    Okay @deepwoodslady lets have a better month : - )

BTW, just heard that face masks are most dangerous when you go to remove them. Thought of you.

@dawnbgethealthy I didn't know that about the face masks, but it makes perfect sense. Thanks for the info!
Yes, ladies, let's make April great! I want to look good in my shorts (like I did last summer and the summer before). I've got my work cut out for me, but I can do this. Especially when I'm not alone. I've done wonderful all day, but am entering that mysterious nighttime twilight zone when the bingeing can start. Sometimes, it can also be a time when my glucose drops and I panic. I will just have to keep my eye on the prize and hope the Diet Gods (and the Almighty God) gets me through. Like the old country song by Tammy Wynette "Help me make it through the night." Here's Hoping.

I like to weigh every day to keep me accountable - knowing that I will be weighing in the morning sometimes stops me from continuing to eat at night : - )

“We will encounter many defeats but we must not be defeated.” ~Maya Angelou

    Day 01 – 03/01 …….199.8……A long way to go….. Good luck everyone!
Day 02 – 03/02 ….…201.6…… Emergency travel yesterday with limited menu choices and limited movement.
    Day 03 – 03/03 …….201.6…… Prep cooked last night.
    Day 04 – 03/04 .…..200.8…… A nice drop after a well planned day. Why can’t I do this everyday?
    Day 05 – 03/05 ….…200.6…… Stayed the course, even with a special dinner & dessert for DGS#1 & DGS#2.
Day 06 – 03/06 …….200.3…… Very S..L..O..W.. Progress, but I’ll take what I can get! Diet & exercise on point yesterday. Praying that I will be just as strong today!
    Day 07 – 03/07 ….…200.1…… A slow but rewarding process.
Day 08 – 03/08 …….201.0…… Ate all the right low cal & low carb foods. I just ate to much of them. Control….Donna…..Control!
Day 09 – 03/09 …….200.2…… Better. It was not a perfect day but I realized that I don’t have to be perfect to be great.
Day 10 – 03/10 …….199.8…… I was hoping for a bigger drop, a whoosh even because I burned over 3200 calories yesterday and walked over 9 miles/over 21,000 steps. I stayed within calorie and carb range and my water intake was not too bad. However, no TMI so maybe that’s it. Slow and steady wins the race, I guess.
Day 11 – 03/11 …….199.8…… Very tired today. So far the food plan is going well but I am giving myself a self-imposed rest day from just about everything. Sit on butt day, for the most part!
Day 12 – 03/12 …….199.8…… Holding it steady but need a drop on the scale. Patience is a virtue for sure!
    Day 13 – 03/13 …….200.2……
    Day 14 – 03/14 …….199.9……
Day 15 – 03/15 …….200.1……Wow, the days ARE following the dates. Cool observation Dawn! @cpanus I hope you are continuing to do well following your surgery. Thinking of you!
Day 16 – 03/16 …….200.7…… My scale went up and it was from bad choices, not pre-weigh liquids. : / Yesterday was overboard by a bit. Today by a lot. Stress eating for sure. It’s gonna stop tomorrow.
    Day 17 – 03/17 …….200.4…… I’ve got to try harder!
Day 18 – 03/18 …….200.4…… I’m just trying to stay safe from the virus and figure out how to eat carbs without gaining weight!
    Day 19 – 03/19 …….200.8…… Then there’s that! Sheesh!

