@PastorVincent I imagine you starting to run and turning into Flash. Seriously, though, I do hope everyone is okay. That's some scary stuff.

Today I bring very sad news. Longtime member and supporter of us all @MobyCarp has passed on. Here is the FB post from his daughter:

I know very very little, just what I read on the linked post.

You beat me to it. I'm not around here much but wanted people to know.

@martaindale The treadmill is hard to get used to. At least the DH is out running and you have that to do together. I have a hard time slowing down as I know I should too. I so want to be a faster runner.

You guys, I know exactly how you feel. Why does slowing down have to be the hardest part of running?

Yeah, I think it’s easier for some people than others. I don’t find it hard to run on a treadmill, just boring. It actually feels pretty natural and I find I think less about my feet just because I’m not dodging stuff on the sidewalk or watching for uneven concrete tripping hazards. It makes him so uncomfortable he can’t stand up straight and get a decent running form. It doesn’t help that he is 6’1” so having a hand on the treadmill to steady himself is unnaturally low for him. He handles the heat better than I, but he hates getting up in the morning. But, early morning wins out for him this time. Even if I woke up with him, I wouldn’t have time to run and be ready for work, so I’ll stick with my afternoon treadmill sessions.

On my 34th anniversary, my wife's gift to me was to allow me to run 15 miles this morning. It was a good run, up until I swallowed a big gnat. It is a normal occurrence, and it seemed to go down normally, but still felt it in the back of my throat. Took a few sips of water and thought it was good. But then I felt it coming back up! 😝
Kept coughing to try to get it out, but just kept getting worse, like I couldn't breathe. People on the trail kept looking at me funny and asked if I was alright. Finally had to stop and take a big drink. That finally washed it down.
    Not my finest moment 🤪

Oh, the gnats! I had one hit me in eye and I thought I got it out. I made it home and my eye was tearing up and kind of felt weird. Went into the bathroom and flushed it out with saline and the freaking gnat was under my eyelid. Still alive!! So gross!

What a shock. He was such a positive presence and such an inspiration to me. I knew I could never come close to his skill level but he was endlessly supportive of runners of every level here. Just shocked.

This is just heartbreaking! I just saw it on Strava. I don't even know what to say. He was such an inspiration and always so supportive of all runners. I learned so much from him. He will be truly missed.
