JUST GIVE ME 10 DAYS ~ ROUND 68
Replies

Ladies and Gentlemen - I am going to need some serious prayers. My almost 97 year old grandmother fell on the ice tonight and has fractured her pelvis. Not her hip, thank goodness. Mom and I just finally got home from the hospital (6 hours later). They admitted her for now and will see the orthopedic specialist tomorrow. Right now there is no talk of surgery but she is more than likely going to need to go to a rehab facility for extended care until she is able to be up and around on her own. She lives alone but it’s only a mile away from our house. She is VERY independent and feisty as all get out. She was PISSED when they told her she had broken her pelvis.

@SarahG626. sending prayers and good wishes for your Grandmother. For crossstitch I usually have a bunch of different projects going and switch back and forth.1

@SarahG626 - Sending prayers. I know what it's like to have a feisty grandmother fall and break something.2

Day/Weight/Comment
02/12: 204.7 Having one of those days that I want to eat a *lot*. Which means I’m not hungry but want to keep eating. But I’m fighting it and so far so good. Thankfully this doesn’t happen often.
02/13: 203.7 Back on track today. I’m 10 lbs down from my original start weight. Yay!
02/14: 203.7 Thank goodness cravings are gone. I’m happily skipping the candy this year. We had some at work and I was able to say no.
02/15: 203.0. Feeling good. Going to have some temptations tomorrow since we are going to visit relatives out of town. I’m just going to plan for a little extra calories and get right back to my healthy WOE the next day.
02/16: 203.4 Ate some peanut butter which I know always moves the scale up a bit.
02/17: 203.7 Visiting family and indulged a bit. Back to it today
02/18: 203.5 Eating better and tracking all food.

02/12--212.7 Tried to go out for a run yesterday, but heavy wet snow started before I could get out. Raining today, so may try again later.
02/13--212.9 Haven't run since Saturday, ugh!
02/14--212.3 First weight training session with my trainer is this evening. My trainer has already sent me what we would be doing this evening and I noticed that there are a lot of exercises and while most of the exercises are familiar to me, there are some exercise I have never heard of. Weather is starting to warm up a little and the snow/ice is starting to melt, so hopefully I can get out running some time this weekend.
02/15--212.5 I had my first training session yesterday and it was great. Having a trainer is a kind of weird experience because you have this person constantly watching you to make sure you have proper form. After just the first session I realize that my form on some exercises is not as great as I thought it was and I can be pretty lazy, there were some exercises that we did that I knew if he wasn't there I would not have done that many reps. At the same time the training session also made me realize that if I just push myself a little I can do a lot of things that I thought I couldn't do. I was thinking of going for a run today, but I think I will take the extra time off to recover from yesterday.
02/16--213.1 I'm not surprised about the increase on the scale since I am probably still retaining water from my weight training from 2 days ago, but my weight trend is still downward. Going for a run today.
02/17--213.1 Finished W5D1 yesterday. I hadn't run in a week and wasn't sure if I should continue on with the training progression or if I should redo the previous week. Well, I decided to just continue on and if I wasn't feeling great then I would just reduce the amount of running. Well, I finished the first running interval and felt great, so I continued on and was able to finish without any problems. Today is a rest day, but I want to make sure that I do some stretching and foam rolling.
02/18--213.4 Finished W5D2 today. Personal trainer tomorrow.

2/13- 166.2 Did not exercise this morning. Pouring rain and more tomorrow, so no trail walking for me this weekend - treadmill is getting tedious Calories a little over but tracked it all.
Also ordered a Fitbit Versa last night, updating from my Charge 2. Hope it's a good buy!

