    Venustraphobia and Selachophobia

Both must be handled with caution or they can put a hurt on you

growing older and becoming one of those people who is afraid of *kitten* anything new, like brand loyalty to a type of toothpaste and vacationing every year to the same place and repeating the same stories that got them social mileage at parties years ago and claiming music was better 10 or 15 or 20 years ago

now queensryche that was a good band nobody makes music like that anymore

Car washes. I cannot bring myself to drive through them. I make my husband do it.

I have no idea why they ratchet my anxiety up to 11, but they do.

    Cheese

    Well, Just Swiss Cheese

and honestly it's not even the cheese....

it's the black holes of the cheese, sucking in all gravity, time and matter into the cheese that concern me.

Honestly, no. But that's what I tell people, when they ask. I'm just scared of pain, and bees can cause pain.

This thread is interesting to me as a person with general and social anxiety, however, I don't have any phobias I can recall. It's fascinating what things in the world induce such negative reactions in some that the rest of us are just blindly oblivious to.

The dentist. It's really embarrassing. My rational brain isn't scared, but my body goes haywire. They have to give me a sedative or I start to sweat and shake and my eyes water uncontrollably. It's upset a few dental techs over the years.

I guess pretty women that are ex-nude models with an artistic side with no phobias are generally sane, but the cat lover variety might be questionable :p
Me too, VA says I'm relatively safe most of the time ;)

I don't have phobias because my fears are rational, but I *do* have fears. :p

I never said I wasn't questionable, just not crazy... then again, that is what a crazy person would say, so...

So, to be clear, rationally fearful with a touch of questionable craziness and in denial ?
Sounds like a hot date :p

Same! Well...idk if it's a phobia or not. I just stay away unless I'm feeling pain in my mouth. I'll go years between cleanings. And it does come from fear of things in my mouth. But I don't start shaking like a leaf while there...

I could see how this would be intimidating. She's so open, it could make me feel inadequate. Depending on her personality ofc.

I don't care so much about the heights.... and the falling isn't such a big deal.

.... it's more about the landing part.

Knowing that there is a snail out there somewhere that can beat me in a foot race. And it probably looks more attractive than I do.
