What we need to succeed is a sustainable way of eating, not a DIET we go on and off.
This is NOT A DIET. It’s a LIFESTYLE.
5/22 125.5
5/23 127.0 Ate at a Chinese restaurant. I had General Tso’s chicken and even ate some steamed rice. This is what high carb, junk carbs, do to me.
5/24 126.5 Going to Pahrump for lunch today, Aviators game tonight.
5/25 125.5 Had a lovely steak salad yesterday, half for early lunch and half dinner. Had no snacks at the ball game or at home. Sewing day today. May make Keto goodie to share. No adult beverages last night.
5/26 125.0
5/27 124.5 Yesterday we had champagne brunch. I ate bacon, sausage, scrambled egg, one small spring roll, one fried dumpling, some sautéed squash, 2 glasses of champagne. Later ate 1 Keto snickerdoodle, 6 sunflower seeds and a handful of pork rinds. Memorial Day picnic today13 -

05/23 185.2 Nice to start the round with a drop that I was not expecting! Annual trip to the ballgame with DS1 so ball park food for dinner swapped beer for diet coke and gave him my fries but still expected a sodium jump. The game went to 13 innings so we didn't get home until the wee small hours of the morning so I will have to be extra vigilant about my choices today. I have now done 7 days of no sweets- need to keep the streak going.
05/24 IDK! Scale gave 185.6 and 187.2 maybe 186.4? A good day yesterday, was proud of myself for making good choices despite being very tired. The uptick is probably delayed reaction from the trip to the ballpark.
05/25 186 after work BBQ yesterday skipped the beer, chips and potato salad but really enjoyed the bratwurst and the sunshine! A little stress eating - a handful of ritz crackers - but way better than a handful of chocolate bars 10 days no sweets!
05/26 184.4 ! slept till noon so that's part of it! Had a good workout yesterday and a nice walk in the evening, back in time to see the end of the basketball game - so nerve wracking! Other than that a lazy day yesterday no errands, no chores, no meals - the boys had pizza and I had left overs (salmon and asparagus so i didn't suffer!) Lots to do today - but tea first!
05/27 187 I don't understand.

Pizza night with friends Sat and Scottishfest on Sunday all day. Lots of walking and will make light choices. Not going overboard like I did at Knotts last week. Took me 5 days to get that weight off and I'm dying to be under 185 now that I hit that mark beforehand. Not letting a holiday weekend sabotage my success.
Tuesday after Memorial Day the entire house will start JJs 10-Day Smoothie Cleanse so will fall half in this challenge and half in the next. I hope to see 10 lbs gone between the 2. That's my goal. 170s here I come!

Really nice night with another fabulous Skinnytaste dinner with family. Made Asian Turkey Meatballs with Hoison Sauce using my new air fryer. Gina's recipes just don't fail. Tonight yummy pork loin chops of my own recipe. Gotta stay away from the cookies the daughter made. Would love to see 186s tomorrow.
24-May... 186.8... -0.2
Oh what a night. Thankful I got through it. Pork Chops were lovely, but had too much wine. Still recorded a loss and I'm going to lighten up on the drinking tonight.
25-May... 185.8... -1
Better than I had hoped for and didn't follow through on the alcohol but chose prosecco at 90 cals/5 oz. So yummy. And Skinnytaste barbacoa was a HUGE hit in the house last night. REALLY happy to see that 185 again.
26-May... 186.4... +0.6
Fun night with friends. Salty foods, but made my homemade pizza with Skinnytaste dough so thrilled to see how slight this difference is. Been a great weekend so far. No time today for workout with early am church then Scottishfest. Drink and good time shall be had!
27-May... 186.4... 0.0
Loving no change. Wonderful day watching Scottish athletics; caber tossing, keg and stone throws, wandering the vendors, watching the sheepherding dogs, the pipers and drummers.. just incredible! Evening spent with friends who prepared smoked jerked ribs and chicken wings.. the exact thing hubby wants for dinner tonight, but mine. Will get a workout in today to be sure. Gotta get to the store. Enjoy the day! Americans were blessed with this holiday by the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom! God Bless America!

