Hi everyone, sorry that I was MIA, I got a summer cold - which I haven't had in years! Finally on mend.
Sunday is my official weigh-in day and start of the new week. I hope everyone has a great upcoming week, and we meet our weekly goals!
May we get our water drank this week!!2 -
Hi everyone! New here, just starting for the 40th time! Since I just turned 40 and it feels like 88! Going to get involved in the community on MFP to see if that will help me stick it out this time! I’ve learned a lot about the yo-yo dieting in the last 4 years, but I have promised myself the I will feel better in my 40’s than I did in my 30’s. That is a goal that is difficult to quantify, except through how often I visit the chiropractor. So, here’s to less chiropractic visits, more exercise, and feeling great!5

Glad you're feeling better @KCJen - colds are just miserable. For as bad as you feel, it seems like it should be something more than "common."
@ksinzhill- getting it done now is a good plan! Will make the next 40 better!4 -
Good Morning Everyone,
Today is already showing it is going to be a crazy day. However, I have this week's goals to reach of losing 2 pounds and getting my daily water drank (and treadmill, but that is not happening today). I will keep on keeping on!

Hey new to the group and love the positivity! Back to doing this and need to get weight back off. Love the encouragement and need the support.6
-
Glad you are here @mizak-the support on this site does seem to be helpful. And we might as well be positive--being negative doesn't get us anywhere!
You can get that treadmill @kcjen-it is really your friend!1 -
I’m in the same boat. Just started again on saturday at my biggest weight ever. As im getting older it’s harder snd harder to stay committed.
Friend me if you want some daily support.4 -
Welcome to the group. I am 64 and find that when I stay disciplined and log accurately, the weight does come off. You can do this!4

Whewwww………...what a week/weekend......I will try to keep this brief. It was a total freak out for me Friday night because my son and grandkids got caught in a tornado warning while driving to visit us. They could see it above them. Needless to say they were terrified. But THANKFUL they made it to our house safely...…...this momma/ Memaw was soooo relieved. Then, our town has been involved in the flooding for the past week. That same Friday night I found some water trickling in our basement. That was manageable with our shopvac. Put the kids to be, started playing cards and then my son see's flashing lights out our window. Yep, my neighborhood was being evacuated. There is a big creek that runs past our neighborhood, luckily we are on the opposite side of the street and were spared, but we still had to leave. Again, reason's to be thankful. So many reasons. Emergency workers, friends, etc. So my weekend was one that I didn't track anything. I didn't do bad though. I did take my granddaughter to the rec center to play Saturday morning. I needed to get out! Monday we took the dogs for a walk, so I got some exercise, but not like I need to. Weekends are hard for me to get that in. I need to work on that.
I am once again, vowing to get all my food tracked and even stay within my calories this week.
Tonight I am going to a Yoga class for the first time. I hope it will help with these aging aching bones.
This week my weigh in was not a loss, but I am satisfied with a small .04 gain. Wrong way, but I will conqueror it this week! I weighed in at 194.4.
For the newbies, I am 57 years old and well now you know my weight lol. My goal is to loose 3 pounds a month. I'm not quit on schedule, but I am making progress. I have been on weight watchers, jenny craig, SparkPeople so many things...…...but my biggest problem is ME. I need to make the changes. I have been here since mid January and I don't intend on going any where. I need this support and group and YOU
@Longing4Maui great advise for planning things out and finding recipes to satisfy that sweet tooth.
@KCJen So glad to hear your feeling better. Hope you avoided any damage from last nights storms!
@ksinzhill and @mlzak and @SammyD242 WELCOME "Starting for the 88th time" We all know about the yo-yo dieting. We are here because we want this to be the LAST TIME. Stick around and we can help each other get to our goals.

Good to catch up on comments on this thread, @AbandondedKSCharger SO very thankful to God that you and your family are ok, the storms this spring have been so bad, and so much flooding. Weekends are hardest for me too, but if we stay on track with exercise M-F taking the weekend off is ok. I’d like to try Yoga again, did it several years ago and really made me feel great. Just started doing small amount of weights twice a week, that feels good too. Welcome to newbies, add me as friend if you would like. I try to check the ‘my favorite’ two community sites weekly, but having the daily comments from some great friends is awesome. I reached my ‘first’ goal to be under 200 pounds. It feels awesome and I never want my weight to start with a 2 again; but know I have to work on this the rest of my life. It’s a life change more than a ‘diet’, just watching portions and eating the right foods, and getting some activity fit in.3

