I was just wondering about your color scheme. Is there a reason why you chose green for gains, and red for losses? My brain gets confused whenever I see it!4 -
My highest weight was 197# at 5’4”. I’m 48 years old.

8/21 - 157.5 - the catch up from the carb-o-licious Monday. Made it to the pool and could actually get in finally! I’m 6 weeks post-op and my restrictions are lifted. T-minus 2 weeks until I return to work!
8/22 - 156.5 - the turn around in eating makes all the difference. And sticking to it. I was “lazy” yesterday. Swam, ran errands, watched Supernatural on Netflix, did very little cleaning, but I made sure to watch my food and drink my water. I’m hooked on “pork rind chips” for a crunchy snack lately. I can season them with whatever sounds good at the time and crunch away. Today is gym day and some serious cleaning.
8/23 - 157.5 - I’m sure the weight is water retention. I kicked my own booty in the gym yesterday!
8/24 - 158 - too many carbs, sore muscles from more gym time yesterday. Need to check myself and chug my water.

8/26 - 158 - I know what I’m doing but not controlling myself at all. I have got to get myself together! I will finish this round strong! Even if it feels like it’s going to kill me.
8/27 - 157 - my weight is down, and so are my emotions, so I expect this to change. I’m completely out of ketosis. It’s like watching a cruise ship hit the dock. I see myself spiraling. I go back to work next week and I need to be in control by then. I’m going to fast starting today. Egg fast, anyone?
8/28 - 157.5 - it’s AMAZING what one day can do! My weight is up a little, but I’m completely back in ketosis. I haven’t been drinking enough water, but I’ll catch up today. Mowing my honey’s back yard. Mowed the front last night. Good workout & it just felt good. Going to try to get back to OMAD.
8/29 - 157 - OMAD didn’t go so well after all that activity. I felt soooooo hungry last night! It’s all about pacing. Still need to finish of strong.9 -
I'm back and hoping to get rid of the almost 10 pounds I "gained" in the last round. I know it isn't a real gain, but it's still very annoying. I was dealing with hormones and the a death in the family last round, so it just wasn't a great round for me. I have been doing this long enough to know that freaking out isn't going to do anything and I just need to get back on the horse and take care of business. I just found out we will be leaving on the last day of this round and going to Texas for my father-in-laws funeral services. So I have 10 days to get back down, so that I can take a 4 day weekend and hopefully do better than last weekend.

08/21 - 145.1 and just like that, there goes 3 pounds of sodium/stress weight overnight. Crazy what a little bit of water and eating at home does for you. Today is all set and I should be down more tomorrow. Things are finally calming down at home and after a long drive by the lake last night to clear our heads, my husband and I slept like babies. Amazing how you feel so different after a great nights sleep.
08/22 - 144.1 was within calories and probably would have been lower, but I chose to use soy sauce on my rice last night for dinner. So my sodium was way higher for the day than it should have been. As long as I can get back down to 142/141 something by the end of this round and stay there for a couple of days I will be happy.
08/23 - 142.1 And I am back here. I think this is a realistic weight for me right now. I have been at 142.xxx for 10 out of 23 days this month. I have been lower and higher, but it always comes back to here. Hopefully I can consistently see 141 before leaving next Friday, but you never know what's going to happen. Was very low cal all day yesterday and should be today as well.
08/24 - 142.1 Was on point again yesterday. Cleaning, laundry, errands, and grocery shopping is on the to do list today. So hopefully I don’t fall off the wagon this weekend.
08/25 - 143.1 up a bit and no real reason that I should be. Had a couple of beers watching the Cowboys game last night so maybe it’s because of that. Going to lunch with family and having a fantasy football draft party tonight. So I’m expected to be up tomorrow a bit, but hopefully not to bad.
08/26 - 146.9 My normal Monday blip up. Had breakfast out yesterday morning and took a rest day. I am really sore for some reason today, maybe from all the activity I did on Saturday and I had a pretty restless nights sleep last night. Was hoping to be lower, but with everything going on right now, I am just happy that I am able to maintain at this point. I ate a few 100 calories over yesterday, but this is all sodium and water retention from not eating my normal foods. I should be back down by Tuesday and hopefully finish the month at 141. If I can do that it will at least give me a 2lb loss for the month.
08/27 - 144.1 It's amazing how much restaurant food and a Bloody Mary affect me. I was totally within calories, but the sodium that they must cook with kills me every time. We always go out and eat on Sunday's with a lot of our family just to catch up and stuff and I gain at least 3-4 pounds every time. I go home and drink tons of water afterwards, but it always shows on the scale the next morning. I'm so used to it by now that it doesn't even bother me. By tomorrow I will be back down to my normal 142.xxx and maybe see that elusive 141.xx before we leave on Friday for my FIL funeral in Texas.
08/28 - 142.7 now if I could actually make some progress the next couple of days that would be great!
08/29 - 143.5 This is from eating dinner at 8:30 last night and we decided to get Whataburger. I ate a grilled chicken sandwich with only half of the bun and that kept me within calories, but I am sure the sodium and the timing of dinner did not help my weigh in this morning. August has been a complete wash at this point. My happy scale app says my trend weight is down .2 from last month and I only lost about a pound and a half. My non-scale achievements were way better. My waste measurements are down to about 27-1/2" to 28" depending on the day and my "mom pooch" is down to about 31". My thighs are also down to about 19-1/2" to 20" too. I also just had to buy some new jeans and they were a size 6. I haven't bought a size 6 in about 5 years. Now granted I still bought the high wasted mom jeans to help suck that lovely mom pooch I have back in, but I am calling it a win. I will probably finish tomorrow at 142.xxx and I am fine with that. Maybe September will be a better month for me, lol.

