02/12--212.7 Tried to go out for a run yesterday, but heavy wet snow started before I could get out. Raining today, so may try again later.

02/14--212.3 First weight training session with my trainer is this evening. My trainer has already sent me what we would be doing this evening and I noticed that there are a lot of exercises and while most of the exercises are familiar to me, there are some exercise I have never heard of. Weather is starting to warm up a little and the snow/ice is starting to melt, so hopefully I can get out running some time this weekend.
02/15--212.5 I had my first training session yesterday and it was great. Having a trainer is a kind of weird experience because you have this person constantly watching you to make sure you have proper form. After just the first session I realize that my form on some exercises is not as great as I thought it was and I can be pretty lazy, there were some exercises that we did that I knew if he wasn't there I would not have done that many reps. At the same time the training session also made me realize that if I just push myself a little I can do a lot of things that I thought I couldn't do. I was thinking of going for a run today, but I think I will take the extra time off to recover from yesterday.
02/16--213.1 I'm not surprised about the increase on the scale since I am probably still retaining water from my weight training from 2 days ago, but my weight trend is still downward. Going for a run today.
02/17--213.1 Finished W5D1 yesterday. I hadn't run in a week and wasn't sure if I should continue on with the training progression or if I should redo the previous week. Well, I decided to just continue on and if I wasn't feeling great then I would just reduce the amount of running. Well, I finished the first running interval and felt great, so I continued on and was able to finish without any problems. Today is a rest day, but I want to make sure that I do some stretching and foam rolling.

02/20--211.8 I knew there would be a whoosh this morning considering I had to go to the bathroom at least 3 times within one hour last night even though I hadn't drank a lot of water yesterday. I reached this low weight last round, so it will be interesting to see what happens tomorrow on the scale. Met with the personal trainer yesterday and after the session I realized that I really wasn't pushing myself enough when I weightlifted on my own...so far so good. Tonight is yoga which I really need after yesterdays workout.

Short Term Goal: Lose 2 pounds this round.
First Long Term Weight Goal: To weigh 180 by The end of February I hope to achieve this by losing about 1.5 pounds per week (or 2 lbs per round).
My Second Long Term Weight Goal: To weigh 160 by my Birthday on May 10th by sticking to my plan to lose 1.5 pounds per week (or 2 lbs per round).
My third Long Term Weight Goal: To weigh 150 by the 4th of July using the same plan as above.
Exercise:
During each Weight goal I plan on doing cardio in the form of dancing at aerobic levels whenever possible. I would also like to walk as much as possible although walking outside is impossible for me this time of year.

02/12 …..185.4 ….. Travel at the end of the round for some overnight medical trips will not allow me to do the last few days weigh-ins (unless weather causes me to cancel trip). This will be a tough round but I’ll do my best. My stats for yesterday: 708 Calories in / 2648 calories out. Net carbs 7. IF 16:8 A total of 19,105 steps which included a planned walk. 8.22 Total miles for the day. 13/13 fitbit step hours. I danced for 37 minutes & I walked indoors at moderate pace for 69 minutes. My sample song was “Footloose” by Kenny Loggins. A great high-paced peak song. Good Luck everyone on this round.
02/13 …..185.2….. Yesterdays stats: 848 Calories In / 2454 Calories out. 11 Net Carbs which was mainly my Cauliflower Rice casserole. 14,440 steps & 6.11 Total miles. I spent a bit of time briskly walking up & down long hallway (on purpose) during some of the calls to get my steps in. IF: 17:7 I completed 13/13 fitbit step hours. I slept 5 hours and 11 minutes which was very refreshing. I walked 50 minutes & danced 44 minutes. Sample song was “Lighthouse” by Ziggy Marley.

