Goals for Round 82 (17th Round)
End weight for round 82 at or below 143.0
Drink 72 oz of water
Sleep 7+ hours every day
Add strength training 3 times a week.
07/02 143.8 starting the round the same as the end of the round, which is a better than last round. Going to a barre class today. I find them kind of boring, but muscles burn so I think it works and instructor is really good at adjusting.
07/03 143.7 took a barre class yesterday and really enjoyed it (still boring but feels great to stretch and I can do most of the moves) so will be adding that 3 times a week (more strength based than my usual workout)
07/04 143.7 my parents are leaving for a month on Friday on vacation so went to a very nice restaurant with them (prix fix) so did go over calories, but it was a once in a lifetime type of experience so is worth a slight stall in weight. Today I’m going to a barre class and eating light before going to a buffet dinner with family with a fireworks watching area. Hope everyone has a great celebration today!!
07/05 143.7, apparently my body really likes this number! I’ll take it though since I did have a full burger with ketchup and mustard last night and a few different salad options. I also had two gin and sodas, so stayed within calorie range if added all exercise back in. Today, I’m going to try hot yoga for the first time. The same instructor who taught barre yesterday is subbing for that class and she was really good at modifications. I’m not as sore as I thought I would be after barre . With elliptical I usually never take a break, but will take one on Sunday since I’m worried with all of the muscle classes I might overdo it and be out for longer than I want.
07/06 143.6, going to do a morning workout, catch a movie, run some errands and home in the afternoon to do some house cleaning.

My goals for this round are to stay on track with my activity, water, calories, and overall food plan. I have pre-planned the 4th of July to be nicely in calories and hopefully I’ll stick to that plan.
07/02 315.8
07/03 314.8 I’m not surprised by a pound loss, I wasn’t feeling well yesterday and had trouble finding food I wanted to eat. I finally felt like eating midday when I had a snack to hold me off until dinner where I had a favorite comfort meal that I haven’t made in awhile. I weighed it all out though and despite it being a favorite I stayed within my calorie goal. My nsv yesterday was not eating junk or overeating just because I wasn’t feeling well.
07/04 314.6 I’m so happy that I didn’t bounce up a little. I wasn’t great with water yesterday and I took a longer morning walk because the temperature was so much cooler. I also take a rest day on Wednesdays, which I didn’t take yesterday because of the nicer weather.
07/05 314.8 I’m okay with this. I was under calories, but higher on carbs than I’ve been recently. I also need to get better with my water. My nsv was staying on track yesterday.
07/06 314.6 I think I’m holding onto water before tom arrives. This happened last month and I held steady (outside my binge gain) until tom arrived. This time though I will not have a binge and will be patient. Hopefully tom won’t be ten days late this month.

07/02 – 162.2 Nice to see a drop, however tiny. Busy day yesterday working in the garden.
07/03 – 161.8 Stocked up on groceries with lots of fruit and veggies. Went a bit over on the fresh cherries with LNS but that doesn’t seem to have the bloat effect that the same calories of junk food would. Got out patterns and tidied up my sewing room to make a summer top that fits my present shape and feels good to wear (hopefully). I’ve looked all over for something but impossible to find a sleeveless top for my short apple shape that doesn’t have floppy shoulders and gigantic armholes. Worked out a pattern last fall so hoping it will be a fast, easy sew. Going out to the coast on the 12th.
07/04 – 161.8 – Happy 4th of July to all you Americans. Stayed up way to late last night dithering over how much to spend on a very good holiday sale. But no LNS! Hanging in there to get to 160’s. Not surprising to have 4th of July sales, but this company is in Russia (embroidery stuff – mybobbin.com).
07/05 – 161.8 – Went to bed at a reasonable time but but woke up crazy late (9:45).
07/06 – 162 – Good day yesterday, even did a few exercises + few hours garden work. With yard work this summer I think I’m burning as many calories or more than I was going to the gym but I think I’m losing ab muscle tone so decided to do my non-machine gym exercises at home.