08/21 - 224.2 - I thought it would be more. My eating was not the greatest yesterday as I traveled for work and had a high sodium lunch.
08/22 - 223.8 - Went for a nice long walk yesterday with my youngest. Hit my step goal!
08/23 - 223 - I'm always surprised when the number goes down. I did not meet my step goal yesterday
08/24 - 225.6 - Due to all of the pizza and cheesy bread I ate Friday night. It's funny because my goal for each weekend is to not undo the work I've done during the week. We'll see were things go from her. I'm getting a little frustrated with myself for not meeting my step goals.
08/25 - 223.6 - Flushed a lot of the sodium from Friday out of my system. Yesterday was a more active day as I was at the church picnic and did a lot more moving around. I've been off of my exercise game since I came back from Orlando. I was sick and the fatigue I was battling was my excuse. I've now been back for 2 weeks and should have no excuses. - I hit my step goal yesterday!
08/26 - 222.4 - Yay! Total surprise, but not really. I've been fairly good with meeting my food goals. - Did not meet my step goals yesterday despite all the housework I did.
08/27 - 222.2 - Hit my step target yesterday! My oldest and I went for a 3.5k walk last night. My math was way off yesterday. I won't hit my goal of 8 out of 10 days, but I'm going to push to hit 7 as that is what's possible.
08/28 - forgot to weigh in this morning. I did make my step goal yesterday after doing 1 hour of Zumba.
08/29 - 223 - Ate too much sodium yesterday, but I did hit my step goal by going for a walk with my son. I'm really enjoying the quality time we get to spend together while on these walks. I will try to hit my goal today, but I don't know if I will as I have to take the kids to the salon after work.

08/22 182 (-2.5) I didn’t think I’d lose anything from yesterday since I went off my meal plan. Had a cheat meal as well as a beer at the Dodger game.
08/23 181 (-1.0) Back on track and holding myself accountable.
08/24 182 +1.0 Birthday celebration at work and I went off the meal plan. Managed to stay within my calories but gained 1 pound. I had a late workout and late dinner. Today will be a better day.
08/25 182 +/- 0 Off to a good start, I went to the gym, cleaned the house, ate clean up until dinner. I had King Taco for dinner, after I tracked the 5 tacos I realized I had to much sodium for the day.

REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

08/21 128.8 Starting off in the right direction and below the ending weight from Round 85! Had a whoosh at the end of last round and worried that it would just bounce right back up at the start of this round. Yesterday was the first day of the first workout in the Strong workout program (an updated version of NROLW) so workout regime will be shifting this round. Bought a new scale with BF% etc so will be tracking that with increasing weight training. Interestingly both it and my old scale are in pretty close agreement (128.8 old vs 128.6 new) but higher than the Dr office scale today 127.8 (and at least 1 pound for clothing!) For consistency I am sticking with my scales. NSV: no longer pre-diabetic and LDL cholesterol dropped another 15%, down to 174; HDL-C increased to 101, while triglycerides dropped to 44 with exercise and diet changes! Dr no longer pushing statin! He expects since that it is responsive to current program it will drop further, so will check back in February, when I am hopefully in maintenance!

08/22 127.5 Whoosh! getting back on track with long term trend line so just may recover for August! BMI is now in the 25's and 0.4 lbs away from the big 50! (hopefully this round :-) Met goal for round, but with whooshes and strength training days, I often see an increase the next day, so not counting any chickens until the end of the round!

08/23 126.6 Whoosh number 2 ?!?! will take it while it lasts, but making up the gain from last round! The kids had a sleep over tonight so DH and I planned a nice dinner out (after 2 full days of a dept retreat which culminated with wine/cheese). Likely over calories for the day (gave up tracking carefully after a couple of glasses), but NSV was that I hit the 50 lbs lost mark today!!!! (may get to celebrate this again later in the round given tonight's calories but need to take time to celebrate the wins! Given that the last few days I was under goal for calories, a "zigzag" refeed may be helpful. In any case, will weigh in tomorrow and hit the gym as still have another 16.6 lbs to go!

08/24 128.8 Well typical pattern of big drop(s) and then an increase so back to square one right now for the round. But big overnight gains are usually mostly water/food, so should average out over the round. (Just won't celebrate hitting the 50lb loss mark next time :-). Good work out at gym this morning - step class and then workout 1A from Strong. Will try to do some intervals before heading out to work reception this evening. Will try to be in more control of alcohol/food tonight to not have another bump tomorrow (one cheat day a week ideally), but otherwise it will be back to basics with logging and exercise for the rest of the week!

@HoopsGuy72 I follow it like the stock market. Green is a gain, red is a loss. I have seen others do it the other way around but I can't wrap my head around it any other way. Perhaps I'm following my etrade a bit too much? LOL Perhaps I should just pick two totally different colors & go with that.

08/21 64.1 kg wooohooo! Not sure why the loss but I'm ready for it as I haven't really lost this month. I was happy to maintain while away but I'm even happier to start losing again.
08/22 63.8 kg. Normal bmi!!! Really wasn't expecting another loss. Travel day today so 7/8 hours in a car over a few rough roads. I've packed my lunch so no snacks for me!
08/23 63.8 kg which is fine. Happy to be back home even if it means going back to work soon.

08/25 62.8kg 💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽and I've no idea why. Guessing my month long maintenance had ended in some kind of whoosh. This hits so many goals. Into the next lb decade, lowest adult weight not caused by ill health, 25.2kg {55.5lbs} lost this year, my biggest weekly loss since week 1 {6.4lbs}. Now to keep it off! 😁
08/26 63.5kg and I don't mind the gain as this seems more realistic. Ran this morning for the 1st time since early July.
08/27 63.7kg...I used to always do this so I'm not too worried. Plus I bought UK size 10 trousers yesterday for work! Down from an 18.

08/29 63.7kg went to the gym! 1st time in 20 years. It was tough but I'll go back next week twice a week, running 3x and yoga/stretching on sat with Sunday resting.

08/25 162.2 just back from holidays, I tried to be careful but it’s so easy to get caught up with all the family meals and get togethers! I’m planning a run later today. I’m doing the Couch to 5k Program and this week I'm going to do my "week 3" over again as I haven’t run for a few days and there is hot weather planned this week.
08/26 161.2 (-1.0lbs) Cool ! I hope it continues to go down like that 😊 I went running yesterday and it also went better than I expected. It’s nice to feel like I’m getting back into the routine so quickly. My meals are made for today so I just have to stick to what’s been planned!
08/27 161.2 (-0.0) 10.032 steps. Status quo. Not surprising really, It’s back to work and catching up on things so asides from my steps, which I squeezed in yesterday evening, I didn’t do much. Weather is supposed to be very hot today, I had planned a run but I will see how hot it gets this evening.
08/28 160.2 (-1.0) 13.745 steps, run W3D3. A good loss but then I generally do loose well the day after a run, I wouldn’t be surprised if it went back up a bit tomorrow! Otherwise a good day foodwise and everything is quite easy going. I know next week will be a different story with the back to school madness which always seems to happen beginning of September however well I’m prepared!