Plans for today: Stats: 1061 Calories In / 2492 Calories Out. 16 Net Carbs which was mainly Keto friendly Jalapeno Poppers to help me pump up my calories. 13,144 Total Steps & 5.58 Total Miles. IF: 16:8. I completed 13/13 fitbit step hous. I slept 5 hours & 41 minutes. I walked indoors for 20 minutes & danced for 22 minutes. Sample song was “Last Kiss” by Pearl Jam . (The remake of the oldie). I’m planning a fun day & night. Happy Valentine’s Day Everyone!
02/15 ….. 189.0….. Whaaaat????? Yes, I doublechecked it I know I ate over calories & carbs. Too confusing to count. But 3.6 lbs overnight? Hopefully some of it is water so I will work on that today. Calories Out 2344. 10,513 total steps & 4.48 total miles. I did not IF due to afternoon luncheon. I completed 13/13 fitbit step hours. I slept 5 hours & 15 minutes. No time for the dancing yesterday, but I did walk moderate pace outside in the freezing cold for a planned walk which was 41 minutes
02/16 …..189.0….. I still deserve this. Shame on me! Over on calories & carbs again yesterday on an “at home binge”. Likely from the hunger caused by the carbs from V-Day (the day before). Disappointed in self. Hard to count the foods but I know the carbs were well over 100 & the calories were likely over 2000. My best guess is that I stayed within CICO but nowhere near my plan. My calories out were 2394. 10,164 Total Steps & 4.3 Miles. 13/13 fitbit step hours. IF 17:7. I slept 6.39 hours which was likely a sugar crash since I rarely sleep more than 5 hours. I woke up very tired & groggy, feeling like I needed even more sleep. It feels like it’s going to be a miserable day which I have only caused for myself. The junk I ate does not make me feel good. I did get in 25 minutes of aerobic dancing. Sample song “Stayin’ Alive” by the Bee Gees which had the perfect beat. Tonight is movie night. A friend is bringing over “Aquaman” which I have not seen yet. I’m a big Superhero fan so this will be good. I will not be eating the popcorn or icecream sundaes.
02/17 …..189.0….. Thank goodness it didn’t go up. An unplanned out-of-town shopping trip found me eating my dinner at a restaurant. I could have made a bit better choices. Movie night found me eating some icecream afterall. Not as much as the others, but I broke my promise to myself. I hope all this does not end up showing up on the scale. Lots of work, as usual, on Sundays so I will be getting lots of steps in. Yesterday stats are too few to figure (again) but best guess is calories around 2000 and carbs over 200 (darn icecream). Calories out 2248. 10,548 steps & 4.4 miles. Completed 09/13 fitbit step hours due to car rides & movie. IF 16:8. Slept 6 hours & 4 minutes, probably a sugar crash as this is way longer than my usual amount. I did fit in a dance yesterday afternoon for 22 minutes. Sample song “Respect” by Aretha Franklin. I hope today to be a better day. Eating carbs creates an uphill battle for days following so I shall bare that burden today.
02/18 …..188.8….. Long day at work yesterday. No chance for exercise or dancing. I didn’t even get a chance to log all my food but I stayed mostly to food plan. Fitbit information: 2448 Calories Out. 12,188 steps & 5.17 miles walking during general work cleaning the cabins. IF 16:8. I slept 4 hours & 48 minutes. Lots of travel coming up which is not good. More derailing. As stated on day 1 of this round, this is a tough round to stay in check for me. Food prepping today so I will have things ready when I get home. Making room in my freezer today. More cabin cleaning so I should easily get my steps in. Have a good week everyone!
02/19 …..188.2….. Finally some progress on the scale! I Cancelled travel plans for the next 3 days due to incoming bad weather. Good day yesterday but could not close out my food log because my calories fell just a bit short of acceptable. I will try to increase calories slightly today but I will be stuck at the salon for a few hours on hair color. Yesterdays Stats: 988 Calories In / 2707 Calories Out. Net Carbs 6. 15,404 Total Steps & 6.55 Total Miles. IF 18:6. 13/13 Fitbit Step hours. I slept 5 hours & 17 minutes. I opted for an indoor walk with a friend instead of dancing. Walked moderate pace 31 minutes. There will be less activity today because of sitting all afternoon at salon but I will try to fit in some dancing.
02/20 …..188.2….. Lots of sitting at the salon yesterday so less burn, but I did stop at school & do 3 miles of inside walking to help. I also did a dance set last night. My Stats: 1809 Calories In / 2482 Calories Out. 97 Net carbs. 15,215 Total Steps & 6.44 Total Miles. 10/13 Fitbit step hours due to lengthy salon chair. I slept 4 hours & 37 minutes but wanted more. I walked indoors 1 hour & 21 minutes & I danced 31 minutes. Sample song “Folsom Prison Blues” by Johnny Cash. Lots of prep cooking today & I’m feeling pretty great about that. Pot luck tomorrow at the Pool Hall & I’m not feeling so great about that. Especially on the last night of challenge which may force a gain on first day of new challenge. 02/12: 209.2 - My son’s 6th birthday, and my 1st day on maintenance while we have a guest. Stayed under goal despite dining out for lunch and birthday cake in the evening. 🍫
02/13: 209.6 - Leftover birthday cake blew my goal out of the water. Luckily it was a small cake, so it’s gone now. It was so rich; I think I’ll be good without dessert for a WHILE! 🍫🍫

