:) Here we are beginning another new month--spring in the Northern Hemisphere and fall in the Southern Hemisphere. A new month for me is a chance to make a fresh start on projects and new behaviours that I want to add to my life. It's also a time to discard attitudes and behaviours that aren't working for me.

:) If you made any goals, plans, or resolutions for March, how did you do?

:) Do you have any goals, plans, or resolutions for April that you'd like to share?

:) Traveling the weight loss journey with supportive and encouraging companions has added to my life for several years. I hope you will find something from this thread that will help you improve your life.

:) Be sure to bookmark this thread so you can find it again and sign your posts with a name or nickname and a location to make it more personal and make responding easier.

<3 Barbie from NW WA

March Resolutions (with end of the month comments)
*daily meditation (almost every day)
*SWSY twice a week (only a few times this month)

April Resolutions
*daily meditation
*SWSY twice a week

My word for 2019 is "pause".

The reason most people fail instead of succeed is that they trade what they want the MOST for what they want at the MOMENT.

Machka - tonight we watched a programme about Tasmania. Mainly about the wildlife. Wonderful. :)

    Love Heather UK XXXXXX

Was it David Attenboroughs Tasmania? If so, we watched it back in January and liked it. :)

Thank you Barbie, for setting up this thread again. I keep setting my goal at just logging my food. Have not yet done so. Maybe April will be the month that it happens.... I am going to try! I should channel Yoda "There is no try, just do!" lol
My weight has been holding steady for the past two weeks, I guess that's good as I'm not gaining, but I would prefer to be losing, so apparently need to change something!
We are enjoying the lovely weather that we are currently having. We have run out of landscape ties for our backyard project, so I have booked a rental truck (just a pickup) to go back to Home Depot and get more. Will also get more dirt while we're at it. Hopefully will be able to get enough to finish the project this time. Hubby has measured and calculated, so..... ever hopeful! It will look so nice when it's finished! Of course, the hard work for me starts after he has built the "planter", I have to go thru several smaller planters and re-distribute the bulbs that are in all of them. When we moved a few years ago, I just stuck bulbs in whatever we could take with us, I did a little bit of planting, but didn't have enough planters and kept buying bulbs (duh!) and just stuffing them in wherever I could. Now I would like to get some organization and some summer blooming plants as once spring is done, so are the flowers. Need some shade loving plants, I've found a few, going to get a bleeding heart and a hellebore. I also have a hydrangea that I will move into the backyard, there are a few brighter areas where it should do fairly well. That's my next 3 or 4 weeks planned out for me! On the bright side, doing all this should keep me from eating! I also need to get some work done in the flower beds in our complex, the weeds have definitely taken over!
Hugs to those needing them, congrats to those celebrating and welcome to the newbies!

Yes, Machka, it was his narration. Don’t think the project or filming was under his aegis. I love his voice though. :)

Karen - it was f.a.g.g.o.t.s  A pre-cooked small meat and offal parcel wrapped in sheep's caul. Delicious! You heat them up in onion gravy. Originally poor people's food. Apparently this upmarket deli makes the best ones. Ditto the fancy sausages.

Reading, 'Outrunning The Demons' - a book about how running helps with mental health and addiction. My son has a hard copy, mine is on Kindle.

Boob squeeze today. My DH is not inclined to drop me off there. :grumble: I think I will get a taxi there and a bus back.

MFP doing strange things, I cant bookmark April thread, it says I need javascript enabled???

    BARBIE thanks for new thread

HEATHER don't you just hate that procedure

MACHKA went to my sock knitting group on Saturday and the organiser was Australian from Tasmania. Nice group of ladies and managed after a couple of false starts to get a sock going

We've had a lovely weekend weatherwise but forecast for this week is not good getting cold again

    Belated Happy Birthday, Viv!

Thank you Barbie for keeping us going.

