08/21 DNW we were away for a couple days at the lake. No internet or scales so I was really winging it in terms of logging. Did dip into some chips and ice cream. Got in loads of exercise though. Family enjoyed a beautiful 6.5 mile hike.

08/23 148.8 feel good going into the weekend. Will be back at the lake for the next couple of days before heading back to work after 7 weeks off. I’ve been committed to my health goals (working out, logging meals, staying under calorie budget ). Going back to work will bring new challenges to these goals but I know what I need to do. I’ll really need to focus on meal planning and prepping and waking up early to get the workouts in. Nobody said this was easy. I’m so grateful to have had the last few weeks to focus on my goals and happy that I’ve seen progress. That is huge motivation to keep keeping on when work starts and life gets busy.

08/26 147.2 today I am celebrating first day back to work accomplishments. I got up early, got my workout in, meal planned, and stayed under budget. It was an out of town meeting and I am happy to say (thanks to the meal planning) that I passed on the morning muffin that I typically get for the commute, passed on the arrival pre-meeting muffin and enjoyed my delicious overnight oats smoothie. Yay me!

8/21 No Scale I'm in St.L this week. Drove down yesterday. I stopped at the gym before the hotel and rode the stationary bike for an hour. I did 13.5 miles. Tomorrow will be two weeks without walking. My leg is definitely better but it still bothers me a little. I'm ready to get back on the trail. The bike is nice enough but I miss being outside and alone. Last night I was the only person on 10 bikes and a dude has to sit right beside me. There were nine other bikes just like mine and 5 or 6 of the other style.
8/22 No Scale I was fine on calories but OH the sodium. I walked over 10K steps yesterday just shopping and not "walking" on the trail. The first time in 2 weeks and my legs were sore and tired. I had really wanted to walk tonight and it looks like the weather might agree. We'll see. Meanwhile, I thought this meme was good for this group. It's how I feel about my weight loss journey.
8/23-8/25 I didn't weigh this weekend. I needed a break. I walked on my favorite trail Friday on the way home. Only two miles but it felt great to be out. Saturday I took the toddler for a walk. I only went a mile but it took us an hour and I carried a 25-pound kid with me for at least a quarter of that mile. The trail I took her on was in the woods, she kept looking around yelling - hello... Hello??? It was hilarious. Yesterday a little more than 3 miles. My leg doesn't feel great. I think I may have to breakdown and go to the doc. I stayed relatively close on calories all three days, though I know sodium was an issue.
8/26 166.2 Ahhhhh That felt great to see this morning. I'm 3 pounds away from a 50-pound loss. I know if I buckled down on I could lose weight faster but I'm afraid of the backlash. A replay of the last time I lost weight - no thank you. I'm going to ride the bike tonight, I think walking 3 of the last 4 days was enough for my leg that hadn't been walked on seriously in two weeks.
8/27 165.7 I ain't mad. TOM started so I was probably just getting rid of water. I'm thrilled, actually. Though I know it will be up tomorrow or the next day. I rode 14 miles on the stationary bike last night. I do like it as long as I can be distracted by something else (tv, music, audiobook).
8/28 165.7 Travel day. No exercise but super happy because BF is with me! After two weeks of not seeing him. I still have to work during the day and he’ll work from the hotel but al least we see each other at night!

8/30 no scale. I went to the gym last night, did over 14 miles in an hour. I was good yesterday but went to a Peruvian restaurant last night. There are challenges posting. I don't think I went over but there is a LOT of guessing. I hope I haven't gained, I would love to be in the 165.X but I will have to wait until tomorrow morning. I had a great couple of days with the BF. Work has been easy and kind of fun even. Happy Friday. Unfortunately, I have to drive home in a storm but to a 3 day weekend!8 -
Joining late. Fell off the wagon and been gaining steadily to my new highest 129 lbs. getting conscious of my habits and focusing closely now.

