    Day 1 - 3/28/2020 - 254.4 lbs
    Day 2 - 3/29/2020 - 251.0 lbs
    Day 3 - 3/30/2020 - 251.0 lbs
    Day 4 - 3/31/2020 - 249.4 lbs
    Day 5 - 4/1/2020 - 249.4 lbs
    Day 6 - 4/2/2020 - 249.6 lbs
    Day 7 - 4/3/2020 - 247.6 lbs
    Day 8 - 4/4/2020 - 245.8 lbs

Yesterday was a big change in diet. Lots more protein. Had a large serving of chicken, broccoli, onions, tomatoes and spinach over rice, a medium sized hamburger on a bun with no cheese or condiments, just veggies, a bowl of cheerios and 1 regular potato as well as 1 sweet potato. Still not meeting my protein quotas, but I can only afford so much right now. Budget is tight. Going to buy some more chicken today hopefully and some tuna and eggs. I have lots of cans with protein in them but the sodium content is so high. It's a learning experience.

@dawnbgethealthy My meals & snacks are already rather close together. That is because I try to practice Intermittent Fasting and do so about 95% or more of the time. Interestingly enough, my sugar never drops during my IF during the day (it should drop when I don't eat). It is always about 2-3 hours before bed and within an hour or two of my last meal or snack. I honestly think it has a lot to do with the exercise. Exercise and walking are EXACTLY how you lower your sugar when it's too high. If you go to the hospital with a huge sugar spike, they start walking you to bring it down. I think I just have to readjust to lower cals & carbs again, readjust to regular walking & exercise and mainly, get my WEIGHT BACK DOWN. It's seriously a tightrope. When it happens too often, I take away one of my diabetes pills and that usually levels it off. When it starts getting too high, I put the pill back on. I know that is manipulating it, but it's impossible to do permanent changes (with the doctor) until we see a regular pattern. This morning my glucose was 328 and was lit up in bright red as an emergency. (I did have a sugary snack last night). I may be getting high also from taking some medication away. So for the next few days I will add it back in and see what happens. I really just need to stick to an eating routine so I can get the REAL PICTURE. I swear I am trying. When I doing good, I'm actually doing GREAT. But when I suck........ ugggg

We will get you back under 200 soon! You have already lost so much. (Me too)
Sometimes we need to just change it up?
Small amounts eaten often do not equal IF in any way shape or form. Is your doctor okay with you doing IF considering your diabetes? One of our women on here went off of IF and began eating breakfast and small meals/healthy snacks throughout the day and finally lost the weight. Everybody is different of course.
It makes sense that your blood sugar spikes when you eat. Keeping the levels even all day might prevent spikes?
I was borderline after sent for testing by my doctor and losing weight was my only option other than going on meds. I am getting closer to the 40 pound loss mark, but it is really hard!
Glad that you are getting out for walks. If you stop each hour and dance to one 3 minute song (or youtube short exercise video) you would rack up an extra 300+ calorie burn over 10 hours.
I am cheering you on from over here : - )

@dawnbgethealthy I appreciate each & every idea that you share. I've found everyone on MFP to be so helpful and generous. This week I am trying some new things in my diet for sure. But it is unclear how much it is helping when I self-sabotage to cave in to cravings at night! I've got to get it together honestly so I can get a clearer picture of what is helping with the weight loss and not hurting the glucose! I know it's my own fault.

You have no idea how much I truly appreciate your support and your ideas. Sharing your experiences with me means so much! Today I will do very very good again. I've been planning my meals and snacks pretty good, but I've got to stick to the plan and not give in to the foods & snacks that are here for my son. I'm going to try super-de-dooper hard tonight. I think I can do this!

I do get up from any office work every hour in order to get in my steps. I know that, overall, it increases the amount of calories burned. I don't count it as exercise, or record it as such unless it is 10 minutes or more (the same way my fitbit does), but movement is movement and I know it helps. I will have a lot of sitting in the coming week due to sales tax packages, state taxes and federal taxes. All very large packages I prepare for my accountant. However, I still think I can do better in the exercise department. I must get more spurts of steady movement in (10 minutes or more). As you probably know, dancing is something I love and I have gotten a bit away from it. I will start back today! Thanks for the encouragement. And thanks for the reminder that even small steps add up to a lot of progress in my journey! Stay safe!