Michele your Bugs Bunny made me smile!
Dana thought of your 93 pecan trees as I started picking up sticks on the cistern path. Doing just a little bit at a time, will be a project like painting the Golden Gate Bridge :{ but so enjoyed the blue sky and sunshine, Rain forecast for the next week...
Rita Dang gal, both pics are beautiful, but WOW!
Beth, thanks for the Carrot Top Pesto recipe!
Machka your vacation cottage looks just right. Glad you made the time to enjoy it, wish it could have been 2 weeks, too!
Terri Thanks for sharing the walled garden pictures!
pip congrats on the lower chin-up assist weight. Well done!
Heather, somehow doesn't seem right that you must entertain on Mother's Day, instead, you should BE entertained... ;)
    Karen in VA thanks for asking heather about the whatever and sausages. It wasn't what I thought... ;}
Barbie, I love your weeding "like eating cashews" ;)
Rebecca I, too, am disappointed in steamed Brussels sprouts. Far prefer them roasted with balsamic vinaigrette. Yum! Beautiful views!
KJ yes I've heard that sauerkraut making is a quite smelly process. There's a nasty story about a visiting great uncle from the farm who was looking for the chamber pot and... p.s. I value my sleep too much to watch anything scary, my dreams are bad enough as it is!
Kim you are a blessing for your nephew. So glad he has you to talk with.

Welcome Nancy nsimon24, Luana in the Wilamette Valley, monaraehillw and lacwest6605.

Will summarize March and post April goals later.

    Lighter, lovelies!

My husband and I are adding to our "home gym". In March, we bought a rowing machine and I've done 6 rows so far. :) We've also got our bicycles on trainers and will be setting them up to use Zwift again as winter sets in. And we've got some weights.

    But ...

We'd like a treadmill with (at least) the following specifications:
-- can handle weight up to about 120 kg
    -- can handle speeds over 10 km/h
-- can connect to computer - download data
    -- durable
    -- long lasting
-- professional/gym quality or close to it.

    Any suggestions?

Barbie: Thank you for the new thread! Finding this group has been a blessing in my life, and I am grateful that you provide us with a new thread each month. It is a gift I value.

Viv: I log my food on my phone as I go along. That way I don’t forget to put in what I’ve eaten and don’t worry about remembering how much of this or that. I visit this group from my computer. I find it much easier than trying to respond from the phone. :star:

This will be a busy month for health issues for all three of us—DH, the dog and me. The dog has surgery scheduled for the fourth to remove a cyst on his backside. DH has a colonoscopy the ninth to try to figure out why his digestive tract is always in an uproar. I saw a dermatologist about a lump on my shoulder and he said it needed to get bigger before it could be taken care of. It is now causing pain. I think it is time to remove it, and not smart to wait around so I’ll be calling his office later today to see about an appointment.

My April resolutions will look exactly like my March resolutions. They are the core of what I need to do to stay healthy.

    Katla in Beautiful NW Oregon

    April 2019

    2019 Resolutions

    1. Log every bite and swallow. Done
    2. Cardio exercise at least 3 days a week. Work on strength and stamina. Done
    3. Have fun every day. Most days I've found ways to have fun, but a few days were stressful.
    4. Drink at least 3 glasses of water a day. Done
    5. Monitor sleep. Average 7 or more hours nightly. Done
    6. Avoid alcohol. I've indulged a little. :embarassed:

<3<3<3<3<3Lisa. Oooofff, that writing thing. :s I am struggling with mine, but managing to drag myself to the page around three times a week. Has stopping your blog affected things? I tell myself that even one sentence of nonsense is better than nothing.

I came downstairs to make lunch and picked up my phone which was recharging. Found a voicemail on it and nearly didn't check it as it said Unknown. It was the breast clinic cancelling my appointment this afternoon because of staff illness. They rang at 9.04 this morning. Phew! Saves me having to order a taxi etc. :D It's a gorgeous day out there, so I may go out for a walk or a run. Doing a veggie curry for dinner with lentils, left over bits and pieces and some lovely spinach.

    Much love, Heather UK xxxxxxx

Kate - I am still having the same javascript enabling problem. Have gone thru the internet tools, reset everything and it is still acting up. I'm using Windows 7.

    Kelly
    - your Indian meal sounded great, I love all those flavors.

Rita- I've been meaning to comment, you look much younger in your recent photo. I think you've not only lost weight, you've also lost years!

    Lisa
    - glad to see you back. You've had a lot of changes here recently - knee surgery, son leaving. I don't do well with any change it seems, good or bad. Glad to hear you and Corey are having the chance to enjoy each other's company again.

Our poor older dog... the other night we had a huge crack of thunder and lightening right over the house! Sophie is terrified of any noise like that and has been constantly licking, licking since then. Female parts and paws, you name it. I have some herbal sedatives I'm going to feed her today and see if I can get her out of the habit.

    Happy April Fools Day, ladies!
