Do you drink diet soda?

I enjoy diet pop (I noticed hardly anyone called it "pop".) My favorites are Diet Pepsi, Diet Dr Pepper and Diet A&W root beer. I don't drink it often, maybe 1-2 a week I'll have a can with my dinner. My absolute favorite pop is Mr. Pibb and I will only drink the original of that, no diet Pibb.
I call it pop IRL (Michigan). On MFP, I follow the thread when it comes to terminology ( . . . even to the point where people call every silly kind of challenging exercise HIIT ).2 -

Michigan REPRESENT.
I try to understand the context when people use certain words in threads too. When people talk about binge eating, I try to take it at face value even though I don't believe they've had a true binge, but are celebration eating or stress eating or boredom eating or multiples of the above.4 -
m*chigan has good pizza, i'll give it that.1

Another Michigander-yep, it's pop Lol1

I know I'm the weird one here, but I actually prefer the taste of aspartame sweetners in soda, lol. The pure sugery ones are just too much for me. But it has to be fountain or can. I hate the plasticy taste that comes off the bottled versions.4 -

There's a few options that don't use aspartame. Coke makes a diet option that uses Splenda ie sucralose.
Coke Life is reduced calorie with Stevia and cane sugar also.1 -
Online I call it soda. IRL I use the term coke generally for all carbonated beverages. I use soda if I'm trying to be specific. Pop sounds weird.3

I have been drinking so much water the last few weeks I can barely finish a can of diet soda.1

It's a very neat regional indicator in the US.

I never drink diet soda. The artificial sweeteners are really bad for you. They are counter intuitive to loosing weight. They are proven to work against weight loss.

Except I lost 50lbs and improved all my health markers, while drinking several cans of diet soda every day. Now years into maintenance I still drink diet soda and consider it one of the tools in my weight management plan.

From the link-
It's not yet clear whether artificial sweeteners actually cause harm, however. Observational studies that link the sweeteners to health problems do not prove the sweeteners themselves are responsible.
eta: every study/article I've read about artificial sweeteners always says something similar in it, because there's no reputable scientific data that shows a.s. causes any kind of negative outcomes, besides in those who have sensitivities. And there's numerous kinds used in various products, so to make blanket statements that a.s. is 'bad' doesn't even make sense.3 -

No, I do not drink diet pop/soda. They all taste gross to me, is why.
If I am going to drink a sweetened carbonated beverage, I want it to taste decent and be worth the calories it'll cost me for it to do so. As such, if I drink one, I drink one made with actual sugar/cane juice vs. HFCS as that junk tastes nasty to me, too.
I also don't drink any that are over 12 ounces since I can't personally comprehend guzzling 20-30-40+ ounces of pop/soda/s.pellegrino in one sitting. And if I do drink one, I work the drink into my calories for the day vs. them being in addition to.2 -

Super weird because my hometown and current town are both in western Missouri (though not close together at all) and very blue indicating "pop" being preferred term...just about EVERYONE I know calls it soda, always.
I knew a handful of friends in high school (20 years ago) whose parents called it pop and I thought that was weirdly childish/embarrassing. Had no clue 'til recently that pop's a pretty normal term!1 -
I have to watch my caffeine intake so I drink diet, caffeine free pepsi however I am going to try to stop drinking it because I don't enjoy it like I once did and I know it is a chemical cesspool.6