05/26 134.6 I intended to go to bed early last night, but it was after 2 a.m., and up again at 6:30. (sigh) That always results in a higher scale number, but it’s still under maintenance, and I had a good day. The morning concert went well, and I took a nap before working in the yard. I didn’t get my strength training in, but tomorrow’s another day.
Before dark yesterday, my husband brought Thor in and said Thor had alerted on a rattlesnake in the yard. My husband said he’d take care of it, so I continued with my cardio workout. A few minutes later, DH knocked on the back door and again on the front door before I could get to either, so I went out to look for him. I grabbed a hoe and heard the snake in the front yard before my husband showed up with a spade. Well, the rattlesnake waited for me to go back in the house and get my revolver loaded with snake shot, and I ended his threat to our tranquility. What I didn’t realize until later was that I was in the front yard, shooting a snake, while only wearing short shorts and a bra. Fortunately, we live in the country, and it’s possible only my husband saw me. Praise God, all is well.
@FarmerCarla Shot Gun Annie! The only thing I battled last night was cravings, how lucky am I ? Good girl you, for saving your husband lol. Nice job!

05/23 390.4
05/24 390.6 (+0.2) I am back. Very stress. Selling my Dad’s building. Very hard going thru his clothes. My sister did not want to sale until he dies. Long story, but my Dad is going to be living a while and thankfully he seems to be adjusting well to the nursing home. Which is private pay. My sister did not want to sell because she was living rent free. I am power of attorney. I told her we could not afford to pay for two residences for my Dad and his money was not for us to pay for her residence when she can work. She finally moved and agreed to sale but our relationship is still strained and it only us two. But at least we are still talking even if not much. My Dad comes first. Now pity party is over and back to taking care of me. I will start back going to WW meetings Wed. Online only was not working. I need the weekly support and check ins. I am going to try checking in here more too on week days especially.

Net change 2019 = (+17.2)I love below reminders from @TerriRichardson112 :flowerforyou:- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

I use the Vora app. Fasting does have some possible health benefits that haven't been too rigorously studied yet (e.g., cellular repair), but my main reason is that I'm on 1200 calories, and fasting helps me keep my hunger and caloric intake in check. Ironically, as you've likely noted, when you regularly fast, you're less hungry at the times you would have eaten.
Ultimately, it's still your overall calories that matter more than the fasting time. I've done 32-hour fasts, 19-hour, etc., and they haven't worked any better for weight loss than counting calories. Find your comfort zone!
Thanks for sharing this! My dr wants me to try this.2 -

05/22 …..194.6 ….. ENDING WEIGHT LAST ROUND
05/23 …..194.6 ….. Hard to believe after another day of travel that the scale did not move in the wrong direction this time. I’m hoping it does not show up in a few days like it sometimes does. Good luck everyone this round!
05/24 …..195.8 ….. And there it is from the travels! Yesterdays stats: 2080 Calories In / 3034 Calories Out. 123 Net Carbs. 20,198 Total Steps & 8.66 Total Miles. IF 16:8. 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 6 hours & 37 minutes which was fabulous! I took a 44 minute walk in the neighborhood after my higher calorie/carb dinner.
05/25 …..195.8….. Holding steady but *%$#*^ I had LNS I should not even have in the house. Sorry grandchildren, it is all going in the trash can today! I’ve got to get a hold of my diet. I am doing good exercising and/or movement so it’s clearly my diet that is failing me. Yesterdays Stats: 2376 Calories In / 2547 Calories Out. 114 Net Carbs. 15,123 Total Steps & 6.4 Total Miles. IF 16:8 12/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 5 hours & 44 minutes. I raked & hauled leaves for 52 minutes & I took a 22 minute walk after dinner.
05/26 …..194.7 ….. Now we’re talking! I decided at about midnight to prep cook for the next 4 days lunch (or dinner) meals. I was tired but I knew I had to do something. This will make it easier over the next few days as the guys continue to work on my kitchen. Yesterdays Stats: 1385 Calories In / 2504 Calories Out. 25 Net Carbs. 12,531 Total Steps & 5.3 Total Miles. IF 16:8 . 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 6 hours & 11 minutes which felt great. I took a short 20 minute walk. I’m feeling pretty strong right now & hope to stay on this horse & ride awhile. I found that I was so sick of some of my keto recipes that I didn't think I could stomach another bite so I got online & found some new ones to help keep my diet more varied & it's working. The new recipes are great & tasty. I just had to find/take the time but it was so worth it. My goal is to keep researching & finding more. Those great recipes and tastes are out there.......
05/27 …..194.3 ….. Another step in the right direction. Loving my new recipes & I need to do more prep cooking but today I have two roofs being put on over 2 of the cabins & I’m spring cleaning another cabin which is a two day process including removal of all furnishings, appliances & beds/furniture so I don’t know that I’ll fit it in. Yesterdays stats: 1073 Calories In / 2643 Calories Out. 30 Net Carbs mostly veggies. 14,371 Total Steps & 6.08 Total Miles. IF 16:8 . 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 2 hours & 18 minutes so I will be very tired later. That left me a lot of “awake” hours which make the hunger & cravings worse, but I powered through. No planned exercise. Too busy running the business & cleaning cabins during this holiday travel burst, but lots of movement. Have a great Memorial Day everyone.