07/01 …..194.6….. ENDING WEIGHT LAST ROUND
07/02 …..193.6 ….. Starting off another pound down, so the loss is sticking so far. I woke up starving yesterday, but after black coffee I had no hunger all day. I am sure I am fat adapted at this point. Yesterday was my son’s 23rd birthday. The party will be in a few weeks more than likely, but my son, brother & I did a mini-celebration late yesterday evening. We had a BBQ with steak, baked potatoes with sour cream, corn & grilled garlic bread & sherbet icecream. I ate the steak and 1 small baked potato with sc. No corn or bread. No icecream. It was pretty easy to stick to my guns since the hunger is at bay. Yesterday’s stats: 1071 Calories In / 2515 Calories Out. 39 Net Carbs. 11,008 Total Steps & 4.66 Total Miles. 13/13 Fitbit Steps Hours. I did 44 minutes of vigorous cabin cleaning. I slept badly only getting 3 hours & 24 minutes of sleep. Good luck on round 82 Everyone! I appreciate you all.
07/03 …..193.6 ….. Holding steady. 3rd day in a row yesterday with low hunger and low calories. Not enough water & very little shedding. I will work on that today. I expect lots of movement today as I have a full house and am booked out for the next few days due to the holiday. The lack of calories (or water) seems to have stopped the loss on the scale. But the loss is sticking so I’m pleased. I will try to increase my calories a bit today with healthy LCHF foods. Last night I had to eat 2 ounces of cheddar cheese just to get out of the 800 range. Yesterday’s stats: 1062 Calories In / 2450 Calories Out. 23 Net Carbs of mainly veggies. 10,185 Total Steps & 4.31 Total Miles. 13/13 Fitbit Steps Hours. I slept 3 hours & 50 minutes and woke up very early but refreshed (so my weigh-in was an early one). I took an 18 minute walk & I vigorously cleaned a cabin for 37 minutes. I am still feeling very strong in my plan today & my hunger, so far this morning, is still at bay.
07/04 …..193.8 ….. A small blip up. No worries, just normal body adjustments. I had a great day yesterday & stayed on plan. I hoped to hit a few extra calories but did not manage it. I added some almonds & walnuts last night as a snack to bring it over 1000 calories. I stayed active with work and felt pretty good all day. I did feel a bit more hunger than the previous days but found myself easily full. Yesterday’s stats: 1086 Calories In / 2929 Calories Out. 22 Net Carbs. 15,178 Total Steps & 6.42 Total Miles. 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 4 hours & 12 minutes. I took a 12 minute walk & I spent 204 minutes doing the cabin cleaning which also involves many steps. To all of us in the USA, have a safe & fun holiday & enjoy all your celebrations.
07/05 …..195.8 ….. Carb laden celebration for the holiday including some sweet indulgences. Best guess on Calories In 2475 / Calories Out 2378. Best guess on carbs 201 (ouch!). 10,167 Total Steps & 4.3 Total Miles. 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 4 hours & 57 minutes. Back on track today. Feeling carb bloated but strong in my resolve. I hope to be drinking lots of water today.
07/06 …..195.2 ….. Holiday is over. Back on track but I did eat some leftovers because I have an internal mechanism (growing up poor) that will not allow me to waste food. I did try to be reasonable. I also need to work on the water. I love water, but have a hard time putting down my black coffee to drink the straight water (which I feel is best). Yesterday’s stats: 1850 Calories In / 2644 Calories Out. Best guess is 120 Net Carbs. 13,036 Total Steps & 5.52 Total Miles. 9/13 Fitbit Step Hours as I worked on my quarterly sales tax package. I slept 3 hours & 12 minutes and ate very late. I also had an early weigh-in this morning. I had 95 minutes of rigorous cabin cleaning, 11 minutes on the elliptical & a 14 minute walk. I am going to try to keep it very low cal & carb today. The holiday was not Thurs, Fri, Sat & Sun. It was just Thursday, July 4th. I’ll try to keep that in mind today. Weight is down today & I want to keep up the downward trend & pre-holiday success.