08/24 -126.6 lbs : stuck to no drinking on Fri night as well as no takeout. Ended up munching junk to curb the cravings. Proud of it though. Need to find good substitute activities for Fri. I like to have an awesome Fri after week, anyhing less is depressing.
08/25 - 126.6 lbs : logged everything I ate on Sat. Cooked special meals but kept it healthy. Declined suggestion to drink with good logic.
08/26 - 128 lbs : resisted suggestions nd urge to drink. Ate junk to compensate. Over calories >.5x. Pick up the pace during the week and be more active
08/27 - 125.4 lbs : kept in calorie limits. Ate healthy. Was more active.
08/28 - 125.4 lbs : ate in calorie limits, and healthy. Mindful snacking and was active. Way to go.
08/29 - 126.6 lbs : Dont know what happened. WFH, ate atmost 100 cals over the goals, but otherwise did very good, was active. Did not expected this jump. Back to square 1.
08/30 - 125.4 lbs : Ate in calorie limits, healthy food choices. Less movement. Gear up for coming long weekend to keep on track
I am proud of sticking to the plan. Might be short on goals but no giving up.

Food -- Focus on healthy plant-based foods with some fish, chicken, & eggs. Avoid flour & added sugar.
Exercise -- Aim for a 4-6 mile walk most days; weights either working in garden/house or at gym.

Okay then. But I resisted dessert at a gathering last night and ate responsibly the rest of the day. Also started painting one of the bathrooms—navy blue walls, pretty gray lower cabinet, white medicine cabinet and trim. One more coat on the gray cabinet, then on to the trim. And laundry room brighten up to commence today as well. Why isn’t housepainting listed on calorie counts? ;-) Anyway, see you in R88!

8/26-171-My 89 year old FIL broke his hip a couple of days ago. We’ve spent lots of time sitting at the hospital. I was tired when I got home last night and made a drink and ate a baked potato and salad, but of course I made my husband a a healthy chefs salad. This morning I will go on my 7 mile walk before I head to the hospital. Have a good week everyone! ☕️😊
8/27-170-Things are getting back to “normal “. I can get a big walk in today and also get many other neglected things done and just stop by the hospital for a visit. My MIL is 15 years younger than my FIL (1st wife 😊) and she takes great care of him. My FIL is on the mend and it will just take time. It’s only Tuesday!!!

08/21- 172.4 Today’s drop is probably just water weight. I played a lot of tennis yesterday in humid conditions so not getting too excited about the numbers yet.
08/22- 173.3 Just as I expected. Kept calories low but I figured the weight would go back up a little once I was properly hydrated. No planned activity yesterday or for the next few days. May need to get on the treadmill (which I hate!!!)

08/21: 311.9 lbs (+0.4) … small uptick. Carby dinner last night (pizza) was probably a major factor in this. Not concerned about it at all.

08/23: 311.9 lbs (-0.1) … been holding steady for a few days now.
08/24: 310.8 lbs (-1.1) … nice. Very close to my previous low.
08/25: 308.5 lbs (-2.3) … wow. Eating closer to my budget but walked around all day on Saturday, took kiddo to the zoo.
08/26: 307.8 lbs (-0.7) … !!! I was almost certain the scale was going to show an uptick this morning. I ate a fairly large sized dinner pretty late. Repeated Couch to 5k Week 2 Day 3 this morning and it went really well. No pain and the intervals were much easier than my last run. I think I’m ready to move on. Great way to start off the week!
08/27: 309.2 lbs (+1.4) … water weight fluctuations. No other explanation, really… as yesterday was pretty ideal for me. Just under 1800 calories in, burned a good deal of them between a morning run and 10,000 steps throughout the day. It’ll pass… and this weight is still under my goal for this round.
08/28: 307.2 lbs (-2.0) … new low weight. Between that and a very positive doctor appointment this morning, I’m pretty happy. Took a really nice (and really tiring) 12 mile bike ride last night, but today will be a rest day.
08/29: 310.5 lbs (+3.3) … oof. A larger, carb-laden, salty dinner around 9pm last night was a huge mistake, ha.
08/30: 309.7 lbs (-0.8) … I’ll take it. I’m guessing that my low on Wedsnesday was a bit of a fluke and that I’m not quite there yet. I almost made my goal this round despite the uptick here at the end. Also completed Couch to 5k Week 3 Day 1 this morning. I was nervous about the longer running intervals, but the run went really well and I’m feeling good.

