goal and still be at my 1200 calorie limit. Hopefully, meal planning and prepping will help with the urge to snack.
01/30 160.2 Pretty good day yesterday and happy to see this number. I havenβt been under 160 in two years, so that will be a big milestone for me.
01/31 160.5 have a late night tonight and itβs been raining so challenge today is finding an hour for gym. Excited for February to start though! January has been good so far, but always like the hope of a new month.

01/25 11st 5.2lb Very happy with this. Depending on how I feel after the dentist today, I might do some more walking - I tripled the goal on my Garmin yesterday, but it was quite low because I'd not been out the day before.
01/26 11st 6.0lb Thought yesterday was too good to be true. Ate just over my calories yesterday, 1229, and I still had 243 exercise calories I could have had. The day before I had 383 calories left which I didn't eat. I never lose if I exceed my alloted 1200 calories.
01/27 11st 7.0lb Oh dear. Didn't accrue many exercise calories, but my calorie intake was only 1061. Hard not to feel disheartened.

About me: 62, 5'7", hit maintenance in March 2018 and, typical yoyo, currently bouncing back up over original goal weight of 130. Want to get back to 127-128.
Crept back to JGM10D quietly and somewhat inconsistently in Round 60 but now I am back (for reals!)
1/23 - 133.6 - yesterday (again) way over calories due to low-sleep-induced sugar, and way under step goal. Poor sleep leaves me depleted and with very sub-par ability to govern myself.
Today, however, is the start of a new round and time to remind myself that every day, every moment, is a new chance to choose.
1/24 - 134.4 - yesterday was pretty good, honestly a bit over maintenance but at least I logged and did not totally abandon sense. 5500 steps only though.
1/25 - 134.2 -
1/26 - 133.6 -
1/27 - didn't weigh - yesterday doubtless over on calories, but 13/13 hours active on my fitbit, 11K steps, walked 2 miles, and got on my road bike for 40 minutes and climbed a hill till I couldn't.
1/28 - 135.0 and deserved. Food has been all over the map but mainly, over. On the brighter side, got on my road bike again for 40 minutes, and went farther up that hill (before I couldn't).
1/29 -134.4 - yesterday under my .5-loss calorie goal, 11K steps including a short 20 minute run with our newish rescue dog. Run included stops for canine bodily functions, prevention of leash-hobbling, soothing said dog when other canines barked or coveys of quail took off nearby. So not a continuous run, just saying! Still fun.
1/30 - 133.0 - yesterday under my calorie goal, which was a major accomplishment as I woke up at 1AM and never really slept after that! To make it through a bad night without snacking was HUGE, and to make it through work including some off-hours from home, without overeating, was very big too. Sleep difficulties have been my weak point with discipline. I even got out for a significant walk with the dogger.
Resolute, this time I am going to stay in bounds with my food and continue to escalate activity. I have sore muscles from biking and running and a little time with the exercise ball, but quads and hammies are fine thanks to having done body weight squats and lunges to entertain myself over past weeks - if I ever needed proof that EVERY movement, every moment counts, that is it.
1/31 - 133.6 - not disappointed by the bounce because I know I am doing the right things. Under my calorie goal yesterday, only 4000 steps though, got a good night's sleep.

euronorris wrote: Β»30 - 182.2lbs - Well this is a surprise. Had a nasty comment from a colleague about my weight yesterday and it really upset me. So I had McDonald's for dinner. I was over calorie goal, but I think still in a deficit. Still, it's high in salt, so I might pay for this tomorrow instead.
That is awful and so unprofessional for someone to be so crude. Something must be going on in their lives or they don't known how to deal with stress because for people to throw all polite social interaction out the window, especially towards someone you potentially would have to see everyday seems so irrational. I am so sorry you had to hear nasty comments and I totally understand throwing in the towel, but maybe next time you come on here and post a mini rant (with as much information or as little as you want) to talk through the stress and pain rather then eat it. I am sending you a virtual hug. You are beautiful and strong, don't let anyone else tell you different and don't let them live in your head rent free. You got This!!11 -
Round 66 β 2nd round
Female, 41, 5β9β, Central Ohio
1/23/01: 336 (WLS op) β the first day of the rest of my life
1/1/19: 213.4
UGW 170