Hi Everyone! Missed my weekly Checkin last week as I have been a little under the weather but happily on the mend!
Welcome back to our new contributors, and @AbandondedKSCharger what a weekend for you and your dear family. Very pleased you all stayed safe!
I have now been back for 48 days and good news, I am starting to get into good habits;
Log my diary, yep, only missed 2 days
Drink water, yep, most days I hit 8 cups
Binge days, needs more work as I still seem to have 1 every 7 or 8 days, BUT, they are nowhere near as high in calories as they used to be.
Exercise, walking is my only type of exercise right now and it continues to be a bit of a struggle, I had hoped to walk 5 out of 7 days. Still work to do on that. However, I am walking rather than sitting in my chair and playing on the Internet , oops, right that is what I am doing right now 🤪.
Weight loss. Down 8 pounds so I really happy about that, my ‘fat clothes finally fit rather than making me feel like a stuffed sausage. Next goal is to have loose ‘fat’ clothes, yep, I have lots of weight to get off!
Weekends are a challenge for me, as well, as many of our wise and successful members above say, plan, plan, plan! What works for me is to enter my diary every morning so I know what wiggle room have for the day, it keeps me under control better than entering at the end of day. Also, it helps plan some food that I enjoy but may be high in calories,
Always looking for active, supportive friends, so friend me if you wish.
Look luck on the weekend everyone. I started with small steps this time rather than the ‘ be perfect and it is all or nothing’ attitude. So far, so good!
Cheers!

Wow @AbandondedKSCharger - very traumatic weekend. Think you are doing great, all things considered. Life will get in our way--you are doing right thing by not beating yourself up and getting back on it.
Walking is my main excercise @Mariang165. I try, most days, for 2 thirty minute walks. Usually get 30 in the morning before work and same at lunch (morning is usually on my treadmill). Going to try for 20,000 steps tomorrow--we will see how energetic I am.
And remember-we all restart this each morning when we get up!2 -
Hahah I'm the same trying to lose 14 pounds this year let motivate each other!3
-
My current loss is a reloss also. But--since i lost it the first time, I know I can lose it again!2

Dropped down to 192! Seeing the scale go down is what motivates me. I now look forward to going to the 80's. Last night I found myself thinking about being about 140 by my 60th birthday. It's possible!!! Boy would that stun my husband But more importantly for me, what an example for my children. Especially my daughter who has always had to struggle more then me. It breaks my heart.
Looking forward to another week of good choices and seeing everyone else's results. Remember, some weeks aren't as generous as others, but we keep keeping on
@Mariang165 and @ginnytez Thank you. We are very fortunate.2 -
Feel free to add me0
-
Same here, trying again, this time with success!1
-
Well, two steps forward one step back.
Up 1 pound from last week.
Checked in at 193. My goal was to be at 191 at the end of May...….188 at the end of June.
I did weigh in a little later then normal, and after eating my morning snack...….but I don't think that would make the difference.
I'm not frustrated though because I know I am making progress.
Sticking to it.
Hope you all have a great week!

Hello! I'm 39, married for 16 years, have 2 active boys and trying to do my best to up my health game in the last 4 months before I turn 40 (eeek). Please feel free to add me. I've been on here for years but I've not been active for a while. I'm trying to get my groove back.😉3
-
Hang tough @AbandondedKSCharger -you are still making progress and making changes!
Welcome @SteshaNicole -you can get back in the groove. Being active can help.1 -
@ginnytez The way I feel today I can't wait to weigh in again on Monday. Now to make it through the weekend feeling this way.1
-
You keep going @AbandondedKSCharger -you can make it through the weekend. And no matter what the scale says, we keep working and we will get there! (might just take a few detours here and there!)2

191.4
Getting down a little more again. Feels good. My May goal was 191, so I've met that. My end of June goal is 188. Hope to get close, if not .. maybe even make it I start water aerobics on Thursday, then next week it will be twice a week. I could have been lower today if I would have exercised this weekend, but I did not get my 20 minutes of intentional exercise in. Planned on it several times, but didn't make it happen.
Have a great week and I wish everyone lots of luck to avoid doing this again the 89th time

Started MFP 6yrs ago , had great results lost 80lbs. A hip injury set me back. Went back to my bad eating habits. Gain all the weight back plus some. Tried 4-5 times since then. Looking for some good friends. All friend request are welcomed. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE !!!3
-
Teri-we will not start again for the 89th time--we will get to maintenance and maintain!
Physical issues can set us back, but eating at deficit will do it regardless of activity!1 -
-
I am also looking for friends to encourage and support. Let's make this the last time we are "losing." I am so ready for this.2
-
Hey everybody! I see lots of enthusiasm, support and progress here. Keep up the good work!!2