Really quite chuffed! Today I’ll be doing less steps but going to try W4D1 run. I think I’m going to take public transport to go a good distance away and “run” home lol 😉 I’m sooooo hoping I can keep this loss for the end of the round but we’ll see how it goes as it seems a bit too good to be tr

08/21: 212. This is to be expected. Big Chinese buffet last night for DSs birthday. I had planned a fast for the rest of the week but I think it might be a better idea to wait and just be consistent with low calories & proper macros for this round
08/22 209.2. There we go, bye bye Chinese buffet! Hopefully the rest of this round goes like yesterday. I am not getting any organized exercise but I was active yesterday.
08/23: 207.8. I just need to remember to trust that my body works & that it will release the weight if I do the work. I am glad I made the decision to not fast this round. This is all just water loss from some not so decisions last week. I feel prepared to continue to make good decisions today.
08/24: 207.8. I am having a good on track week. I wanted chocolate. I wanted a drink, but resisted. I expect today to be more of the same. I have to work, so no yoga, but I am up early so I will go for a sunrise walk. My dog is already up & anxiously waiting as well.
08/25: 209… irritating. I logged my food, did not snack, had no alcohol, got 10 000+ steps… oh well. I need to trust that my body knows what it is doing. Retaining water for some mysterious purpose. I will continue to be consistent.
08/26: 209. Stubborn body… I again got 10000+ steps & was relatively active. Enjoyed a beautiful day, mostly outside, took a nap. I snacked a little & had a gin & tonic. Not a perfect day, but it was a relaxing restorative day. Today it is back to the grind, but I only plan to work the morning as I am NOT missing yoga.
08/27. 209: i am due for a whoosh! My body always holds on to water when I exercise. I ate well, was within my calorie & macro goals, but I took a sunrise walk & did hot yoga. I am anxious to lose weight for a cruise at the end of October. My body obviously is not in tune with my goals.
08/28: 209. Maintenance was definitely not my plan for this round. My clothes are actually feeling looser so something is happening while my body is not releasing this water. TOM is scheduled for today so that might have something to do with the scale not moving my cycles are getting farther apart so there are probably lots of female hormones driving this lack of scale movement
08/29: 209 wow! At least I am consistent. I am donating blood today so if the scale does change I am shopping for a new one!
08/30 209. I have been logging my weight on a spreadsheet for 3 years. I have never weighed the exact same thing for 6 mornings in a row. I ate more yesterday after giving blood on purpose. I decided to eat maintenance calories for the next few days & then I will fast. Hopefully that will shake things up. It looks like a decent loss but I have been popping between 206-212 for the past 2 months. I was successful this round with alcohol on 1 day only, I logged & exercise almost every day. Next round will be better...

- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.

08/21 – 141 – Due to a couple medical issues I’ve just discovered, I’m having to restrict a number of my food choices. Most of them involve any type of fat. Since I also have to increase my water intake, it will be interesting to see how my weight fluctuates.
08/22 – 141.5 – I’m definitely trending lower this week than I have for a while.
08/23 – 140.5 – Good start for the weekend.

08/26 - 140 - I was extra careful this weekend, even with a family picnic, because I was too afraid to eat much fat. I have some medical tests this week to determine my course of action. In the meantime, although I'm happy with my weight right now, it won't hurt me if I lose a few extra pounds.
08/27 – 141 – I had a little extra salt yesterday and I did not drink enough water.

08/25 - 196.4 - back down a bit - already been to the gym today so back on track.
08/26 - 197.4 - UGH - sushi and wine does it every time. Back to the routine now.
08/27 - 197 - not as much of a drop as I hoped but no wine last night and already got my workout done.