SW/ER65 - 205.4 (0)
Day/Weight/Comment01/23 - 207.2 (2004 steps) I did NOT want to adult on Tuesday. I called off work and just slept. The eating that I did do wasnβt recorded or measured. No exercise. No meal prep. Meh! Hope to pick myself back up and restart for Wednesday.
01/24 β 207.7 (3459 steps) I got back on track Wednesday. I went back to work and did a TON of meal prep when I got home. I cooked 4 pork chops, 3 round steaks, a package of large shrimp, and a package of scallops for a total of 11 meals to cover me up and thru the weekend. Today is a NEW day!
01/25 β 203.6 (5573 steps) 17 minutes on bike (3.81 miles) β Thursday was an awesome day. I wasnβt hungry. I didnβt snack. Work was stressful to the MAX but I did not ease that stress by eating. I actually allowed myself to have a pint of Halo Top ice cream and still ended up wayyyyyyy under my daily MFP calorie goal! (The shrimp/couscous concoction that I had prepped the other night might have turned out to be an epic fail, but Iβm new to actually cooking so Iβll keep trying.)
01/26 - 203.6 (6200 steps) 30 mins on bike (6.44 miles) Friday is family dinner night and we went to Bennyβs Pizza (local favorite). I managed to stay in the green on my calories. Good day. Dog sitting over Saturday night for my cousin. Packed a couple meals and Iβm all set.
01/27 DNW (9402 steps) Saturday is barn day. Spent 5 hours on the road traveling. I probably got a good 45 minutes of exercise riding Spark (the gelding that Iβm leasing). It was COLD! I packed a meal for dinner here at my cousinβs house. I stayed with her 3 dogs overnight. Unfortunately, I gave into LNS since she had cheddar popcorn and frosted mini-wheats. No scale here at her house.
01/28 β 203.6 (3815) Sunday was a relaxing day. No exercise but I kept within my calorie goal, right up until I went to bed. Iβm not usually one to really care about the ups and downs from day to day but, Iβll say itβs nice to have seen the same # since 1/25.
01/29 β 201.9 (7762 steps) 35 mins of bike (7.69 miles) I had another great day yesterday. I was under on my calorie goal! I have more meal prepping to do tonight and Iβll be set for another 7 meals. I think doing that has saved me more than anything. I usually do both pork chops and round steaks that I buy at Aldi and pair them with either veggies or Knorr Rice sides. Yogurt and protein powder drink for breakfast most days.
01/30 β 201.2 (6220) 40 mins on bike (8.45 miles) Tuesday was a good day, except my Buckeyes lost to TTUN in menβs basketball. We started preparing for FREEZING cold temps! I prepped another 4 meals for the week. I still have more to make. I just didnβt feel like doing more than I did. I saved enough calories to enjoy a piece of my Aunt Nylaβs homemade apple pie! Yummy! Onward and downward! Stay warm my friends. Wind-chill was -23F at 5:30am this morning.
01/31 200.9 β (4300 steps) No exercise. I prepped another 3 meals last night. I have officially done that 3 nights in a row and Iβm kinda getting a good system down so that it doesnβt really take me too long. My kitten likes to get up on the counter and watch me from the other side of the space. She watches me zoom all over the place. Iβm exhausted by the time Iβm done. Iβm doing more experimenting with spices, rubs, seasonings etc. It either works or it doesnβt. I finally threw away that nasty scallops & couscous w/ red pepper flakes that I tried to make and eat. Yuck. 4 to 5 oz round steaks and/or pork chops are officially my favorite! Iβm almost down to Onederland! Yay!