Day 30 – 03/30 ..….203.5…… No change again. I know why. I didn’t quite work hard enough for it.
Day 31 – 03/31 ..….203.5…… Wow. No change again. Feeling pretty stuck. I got a lot more movement (steps) in yesterday, the diet still left room for improvement. My plan for today: I have already pre-logged my food for the entire day (which I never do) so I will try to use it as a blueprint and follow it to the tee. I must also try to keep my steps up!

Weight Loss in March……………….. 3.7 lbs GAINED
Total Accumulated Weight Loss…..3.7 lbs Gained. More and better changes coming!!!

    Day 32 – 04/01…….203.2…… 0.3 down. It’s a start to new & better things!
Day 33 – 04/02 …...203.2…… I am so happy not to see a gain. I got in a 70 minute walk along my property yesterday and kept my diet exactly on point until the massive sugar drop and deep hunger (meant to make you eat and save you from Diabetic coma or shock) kicked in. I try to handle it well, but when you are in the middle of drowning, your natural human survival instinct is to get your head above the water. Shoveling in food is flailing and getting your head above the water and saving yourself quickly before you drown. That is the best way I can describe the feeling and the response. Sadly, if it happens again tonight, my body will react the same. Perhaps if someone else were here with me to help pull me up out of the water safely, but there is not. Only my Autistic son who panics. I know that my body is trying to readjust to my new attempts at weight loss with the lower calorie counts. I got through this when I first started my journey in 2018 and I will get through it again. I just have to give my body time for the adjustments, and as my WEIGHT COMES OFF, it all improves, even the glucose levels. Walking the tight rope here.
Day 34 – 04/03 …...203.1…… a touch better but it should have been Much Better.
Day 35 – 04/04 …...203.1…… A so-so day yesterday. Night time is tough for cravings! Glucose very high again this morning at 298 and in the red danger zone on my machine. I’ve got to stop the madness!

I know what you mean when looking at the content of things once we put them into the tracker. My issue isn't really sodium, it is fat, which always seems to end up to be 1/2 of my pie chart. It seems that most proteins that I try to get have more grams of fat than of protein.
I have also been trying to get more fibre because the numbers were so low, but am finding that very difficult to get into my diet.
This sure is a learning experience! You are doing great!

Oh, I didn't know that you liked to dance!
That is primarily what I do for my workouts. Zumba burns lots more calories than regular aerobics for some reason.
I love Fitness Marshall. The dances seems pretty hard or complicated at first, but I find after 5 times of doing the same song (not all in one day) that I pick up the moves. I started doing it last April when I found him on Youtube. It is pop songs that I was mostly unfamiliar with at first. I like it better than the typical Zumba music, and it is giving me an education on modern pop music. I definitely have my favourites, and the other day made myself a kind of set list. Sometimes when I am pressed for time, I will do just one song here and there to ramp up my metabolism or chase away the blues, or just to step away from working on my computer for 3 minutes.
I would be happy to give you links to a few of my fave dances if you are interested.

I don't think that only you and I gained weight in March, I think that it was a tough month for most people. I feel more optimistic about April for weight loss for us both : - )

@dawnbgethealthy Yes I would love to see the links. I've never tried Zumba and I've never heard of Fitness Marshall.

I am also feeling good about April. Today is day 3 of my glucose being high (in the danger zone) with the morning check. I am trying new things which is helping my appetite and easing the scale down, but my glucose is sky high! I'm going to tweak my diet plan today to keep the calories low, the choices high, but the carbs down a bit more. I have no idea what will be on the menu yet, but I am going to work on it. Today I clean guest cabins and motel rooms so I will get in plenty of walking and movement. I am excited about that! I will also get to get outside. Lots of inside business right now with the shut-in. It is deceiving when I look outside. Very sunny, but very cold right now. However, I still look forward to getting outside. We've had several days of cold rain this week.

Thanks for sharing your info. I would love to give it a try.

Thanks! You're doing great too, let's just keep at it and keep learning. I found low sodium kidney beans which are loaded with fiber and protein with no fat and only a bit of sodium which I'll probably try to make a staple of my diet. I just looked it up and found some pretty good options here.

    https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/22-high-fiber-foods#section22

I think what I'll do is get some chia seeds and add them to my cereal or my oatmeal for breakfast for a fiber boost.

