all I'll say is just be careful slashing your caloric intake too much. Under eat and there's a very good chance that you'll wake up a few days a week ravenous and go nuts with the food.

1500 every day (10,500 p/w) is better than making yourself miserable on 1200 per day and bingeing on 2600 twice a week because you're not eating enough (11,200 p/w).

    Be sensible.

Doesn't matter. 800 calories is not safe or healthy for any adult unless they're under direct medical supervision.

Others would disagree but it is for individuals to seek out information to make their own informed decisions rather than rely on comments in online forums.

Others disagreeing doesn't make them right. A lot of the comments on these forums is backed up with a lot of history, experience and knowledge.

Very true. All decisions should be evidence based.

Based on your stats I'd say 1500 - 1600 would be still giving you a good loss and far more sustainable. It would give you the energy you need to exercise too. I'd suggest lifting weights (lots of great programs out there!) or doing body weight workouts at home if you don't go to a gym. Throw in some HIIT cardio and while you may not lose a few stone by your holiday you'll actually look and feel way better than quickly losing weight on 800 cals a day and ending up with no energy, your hair falling out and probably losing boobs and bum in the process!

I know it's tempting to crash diet for a special event but you'll feel loads better on your holiday even if you are only 20lb down but you are feeling healthy and nicely shaped from the exercise.

And there is no evidence that doing 800cal on purpose for any length of time without the supervision of a doctor is good or healthy. Such things are also not encouraged on this forum and posts about unhealthy diets have been removed before.

Perhaps the OP is hoping to do a very low calorie diet under medical supervision?

Doesn't sound like "under medical supervision," does it?

No but after reading and doing more research the OP, and indeed others, may consider an 800 calorie diet as being suitable.

You realize that promoting unhealthy practices, including very low calorie diets are not allowed here as per the TOU you agreed to?

I am not promoting any sort of diet.

I am suggesting people research diets that may be suitable for them.

Apologies if discussing diets proven to have health benefits is forbidden.

you're a michael mosley fan? hence the '800 cals is ok' standpoint?
