Thank you ladies, for all your comments. You are the cheering squad in my life. My sister's in my life have gone silent, so I go to y'all for encouraging words. You never let me down.💗
Have a mauvvalous day!💗

Dana- welcome back! Nice to see you posting again!
We just bought two pedal assist bike’s!! They are fantastic!! We went bike riding with people that are avid bike riders and were able to keep up without any strenuous work!! I would definitely suggest them for anybody that wants to be out and about and get your exercise in. I was still constantly peddling for two hours but did not have to over do it.

I agree.
M you asked about ways to reduce stress that doesn't add to the list. LAUGH. Today I came into a Kindergarten and after being with them for ten minutes I was to have them push their chairs into the hall with their book boxes line them up in the hall and have a reading train with them. When I read that I just laughed for a good couple of minutes. It was stressful to accomplish this especially when there were also three students in wheel chairs that had to fit into the scenario too. As we were lining up two classes were passing us in the hall , so they could leave for a field trip. I knew what was being asked. It worked out better for me to laugh at the absurdity of it rather than fuss and fume about how ridiculous it was to ask a sub to organize this. They had never done anything like this. They actually did pretty well with it, and they loved it.
I am trying to incorporate the change the channel idea as a way to reduce stress too.

Good day.
My son didn’t come for an exercise session on Tuesday as he was too stiff, so he rescheduled it for today. Then he completely forgot. Oh well. Kids, eh!
Other than that I have done some administration. Scheduled a window cleaning estimate, paid a credit card bill, and booked a cleaner for a trial run next Friday. She sounds very chatty, which is not always good. She is 60. Also booked a 'wet cut' for next Wednesday. Good to tick things off.
Went to my dance class this pm. The group of 4 that I was working with last week were all absent, so I joined another group to make a trio. All went well, and we worked hard at getting something together. Unfortunately one of the women had been drinking. I could smell it. She was ok, but a little uninhibited.
The best bit of the class is the exercises for the first hour. Jason, the teacher, manages to make exercises look like dancing! Lovely music. I'm not so keen on the group work, but it's all strenuous exercise, so all good.
Had delicious roasted guinea fowl this evening with roasted cauliflower. Yum!
Just had an email from my DDIL. The kids go to "Streetfunk" on Fridays, which is street/break dancing. She is planning to go to Fatto a Mano at 6 pm (real wood fired pizza) and asked if we wanted to join them. Oh yes! The left over guinea fowl will go into tomorrow's ciabatta for lunch and then have to wait until Saturday for a veggie heavy stir fry.

Katla here are some the pictures of Jessica’s house. Several large oaks fell on the house. I’m so glad the left during the storm!
There was mold so the house was sealed up while it was removed.
The kids were going to the schools in Destin while they were there right after the storm for about 6 weeks.
But since they are back in PCB they are going to their old school that reopened. It takes an hour to drive back over the bridge to Panama City cause of all the people and contractors going that way in the morning. It’s very slow going and the same going back to PCB.
The reason she’s had to be in so many condos is because there is isn’t any housing so the insurance company finds beach condos that are available. ($1700/week) The owners aren’t giving any discounts because that’s their income.
Zech and Gabby: Wacky Wednesday at school. And mama at the condo.

Happy National Chili Day!
In honor of the local temperature, which plummeted overnight from the mid-70s to the current 37 degrees Fahrenheit: "At the Columbian Exposition in Chicago in 1893, the San Antonio Chili Stand helped people from all over the United States appreciate the taste of chili. Because San Antonio was a significant tourist destination, it helped Texas-style chili con carne spread throughout the South and West. In 1977, House Concurrent Resolution Number 18 of the 65th Texas Legislature designated chili con carne as the official dish of the U.S. state of Texas." We have so many alternatives for chili these days - what's your favorite?
Pip - That is a gorgeous bicycle!
Kelly - Oh, yes, what I wouldn't give to be able to pick up the phone and talk to my mom! And Lisa, you said that so well... "impossible to believe the world kept spinning without her on it." I miss Dad too, but somehow his loss is a little less present - maybe because he was so diminished when Mom died it's almost like we lost him at the same time.
Sharon - Yes, I ride and have done a number of long rides although not as long as yours! When we were living in Albuquerque my husband and I rode to the north rim of the Grand Canyon, and then down to the south rim the next day. In 2016 I rode to Santa Fe, New Mexico, for the 76th annual convention of the Motor Maids. Next year I'm hoping to make the trip to Rapid City, South Dakota, for convention. Motor Maids are not allowed to vote at the annual meeting unless they've ridden to convention. The only exception is for the Golden Life members, who have logged 50 consecutive years of active riding membership.
Machka - The wild rose earrings are lovely. I see what you mean about the anti-stress list, but I think the idea is that making the time for yourself can help you be more productive with the rest of your time. It doesn't have to be a lot of time (take a vacation, yeah, right!) but an hour off for a massage or something you love might actually be helpful. I know you've had your hands more than full lately, but isn't there anything on your to-do list that could drop down in priority? If not, maybe a few minutes of stretching, or a walk around the building between appointments, or 10 minutes spent decluttering one space?
I'm back on the wagon again today after a couple of days of other stuff interfering with my plan. Just finished a huge pile of vegetables with a packet of lemon pepper chicken and a half cup of Greek yogurt stirred in for lunch. I don't know if I'll brave the cold to get my steps in today but I will work out on the ski machine.
I'm feeling really old lately. It's like all of a sudden I'm an old lady. People have started to offer us senior discounts without our asking and I'm having a hard time adjusting emotionally to this new reality.

