02/17 …..194.8 ….. Travel today. Yesterday I tweaked my goals on MFP to better reflect what I am trying to do at this point. I cleaned tourist cabins. I walked for 31 minutes. I also did a dance session with my son (yay Johnny!) for 27 minutes. Sample song “smooth” by Carlos Santana. My eating was reasonable until night time during TV when I began snacking when I wasn’t even hungry. Not good. I am still a work in progress. Travel today will be a brick wall but it’s a new round. 02/17: 128.0 - TOM gave me a little jump at the end of last round after trending at 127.4 for a week. Tis fine, will come back down. Great but quick arm workout this morning with hubby before he had to head to work. It's a gorgeous day, the sun is shining. All my peeps are playing pickleball but I have to stay strong, resist and stick to my rehab schedule of playing no more than every other day. Enjoy your day, everyone!
02/18: 127.2 lbs - Back down. Did not hit my protein macro yesterday but came close. Still way better than I used to be a couple months ago. Leg workout this morning followed by an hour of pickleball, feeling good. Did my elbow p/t last night before bed, some of the exercises are getting easier and some of them are not. Tendon healing takes forever (and ever and ever). Taking my 16 yr old son to get his drivers license this afternoon, exciting and terrifying!

Goals: continue with 12 hr. IF, see if I can complete my tracking every day and get to the gym 3x a week and not eat back the cals. Getting some exercise the non-gym days would be a great bonus.

69 years old female...5'5" ...I used to be 5'7" but arthritis hit and I lost two inches, so now that two inches is squished around my waist like the billows of a big accordion...
...Oh, well. I'll just keep working on it.
We used to walk 5 miles a day. A pinched nerve and back surgery side-lined me for about a year. Then I had back surgery. Now I'm waiting to get my hip fixed. Hip Doc said surgery in April. Ugh! I can't do any walking or biking...both kill me. I see my personal trainer three times a week. She is taking it very slow and easy with me.
I have March 10th as my hip surgery date...much better than April!

@TwistedSassette After losing weight the first 3 weeks of MFP, I spent 3 weeks going up and down sometime as much as 2 pounds up at a time and just broke out of it the last four days. Last night I watched youtube videos on why your weight goes up when trying to lose weight even if doing all the right things. One video went over all the reasons your weight fluctuates; another guy was a personal trainer, and he said he found after working with clients for many years, that most weight loss is down/up, down/up; or down, then no loss for days, then down again. He said most people give up during the times the weight is going up or staying the same because obviously it is easy to stay motivated when you're losing but so hard when not. He also talked about how losing .5 lbs a week is very normal - that I needed to hear because I always have unrealistic expectations
. Maybe if you haven't already, looking at some youtube videos about why weight fluctuates even when doing all the right things may help you as well.
One other thing I did because I was getting frustrated, I wanted to see what would happen if I was very strict for 4 days, that's it just make it thru 4 days of hitting all my goals. IF 16 hours or more, calories less than 1500, water at least 64oz, some form of exercise all 4 days, and eat at least 5 veg/fruit. I made it 3 days hitting all, and most goals on the 4th day but it kicked me back into gear because I have a tendency to start slowing down after a while. And just thinking about 4 days only seemed doable. Hang in there!

02/17: DNW; Sunday info: 1619 steps, 1 of 12, 7h50m (86); Sunday was a completely lazy day at my Uncle’s house. I slept in and never actually got out of my pajama’s. I snacked most of the day and really didn’t record much. We had a decent lunch and leftover Mexican for dinner.
02/18: 203.6 (+2.9); Monday info: 3565 steps, 4 of 12, 6h39m (79); Monday was the day to drive home as our mini-vacation was over. Unfortunately, I forgot to track anything before midnight so I lost my 29 day streak. Mom and I tried to eat smart while traveling. I was exhausted and went to bed early but had a blood sugar drop before I fell asleep so I crammed some peanuts and OJ to help that out. Wasn’t the best ending to my day.
