Connie, You are an awesome mom to have created such a safe family for your child.

Allie ~ Congratulations on getting into the new small capris. I haven’t been able to wear that size in years due to my large waist and rear end. Hope you enjoy seeing the movies with your brother and Taliah.
Karen in VA ~ Your brother is very talented. His paintings are ethereal.
Connie ~ What a wonderful idea to see that your daughter has someone to depend on if you are unable to be there for her.
Heather ~ You are blessed to have your grand children near by and to have a husband who loves spending time with them. My two live about 45 minutes from us but we don't see them often because the whole family is busy almost every day of the week.
My husband has spent the last three days tending to his BnL's needs and his house. I have had to admit to myself that I am a bit jealous and am praying that my attitude will improve. DH feels obligated to see after him but is feeling stressed with all that has to be done.
Overcast and gloomy here today with storms promised late in the afternoon. The Pom gets scared out of him mind when it thunders.

Taking me on the iPhone multiple tries to get in here daily still it gives me all sorts of fun sayings. Pushing star to bypass when I get passed the no connection screens. They hopefully will fix this soon but super glad the food log area works no matter what!
Apple Pie 🥧 to cut down on sugar never use tart 🍏 apples! Use sweet apples 🍎 the natural sugars sweeten the pie so you can cut the amount of sugar used in the pie considerably! Saves money too!

Term Family - never ending changing thing. Many households for my Daughter generations never had a biological father in the picture so a StepFather to even a grandfather gets the title Dad. Some have a Father but it was arranged older Woman who’s hubby wouldn’t let her have kids so divorced then meets a friend willing to help her IVF a few kids he may or may not choose a title (Godfather,Dad,Moms Friend, or chose to cut ties to let her do as she wishes). You have kids being raised by their parents but we’re not created from their Sperm, egg,or both they used a Donor to family member or even friends. Some Moms are carrying the children for their Daughters so can be multiple choices on where egg y sperm come from then it’s placed in Grandma 👵. Then they decide the names they want for after baby. (Grandma,2nd Mom,Biological Mom,etc) .Laws are still catching up in many states. Friend of mine y her Husband used IVF had a baby son.His ex wife y him had Daughters naturally that were adults by then in their 30-40’s. After his death the courts awarded everything to the ex wife y her kids saying IVF it wasn’t his! That was 20+years ago when IVF was still uncommonly used the young mans of course older than my Daughter now but his Mom found herself penny-less raising a baby her parents lived in another country! Luckily his parents took her in y she found a job scraping by until he was grown up. Surely the laws in Texas have caught up but who knows! Got to have lawyers for everything now of days. He grew up calling his Uncle Dad who took him to all his sports y events.(Too young to remember his real Dad at time of death)

The first picture is Bea 's show. You can just see her. It was hilarious and totally chaotic. Such a great nursery. Some of the teachers have been there 20 years. They had an' Outstanding ' inspection result.
The second picture is the amazing butcher /deli we called at on the way home. You can see the Scotch Eggs we bought in the middle and further on, DH' s nutmeg custard tart. From the butchery section we ought two lots of calves liver and pork ribs.
Then we went to the supermarket and came home on the bus absolutely laden.
Italian sausages and spinach tonight, followed by stewed plums and homemade yoghurt.

Luci, Carol, Heather love the pictures!2 -

I understand about the humidity! I lived in middle TN for 16 years! Heat and humidity hurts many. Including my arthritis, my DH’s arthritis and the heat makes me light headed and feel faint. Worse with humidity. Humidity is one reason I’m in New Mexico now.
No need to apologize and I’m sorry if I came across rude. Didn’t mean to.

Was reading pg 62 and I got a notice saying that Roswell is having a “Turtle Marathon “ in August. Wonder if that has real turtle races or slow people or......ideas?? Gonna have to look that one up!

It’s a very long story, but I’ll try the abbreviated version. I wanted to make sure that my daughter would be taken care of if anything ever happened to me. My sister just can’t be trusted, so my very best friend ever did a second parent adoption. He is legally her father even though we never married. His mom is a grandmother to my daughter in every sense of the word. She calls me her daughter-in-law, so I joke that she is my “mother-in-law by proxy”.
I know some would not agree with the arrangement, but it works for us

What an awesome way to provide for your daughter!

Hi all. It's a scorcher here today...the heat index will be 115! When I went out to get the paper, I was sweating by the time I walked back! Not a good sign!
I'm doing well on food intake. Just don't have much appetite with the phentermine, which is good, except now I have to eat on a schedule because I actually forget! The first time I realized that, I about fell over! Who'd a thunk it?
My dishwasher bit the dust I think. No water comes in. I checked all the usual suspects (sprayer arm being clogged, float stuck) but I can't get on my knees to pull the intake valve out to check the screen. I have to wait until Wednesday to get someone out here. Ugh! I guess it's paper plates for a few days, which I HATE because it's so much waste. I have been kind of keeping track; I put out less than 4 gallons of trash a week-including cat litter! However, I totally fill a 40 gallon recycle bin and usually have 3-4 orange energy bags too. Those are the ones you put all the plastic in that doesn't go in regular recycling...empty toothpaste tubes, bread/chip bags, plastic wrap on frozen meals, etc. So I have only a tiny amount of garbage and hate to add to it. I even wash plastic plates! And zip lock bags! My friends just howl. One day I will wake up green.
OK stay cool everyone! I'm off to lunch with my best friend! Take care, Meg from the oven that is Omaha
OH, ps....Sardines! YUM. Spread mustard on a saltine, top with a sardine. Sounds dumb, but that's a comfort snack for me. Plus healthy fat and calcium! And I'm loving all the pictures!5 -
Oh PSS: I organized my shoe closet. I realized I was a shoe nut, but holy crap...115 pairs!3

Thank you to everybody who offered all your support for our family. Hannah is a very happy kid and knows all about the legalities. He is a great dad and recently married his partner whom he has been with since 2000. It just works well for us!
The gout is somewhat better today. I really think the tart cherry juice helps!!
Super hot here so I guess I’m staying inside the rest of the day!!

My mother just now decided to have fried chicken for the family tomorrow night after my brother's funeral. I guess I could just eat one piece and try to eat something else before or after. It's going to be a tough day, the last thing I need is to eat high fat. The chaos of family is already getting to me.4