afternoon ladies~ I am home again after a quick trip to get Dan's taxes dome, I took a nap in the car , he was out in 1/2 hr... nice little nap though... he bought me taco bell as that is what he was getting, I got a steak power bowl no rice or beans and a diet pepsi, which I dont drink soda anymore but figured what the heck.. the power bowl was pretty good and only 6 carbs... so early dinner.. and I am happy..
I hit goodwill and did a donation and bought myself 3 shirts and a pocketbook... found one shirt at Walmart that I couldn't resist and stopped and got my DFIL some Jello brand lemon meringue pie cups, he loves them.. praise the lord I was able to get his cream of wheat into him today.. and small glasses of root beer.. the fluids is what is helpful... I told you I bought the sugar free powerade but it does have sucralose in it , so didn't want to drink it,so I donated it down to the nursing home for the ones with the tummy bug, it has the elctrolites that they need .. and they didnt like the orange flavor ,so I had fruit punch and grape.. so hear is hoping that helps those poor people..
he was awake and alert today which is unusual lately.. and he even batted the balloon around for a few minutes, he doesnt usually engage in any of the festivities unless there is ice cream involved... and let me tell you .. you give him a root beer float and he is on cloud 9 lol...
I just fed Alfie and he is hanging out in the sun, he came down with me and visited a few people... he so loves that and so do they..3 -
Don’t ask me where I’m going to find the time to go thru all the posts. I’ll just be skimming, so I’m sorry for anything that I may have missed.
Let’s see, Tuesday did Leslie Sansone Walk to the Hits DVD. Then we left for home, got home around 7:30. Wed did a 10MS carb burner DVD, today did an extreme strength DVD. The plan for tomorrow is to take the deep water class.
We had a newcomer board meeting Wed. I was asked if I still wanted to continue with membership and I just said “I’ll have to think about it”. At the next board meeting I’ll just say that I’ve truly enjoyed my years doing membership but I haven’t enjoyed it these last few months so I think they should find someone else to do membership. But I won’t leave them in a lurch. I will continue to add people to the website as I have and I will continue to keep the mail list until they find someone else to do it.” Newcomer bowling tonight
Rori – congrats on the car!!! How exciting!
Lisa- Vince had to buy GS cookies last night!
Lost over 4 lbs while in FL. Wonder how long it’ll take me to put it back on?
Made a triple chocolate cheesecake for the neighbor who watched our house while we were gone. The house across the street from us sold
Suebdew – I don’t know if I’d want to live in FL. Yes, I love it. But it’s ALWAYS green. Something about having a BBQ on Christmas just seems weird to me.
Sinuses have been really acting up. I know it’s the change in barometric pressure that does it
Barbie – one thing they do here in NC (to me this is weird) is in add’n to the eye test you have to identify signs, but there is nothing on them. Like a RR crossing sign is just a round circle. When do you ever see that? I usually lay out my exercise clothes for the next day.
Texted with Maria today. She’s expecting at least 50 to the shower. Looks like I’m going to have to make more favors. To me, a wedding shower is much more than a baby shower. Well, she’s paying for it. To me, the place looks more like a wedding venue than a place where you have a baby shower. Judging from how many were at the wedding shower, I was thinking that there’d be 20-25 there. Looks like I'll need to buy a dress
Volunteered at the Green Room today. Good to be back
I usually get the Prolia for my osteoporosis. Do you know that this year insurance denied it because they didn’t feel it was medically necessary any more (my osteoporosis has gotten so much better). The MD now prescribed Actonel. Have to go pick it up at WalMart
Janetr – (((HUGS)))
Beth – good thoughts being sent your way
M- (((HUGS)))
Michele – back in NC (boo)

Machka I have some earrings like that that belong to my grandmother. They have pearls in them and are tarnished silver. They are very old and have old screw-on backs. I have them somewhere packed away. I would like to have posts put on them and put a pair of round cut aquamarines into them. I’ve have had the stones for a long time too.
KJ Kelley I meant to refer to you about my daughter but wrote Katla. I didn’t realize it until it was too late to change it.
Sorry!
Rori what kind of a car did you get? Exciting news!!
Have a great evening or morning!