02/15: 191 lb. Indulged in Starbucks this morning and then had far too much cheesy pasta for lunch. Not exactly a great start, but I intend to improve.
02/16: 188.9 lb This is closer to my normal 'current weight'. I'm assuming yesterday's number was due to retaining water weight from some bad food earlier this week. Also, the fiance and I waited until today to celebrate Valentine's day - I resisted overeating movie snacks and made us a healthy steak and salad dinner. Yay!
02/17: 187.2 lb - Did a massive deep clean of my apartment today; was cleaning most of the day, so it was a nice workout. Also food prepped for the coming week - nice to see all those little meal boxes in the fridge and not have to worry about what I'm doing for breakfast or lunch the rest of the week.
02/18: 187.2 lb - no change. Also had massive junk food cravings today and let myself get way too hungry before lunch, so I ended up scarfing some chips and m&ms. I'll have to be more careful about making sure to bring a healthy morning snack.
02/19: 187.6 lb - ended up paying for those salty snacks yesterday. We have a catered lunch at work tomorrow - I hope it's something relatively healthy.

02/12 137.2 I only ended with a .2 lb. loss last round, but I’m starting this round 2.2 lb. lower than my weight yesterday. My scale likes to torment with me. On a high note, I’ve been experimenting with not logging calories, just following keto guidelines, and I think I can do it. Starting out, I had to track everything, but I think I’ve got the hang of it now. I keep experimenting with keto recipes that appeal to both me and my husband. I just add pasta or rice or potatoes to his meals. I’m trying to reach my GW by the end of this month.
02/13 137.8 Not bad, considering yesterday was a 2 lb. drop and I was up early this morning. After lunch with the Red Hat ladies, I did one tax return, then took Thor on a 6-mile walk. One of our Red Hat ladies, Ruby, celebrated her 85th birthday last week. Ruby is trim and let us know she jogs, because walking is boring. Ruby’s my new role model!
02/14 137.6 Better than nothing. Today, my hip was sore all day. It hurt when I started walking yesterday (from arthritis in back, per my doctor), but I hadn’t experienced hip pain since September, so it took me by surprise. I won’t have time to walk again until Sunday, so I should be all better by then.
02/15 137.4 Slowly, but surely. Hopefully, I’ll get below my start weight before the end of the round, but probably not tomorrow. It will be an early day to leave for a couple of concerts 2 ½ hours away. It will probably be close to midnight before I get home tomorrow evening—long day ahead. Time for bed now! 02/17 137 I see it’s going back down. When I saw the number this morning, I couldn’t remember if it was good or bad. There’s too much going on to keep my head straight. Other than my pushups and sit-ups, I’m not exercising today.
02/18 136.6 I worked this morning and did my sister’s tax return. She took me to lunch, and I had my favorite green salad with grilled shrimp. I ate half for lunch and had the rest for dinner this evening. My husband and I spent at least 3 hours working in the yard this afternoon, so Thor didn’t get a walk. Our yard is an acre, so Thor ran around while we worked. He sniffed every blade of grass, ate a little of the organic fertilizer, chased a squirrel, and warned the cows to stay away from the fence. My husband and I will have sore backs tomorrow, but we accomplished a lot.
02/19 136.6 No gain is good. I ate a big breakfast this morning, because I didn’t know if today’s women’s club luncheon would have anything I could eat. Fortunately, one of my low-carb friends brought a delicious soup her husband made. She even gave me some to bring home for dinner. 😊 I just looked my weight “report” and took a screenshot I’ll share below. I had not pulled it up since I started, but the downward trend it pictures is encouraging. I’m very close to goal now.
02/20 137.0 (sigh) I hope to be back under 137 tomorrow, but who knows? I’m happy to stay between 135 and 140, but I’d like to see the 135 before I begin maintaining. My hip is still hurting and my foot doctor made a temporary adjustment to my orthotics today to see if it helps my alignment and eases the hip/back pain that started after the last orthotics adjustment. At least I’m no longer having pain from the Morton’s Neuroma between my toes. The toe pain was my reason for visiting the foot doctor in the first place. One step at a time.