Okay Donna, here is a little list.

The girl on the right, Alison, is in lots of his videos, you will see in this one that she is quite heavy, and a year later considerably smaller.
This one is fun, Usher, "Yeah". I always find it easier to follow one of the other dancers than to follow him.
    https://youtube.com/watch?v=dA2kPPlXDgc

I had never heard of this song by Mabel, but it is a really fun dance:
    https://youtube.com/watch?v=utk-mMYEBeY

I had heard of Lizzo (she won a bunch of grammys) but hadn't heard any of her music. I will put a couple of them here:
This one has a very tricky part where it goes "hair back, check my nails" and I still don't have that move down, but I will get it eventually. It is called "Good as Hell"
    https://youtube.com/watch?v=zxbN_r3Xx-w

This other Lizzo is called "Phone"
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tzYDXHkap_k

    Justin Beiber, "yummy"
    https://youtube.com/watch?v=Fial2WIIUnc

This one is Billie Eilish (another new star who won 7 grammys this year, but I wasn't familiar.
This dance is a bit weird, but fun.
    https://youtube.com/watch?v=0Qoaz3I0zh0

This is a Dolly Parton song that is new called "Faith"
    https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=fitness+marshall+dolly+parton

I generally just put a stopwatch on when I do a song or many songs. Log it in MFP as Zumba.
These burn more calories than you notice because 1. It is fun. 2. It is challenging mentally to learn and do the moves and you don't notice how much of a workout you are getting. 3. You use the entire body without realizing.

Let me know if you try any. I get Youtube through my blu-ray player on my big TV. Sometimes I just do it off of my phone if I am only going to do a song or 2, or my laptop. I learned how to "cast" with my phone to a Smart TV a few months ago and did that while visiting my best friend in Idaho to get my workout in using her Smart TV. Of course I can't cross the border anymore.

I actually did 55 minutes of songs today because I had an off day yesterday and consumed too many calories so I wanted to try to make up for it. I burned 565 calories.

    I hope that I inserted the links right : - )

Day 36 – 04/05 …...202.8…… A nice drop on the scale this morning. I stuck to my plan yesterday and did not have any severe cravings or failures last night. It was a perfect day overall and it all paid off. Glucose very high again this morning so I will have to work on that today. Otherwise, I’m very very happy today.
Day 37 – 04 /06 .….202.8…… I am down 1.0 lb in the last 10 days which is the first real loss since the end of October 2019. Sugar still running high with is a roadblock. Tweaking….Tweaking…. Lots of cabin cleaning yesterday. I hope to stay active today if possible, but I really do need to work some more on my tax packages.

Day 38 – 04/07 ..….203.6…… I failed during movie night last night. It was not epic, but it was away from plan. I am just glad that I got in some extra movement/mileage yesterday or it would have been worse. I’m working on possible water retention today by drinking lots of water. Rainy and cold here today. More tax work to be done.

I like to weigh every day to keep me accountable - knowing that I will be weighing in the morning sometimes stops me from continuing to eat at night : - )
My name is Dawn. 59 year old female.
I live in South East British Columbia Canada
MFP start date October 29.18 - SW 191
    Ultimate goal weight - 112 - 115

    February result: Loss 3.7

Total loss over 100 days: 3.7 pounds

Day 32 04.01.20 - 155.4 - I think that March was hard for everyone. Onward to April.
Day 33 04.02.20 - 154.8 - Seeing a drop in the scale motivates me more than anything else at all. Almost back to end of February weight. That 0.4 is my next goal.
Day 34 Friday 04.03.20 - 155.4 - No sleep last night. I weighed myself and was up 3 pounds, so went back to bed for some snoozes listening to the bedside radio. Really on track, so hoping to see a drop tomorrow.

    Hi Donna:
Glad to hear that you got some dancing in : - )
I have been getting out for a walk on the trails almost everyday (not when it is raining sideways like one week ago). Soon it will be too hot to walk at 4:30 or 5:00 in the afternoon, so I am taking advantage of walking with a friend who gets off of work at 4:30 or 5:00 for an extra added little walk. There is still snow here on some trails.
As for the dancing, I just love how it loosens up the entire body, and hours later when you go to bend for something it is easier and you can feel the muscles working.
It is also so good for the emotional health, you have to concentrate so you stop thinking of other things when you are dancing, it supplies endorphins, and you feel like you are doing something just for you.
    :)

    Day 39 – Wednesday 04.08 - 155.5 - had hoped for more, I will stay at it.
Day 40 – Thursday 04.09 - 155.2 - Really need to get down to the end of the last 100 days...and beyond. I do have more time for working out now, and have begun some garden clean-up.