Day 20 – 03/20 …....201.3…… Gotta focus! Dawn, OMAD = one meal a day. Many people do this when doing a short Intermittent Fasting window like 20:4 . Sadly, my diabetes won’t allow me to eat just once without a severe glucose drop.
Day 21 – 03/21 …...202.1…… This weight definitely gets me motivated to get up off my fat *kitten* and start moving and eating right. I spent most of last night prep cooking and will be doing more today for my freezer. I’ve got this! Dawn, I forgot to add one more “s” word to the post above. Sexy!
Day 22 – 03/22 …...202.0…… I prep cooked a bit more last night. I also hope to do more prep cooking later. When I have many choices in my freezer, I will have no excuses. More movement is planned for today too!
Day 23 – 03/23 …...201.7…… It’s a crazy world out there right now. We are not allowed outside in Michigan except for essentials such as food & pharmacy. All non-essential business closed down including all manufacturing. Wow. A little more movement yesterday but not as much as I’d hoped.
    Day 24 – 03/24 .…..201.6……
Day 25 – 03/25 …...201.6…… I think I missed recording yesterday so I’ve updated. Spent yesterday shopping as the trucks came in. Delivered to children & grandchildren then got my butt back inside due to the mandatory stay-in order in my state (except for essential shopping). Welcome @Syreina. I think we all know each other from JGM10Days. So glad to have you. I love looking at a clearly laid out 100 days so this is a small but mighty challenge which I hope will build.
Day 26 – 03/26 …...203.2…… Holy cow! Being on lockdown in the house is making me go crazy I think. What was I thinking?
Day 27 – 03/27 …...203.8…… Disasterous. I’ll be finishing the raking today which will finally burn some calories. I am allowed out to rake because of my “essential” business on my property. Now, if I can just watch my diet too then I will be back on my way!
Day 28 – 03/28 …...203.5…… Re-inspired. Praying for a better day in my journey. Praying even harder for all the families and industries hurt by Coronavirus. Let’s keeping sticking together folks!
Day 29 – 03/29 ..….203.5…… No Change. Diet was much improved (though not perfect) but calorie burn was very low. I did a lot of home cleaning projects and such, but those don’t require much actual walking. More working in place. Today I (fearfully) clean cabins, working around long-term customers too. I’m very nervous. I have gloves but no masks. I am making one for myself and son with my breast cancer bandanas and hair ties. I have ordered more bandanas.
Day 30 – 03/30 ..….203.5…… No change again. I know why. I didn’t quite work hard enough for it.
Day 31 – 03/31 ..….203.5…… Wow. No change again. Feeling pretty stuck. I got a lot more movement (steps) in yesterday, the diet still left room for improvement. My plan for today: I have already pre-logged my food for the entire day (which I never do) so I will try to use it as a blueprint and follow it to the tee. I must also try to keep my steps up!

Weight Loss in March……………….. 3.7 lbs GAINED
Total Accumulated Weight Loss…..3.7 lbs Gained. More and better changes coming!!!

    Day 32 – 04/01…….203.2…… 0.3 down. It’s a start to new & better things!
Day 33 – 04/02 …...203.2…… I am so happy not to see a gain. I got in a 70 minute walk along my property yesterday and kept my diet exactly on point until the massive sugar drop and deep hunger (meant to make you eat and save you from Diabetic coma or shock) kicked in. I try to handle it well, but when you are in the middle of drowning, your natural human survival instinct is to get your head above the water. Shoveling in food is flailing and getting your head above the water and saving yourself quickly before you drown. That is the best way I can describe the feeling and the response. Sadly, if it happens again tonight, my body will react the same. Perhaps if someone else were here with me to help pull me up out of the water safely, but there is not. Only my Autistic son who panics. I know that my body is trying to readjust to my new attempts at weight loss with the lower calorie counts. I got through this when I first started my journey in 2018 and I will get through it again. I just have to give my body time for the adjustments, and as my WEIGHT COMES OFF, it all improves, even the glucose levels. Walking the tight rope here.

Wow! Good for you. Can't say that I don't hate that young people, and guys, lose so much faster than us older females : - )

I'm not sure how it works exactly between ages, but I've been stalling weight for months and it is finally just dropping thanks to a change in diet. I think a lot of it may be water weight. It may seem steep and fast but it will slow down once my system adjusts I would say. If it doesn't, I will be surprised.

    @deepwoodslady
So sorry to hear about the blood sugar drops. Very scary.
Do you try to eat small amounts more often to keep it level?
Really glad that you got out for a walk.

