@dawnbgethealthy, Thanks Dawn! All grains cause me inflammation. At first it was only wheat, I found that out back in the early 90's, after a 6 month bout of hives. Horrible! Then in early 2015, I was getting inflammation and weight gain from all grains. If I eat any, I do so with caution. In February, I ate a half cup of homemade macaroni and cheese. I knew that I would hold fluid from the carbs, but I suffered inflamed and achy joints for 2 days.

Our bodies change over time it seems. Dairy and grains are purported to be healthy, but they bother so many people. I also have steered away from whole grains over the past few years. Weirdly, processed foods (like white toast with eggs occasionally) don't bother me as much as whole grains. Brown rice doesn't sit well with me, but white rice does, and will even settle an upset stomach for me (and for dogs), although I don't have it very often. I applaud you for being so in tune with your body.

March total: loss 1.7 lbs - This is all that I lost with a deficit of 18,713 calories

    March 31 - 172.8
    April 02 - Tuesday - 174.1
    April 03 - 173.0
April 04 - 171.6 - I was 170.9 on March 30th I have been dropping my calories from 1200 to 1100 so far this month, I am not satisfied with working so diligently to lose only a pound a month. There was bonus skating yesterday which seems to remove all of my excess water (and stress) and burns lots of calories, so a 1.4 loss in a day is likely due to that.

I'm finally seeing a downward trend again after gaining weight for several months, so hopefully I can continue that trend during this challenge. I want to get below that 233lbs mark again in the next couple weeks. That would get me back to a 100lb total loss.

Dawn, please be careful in decreasing your calories- sometimes doing so works against you as it slows your metabolism! I'm not a dietitian so take advice as you will but from experience this seems to be the case. I'm about 10lb heavier than you and I'm eating on a 1400 calorie count (MFP has me locked in at 1200 and i don't listen to it because research contradicts that) and losing weight! I know it seems odd but maybe increase your calories a bit and add a small 100-200 calorie snack in somewhere during your day to see how your body responds?

Had some fluctuation, I'll take stable. Trend weight is looking good.

    Game Plan:
    • Continue weekly meal planning ✔ So far so good. This is a huge help in staying on track!
    • Log daily in MFP - focus on daily calorie deficit ✔ Meeting my calorie goals, but they are a bit too low. Need to up calories burned.
    • Increase Fitbit steps from 2500 (March avg) to 5000 by end of April Hit 3000 one out of 4 days. My job is sedentary, so this is a process
    • Hit active minutes goal of 20 minutes daily Up to 14 minutes!
    • Increase strength building exercise from 5 days to 7 Still at 5. Like I said, it's a process.
    • Watch weight trend and don't freak out over daily fluctuations

    Thank you @tris2002 : - )
I doubt that I will stay at 1100, I just get so frustrated at losing only a pound a month. It is a bit of an experiment.
This post-menopausal metabolism truly sucks. What works at 48 really doesn't work at 58.
Deficit should dictate weight loss, but it hasn't for me the past two months (37,500 deficit) otherwise I would be down 11 pounds. I skated almost every day, but skating is reduced to 1 session per week now and that will end this month. Calories in calories out. I burned 1200 calories many of those days, and ate more calories, but kept a deficit. (eat more exercise more)
Thank you for worrying : - ) I was just whining a bit, and am sick of being obese.

4/5- 176.8 - Probably 175.8 I drank 16ozs of water just before weighing. Still holding fluid from butt and leg workout. Muscles are still on a low hum😃 My knee told me, unh-unh yesterday, so no walk. It was feeling unstable. Stretching and balance exercises accomplished.