ROUND 68 (Round 13 for me)
5’5” 67 y/o Texas Lady
SW 178 lb.
GW 135 lb.
I started Round 54 and Keto WOE on September 24, 2018.
Cumulative weight loss for Rounds 54-67 = 38.4 lb.
NSVs: Besides wearing smaller clothing and my wedding band fitting now, my blood pressure has been lower on my last couple of doctor visits and when I’ve checked it at home.
I like you folks, and I really appreciate and enjoy your company. Besides, I’m not sure I can stay on track without you!
Day/Weight/Comment
02/12 137.2 I only ended with a .2 lb. loss last round, but I’m starting this round 2.2 lb. lower than my weight yesterday. My scale likes to torment with me. On a high note, I’ve been experimenting with not logging calories, just following keto guidelines, and I think I can do it. Starting out, I had to track everything, but I think I’ve got the hang of it now. I keep experimenting with keto recipes that appeal to both me and my husband. I just add pasta or rice or potatoes to his meals. I’m trying to reach my GW by the end of this month.
02/13 137.8 Not bad, considering yesterday was a 2 lb. drop and I was up early this morning. After lunch with the Red Hat ladies, I did one tax return, then took Thor on a 6-mile walk. One of our Red Hat ladies, Ruby, celebrated her 85th birthday last week. Ruby is trim and let us know she jogs, because walking is boring. Ruby’s my new role model!
02/14 137.6 Better than nothing. Today, my hip was sore all day. It hurt when I started walking yesterday (from arthritis in back, per my doctor), but I hadn’t experienced hip pain since September, so it took me by surprise. I won’t have time to walk again until Sunday, so I should be all better by then.
02/15 137.4 Slowly, but surely. Hopefully, I’ll get below my start weight before the end of the round, but probably not tomorrow. It will be an early day to leave for a couple of concerts 2 ½ hours away. It will probably be close to midnight before I get home tomorrow evening—long day ahead. Time for bed now! Hope everyone has a great weekend of fun and relaxation, but not overeating or over-drinking! 😊
02/16 DNW I got up and raced out early yesterday morning. Yesterday was a good day, but we didn’t get home until almost midnight.
02/17 137 I see it’s going back down. When I saw the number this morning, I couldn’t remember if it was good or bad. There’s too much going on to keep my head straight. Other than my pushups and sit-ups, I’m not exercising today.
02/18 136.6 I worked this morning and did my sister’s tax return. She took me to lunch, and I had my favorite green salad with grilled shrimp. I ate half for lunch and had the rest for dinner this evening. My husband and I spent at least 3 hours working in the yard this afternoon, so Thor didn’t get a walk. Our yard is an acre, so Thor ran around while we worked. He sniffed every blade of grass, ate a little of the organic fertilizer, chased a squirrel, and warned the cows to stay away from the fence. My husband and I will have sore backs tomorrow, but we accomplished a lot.

Day/Weight/Comment
02/12 - 180.6lbs - going down again cold finally improving, thankfully.
02/13 - 180.4lbs - slowly slowly. Feeling much better. In the annoying stage where I have an almost constant tickle at back of my throat making me cough loads lol
02/14 - 179.8lbs - Wahoo! The 170s. Let's hope it sticks.
02/15 - 180.2lbs - oh man! Slow going this round!
02/16 - 179.8lbs - back in the 170s. Let's hope it stays this time. Off to FIL and step MILs house today. She always puts on a delicious cooked breakfast spread. However, she is doing slimming world and she knows I'm dieting so shes said she'll do a slimming world friendly brunch. Not sure what that will involve but hopefully I'll have some calorie wise choices I can make.
02/17 - 180lbs - Greer. So frustrating. Wont stay in the 170s! Brunch yesterday wasn't healthy lol. It was all the usual stuff, she just hadn't fried any of it. Which helped, but didn't provide any healthy choices lol. So I just limited my portion to keep it under control. Also had a low calorie dinner to limit damage. Went over calorie goal still, but not by much and still in a calorie deficit overall. I expect the small jump has more to do with salt content. Swimming this morning with daughter. She is doing so well at the moment and being really brave about trying new things. Its lovely to see
02/18 - 179.8lbs - back here again. Lol. Oh well, nice one for official weekly weigh in day. DH caught my cold last week, and DD came down with it yesterday afternoon. So broken sleep last night, ended up spending an hour and a half sleeping on floor next to her. Here's hoping her day isnt too rough x
02/19 - 179.4lbs - Finally moved past the .8 mark! Wahoo! DD seemed to be ok yesterday, so long as she'd had calpol regularly. She did nap mid day, which she never does anymore, and she slept well last night. She seems fine this morning. Go figure!