@dawnbgethealthy My meals & snacks are already rather close together. That is because I try to practice Intermittent Fasting and do so about 95% or more of the time. Interestingly enough, my sugar never drops during my IF during the day (it should drop when I don't eat). It is always about 2-3 hours before bed and within an hour or two of my last meal or snack. I honestly think it has a lot to do with the exercise. Exercise and walking are EXACTLY how you lower your sugar when it's too high. If you go to the hospital with a huge sugar spike, they start walking you to bring it down. I think I just have to readjust to lower cals & carbs again, readjust to regular walking & exercise and mainly, get my WEIGHT BACK DOWN. It's seriously a tightrope. When it happens too often, I take away one of my diabetes pills and that usually levels it off. When it starts getting too high, I put the pill back on. I know that is manipulating it, but it's impossible to do permanent changes (with the doctor) until we see a regular pattern. This morning my glucose was 328 and was lit up in bright red as an emergency. (I did have a sugary snack last night). I may be getting high also from taking some medication away. So for the next few days I will add it back in and see what happens. I really just need to stick to an eating routine so I can get the REAL PICTURE. I swear I am trying. When I doing good, I'm actually doing GREAT. But when I suck........ ugggg

I like to weigh every day to keep me accountable - knowing that I will be weighing in the morning sometimes stops me from continuing to eat at night : - )
My name is Dawn. 59 year old female.
I live in South East British Columbia Canada
MFP start date October 29.18 - SW 191
    Ultimate goal weight - 112 - 115

    November 22
    Day 1: 11/22 - 158.1

    November result: 0.4lb loss

    December result: Gain 3.1 pounds

    Day 71, Fri, 1/31: 159.7

    January result: Gain 0.2 pounds

Day 72, Sat, 2/1: 158.1 - exactly the same as Day 1 of 100 days
    Day 100, Sat, 2/29: 154.4
    February result: Loss 3.7

Total loss over 100 days: 3.7 pounds

Parking here until there is another post for March 01 - June 07

    Day 1 - Sunday March 01.20 - 155.3 - up almost a pound from yesterday.

Day 13 - Friday March 13.20 - 152.1 - Wow, all of the hard work is showing some progress! New low.

Day 31 - Tuesday March 31.20 - 156.9 - burned lots of calories, consumed under calories but still showed an uptick on the scale.

March results: Kind of a bust, 1.6 pounds gained

Day 32 04.01.20 - 155.4 - I think that March was hard for everyone. Onward to April.
Day 33 04.02.20 - 154.8 - Seeing a drop in the scale motivates me more than anything else at all. Almost back to end of February weight. That 0.4 is my next goal.
Day 34 Friday 04.03.20 - 155.4 - No sleep last night. I weighed myself and was up 3 pounds, so went back to bed for some snoozes listening to the bedside radio. Really on track, so hoping to see a drop tomorrow.

Yesterday was a big change in diet. Lots more protein. Had a large serving of chicken, broccoli, onions, tomatoes and spinach over rice, a medium sized hamburger on a bun with no cheese or condiments, just veggies, a bowl of cheerios and 1 regular potato as well as 1 sweet potato. Still not meeting my protein quotas, but I can only afford so much right now. Budget is tight. Going to buy some more chicken today hopefully and some tuna and eggs. I have lots of cans with protein in them but the sodium content is so high. It's a learning experience.

We will get you back under 200 soon! You have already lost so much. (Me too)
Sometimes we need to just change it up?
Small amounts eaten often do not equal IF in any way shape or form. Is your doctor okay with you doing IF considering your diabetes? One of our women on here went off of IF and began eating breakfast and small meals/healthy snacks throughout the day and finally lost the weight. Everybody is different of course.
It makes sense that your blood sugar spikes when you eat. Keeping the levels even all day might prevent spikes?
I was borderline after sent for testing by my doctor and losing weight was my only option other than going on meds. I am getting closer to the 40 pound loss mark, but it is really hard!
Glad that you are getting out for walks. If you stop each hour and dance to one 3 minute song (or youtube short exercise video) you would rack up an extra 300+ calorie burn over 10 hours.
I am cheering you on from over here : - )

@dawnbgethealthy I appreciate each & every idea that you share. I've found everyone on MFP to be so helpful and generous. This week I am trying some new things in my diet for sure. But it is unclear how much it is helping when I self-sabotage to cave in to cravings at night! I've got to get it together honestly so I can get a clearer picture of what is helping with the weight loss and not hurting the glucose! I know it's my own fault.