08/21 138.4, difficult boxing class yesterday but made it through. Love that there are classes I can finish now that I would have been struggling with before. Happy hour after work today so will try to bank some calories for that.
08/22 138.4, ended up eating dinner really late (9:45pm) so happy to see this number. Back to normal today with all meals prepped at home. Hoping to combat any lingering weight gain from yesterday.
08/23 138, back to my lowest weight this weight loss journey and matches a five year low. 65.7% of the way to my goal so hoping to see 2/3rds by the end of the month. Going to food truck meetup tonight so weight might be up a bit tomorrow for sodium, but will keep my calories in check.
08/24 138, ate well yesterday, but went way over today. I had a milkshake and had no idea how many calories are in them! Feel terrible both physically (body is not very used to that food anymore) and about stalling this week’s progress for a while. Tomorrow is another day and keep learning that some foods are deceptively high calories.
08/25 138.9, slight blip, but will hopefully will be going back down as we end the round

08/27 138, took a barre class yesterday and will do elliptical today. I want to work up to being able to do 4-5 of those classes a week, but still get pretty sore so can’t work out the same muscle groups 2 days in a row.
08/28 137.7, leftovers and a spin class with a friend should call for a good diet day. I’m optimistic will end the round in a loss because of the end date being a weekday vs weekend
08/29 137.7, great workout day yesterday but ended up eating at 9pm so my meal hours were all out of sorts. Can’t believe this round is already done tomorrow!
08/30 137.6, even if I didn’t make my goal, I tried my hardest this round and that’s enough. Officially at 35 lbs lost since I started this journey in December.

08/21 128.8 Starting off in the right direction and below the ending weight from Round 85! Had a whoosh at the end of last round and worried that it would just bounce right back up at the start of this round. Yesterday was the first day of the first workout in the Strong workout program (an updated version of NROLW) so workout regime will be shifting this round. Bought a new scale with BF% etc so will be tracking that with increasing weight training. Interestingly both it and my old scale are in pretty close agreement (128.8 old vs 128.6 new) but higher than the Dr office scale today 127.8 (and at least 1 pound for clothing!) For consistency I am sticking with my scales. NSV: no longer pre-diabetic and LDL cholesterol dropped another 15%, down to 174; HDL-C increased to 101, while triglycerides dropped to 44 with exercise and diet changes! Dr no longer pushing statin! He expects since that it is responsive to current program it will drop further, so will check back in February, when I am hopefully in maintenance!

08/23 126.6 Whoosh number 2 ?!?! will take it while it lasts, but making up the gain from last round! The kids had a sleep over tonight so DH and I planned a nice dinner out (after 2 full days of a dept retreat which culminated with wine/cheese). Likely over calories for the day (gave up tracking carefully after a couple of glasses), but NSV was that I hit the 50 lbs lost mark today!!!! (may get to celebrate this again later in the round given tonight's calories but need to take time to celebrate the wins! 08/24 128.8 Well typical pattern of big drop(s) and then an increase so back to square one right now for the round. But big overnight gains are usually mostly water/food, so should average out over the round. (Just won't celebrate hitting the 50lb loss mark next time :-). Good work out at gym this morning - step class and then workout 1A from Strong. Will try to do some intervals before heading out to work reception this evening. Will try to be in more control of alcohol/food tonight to not have another bump tomorrow (one cheat day a week ideally), but otherwise it will be back to basics with logging and exercise for the rest of the week!

Calories were good for today as was exercise, but did have weight training which sometimes leads to weight gain (muscle/water)
08/30 124.8 Whoosh! Had to measure that twice. Twice on two different scales each. Perfect agreement. While it is my STG of being below my pregnancy weight from 13 years ago (last seen also in 2010) I really hate to leave a round on such a whoosh (1.6 pounds in one day) as I just know this is going to bounce back up tomorrow at the start of a new round and I get to work part of the round just getting back to where I was - LOL. Lots of cardio yesterday + weight training and decent macros so part could be real, but probably a good component is water loss with the exercise burn %body water is normal based on scale if that is at all accurate). Have recovered from the previous round (travel gain) and averaging over the 20 days I am back on trend line.