Good food but lots of activity, went around a zoo on Saturday. 11k steps, 120 minutes of active time (not sure how Samsung health calculates that, we were there for 5+ hours, maybe an hour of that sat down, so I assume it's non-stop movement). More walking Sunday and yesterday. Lots of salty, sugary, unhealthy food and alcohol on Sunday evening. Felt bloated Monday morning, I think my body has gotten used to better nutrition. Expecting a drop in a day or 2 as water weight goes, as I kept at least my 500 cal net deficit each day by the time exercise was added! (Based on calorie estimates!) Was a lovely weekend.

Which helped, but didn't provide any healthy choices lol. So I just limited my portion to keep it under control. Also had a low calorie dinner to limit damage. Went over calorie goal still, but not by much and still in a calorie deficit overall. I expect the small jump has more to do with salt content. Swimming this morning with daughter. She is doing so well at the moment and being really brave about trying new things. Its lovely to see
02/18 - 179.8lbs - back here again. Lol. Oh well, nice one for official weekly weigh in day. DH caught my cold last week, and DD came down with it yesterday afternoon. 02/18- 164.2 (Met my goals today, worked out core with weights - expecting a little bump up tomorrow because that typically happens with me due to muscle inflammation via micro-tears with strength training. Ate well, and even took a nap. I didn't realize just how exhausted I was! I think it will help my body learn to fall asleep sooner if I scale back my bed-time by 10 minutes or so every day... anywhoo...here's to building better habits!)

2/20- dnw my youngest turns 3 today but just like his 1st and 2nd birthdays he is unwell! Poor thing was up half the night with croup! This meant I was up until 2 and then up at 6 as his brother was up and wanted to do cake and presents! So with all that going on I just didn't have a chance to step on the scales! Off out for a run when husband gets home from work, food going well, haven't even eaten any of the birthday cake! So I'm hoping yesterday's number sticks!

Wed, 20/02: 165.0: Goals: Is a whoosh too much to ask for? Went shopping, then after lunch we went for a walk along our local beach. The weather is finally back in double figures. 11*C
Thurs, 21/02: 164.5: Goals: Dance class this morning, weights w/o and yoga after lunch.
Fairly happy with this round. Looking forward Round 69. I've been doing this Challenge since June 2017. This time last year I was 172 lbs. Today? 164.5! Vive le difference! It's been up and down, but the trend is downward!
THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.
- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

@thattoothfairy... I'm aiming for consistency! Sore in new places hehe. Today I'll try to finish all my eating before 530pm, that way my stomach can rest while the rest of me sleeps I discovered that I'm really loving this online- journaling. I feel it is helping with accountability. Thanks guys, you're the best... And to whoever reads this, I hope you find some inspiration in my journey as well!)
I can relate to that! 😂 I've been working on muscle definition, and have discovered a lot of new places! 😂 But it's worth it for the long term gain.2 -

02/12 - 280 - Was under calorie goal, hit my water goal and did over 16,000 steps
02/13 - 278.8 - Had a great PT session and worked super hard Did over 15,000 steps
02/14 - 278.2 - Did over 15,000 steps. And got an early night
02/15 - 278 - Did over 16,000 steps
02/16 - 277 - Had a pretty lazy Saturday. 12,000 steps Went out for a Chinese. Over indulged a bit
02/17 -279.2 - Walked up Rivington Pike today. Just under 19,000 steps. But wasn't great with food. Ate out and found it hard to track calories.
02/18 - 280.4 - Did over 15,000 steps. Went to the gym too. Stayed on track despite the increase on the scales.
02/19 - 279.8 - Glad it's gone down a bit. Hopefully it was just sodium or something from the food at weekend
02/20 - 278.4 - Feeling great again today. Glad I pushed through the last 2 days
02/21 - 277.2 - Really chuffed with this Had a great PT session last night too

I am 52, 5’2” and trying to get healthy for the last time and stay this way. I have high blood pressure, cholesterol, and very low vitamin D levels. I will log everyday here but have only one day I check in with weight and it is Friday.
SW: 225.8 (2/10/19)
CW: 222 (2/14/19 Valentines challenge)
Mini Goal: is to lose 10 lbs. in 5 weeks.
Overall Goal is to lose 105-115 lbs. (that is half my weight and will take time! I am OK with this because I will learn how to eat right, and do it the healthy way).