Currently doing a “100 miles in February” challenge for charity too, so I'm running 4km every morning and 10km on Saturday and Sunday!

2/12- 100.4 so embarrassed about how much weight I put on… doctors was a real wake up call, showed me the excess is doing more that just stretching my clothes!
2/13- 99.9 didn't eat very well yesterday and took a rest from running too!
2/14- 99.7 doing well but I know it's just the Tom water weight coming off!
2/15- 99.0 Well this is a nice drop! Had a lovely run this morning, getting faster every day! Slightly concerned about the weekend as I'm bringing my son to a fortnite thing and I've promised him five guys for lunch afterwards… I'll have to be on my best behaviour...
2/16- 99.2 knew there’d be a bounce back but still happy! Think today is a day off running as I'm out with my son but I'll see if I can squeeze an hour in later!
2/17- 99.5 That's the pizza and chips from last night! But I've a long run planned today so I'm not overly concerned!
2/18- 99.2 think I'm carrying a little water after my run yesterday. Ended up having a lovely 13.5km outing along the harbour. Beautiful sunshine and boats bobbing in the bay! Stunning! But I'm a bit sore this morning, going out for 4km recovery run later so that should help the muscles recover!
2/19- 98.4 The dietbet and the 100 mile challenge has actually got me ridiculously focused! I am dragging my *kitten* out of bed at 5.50 to go out for a run! Just for the possibility of winning my $35 back and because I want my shiny medal for my 100 miles!

Mini Goal: is to lose 10 lbs. in 5 weeks.
Overall Goal is to lose 105-115 lbs. (that is half my weight and will take time! I am OK with this because I will learn how to eat right, and do it the healthy way).
Day/Weight/Comment
02/12
02/13
02/14 – 222lbs - I am feeling good because I have a more positive attitude and being more active, like to be accountable, and this will also help with it
02/15 – 220lbs – Amazed at how much the scale changes, but feeling motivated.
02/16 – 222lbs – OK with this, I was concerned because my schedule was messed up yesterday, and ate later than usual. I am not sure if this played a part in it but I am OK with it.
02/17 – 221.4 – I was up early, like midnight and could not sleep. This tends to be the times struggle with eating more than I am supposed to eat. I did nap later before shopping so feeling somewhat better. My schedule somewhat messed up today. I will remain strong, even as hubby said we will order something for lunch from Domino's. I will not, because the saturated fat in everything and sugar content. I will have salad I put together myself.
02/18 – 221.0 – I get disappointed when I only see a loss of ounces, but then realize it is a loss, and any loss is a good one. Own the loss weather it a 0.1 or 1.0. Well today have the grandkids, so not sure what kind of day we going to have. The grandson is a handful with his behavior problems. My granddaughter will probably want to make some jewelry. I will try to get a walk in today with the grandkids. Have a great day all!
02/19 – 221.1 – I am not worried about the .1 gain; that is the joys of weighing every day. It all good and I won’t let this discourage me. Today I will get a walk in; my schedule was off with the grandkids off from school and the neighbors two I watch at night time. My struggle will know there are cookies the neighbor brought over. This was my downfall last night after completing meal plan. I ate 4 – good thing they were small.

11/02: 165.0: Goals: Gentle exercise after my intense 2 days of strength.
Not sure if the stall/increase is because of weekend food choices, increased strength training, or both. It's sometimes a trade-off situation when one decides to work on muscle toning. Looking forward to Round 68.