08/21 - 206!! Yay! Starting this round out with a drop. Didn't sleep very much and have a bad migraine today, will probably not exercise but I'll at least take the dog for a walk. Sticking to my macro/calorie goals with my meal plan and hoping to feel better tomorrow
08/22 - 206.3! No clue what made it go up a bit but I'm starting to learn my weight fluctuates all the time so I'm trying to focus on the trend which is definitely going down. My TOM is probably not helping anything here either. Stuck to calories/macros, didn't exercise very much just walking
08/23 - 204.4!! Holy cow, what a drop! Doubt I'll stay this low through the rest of the week but it makes me feel good to see a 4 on the scale 🤩 Did a really intense workout today and am sticking to cals/macros so hopefully I continue to make progress
08/24 - 204.4 again! Wahoo! I was sure yesterday's weigh-in was a fluke but I didn't fluctuate at all overnight. I'm sure I'll fluctuate again later but at least this means that 4 wasnt a total fluke. Will try to kayak later today and sticking well to my food goals today. My FH is having a boys weekend at our house this weekend and their wives cancelled our girls weekend at the last minute so I'm going to try to keep myself busy with hikes and kayaks and chores so I'm not awkwardly in the way of their boy-time. Hopefully that means extra exercise and less food temptations than I'd planned for this weekend
08/25 - 203.6! Wow, can't believe it! Another drop 🤩 so happy. Had a really frustrating day yesterday, major car troubles, then waiting at mechanic for it to be fixed, then leaving realizing it wasnt fixed, going back, waiting again, leaving again, realizing again, going back again... Didn't get much exercise then but I also didnt have time to eat much so I guess that's why there's a drop. Hopefully will have time to kayak or do something fun today. On track to stick to calorie goals for the day so far.
08/26 - 204.4 and back up again! The ways of the fluctuating weight, I guess, but still on a downward trend so I'm happy. Ended up having even more car troubles and getting a flat tire, so spent most of the day fixing that Trying to get some work done today and focusing on sticking to my calorie goals and finding some time to exercise today.
08/27 - 204.8 up again! No clue why, hopefully just weight fluctuations. My weight loss progress chart is just a series of zig zags at this point 😋 going to the gym today to get a lot of cardio in and sticking to my calories so I can hopefully get that zig to zag its way back down
08/28 - 204.8! Ugh... Still up. I wish I could understand why I fluctuate so much for seemingly no reason. Moving forward... Good gym workout and planning to stay on track with calories today. Hoping to see a drop in the scale soon.

08/23 - 194.8 (+1.6) this one I'm surprised with. I did 17000 steps yesterday and a short workout and my fitbit said I burned about 3000 calories but only ate 1500. I had a shwarma salad for dinner from a restaurant. Maybe it's really high in sodium? Not worried - just surprised.

08/26 - 222.4 - Yay! Total surprise, but not really. I've been fairly good with meeting my food goals. - Did not meet my step goals yesterday despite all the housework I did.
08/27 - 222.2 - Hit my step target yesterday! My oldest and I went for a 3.5k walk last night. My math was way off yesterday. I won't hit my goal of 8 out of 10 days, but I'm going to push to hit 7 as that is what's possible.

However, I will be flushing & trying hard today to make some sort of difference. Yesterday’s stats: 1280 Calories In / 3047 Calories Out. 46 Net Carbs . 19,224 Total Steps & 8.13 Total Miles. 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours & I slept 6 hours & 4 minutes which was wonderful! I rigorously cleaned the tourist cabins for 162 minutes & I took a nice moderately paced walk for 70 minutes. Total extra calorie burn was 1159 which helped me reach over 3000 for the day. 08/29 …..195.4 LOSS ….. Dang! I was hoping for a bit more of a drop since we are so close to the end of the round. However, we did enjoy a steak bbq yesterday with my brother & my neighbor (walking partner). I kept it reigned in but did have some potatoes. I was under calories with my exercise accounted for, and at the high end of my carb allowance. Yesterday’s stats: 1527 Calories In / 2706 Calories Out. 45 Net Carbs. 13,481 Total Steps & 5.7 Total Miles. 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 4 hours & 50 minutes. I did not get in my whole walk yesterday due to work & BBQ prep, but I did manage a 38 minute walk at 2.0 mph leisure pace. I also did leisure cleaning in my own home (not the cabins) for about 49 minutes. Total extra calorie burn just 383. Slightly over on what I would normally eat for cals & carbs, slightly under what I would normally do for extra exercise & movement, well……now that explains the lack of loss I’d hoped for. I’m happy to have a least kept it under control. I’ll be extra restrictive today on my last possible day of the round to make a splash!
08/30 …..193.6 LOSS ….. Yay Yay!!! Just a blink & a drizzle under 2 pound loss this round. For that I am so incredibly grateful. I’ve spent the entire round doing the yo-yo dance. I went way under calorie & carb yesterday (MFP would not close out my logging) to achieve this, but I’m there and am going to try to hang onto it & keep reducing those pesky numbers on the scale. Yesterday’s stats: 843 Calories In / 2806 Calories Out. 11 Net Carbs. 17,092 Total Steps & 7.23 Total Miles. 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 3 hours & 8 minutes. I woke up refreshed (surprisingly!) I walked at a moderate pace for 68 minutes & I did yard work & general maintenance around the property (painting etc) for 116 minutes. Nice round everyone!