05/23- 321.8- I’m really surprised by this. Yesterday was a celebration day in my house, and we had pie. I ate a large portion. And then me and my husband stayed up till 4 am playing a game together. And I woke up feeling swollen, with lots of inflammation. So maybe it’s a false low, or maybe I didn’t mess things up too much
05/24- 321.6- woohoo! I’m so excited by this momentum and I can’t wait to see it continue!
05/25- 321.6- I’ll take it, holding steady!
05/26- 323.2- I am incredibly bummed to see this. I know it’s probably water and inflammation but after seeing good numbers this is a real bummer.
05/27- 321.8- There we go, that’s what I want to see

05/23 326.4 A nice start to the round.
05/24 328.0 I’m not surprised by the bounce up, it happens whenever I have a hotdog. In addition I did some weight lifting yesterday and a couple of muscles are a little stiff/sore today. Last but not least I went a bit overboard with some cookies a couple of days ago and it usually takes a day or two for things like that to show in my weight. It’s okay though as I’m fully on track again and know that I’ll see a loss again soon.
05/25 328 I’m not sure why I didn’t have a drop. I’m guessing that I’m still retaining water weight. Hopefully I’ll see a drop soon.
05/26 329.6 I’m trying to tell myself that it’s pre tom bloat weight. I’ve been on track and low sodium, I log and weigh everything, so at this point that’s the only thing that makes sense. Tom should arrive tomorrow and hopefully I’ll see some drops.
05/27 328.8 That’s a good sign and hopefully once tom starts I’ll see more bloat weight go.

Had a tough last round due to TOM issues. I'm still recovering from an abnormal cycle, so I hope there is a good round ahead. Good luck everyone!

Day/Weight/Comment
05/23: 193.0 (I had a slight increase in weight and I'm sure it's because of soreness and TOM has just barely ended. I'm staying the course and hope the weight falls off as my body adjusts back to a more normal cycle. I made some chicken breast kabobs and rice for dinner last night and did a 55 minute TurboFire workout.)
05/24: 192.0 (My body loves this number! My weekly loss this week is 0.8 pounds. It's still the lowest weight I've been since on this weight loss thing. I hope to make my goal next Friday! I did my 5K training last night. I do 30 minutes and 3 of those minutes I ran consecutively! I was proud of that. It was hard no doubt about that! I made meatball subs for dinner last night and had a small one.)
05/25: 191.8 (Woohoo a new low! I did not expect this at all and I’m happy to see it. Last night I went out to dinner with hubby and some family. I had a couple pieces of bread and some short ribs. I did not do a workout yesterday.)
05/26: 191.0 (Now thats a new low! I officially have 50 pounds to go until my goal weight. I’m so close to my mini goal weight for Happy Scale. Once I hit 190 my reward is a gym membership. I’m so excited! Last night I did no workout and I was at my nephews 4th birthday party and ate a lot.)
05/27: 192.0 (This is an amazing Monday weigh in! I know this will be an amazing week and I hope I can get into a new decade by Friday! I ate pizza last night for a friends bday party and I did my 5K training yesterday during a little rain and 50 degree weather. I ran 3 minutes in a row and could’ve done more but followed my plan.)

Day - Weight - Comment
05/23 - 136.1 (-.8) - off to a good start. Did yoga yesterday and some other random cardio. Ate chips for the first time in awhile but didn’t go overboard, ate healthy otherwise. Not feeling bloated but I do feel sore from yoga.
05/24 - 136.4 (+.3) - feeling bloated. Food and exercise was good yesterday.
05/25 - 136.4 (0) - worked out quite a bit (yoga and cardio), drank 11 glasses of water, healthy food.
05/26 - 136.4 (0) - I believe TOM is hitting again in a few days causing water retention. Will see. Happy there hasn’t been a gain!
05/27 - 137 (+.6) - there’s the jump. It’s definitely water retention. DOMS, TOM coming.

@FarmerCarla thank you for the encouragement. I did not run or jog when younger, somehow the older me thinks it would be a good idea.3