You have no idea how much I truly appreciate your support and your ideas. Sharing your experiences with me means so much! Today I will do very very good again. I've been planning my meals and snacks pretty good, but I've got to stick to the plan and not give in to the foods & snacks that are here for my son. I'm going to try super-de-dooper hard tonight. I think I can do this!

I do get up from any office work every hour in order to get in my steps. I know that, overall, it increases the amount of calories burned. I don't count it as exercise, or record it as such unless it is 10 minutes or more (the same way my fitbit does), but movement is movement and I know it helps. I will have a lot of sitting in the coming week due to sales tax packages, state taxes and federal taxes. All very large packages I prepare for my accountant. However, I still think I can do better in the exercise department. I must get more spurts of steady movement in (10 minutes or more). As you probably know, dancing is something I love and I have gotten a bit away from it. I will start back today! Thanks for the encouragement. And thanks for the reminder that even small steps add up to a lot of progress in my journey! Stay safe!

    Day 35 Saturday 04.04.20 - 154.3
    Day 36 – Sunday 04.05 - 155.7

Yesterday was a big change in diet. Lots more protein. Had a large serving of chicken, broccoli, onions, tomatoes and spinach over rice, a medium sized hamburger on a bun with no cheese or condiments, just veggies, a bowl of cheerios and 1 regular potato as well as 1 sweet potato. Still not meeting my protein quotas, but I can only afford so much right now. Budget is tight. Going to buy some more chicken today hopefully and some tuna and eggs. I have lots of cans with protein in them but the sodium content is so high. It's a learning experience.

I know what you mean when looking at the content of things once we put them into the tracker. My issue isn't really sodium, it is fat, which always seems to end up to be 1/2 of my pie chart. It seems that most proteins that I try to get have more grams of fat than of protein.
I have also been trying to get more fibre because the numbers were so low, but am finding that very difficult to get into my diet.
This sure is a learning experience! You are doing great!

Oh, I didn't know that you liked to dance!
That is primarily what I do for my workouts. Zumba burns lots more calories than regular aerobics for some reason.
I love Fitness Marshall. The dances seems pretty hard or complicated at first, but I find after 5 times of doing the same song (not all in one day) that I pick up the moves. I started doing it last April when I found him on Youtube. It is pop songs that I was mostly unfamiliar with at first. I like it better than the typical Zumba music, and it is giving me an education on modern pop music. I definitely have my favourites, and the other day made myself a kind of set list. Sometimes when I am pressed for time, I will do just one song here and there to ramp up my metabolism or chase away the blues, or just to step away from working on my computer for 3 minutes.
I would be happy to give you links to a few of my fave dances if you are interested.

I don't think that only you and I gained weight in March, I think that it was a tough month for most people. I feel more optimistic about April for weight loss for us both : - )

@dawnbgethealthy Yes I would love to see the links. I've never tried Zumba and I've never heard of Fitness Marshall.

I am also feeling good about April. Today is day 3 of my glucose being high (in the danger zone) with the morning check. I am trying new things which is helping my appetite and easing the scale down, but my glucose is sky high! I'm going to tweak my diet plan today to keep the calories low, the choices high, but the carbs down a bit more. I have no idea what will be on the menu yet, but I am going to work on it. Today I clean guest cabins and motel rooms so I will get in plenty of walking and movement. I am excited about that! I will also get to get outside. Lots of inside business right now with the shut-in. It is deceiving when I look outside. Very sunny, but very cold right now. However, I still look forward to getting outside. We've had several days of cold rain this week.

Thanks for sharing your info. I would love to give it a try.

Day 34 – 04/03 …...203.1…… a touch better but it should have been Much Better.
Day 35 – 04/04 …...203.1…… A so-so day yesterday. Night time is tough for cravings! Glucose very high again this morning at 298 and in the red danger zone on my machine. I’ve got to stop the madness!
Day 36 – 04/05 …...202.8…… A nice drop on the scale this morning. I stuck to my plan yesterday and did not have any severe cravings or failures last night. It was a perfect day overall and it all paid off. Glucose very high again this morning so I will have to work on that today. Otherwise, I’m very very happy today.