12/02: 165.1: Gaols: ✅ Hmmmm... Still plateauing. Under calories but a relative rest day after Monday exertions.
13/02: 165.1: Goals: Do grocery shopping, gym session, 9000+ steps ✅. Didn't get to gym, but did some circuits at home. Fitting in the gym is problematic this week.
14/02: 164.6: Goals: Well, there it is again! Planning a Leslie Sansone HIIT workout before I head out this afternoon✅. Did w/o plus some flex/strength. Ate most of my exercise calories on Valentine's dinner 😂 so will definitely be holding water in the morning!
15/02: 164.9: Goals: 1 hour gym session ✅ plus some walking later on today. Got in several walks outside between meetings. I'm wondering if the gym session will lead to water retention again.
16/02: 165.2: Goals: Lots of walking playing ingress with my daughters ✅ Over 270 minutes walking, 21015 steps.
17/02: 164.9: Goals: Rest day after yesterday. ✅
18/02: 165.1: Goals: ✅ On track with goals. Silly NSV: I glanced down at my toes and noticed that there are now gaps between them. 😂 😂 😂
19/02: 164.9: Goals: Gym session, HIIT.
THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

Aiming to carry on where I left off! Aiming for a loss of 1.5lb this round. Two things this round - Valentines on Thursday (so will be an M&S Dine in for Two dinner with hubby - 3 courses with wine) and then the weekend is cheer comp - two VERY long days of cheerleading at the Olympic Park which usually results in less than ideal food choices and usually a take out on the way home (McD's or KFC usually as that's all that's open at 11pm at night Will try to build in to my calories and macros and make sensible choices......
Good luck everyone
End R67 - 148.0lb
02/12 - 146.7 (-1.3lb) - the Sunday roast dinner "whoosh" but still nice to see on the scale! A walk last night so my steps were over 12k. Good food day and an hour at the gym tonight planned so all good
02/13 - 146.7 (STS) - fine with that as its not up!! All should be good today so hope for a drop tomorrow
02/14 - 147.4lb (+.7lb) ? Still down compared to the start of the round. Didn't do much walking yesterday (only managed about 6-7k steps - didn't have my fitbit on) and don't feel I drunk as much water. Also grabbed a meal replacement bar on the way out o eat in the car for lunch as still have a couple left ...... So maybe this? Moved away form these bars as wasn't losing much but hate to waster them!
Not expecting a loss tomorrow morning either as hubby and I have our Waitrose Dine-in meal for two tonight (mussels to start, venison steak with sides and a cheese board to finish with a bottle of wine - will enjoy every mouthful and not feel guilty. Happy Valentines everyone

02/19 - DNW - crazy few days - Valentines meal, weekend cheerleading competition and another meal out tomorrow.... Round not gone as planned! But am back on track eating well again today and drinking plenty of water! Haven't eaten well over the past few days and to be honest I feel terrible - bloated, lethargic - looking forward to getting back to "normal" eating Albeit trying to avoid the sweet cravings as TOM imminent.....

12/02 Went a little off my planned meals yesterday as went out for dinner with my lovely man, had some spicy Indian food to try and help unblock my ear, along with everything the doc has me on. Not sure exactly what impact this will have on my calorie deficit as had to guesstimate, I mostly had veggie stuff so it wouldn't have been too high and my watch also rebooted itself and wiped out an hour or twos data so my calorie adjustment is all to pot.
I did my 2nd cycle into work today, still don't trust the local traffic on the narrow streets, the streets here are still made for horses and carts going one way nevermind 2 way traffic, so walked some of it. I have pole class tonight so will have a fairly active day in all.
13/02 Finally got a drop on the scale woohoo, it's unusual for me to record the same weight day after day, my water weight normally has it up and down like a yo-yo. Aching like hell from last night's pole dance class, but have another one tomorrow so better recover sharpish. Got a reasonably quiet day activity-wise today and meals all planned for the day.
15/02 Not sure how I managed this but somehow skipped a day's info, so have corrected it now. Had a lot more food yesterday than normal so not unsurprised it's up, ate at maintenance-ish yesterday. Trendline in Libra is starting to take a downward turn again so happy enough. I have my catch up class of Pole Dancing this evening and a lot of walking expected 3km in to work/3km to pole dancing/ 3km to boyfriend's place later + the normal 3-5000 steps I normally get in over the course of the work day. My race training starts for rowing this weekend, so will probably struggle a bit with calories in the coming week, it's hard to find a balance between keeping a deficit and fueling my training to start with but I am sure it'll be easier this time around than the first time and the physical benefits of the training make a helluva a difference in my body composition, so there is also that to look forward to.
18/02 Took a maintenance day Friday and today as was experiencing some lovely PMT craving so weight is up a bit this morning. It's slightly disappointing to see the scale climb but I know it's just all the sodium and carbs I had over the weekend and the hormone bloatiness, I feel like Marshmallow Man from Ghostbusters the last 2 days. I made some Mason Jar salads for the first time in ages as I've been mostly having soups for work lunches over the Winter, kind of looking forward to something different.
19/02 Slept sooo well last night which is rare, I was up early this morning for a 6.5km row, cycled in to work, will be cycling home too. Mason jar salad yesterday was really filling.10 -