There are several items on my happiness commandments list that might qualify as stress reducers:
*Don't take things personally
*Lighten up
*Do it now
*Stay in the moment
*Act the way you want to feel
*Don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good
*Don't expect praise or recognition
*It is what it is
@Katla49 I do also.. but it wasn't my ideas it's what @barbiecat posted earlier. ^^1 -
Thats an ol pic of us and that is Kirbys wooden bike made in Oregon, wood grown in the U.S.2

Kelly - I am so happy you spoke to the men in your life, I wish I had spoken up and demanded more in my life at times without fear of hurting others feelings. I still don’t do it often enough.
Machka - my daughter uses lavender to help relax her at night. I have a couple of people in my life that swears by essential oils rubbed on the wrist or worn in a bracelet or necklace to help relieve stress. I’m not sure which oil does what, but if you are interested I could ask.
Yvonne - I feel that I will be feeling the way you do about your Dad’s death when my Mom passes. She has never been herself since Dad was first sick and I feel I have grieved the loss of her already even though she is still here.
Michele - I remember going on the truck with my husband to Florida in December one year. I found it very strange seeing the Christmas decorations with grass.
I am very slow getting caught up today on posts. I overslept this morning so much so that my husband woke me to make sure I was ok.
I guess I needed the sleep.
Tomorrow I am taking my daughter to get groceries and run errands. It will be nice when her husbands car is fixed so they have two again.

HI!
Life has a way of throwing me curve balls. Not sure when I posted last, but I am only on page 35 with reading. Please accept my apologies as I don't respond to what has been going on. I will catch up! Y'all are so chatty, which I love!
Aubrey underwent a 9 hour heart cath surgery last week. They were able to balloon and decided to stent the left pulmonary artery. The right was too stenosed for them to work with. She is going in for her third open heart surgery tomorrow. I am grateful for all the support and assistance that the family is receiving. They tell me she is such a happy little one.
My Aunt continues to heal. She should be moving into a rehab center soon. My brother saw her this past Sunday and said she is in good spirits. After the rehab center, she will most likely go live with my brother and his wife until she is released from care. She isn't allowed to live alone until then. At least my brother's house will be more comfortable than a hospital setting. The food will be better too!
My father's last brother died yesterday morning. He was the last of their generation on that side of the family. That makes me part of the oldest generation now. Wow! I always receive a Christmas card from Uncle and Aunt every year, but not close, thanks to my parent's drinking. Still sad to think that. Timing is an interesting thing. I just hooked up with my cousin about a month ago on Facebook. She is a year older than me to the day and hour! It is from her that I learned of my Uncle's passing. When my father died, we found out from an obituary that was posted a month afterwards! My brother's FIL saw it and shared. Neither of my father's brothers told us, because our step mom didn't want us to know. SMH. They are all gone now.
We have spent the past week helping friends with their move to a new home. The husband had an obsession with die casts! I am talking well over $50,000 worth! He didn't realize how many he had collected. I will tell you that my husband bought 12 large garbage bags full, then proceeded to bring home at least that many more! His garage is currently full of totes and boxes of Hot Wheels and other assorted smaller die cast cars! He has given some away. Our friend, D, was so grateful for our help as he didn't even know where to start. We have been over there every night after work since last Tuesday. D started crying last week as we were leaving as he just felt such blessings and gratitude for the guys help. Donovan was over there with us. We did move one of his cars, 1969 Mach 1, to the new house for him. The real kind. I was so nervous driving the roll back truck with that car on it! It doesn't run currently so needed towed. I was just the driver. I spent the evenings having lovely conversations with J, the wife. She is so funny and we are so similar as are our husbands! I am looking forward to more evenings with them. Took a break for a few evenings as the stuff left in their garage was finally manageable for him. He had no idea where to start.
Needless to say, what started off as a great month with goals went downhill. The upside is after fighting with the same darn 2 pounds all month, I logged in at exactly the same weight I started with on February 1st!
I did have to plow snow last week to help my SIL and her husband. He is in South Dakota for his company along with 3 of the guys that normally plow for their snow jobs. She called me at 330 in the morning to help. I did. I survived. Once in the lot, I do fine. It is getting there that is the problem. Getting home that night the fog was so bad that I was going like 10 mph in places. That is because the 6" of snow we got in the morning was all melting! Such strange weather. I currently have a truck with a plow sitting in my driveway just in case I am needed tonight, but I think it is just going to be a salt event. We got home from work just as the snow started coming down. Driveway still black even though grass is white. I am thankful that her husband is on his way back, since they are forecasting up to 8" of snow on Sunday. I don't want to plow, but will if she needs me.
I need to look at my schedule for March and try to get home to MD for a visit before Spring hits! I miss my family.
Welcome to the new ladies! Stop in often and chat when can!
Congratulations to the "losers" and the winners!
Hugs to all of you strong and wonderful ladies!