This will be the ten days I finally turn things around. The stress is still there but some with answers and others with things taken care off. I don’t want to be this way, but if things were that easy we would all be healthy. I truly debated on just giving up and living the life of an obese person, but I know I am better than this and I can beat this. Round 86 was not successful. I am finding it so hard to say no to everything that’s not the best for me. I am tired, exhausted and just want to be lazy. I don’t know how to make myself snap out of this.

8/21: 296.8 A nice loss to start the round. I’m slowly getting back into my routine and was able to get in some activity yesterday.
8/22: 296.2
8/23: 296.4 I had a late dinner and slept poorly thanks to my continued cold. But I’m on track with calories and this blip will be short lived.
8/24: 298.8 All water weight. I ate closer to maintenance yesterday and it was a high carb day.
8/25: 297.4 Almost back down again. I’m doing a few shifts to my plan to make both more enjoyable and more sustainable.

8/27: 296.2 Back down to the round low. Hopefully I’ll see another drop. Next round I’m considering a diet break. I have not done one yet and with two kid birthdays next week I think it will be a good time.

8/29: 297.8 I ended up starting my break yesterday. I was a bit under my maintenance calories and I didn’t binge on anything. I’m still weighing and tracking my food just eating at maintenance for the next two weeks.
8/30: 298.6 We had McDonald’s for dinner last night and it wasn’t that good. I thought I wanted it, I thought I would enjoy it as a treat during my break, but I was wrong. I also realized that I generally eat far less than I used to, which isn’t a bad thing at all. After dinner we went grocery shopping and I decided not to get any of the items on my treat list. I realized that many of them I wanted out of old habits more than anything else.

I’m still not back to keto. No plans to this weekend, but I’m still slowly getting back to where I was which I like. I only do 2 meals per day, and it seems to work.

So I’m back again. I did have some HWC very late last night instead of just water. I think that could have save me. Will be fasting to late afternoon today. At home for a change (haven’t been home over a weekend for 3 weeks now), so it might actually be doable today. Gonna stick to some well needed fasting, and keto today. All my carb foods are finally gone after the camping.

I was exhausted yesterday. I didn’t drink enough, cooked for the next 2 weeks I believe (meant to only do one week). Was on my feet running to farmer’s market, Safeway, cooking, and cleaning out some stuff from the apartment all day from 10am to I believe 6pm. Didn’t sit once. Ended up in splurging on chocolate in the evening. It’s like I’ve lost anything called discipline. And the weight reflects it. I have a plan for the week. Now I just have to follow through. It hasn’t been my biggest accomplishment this past month. Let’s see what happens.

Well, on of yesterday’s 2.4lbs gone. I wasn’t able to skip dinner, so had some cheese with cold cuts. I managed an 18h fast, and I stopped at 7 instead of 8. It was a struggle at 8 though. Brain hunger set in. I had only had 800cals, but it was all protein, some fat, and 35g of carbs (half of it from vitamin gummies). I really wasn’t hungry as a glass of water removed all my hunger pains. Today I’m aiming at another 18h fast, I have nothing planned for dinner tonight as I’ll be going out with mom and dad for lunch. I need to get back to my ADF as that is the only time I’ve constantly lost weight.

Ok, so almost back to where I was before the weekend? I’m taking it! I finally were able to do the planned fasting. While I didn’t stick fully to keto, I had potato gratin and a couple of fries, I did manage to only have lunch, my vitamins as afternoon snack, and that’s it. Got home very late, so decided not to have dinner. Didn’t sleep very well though, but that was because of temperature issues. :P

Wohoo! Finally towards a downward trend again! Happy scale isn’t reflecting it just yet. It still shows red, but the line is finally pointing down!
During these travels I haven’t even looked at my pacman tracker since I’ve known there’s not reason to. But now… I finally start to see some light. 3 days consecutively downwards. I’ve managed to do at least 18:6. I end dinner before 7. I’m not doing keto, but low carb. I have more chocolate than I should, so have to stop that. Especially since it’s supposed to be my ghost rewards!.

Haha, so much for losing. But we all know losing is an up and down battle. During these past 10 days, I’ve been going up and down, worse than a rollercoaster. I guess I have to be happy, I didn’t have a total gain. No loss, but also no gain.