02/12 – 143.5 – I’m happy I’m still within maintenance range after my carb and sodium fest weekend!
02/13 – 143.5 – I had a tax client come in yesterday. I’ve been doing her work for 15+ years. She’s always been thin, but the past couple years, as she approaches 50, she’s gained a little weight. She was shocked at my weight loss and asked how I did it. I told her about MFP, CICO, and this challenge. She was blown away at the fact that we weigh ourselves every day and share our weight and stories with each other. Having been in this challenge so long I forget how intimidating something like this can be. Whether we’re up, down, or stuck in a plateau, it says a lot that we’re here.
02/14 – 142 – I realized yesterday morning that I had not been keeping up with my water, so I made a determined effort to drink plenty of it.
02/15 – 143.5 – More water today!
02/16 – 143.5 – Holding steady.
02/17 - 143.5 - I was over calories today, we'll see how it goes tomorrow.
02/18 – 143 – I’m surprised I wasn’t holding water weight this morning after my food choices yesterday. It may show up tomorrow or Wednesday, but I’m happy with this weight today.
02/19 – 142 – OK!

02/12- huge ice storm, strong winds and lots of snow. Did lots of exercise today. Long day!
02/13- Third day of brutal winter weather. I slept two hours because the winds were so strong, by the time I fell asleep it was time to get up. No school for two days means grandchildren, back on routine tomorrow.
02/14-Steps up 10,000+ , walking and yoga.
02/15- I slipped on the ice, and I landed on my back.
02/16- I really hurt, back of my neck, front of my stomach, back, underlay arms and my left arm my elbow is bruised badly. More freezing rain this week. I did a lot of stretching and walking.
02/17-worked on yoga. Sore throat starting.
02/18-continued on yoga, chopping lots of vegetables and making soup.

02/14 ~ 213.8 @ 6:00 am - pulled a muscle on Sunday, so haven't been doing much more than walking and stretching. Yet slowing things down appears to be working in my favor, lol ~ if it continues will definitely have to rethink some things. Happy Valentines ❣️
02/15 ~ DNW today. Accepted the best thick and creamy grilled cheese and tomato sandwich as a treat last night and didn't want to see it on the scale and possibly regret it, lol. Had a great night sleep, started T25 again, (although modified at about 70%), got in a good walk, some stretching and a seated abs and arm workout. Getting in a lot of movement and being mindful of food calories, but enjoying this lovely long weekend.
02/16 ~ 213.2 @ 5:00 am - Stretching, cleaning and 30 minute walk at home video already done. Attending "The February Cousins" birthday party tonight, so planning to eat light and drink plenty of water today to try and offset all the yumminess available later. Have a great day all.
02/17 ~ 218.3 @ 10:00 pm. ~ Couldn’t weigh until returned home last night and was SHOCKED. 5lbs in 40 hours is ridiculousness. Don’t think I’ve ever gained this fast, but too late for regrets! I am however, 100% certain these food combinations will never ever be repeated.