08/27 - 220.0 Tuesday - Back on track! Low-carb eating yesterday helped that weekend water weight disappear.
08/28 - 219.6 Wednesday - Feeling good about my progress. I've now met my goal for this challenge round but I'd like to get ahead of the game before the weekend.

08/21: 137.4 lbs - haven't worked out in a few days (self imposed hiatus to heal my shoulder/elbow) and had a salty late night snack last night, not a good choice. Tonight will be better - my late night snacking buddy will be out of town .
08/22: 136.0 lbs - hmmm, barely ate yesterday so this will probably go back up but pretty cool to see this number. I did work out just a little last night but am back to taking time off for a couple more days. Hoping my neck/shoulder/elbow is all better before my tournament this Sunday. No LNS yesterday.

08/22 182 (-2.5) I didn’t think I’d lose anything from yesterday since I went off my meal plan. Had a cheat meal as well as a beer at the Dodger game.

Female - 66, height 5’ Things getting back to a more even keel although still doing a lot of slow eating while my mouth adjusts. Goals this round – one good snack in the evening before 9:30 and nothing else. Ab exercise each day. Try to fit in a short walk a few times a week and doing stairs 5 times a day. (I broke first my left, then my right ankles a few years ago and am back to normal except going down stairs where I tend to hang onto the railing). Log on MFP for the whole day – I tend to get about ½ way through and then conveniently “forget” for the rest of the day and think “it was pretty good anyways.”

08/21 201.2 (-.4) had a late weigh In today. Got up and left the house early. This weigh in was after breakfast and lunch. So not too bad of results. Well see what tomorrow brings.
08/22 199.6 (-1.6) well this game as a shock to me. Although I felt I did pretty good with my calories. I wasn’t amazing. And I even went to the dodger game had a few drinks. I’m happy with the result. Now as long as I can keep this trend we’ll be great!

08/23 -210.3 - Oh HELL NAW!! Lol well, I did have subway yesterday and went over on my sodium. Not a good way to start my Friday but I still made my salad for lunch. I've been weighing my food lately so I know it's not a true gain.
08/24 - 208.6 - Woohoooo! Buuut I must confess! I had a really crappy morning and ended up binge eating some chocolate chips. I'm trying really hard to separate my emotions from eating. I'm going to do what I can to salvage today but I have a feeling that the almost 1000 calories I consumed in chocolate and milk will reflect in tomorrow's weight. Oh well! It's a step forward regardless. At least I'm logging it and owning up to it instead of pretending it didnt happen!

8/21: 225.6 (-0.6)/19.1 (-0.1). There was a lunch celebration/going away party at work yesterday. I was very mindful about what I ate, and particularly how much. I also skipped dessert completely. Dinner was not the healthiest thing I've ever had, but I chose carefully in order to stay within calories. Today was a victory in that this was a situation in the past in which I may have very easily been derailed. I'm going to try again tonight to hit the gym. I need to check in with my wife before she leaves work to confirm that she is going to make it home on time; otherwise I'll go by myself.
8/22: 225.8 (+0.2)/19.1 (0.0). Food quantity has been pretty good, but I could do better on food quality. And exercise has GOT to make its way back into my life at some point as well. I think basketball is not coming back for another two weeks (first day will likely be 9/7/2019).
8/23: 227.0 (+1.2)/19.3 (+0.2). Okay, yesterday was pretty bad. There was an all-day meeting at the office, celebratory drinks after said meeting, and my mother's 79th birthday yesterday (Mexican dinner out, cake after). I did my best to make healthy choices, but I'm pretty sure I was significantly over in calories. I'm going to make today a good day, and I'm going to focus on having a HEALTHY CHOICE weekend (planning what I'm going to eat in advance, ESPECIALLY if/when I'm going to be eating out). It's looking more and more like I will not be seeing the basketball court tomorrow. I'm going to commit to hitting the gym at least once this weekend (today, Saturday, or Sunday).