Hi Gals,
Behind but catching up!!!
Tracey in Edmonton – professional help for your friend sounds like a good idea
Betsey – family drama is so awful! Do you live full time in the house that is in dispute? Or is it a vacation home?
Rebecca – love hearing from you
Lisa – impressive!!!
Beth ….ellipsis offended anyone? I am sorry but please find something more important to put into your life than a row of dots…
Birthstone – I’m august so mine is a peridot which is often a rather mucky green stone, not one I am too interested in.
Allie – take care, you are doing a great job with DFIL, the pups, work and weight!
Things are keeping me hopping here; I did apply to the local high end nursery for a job working with their plants, to fill in the hours I’ll lose at the camp garden come the end of May, but have decided that that is the only place I’ll apply for now.
One of my gardening clients is really a challenge for me; and I think partially it is age, maybe some senior dementia, or just “I’m old so I can be as cranky as I want”. But I’m tired of the behavior and cranky comments – today is her day but it was raining, so I called and said I would not be coming and she got really whiny and asked why I was being wimpy – really!? She probably has not realized it yet but as of Jan. 1 I have cut her back to every other week as I can’t take her every week. But as we have had plenty of rain I’ve had an excuse. I wanted to make sure that the finances were ok with her at every other.
The embroidery is booming! I have been running the machines so much that they are beginning to need some repair in fact the repair guy is coming in tomorrow (second time in 9 years) I can usually do the repairs myself but am in over my head - I am thankful that I could get Jim on short notice, there are just 2 repair guys in Northern California both from the same shop about 1.5 hours from here, and you pay $75 an hour for travel time so just to get them here I am out $150 and they have not even done any work. So I have learned to do many repairs myself, but both machines have repairs that are beyond me. It’s worth it and Jim will get done in a short amount of time what would take me a full day.
Well off to get some other things done – like vacuum! My mom is coming to spend the weekend with me and I like it to be tidy – and with the dog hair that is an every other day vacuum – so I’ll do it tonight to hold me till Sunday.
Kim from N. California

Just skimming...
Sharon motorcycling up to the Arctic Circle? WOW. The farthest I ever rode was on the back of Joe's bike from the East Bay to Tahoe, and back, and let me tell you even that little gave me serious Iron Butt!
Machka love your first bike pic! I prefer my birthstone aquamarines clear not frosted To Barbie's list and Margaret's "Laugh!" I'd add "Sing out loud!" The louder the more stress you're breathing out. Then if you sound like me you'll end up laughing at yourself too.!
Yvonne the first time I was given an unasked for senior discount was quite a facer. I don't feel more than 19 or 30 inside, who is that little old lady in the mirror?
Allie I love that Alfie visits at your DFIL's facility. Sure wish they'd hire you both!
Michele "osteoporosis has gotten so much better" Hooray! You give me hope!
pip glad to see you're feeling better!
Kylia ((hugs)). You've really been through it. Prayers for Aubrey and her family continue.

Good morning. Looks like a nice day, then weather going to the pits for coming wk.
Yesterday, told DH we are eating out of our stuffed fridge & double stuffed freezer for as long as it lasts. My own fault, always buying too much food,as if we are starving!
Going to stay away from super markets ,only getting the fresh food from a small store, milk, salad fixings & bread.I WILL conquer this foolish habit!
AUNTIEBK,do hope your road can be fixed soon. Amazing how our lives are so dependent on transportation.
Sweeper isn’t noisy & will have to look up the name. You need to move cords from lamps etc, block steps, but it does a good job on carpet, room size rug, tile & laminate floors.
MACHKA,
Anyone using the ocean for a toilet should be fined, big time. How ignorant.
SHARON,DH prefers salads using fine shreds instead of hunks of veggies.
Still looking at Spiralizers.Wish the stores had a selection to be seen.Have way too many un used kitchen gadgets.Thinking,
thinking.BTW,had the salad shooter yrs ago.Not sure where it went.
Oldest Great Grson is 5 tomor. He’ll start regular kindergarten this yr.They grow up so fast!
BETH,my biggest fear all my life was/is dental work.I only trust my fav dentist for many yrs,but he retired, boo hoo.
Was in Oregon ,needed oral surgeon.Thought my troubles were over.Short story,I no longer trust them either.Good luck getting help you need.
HI,DANA ,I remember your DD having a hard time after the storm. So hard worrying about our kids,of any age.Nice to hear from you.
Time to get this day started.......you all have a good day. Pat or Trish0