Day/Weight/Comment
07/02 152.6 ~ {Steps 17,711} ~ It’s been a few weeks since I didn’t have to struggle with logging everything, YESTERDAY BOOM! My husband and I took a drive to the coast, Pete loveeeed walking in the sand!
Day 1 no LNS, under carb goal and not eat after 6pm ✅
07/03 152.1 ~ {Steps 14,331} ~ The day was spent doing a lot of errands in the morning, that being said my husband wasn’t working these last 3 days! Usually THOSE are the days I struggle with making healthy food choice, I call it a win even though the scale barely dropped!
Day 2 no LNS, under carb goal and not eat after 6pm ✅
07/04 151.6 ~ {Steps 14,331} ~ I seriously need to continue to focus, we decided to have dinner at our favorite restaurant! I usually don’t make the healthiest food choices and over eat, boom not yesterday, woot hoot! I can do this I can, I can, I can!
Day 3 no LNS, under carb goal and not eat after 6pm ✅
07/05 ~ 151.1 {Steps 18,362 } ~ We went to FreedomFest enjoying a classic car show with some entertainment, a tribute to The Beach Boys plus lunch. Pete did extremely well with the sound of fireworks[/b]
Day 4 no LNS, under carb goal and not eat after 6pm ✅
07/06 151.5 ~ {Steps 20,506} ~ Everything was spot on with exercising and eating until around 8pm. Yes, the late night snacks”attacked” me, hence the bump in the scale. The kettle corn keep calling my name, “eat me, eat me”. Time to jump back on the horse!
Day 4 yes on both accounts - LNS, under carb goal and not eat after 6pm

👍🏼👍🏼 This is NOT A DIET. It’s a LIFESTYLE. 👍🏼👍🏼8 -
I think it’s interesting that several of us have been having issues with vertigo and just being “off” a bit - I say I’m discombobulated. I realized that I didn’t feed Oskar yesterday morning before I left for the airport. Poor guy. Carl fed him so all is good.

@jenn990205 Sorry I don’t remember what plan you are doing but on keto/LCHF I have learned that alcohol doesn’t affect my loses unless it is wine. The sugar gets me. I drink mainly seltzer or diet tonic with carb free spirits and a little lime juice. I make a decent whiskey sour with generic SF lemonade mix (double strength) and whiskey. It’s those sugary mixers that kill me - or my favorite, Fireball!3
-
@deepwoodslady, Donna, you can do this, I want to give a “shot out” to you! No matter what life throws your way you keep jumping right back on the horse. Plus you always find time to cheer everyone on! That’s the reason why challenges like ours work!5

end weight from round 81 from 7/1 148.4
goal this round; 1.5 lbs less
end goal: 125
2nd round for me. This is a great way to keep in touch with others with similar goals. I'm 49 yo female Canadian expat living in Central America. Good luck all for to continuing the journey to all our goals. To reflect on the last 10 days. I'm stoked that I found this forum, although I'm still having trouble figuring out how to post. On 6/25 I decided to give up alcohol for a month, partly to help with weight loss, but who am I kidding...lol I need a etoh break anyways. So, I'm doing my exercise, and haven't had etoh in 6 days. My carbs are <100 per day..i know not exactly low carb, but i'm just analyzing the last 10 days. My caloric intake is fine, but I need more protein. So, in 10 days lost 1 pound...well, that's still 1 pound less, and no more gained...but more than that I'm on a journey so I'm stoked for the next ten days...
so, goals for this round stay under 50 carbs per day, continue AF, continue exercise...and just see what happens to the scale

Last full round before my almost 3 week cruise/land vacation, so I would like to just make sure that I stay focused this round so that I continue focused on healthy eating while I am on my vacation.
Goal: Average 100g of protein over the 10 day round.
Day/Weight/Comment
7/2: 207.0 Got 87g of protein in yesterday. I could have gotten more if I had changed out one of my snacks to something more protein dense. Trainer tonight.
7/3: 206.7...104g of protein. With the increase in protein I notice that I don't snack as much in the evening as I usually do and also know that I need to increase my water intake so I am also drinking more water. I will be working late tonight, but I still want to make sure I still go out for a run later today.
7/4: 206.1...95g of protein. I had preplanned to get in more protein during my evening snack, but I felt full and didn't want to eat anymore. However, later in the evening I still ended up doing some evening snacking but it wasn't my preplanned protein snack and it was just eating for eatings sake. I need to work on that. Didn't go for a run yesterday, but going to the trainer this morning.
7/5: 206.5...69g of protein. It's funny because I thought I was eating a lot more protein. Also didn't get much water in. Had a great workout with my trainer. I realized that without a race goal I don't have as much motivation to go out and run. I also realized that I was a little depressed that since I had my injury I would now have to start back slowly and all I want to do is jump back to the amount of running I was doing before I got injured, but I know that's not smart. So yesterday I got my big girl pants on and signed up for a 5k in August and I'm going to start up slowly running tonight. The race goal will also help me to stay focused with exercising while I'm on vacation.
7/6: 206.5...66g of protein. I didn't run last night because I worked late, but I went out this morning and ran 1.75 miles the longest run in the 6 weeks since my injury...it felt great. I'm going to work on my protein and water today.