02/14 – 222lbs - I am feeling good because I have a more positive attitude and being more active, like to be accountable, and this will also help with it
02/15 – 220lbs – Amazed at how much the scale changes, but feeling motivated.
02/16 – 222lbs – OK with this, I was concerned because my schedule was messed up yesterday, and ate later than usual. I am not sure if this played a part in it but I am OK with it.
02/17 – 221.4 – I was up early, like midnight and could not sleep. This tends to be the times struggle with eating more than I am supposed to eat. I did nap later before shopping so feeling somewhat better. My schedule somewhat messed up today. I will remain strong, even as hubby said we will order something for lunch from Domino's. I will not, because the saturated fat in everything and sugar content. I will have salad I put together myself.
02/18 – 221.0 – I get disappointed when I only see a loss of ounces, but then realize it is a loss, and any loss is a good one. Own the loss weather it a 0.1 or 1.0. Well today have the grandkids, so not sure what kind of day we going to have. The grandson is a handful with his behavior problems. My granddaughter will probably want to make some jewelry. I will try to get a walk in today with the grandkids. Have a great day all!
02/19 – 221.1 – I am not worried about the .1 gain; that is the joys of weighing every day. It all good and I won’t let this discourage me. Today I will get a walk in; my schedule was off with the grandkids off from school and the neighbors two I watch at night time. My struggle will know there are cookies the neighbor brought over. This was my downfall last night after completing meal plan. I ate 4 – good thing they were small.
02/20 – 220 – Feeling pretty good this morning, a little sore from walking home from my granddaughter’s basketball game – this was an accomplishment. I am trying to walk more to get some type of exercise in.
02/21 – 219.8 – I am feeling good this morning. The winter weather and cold is keeping me indoors and have my schedule messed up. Grandkids back to school so will get a walk in today, when get my grandson after school.

My 3rd round. I'll be trying to keep under my calorie goals by at least a couple hundred a day, as I'm away at the weekend for a post-Valentines break, will give me more leeway. Won't be able to weigh 16th-19th.

02/12: 314.5 (-2.00) - Happy to see this again! After exercise - I added the "active time" minutes on Samsung health, just phone tracking of activity from my pocket - I was under by 600 calories yesterday.
02/13: Forgot to weigh, woke up in the night and couldn't get to sleep, had breakfast and a nap, all ok though.
02/14: 313.5 (-1.00) - Always nice to see a new low!
02/15: 314.5 (+1.00) - Hello old friend! Slightly early weigh, came in 0.5lb lighter later but I'm sticking with this. Away to a tiny cabin on a farm for the weekend, with my boyfriend, in the middle of the countryside. Heaven! Won't have scales for the next 3 mornings, will write if I feel like it, going to try and be a bit sensible with food but I'm not that worried.

02/19: 314.5 (+0.00) - Had a lovely Valentine's weekend. Good food but lots of activity, went around a zoo on Saturday. 11k steps, 120 minutes of active time (not sure how Samsung health calculates that, we were there for 5+ hours, maybe an hour of that sat down, so I assume it's non-stop movement). More walking Sunday and yesterday. Lots of salty, sugary, unhealthy food and alcohol on Sunday evening. Felt bloated Monday morning, I think my body has gotten used to better nutrition. Expecting a drop in a day or 2 as water weight goes, as I kept at least my 500 cal net deficit each day by the time exercise was added! (Based on calorie estimates!) Was a lovely weekend.
02/20: 313.5 (-1.00) - Forgot to post, technically the 21st here but weight and written the right day!
Woke up to an awful cold, won't worry about eating at defecit for at least today. Just hope it doesn't last long.
02/21: 315.5 (+2) - Very early weigh and I ate most of my defecit yesterday, so pretty expected. Still rough, slept badly which is why I'm up early. Having sciatica at the moment after over-doing it at the weekend just to make life more painful! Painkillers, fluids and rest today, that's my entire plan. Still at a defecit for the week, the numbers will keep going down, so I'm not worried. The daily weighing is to see trends, not worry about a higher number some days. I'm a month in and past the wooshing side so it'll be slow and steady from here on.