I like to weigh every day to keep me accountable - knowing that I will be weighing in the morning sometimes stops me from continuing to eat at night : - )

Day 32 04.01.20 - 155.4 - I think that March was hard for everyone. Onward to April.

Total Accumulated Weight Loss…..3.7 lbs Gained. More and better changes coming!!!

    Day 34 – 04/03 …...203.1……
    Day 35 – 04/04 …...203.1……
Day 39 – 04/08 …...203.5…… I did a dance session yesterday for 23 minutes which I counted on MFP. I also threw in a couple of extra songs here and there throughout the day just to pump up my overall calorie burn. A very sunny day here today. Still a bit cold but I am hoping it will still warm up a bit more.
Day 40 – 04/09 ..….203.9…… A mini-binge last night so I am angry, frustrated and ashamed today. However, I tried the Fitness Marshall Zumba last night and I really liked it. I’m going to ask my son if there is a way to set up a youtube playlist so I can choose my favorites and let them play back-to-back for specific sessions. Thanks Dawn for sharing!
Day 41 – 04/10 …….203.2…… I had a glucose drop last night that felt like it was getting somewhat severe but was coming on slowly. I nipped it in the bud without any major incident or detriment to my diet. Luckily I still had calories left for the day when it came on. A better scale today due to diligence yesterday.

    Still water fasting?
You have dropped like 20 pounds in 14 days. Argh, that would take me 2 years to drop 20 pounds!
I know that people say that you will gain it back quickly if you drop it that fast, but I don't know if I believe that. I guess that you will be the guinea pig : - )

    @deepwoodslady
Yeah, I had one of those days today too. All of this diligence to lose only 1 pound per month makes me lose my momentum sometimes. Since I have been out of work due to Covid-19 I have upped my workouts to the point of having 1,000 calories left over at the end of each day, yet still don't lose weight, or actually gain weight, which led to my over-indulging today. I seem to only be motivated when the scale moves down, when it goes up I almost give up.
    I must get re-motivated somehow.

    What is your goal weight?
    Still water fasting?
You have dropped like 20 pounds in 14 days. Argh, that would take me 2 years to drop 20 pounds!
I know that people say that you will gain it back quickly if you drop it that fast, but I don't know if I believe that. I guess that you will be the guinea pig : - )

My goal weight I'm not entirely sure tbh. Right now I'm focusing on trying to manage chronic pain as well as trying to save my wallet due to the pandemic. I also wanted to test my willpower with the fast. I think I've proved my willpower at this point, now I'm just interested in the continued experience of knowing what it feels like to go without food for over a week and the effects of long term fasting on my body. I'm 5 days into my water fast ATM. I've only just now felt anything similar to hunger for the first time, and it's not like a craving, it's more like my stomach just feels literally empty. My loose skin has tightened up dramatically in just the last week on certain areas, I've lost a lot of fat on my body and I feel great clarity, peace and productivity. I've got more time to do important or creative things.

I always drop weight quick no matter what if I do fasting, keto, OMAD or anything related to that. If I do regular dieting I think 1-2 lbs a week is more realistic. I think every single person is different. What works miracles for one person might hurt someone else. I don't think relying on fasting alone for weight loss is the most sustainable method for a healthy life style, but doing a 24 hr fast now and then, or even a 48 hr fast I could see being beneficial for most people. Taking a step back from food allows you to appreciate more what you're putting into your body, and the effects it has on your mental well being.

I think intermittent fasting mixed into a regular diet is probably ideal for me. No matter what though I think it's important to listen to your body on these things, if there are negative side effects then it's probably not a good idea. I have no negative side effects yet aside from a single cup of my morning coffee hitting me like a freight train 24 hr energy and some problems falling asleep due to my productive mindset.

As far as gaining it back quickly, I'm unsure if that's true or not. I'm leaning towards no. We will see when I end it I suppose.