What we need to succeed is a sustainable way of eating, not a DIET we go on and off.
This is NOT A DIET. It’s a LIFESTYLE.

7/3 124.5 I only ate about half of the small salad I made for lunch yesterday. Just not hungry. Made myself eat a Flying Dutchman for dinner. Next time I won’t add onion because Carl gives me most of his! Today doctor and stock car races!
7/4 124.5 Met daughter and 4 grandkids for lunch at Cici’s but I wasn’t hungry so had the steak salad I had made for lunch yesterday after doctor appointment. Ate a hot dog at the races last night- no bun. The doctor said my labs are excellent but we are changing my BP med.The races were great last night! Wonderful fireworks there. Today a BBQ at friends only a block away.

7/6 124.0 Yesterday ended up fasting for about 25 hours then daughter and I went to Mexican fast food and had a beef nacho salad. Only had 1.5L of water. Not sure what that will do to the scale tomorrow but it was the “last hurrah” as we are Keto shopping today and I will be cooking for the next several weeks as she recovers from surgery.8 -

07/04 160.8 - 13,100 Up from sodium and TOM coming. Will probably be up more tomorrow from all the carbs tonight and plan to eat at maintenance. The 4th has always been a big celebration for my family and my favorite holiday. I hope you all have a wonderful 4th!
07/05 162.4 - 13,700 calories were fine but between carbs and the worst pms ever, I have massive water retention.
07/06 163.8 - 10,900 terribly swollen today. My fingers hurt to bend and my face looks like I went out drinking all night. But on the plus side, all this water retention has filled in my wrinkles. Lol! Finally TOM has arrived this morning so hopefully just a few more days of this misery.

Hi. My name is Trina. I've been back on MFP for a year now, am down 65 pounds and just 4 pounds from my revised goal weight! A year ago, this seemed like a pipe dream. I've been doing this challenge since Round 54 and it has been a blessing in helping to keep me focused and positive through the daily ups and downs of this journey to better health! Thanks to all for the wonderful support!

07/02 133 New low. This is actually the usual pattern. Down a little down a little more, than spike up before coming down...and then to a new low. It works...but it's a crazy ride! Strenghth class and zumba yesterday. Ate clean and healthy.
07/03 132 A new low! Definitely this one goes back 27 years. Not sure I've seen this number since I've been married! Stuck to low carb yesterday. Only a half of a real brownie my son made and then I made myself a pretty dang marginal brownie in a mug...which satisfied my craving to make a brownie in a mug, anywayand was at least filling. (P.S. I'm silently and in slow motion jumping up and down for joy....don't want the scale to hear me and backtrack!)
07/04 133 --Oooh. Definitely happy to still be seeing these numbers! 90 minute zumba party with 350 people this morning at the YMCA
07/05 133.5 -- Not bad after July 4th. Had a glass of wine and half of a piece of cheesecake, dinner was chicken and salad -- but the salad had lots of candied nuts and dried cherries). Ended dinner really full! Drank lots of water.
07/06 134.5 Yesterday was a good day. Strength class, step class, did some extra squats/step ups/planks and ate fine. Hopefully this is the uptick before the whoosh? Or just the scale in a bad mood! (I stepped on the scale after zeroing it this morning and must have shifted funny--because the first weight it gave me was 000.0. Yeah, right! Must have triggered the zeroing function when I stepped up!