8/26: 229.0 (+2.0)/19.5 (+0.3). I had an emotional, sucky weekend, and it took a bit of energy to login today to get back on track and remain accountable. Well, here I am. I'm adjusting my goal, and I'll be ecstatic if I'm able to get back to my starting weight for the round (though any progress in the downward direction would be nice at this point).
8/27: 228.6 (-0.4)/19.4 (-0.1). At this point I'm just focusing on posting here every day to be accountable. Most days (other than the weekend) I'm doing relatively well with food, but exercise has been difficult to come by. It kind of feels like I'm half-@$$ing it, but if I'm being kind to myself I would recognize that I have a lot going on right now, and my motivation is obviously affected. I'll choose "being kind to myself" for now.
8/28: 227.8 (-0.8)/19.3 (-0.1). I mostly did okay yesterday. I had a little more than I wanted to for dinner, but not too much. I'm happy to have what feels like a little bit of progress the past couple of days.

I have a bunch of crap going on in my life, so I'm going to have to try really hard to recognize my progress and notice any success(es) I might have. I've been consistently eating under maintenance for the past three days, and I have generally been avoiding temptation (sticking with healthy-ish snacks). Basketball officially starts 9/7/19; it's been too long, and life is definitely not as fun without it.

8/21 - 157.5 - the catch up from the carb-o-licious Monday. Made it to the pool and could actually get in finally! I’m 6 weeks post-op and my restrictions are lifted. T-minus 2 weeks until I return to work!
8/22 - 156.5 - the turn around in eating makes all the difference. And sticking to it. I was “lazy” yesterday. Swam, ran errands, watched Supernatural on Netflix, did very little cleaning, but I made sure to watch my food and drink my water. I’m hooked on “pork rind chips” for a crunchy snack lately. I can season them with whatever sounds good at the time and crunch away. Today is gym day and some serious cleaning.

8/21:211.2 There are 3 snacks that I love to eat and that I can eat without problems from my food sensitivities. Usually I eat 2 or 3 of these snacks every evening even if I'm not hungry. So yesterday I told my husband that I would only allow myself one snack each evening and that he could call me out if I ate more than one. So, last night I had one snack and it was interesting as I really became more aware of whether I was truly hungry or not or whether it was just boredom that has me snacking in the evening. This morning I also didn't feel as bloated. Run tonight.

Digestive system is definitely feeling less inflamed since I have gotten back to my normal eating and it's showing up on the scales. Also, not eating all those extra snacks just because they are there is also helping.
8/30: 209.4 More of the water weight from my vacation. While it's nice to see the scale go down it's been annoying to have to get up in the middle of the night for the past 5 nights to use the bathroom. Went to the gym today.

I didn't get to do my long run this weekend, temperatures have gone up and I decided to socialise instead and enjoy the weather, which may be the last of summer, including a swim in the sea, which was awesome.

Ok, 0.5 to go til goal weight. But I now see that I also wanted to reach 71.0 end of Aug. That's not realistic now, but my round goal of 71.6 is,so I'll work towards that.
I had a stressful day, slipped up a little, but reigned it back in.. almost... Apart from an ice cream, which was within cals.
No real exercise as I was too tired in the morning, this little heat wave is exhausting.

Had an exhausting day at work, after a lovely run this morning, so had to have some wine and chocolate in the eve, but all within cals again 👍

Alright, this is nice, but i might have undone the small progress today as I had a very sugar fuelled day, working from home. Went for a relaxing run in the evening, before DH came back and we shared a pizza. 200 over cals, which isn't the problem, but I ate over 1000 cals in snacks, oops
