I loved these as a kid. Suckers that you could play music with! Not sure why they bought them for us. :D

Grandma used to make biscuits and chocolate gravy for us as kids. I know it sounds gross, but it's so good. There's no meat in the chocolate gravy. It's like a less sweet, thicker pudding.

I had one. Made the two cakes it came with and never used it again.

I always wanted one too...I never got it for my birthday...but ended up seeing it at our school's 'market fair' and got it for a steal! I had to (with my mom's help) make up our own recipes (although I wanted my mom to purchase the 'real' packaged ones...again, she never did lol!) Best 'light bulb' I ever bought as a kid!

We used to have these on a regular basis, for my siblings and I to have for lunch or a snack. My mother did the majority of all of the cooking, but we used to prepare these for ourselves when we were young. They came in a cloth bag and we would boil them in water and put hot sauce on them when they were ready:

Notice the tamales were 4 for $1.00...I'm pretty sure this was a package of 12, because tamales (and food in general) was super cheaper than it is now (of course people made less too).

We used to also put peppermint sticks in our pickles too:

But you don't just cut up hot dogs in canned beans and serve it....
    You use all-beef kosher dogs.
You add onion soup mix, mustard, and chopped onions to the beans.
Bake it in the oven until the top is brown with crispy edges.
    Mmmmm.....