OSW - 169.8 lbs (Sep 2018)
RSW - 149.6 lbs
RGW - 147.0 lbs
UGW: 145 lbs (Maybe. Now that I'm under 150, I'd like to focus on muscle building and strength training, so I'll be flexible with that UGW. For now I want to make sure I'm comfortably below 150).
Round 81 (My 1st Round): SW 150.2, EW 149.6 (- 0.6 lb)
Round 82 Goals:
- Charge my HRM and wear it to a few kickboxing classes to get a better baseline for calories burned in my workouts.
- Stick to my planned meals for this week (shakes for breakfast, greek salad bowls for lunch, dinners with veggies, lean meats and not a ton of starchy carbs). Over the weekend, make another meal plan and prep for next week.
- Drink at least 3 tumblers of my water while at work each day.
Day/Weight/Comment:
7/02 - 148.4: A nice way to get Round 82 going! I hit my water goals yesterday, stuck to my food, and went to the gym for a nice sweaty boxing session. I'm finding it really beneficial to weigh the whole dish for a meal that isn't easy to portion out by volume/sight (last night's dinner was a "lightened" up chicken Parmesan casserole), and then just weighing my portion to confirm the serving size. I'm also finding that we do well when I have alternatives in place, instead of making two different dinners or expecting my husband and son to eat as light as I am. Last night, I wanted a little extra texture, so I ate my serving of chicken parm on top of 2 air-fried eggplant rounds, and the boys put theirs over gnocchi. I did eat back all of my tracked workout calories (which are probably a low-side estimate anyway) on some treats, which I don't normally do. But they sure did taste good!
7/03 - 147.8 Oh boy, this loss was hard won! Yesterday had all the makings of a day to throw in the towel and just say I'll start back up later. I was hungrier than usual in the afternoon at work (and had to work later), I thought I had the right ingredients in the fridge for dinner but I didn't, and my child was being extra cranky while I was trying to get dinner in the oven. So I scrapped the fussy recipe I had planned and went easy with baked fish and veggies, and I let myself go a little over calories for a couple of cookies. And now I'm so glad I did, because I'm just a bit away from the lowest weight I saw last round!
7/04 - 147.4 **New Low!** And kind of surprising to see! Water was good, but no workout yesterday, and I didn't eat my planned lunch salad since I was able to get off of work early and do a birthday lunch for my mom. I actually made some good choices at lunch, but it was definitely heavier than I planned on! And then we ended up grabbing burgers and fries before some fireworks...I did make sure to bring a water bottle with so I could help to combat the sodium, and I didn't do any snacking when we got home.
7/05 - 148.0 Not bad after indulging for the 4th a little! I did a teeny tiny little workout before we left for the pool party (and now I'm setting a goal to figure out a good little half-hour, at-home/backyard circuit that I can do when I just want to get a quick sweat on and can't make it to the gym). The pool party was a mix of splurges and good choices. The good choices: I avoided the hot dogs, buns, potato salad, cupcakes, and beer. I brought my own water bottle to keep hydrated, I brought carrots to use a dipper in the hummus, and I played in the water a lot with my son. And even though nothing was a real meal, I felt bloated and full so I didn't force myself to eat dinner by the time we got home. The splurges: homemade frozen adult beverages, some key lime pie, and still went for plenty of tortilla chips with my salsa. I'm back at work today, and very excited that my mindset is naturally going to "Ok, back to normal with tracking" instead of "well, it's Friday, let's just wait to start up again Monday!"
Other thoughts - I didn't realize til last night/this morning that I had been feeling a little nervous about this week. Between my mom's birthday, the July 4th holiday, and being over 2 weeks into tracking every day (usually I don't end up tracking at least one day on the weekend, even if I'm still pretty good), I wasn't necessarily thinking I would screw up all of my progress, but I was worried about not having a plan. And now that it's over, even if I see a little bounce over the next few days, I'm ok! It wasn't anything to worry about, I survived and my healthier choices are becoming more and more ingrained the longer I'm on my journey.
7/06 - 147.6 Nice! No workout yesterday, but my water and food at work on Friday were very good! At night I was tempted to give in to some splurges for dinner, but by the time we got the kid to bed, I had lost that impulse. So I warmed up leftovers from earlier in the week and was a little over my calories because of some snacking, but still at a deficit. Sometimes I just need to give myself some space to think about by food choices. If I had really wanted to eat off plan, I could have, but taking some time to think about if it I really wanted it or if I was just stressed/bored/unfocused helped!
Saturday morning workout classes are still so fun and so tough. I wore my HRM and it said I burned 700 cals in one hour! Still taking that with a grain of salt and not going to eat them all back, but it’s nice to see some numerical data supporting my hard work.