Goal: As a furloughed employee I didn't really how much of a challenge it would be for me to get my water in without the daily structure of work, so my goal for this round is to figure out a method that will work for me to get my water in while I am off work.
Day/Weight/Comment
01/23--214.9 I am going to try a new plan to get my water in...I have a pitcher that I am going to fill with water and I'll place it on the table so that I can see the pitcher throughout the day. Hopefully, this will remind me to drink my water. Today is run day, hopefully the rain lets up soon. Yoga tonight.
01/24--214.9 The water pitcher idea from yesterday worked! Even though I increased my water intake yesterday, I also did a lot of mindless snacking yesterday, so I need to work on that today. Finished w2d2 of c25k yesterday; however, I woke up this morning with some pain around the knee, so I don't know if I will be going to the gym today. I think I will do some stretching/foam rolling and if the knee feels better I will go to the gym later this evening, if no change then I will just skip the gym today.
01/25--214.9 Third day in a row for this weight. Finished w2d3 today, so far so good.
01/26--214.0 There's the drop, let's see if it will hold. Going out for long walk with my dog group.
01/27--214.2 Did over 6 miles of walking with my dog group yesterday, my legs were so sore this morning that I did not want to go to the gym, but I forced myself to go and while it wasn't pretty, I did my weightlifting. Relaxing for the rest of the day to get myself ready for a return to work tomorrow.
01/28--214.5 Back at work today. Didn't want to, but when I got home did W3D1, it felt great. Did some stretching and foam rolling when I got home. Tomorrow is weightlifting, sadly now that the furlough is over I will be up at 4:45 am in order to get to the gym before work. Ugh
01/29--214.5 My watch alarm did not go off this morning so I missed my morning weightlifting. What's ironic is that I was upset when I didn't wake up at 4:45 this morning even though last night I was dreading getting up that early. Now I have to figure out whether I go to the gym later tonight or try again tomorrow morning, I'm leaning towards going tonight but I will have to go late enough that I miss most of the evening crowd.
01/30--214.0 Even though I missed my early morning workout yesterday I ended up going to the gym later yesterday evening. Of course there was a part of me that didn't want to go after being all warm and cozy at home, but then at 7:30 I just told myself that I have to go, so I got up off the couch and went. I had a great workout and there was hardly anyone there at that time, even less then at 4:45 in the morning, so I think for now, especially at this time of year when it's so much harder for me to get out of bed that early, I'm going to start going to the gym in the evening. Tonight is w3d2 of c25k and then yoga.
01/31--214.5 When I got home from work yesterday I didn't want to go running outside and convinced myself that I could skip the run and make up for the run later on in the week. So later in the evening when my husband and I were on our way to yoga I actually started to feel guilty that I hadn't gone out for a run, but at this point it was dark outside and I don't like to run outdoors in the dark. So I told my husband that after yoga I was going to go to the gym and run on the treadmill, btw I hate the treadmill. When I told my husband my plans he looked at me and smiled and said he was proud of me. So, after yoga I drove to the gym and finished my w3d2 run and it actually wasn't that bad. I gotta say I'm pretty proud of myself

01/24 146.8. Good to see a wee drop. I've been going over daily Cal's by about 60. I figure it will take me a week to adjust. Concentrating on getting the nutrients right, not so easy when daily calouries is 1200. But I'm definitely eating healthier and that's exactly what I need!
01/25 146.8. Going strong, managed to have only one chocolate almond π
01/26. 145.5 It's been a good day...staying strong
01/27. 145.5. Admitted to hospital.
01/28. Hospital food is yummy! Couldn't resist the desert or the extra piece of toast. How can you when it's placed in front of you.π
01/29. 145.5. At least I didn't gain. I've had a good day diet wise and stayed well within my calouries.
01/30 145.5 I am unable to exercise but hopefully have another drop soon.
01/31. 145.5 lb. 66kg. A bit discouraged that I haven't dropped a wee bit more. Though not being able to exercise, maybe I'm expecting too much. So I'm going to try at getting 1 lb or 500gm off per 10 days. Struggled with craving but praise God I overcome.

@BethE238 that's excellent advice!! And yes document, document, document!! It sounds tedious but at the end of the day it can benefit you @euronorris I quit my job because of a toxic coworker and I wish I had documented everything. It went on for three years, ever day, five days a week before I called it quits3

@abowersgirl - sooo cute and cozy! π»
And yes, documenting even if itβs just every now and again, or even if he is mostly nice, is important. It could be worse for someone else, and if they ever need to be backed up, your documentation could help them.1 -

I will be exercising and I will try and eat healthy veggies and fruits but keep the higher end calories for tonight's dinner. It will be an NSV if I stay away from desert, which I am really worried about. My hubby told me I have been doing amazing and it is only one night but I am apprehensive because I am beginning to close the gap between the 40s and 30s and don't want to off set it....but he is right. I always jump back on again and it will just take a few extra days to get back to this weight, but I can do it.
01/24 142 I just love to force myself to really work for my losses lol. Last night was amazing, my hubby and I had a great time together, playing games, eating Chinese food and watching tv. It was so relaxing and I am so blessed to have him in my life. I am so happy I am with him and I don't know what I have ever done to deserve such an amazing human being. I am truly blessed. I know this uptick is from the salt from last night's dinner and I don't expect it to stay for long, I am actually surprised it wasn't more. I ate so much food, i literally hurt myself. Still feeling slightly bloated this morning too. But I did exercise good and drank a little over 1 liter of water. Hopefully I can undo most of this damage by tomorrow but I know it will take a couple of days to see if it really has come off.
01/25 141.2 there we go! Exercised good, stayed under calories and drank 2 liters of water. Tomorrow is my weigh in day for some MFP groups, so hoping today I can push out a little more for an over all impressive weight loss this week, regardless of Wednesday's meal. I hope this weekend isn't too tough on me. Family breakfast and then off to a friend's house for the hockey game... I will stay diligent!
01/26 142.6 a small bump. I did this to myself. Last night I tried so hard, I ate other, healthier options to stay way from the snacking but after what felt like forever, smelling the chips and stuff my hubby was eating, i finally gave in. I was so hungry all day and couldn't manage to get full. It was just one of those "powerful cravings not enough will power" type of days. I am still exercising and managed 2 liters of water. I made my peace.
01/27 no weigh in. I wasn't as hungry yesterday and was good all day up until dinner. Went over to a friend's house and I attempted to eat before hand to curb my appetite but it didn't end up working out. It's ok though. This morning my man woke me up and we grabbed some coffee and break fast together and I completely forgot to weigh in before hand. Just gives me another day to attempt to bring down my (almost) weeks worth of terrible eating. I am still exercising regularly so that is something. I can't help feeling super relaxed with my weight (a complete turn around from last week) but I think my excitement and drive to get out of this decade is beginning to return, so I hope that puts a new fire under my *kitten*. I will do this! I can do this!
01/28 143.8 yikes! could only imagine what the day befores weight looked like, considering I was so good yesterday with my eating. I didn't exercise much, kind of hibernated but had a really nice day and got in 2 liters of water.
01/29 141.8 and back down again. Ate good yesterday and workout...especially shoveling snow. Holy cow the snow is taller then me!!! 1.8 liters of water, getting better at it and staying mindful. TOM is due to arrive tomorrow so we will see how this round ends. 10 days goes by so fast!
01/30 142.2 TOM arrived, expected a fluctuation, I feel bloated. Exercised good, ate under Calories, fourth day staying way from any trigger foods even though the cravings are strong! And 2 liters of water!!!
01/31 141.8 hope I can drop some of this bloat for tomorrow's final weigh in so I can at least report a loss even if I don't make my goal...This is getting harder and harder. I have been so good and watching This weight drop at a snails pace but then one night of weakness can throw me a full four days...argggg. what can you do though? Hopefully I can finally get under the 40s and never see this number again, especially because I have given my body more then enough time to adjust at this current weight. Yesterday I exercised good, ate under Calories and had 2 liters of water.... finally getting the hang of more water!
