I'm going to do the challenge but I'm not registering or getting the bling (although it's pretty nice, I copied it below) as I'm trying to limit spending right now. If anyone wants to join me in doing the challenge (or modifying it to your own goal), it might be fun for us to keep us going during April. There is a pdf in that link where you can track your miles if you want.
The sponsor Willow Running is local to me, but there is a way to have the swag mailed to you at your expense if you wanted to sign up for it. So you don't have to click through it is $42.50 and here is the bling: "All finishers that complete the challenge will receive a custom finisher medal, custom shirt, Zulu Audio Wearable Speakers (retail value $39.99)*, $10 gift certificate from Confluence Running, A new plant based and gluten free BOOM! Energy Bar, a $10 Willow Running gift certificate ($10 off any 2020 Willow Running event) and a Fidelis Care swag bag."

I will join you in this challenge! That will give me incentive to stick to my April goal!
I might too!1 -

Morning all.
Work was really really quiet last night, it was odd. That calm before the storm feeling. Had an OK sleep, but am still tired.
Rest day today so I'm going to read a book then go for a long walk. Probably have a nap again before going to work at 3.
Amazed by everyone still getting out and doing their runs. Just incredible! And even more impressed by people doing dreadmill runs!6 -
@hamsterwheel6 Nice effort! You did it. Cute pic and what a cute neighborhood!0

I had grand intentions of forest service trails today. But then learned that the spots that aren’t closed as “developed recreation areas” are pretty well still under snow. So, decided I was going to go out and just do a nice long walk and get some sunshine time in, and enjoy it. So, then I promptly pulled my door shut without my keys.... ugh... and all of my “spare key” options are limited by people not being at work/no walk in access/office doors locked.... so, I got my hour of sunshine time, but it wasn’t as relaxing or fitness focused as I was hoping.
I even have a key copy that’s I made to try and solve such problems.... but I just haven’t figured out where to put it, that wouldn’t 1. Also be likely locked or 2. Be too obvious for my neighbors.5 -
@Elise4270 Is that chart world wide or the USA? Love the trend for today, whichever it is.0

It is world wide. The US numbers were still rising at a glance. So... Hopefully we'll get with it soon and trend down from here on.1 -
I got out in the sunshine for a nice walk at lunch and after work I ran 5 miles on a nearby trail. Today it was sunny and 65 but so windy. Tomorrow the temp drops and the weather man even mentioned the S word!6

I met my monthly goal today with a 3 mile run around my neighborhood. It was pouring rain most of the morning so I waited it out and managed to get out when it was only misting/spitting rain. Not bad for running really, and I definitely overdressed for it.
I am a bit behind in the thread but will try to catch up and I'm going to head over to the April thread and get started there too.6 -
Social distancing work's y'all. This is my county:

@hamsterwheel6 Way to go getting it done and not giving up! You really hung in there through your struggles!1

wow @PastorVincent ! That is great! If only it had the same affect on my weight...
Since PV had such great news I had to see how the US was doing... this includes a correction. US numbers not world. Brain farts.
Oops@quilteryoyo I told you wrong.. those were US numbers
Here’s the world numbers.
Numbers are moving in the right direction... for the rest of the world.... c’mon US... distance!2 -

I distrust the weekend numbers in the US. Two weeks in a row the line is consistent except on Sundays, when it’s lower than expected. I think some lab staff are taking the day off.2 -
0331-8.1k, total-68.1k goal-100k
Hey all. It's been a week since my last run again, didn't make anything close to monthly goal. But still healthy and still running, so all is good.
Some personal *kitten* below. The girlfriend has now become the ex, and the process was not pretty. Lots of hard feelings and hard objects got thrown around. Spent the last week hashing things out, looking for a new apartment and moving. Basically settled as of yesterday.
Spent the run feeling out the new neighborhood. It's more of a business district than the last place, so much quieter in the early morning. There's a pretty big park with a 6km loop a little more than 2km away, so I've finally got a reasonable place to do long runs (not that I'm seeing many of them in the near future, but nice to have the option).
Updates on the C-virus situation in China for anyone interested:Beijing has had no local cases for nearly a month. All new cases have been people coming in from other countries. Currently they are sending any and all international travelers straight to the hospital if they have any symptoms, or into 14-day quarantine in designated hotels if they don't. No going home. No wandering about. We haven't closed our borders, but local airlines are allowed one flight a week per country, and foreign companies are allowed one flight a week to anywhere in China. I guess this keeps incoming people to a minimum, while anyone who direly needs to go anywhere can do so.
Yesterday went to eat in at a restaurant for the first time since this thing blew up in January. Most places are still either closed or doing takeaway only, and there are pretty strict rules for the places that are open for business. Two or three people are allowed at each table - any more and you'll have to wait for a private room. Every other table is left empty. We got a little card with each dish, stating the name of the chef who made it and his/her temperature today. But it was great to be able to eat together with a friend, after so long in isolation. It feels like a start.
First week back at work was kinda funny. One suddenly likes one's colleagues a lot better. We've got a third of the team coming in at a time, so things feel pretty slow even if the workload is not. People try to keep their distance and wear their masks until one guy takes it off to drink coffee, and then forgets all about it and starts talking to some other guy, and before you know it half the office is joking around and sharing snacks.
Sorry, that was a pretty depressing post. But it'll get better. Keep healthy and safe, everyone.16 -
Great work @hamsterwheel6 - finishing the HM at all under these circumstances sounds like a massive win to me!
@katharmonic - tempted by that challenge! I’ve been running a steady 3-4 mile route nearly every day in March so I guess it’s possible, but not sure if it would be asking for injury to do it without any breaks when I’m only just back to running since my operation. And I probably couldn’t participate officially as I’m over in the UK. Hmmm...
@noblsheep - sorry that you’ve had tough times. Hopefully a corner has been turned in more ways than one. Wishing you more good things to come.
@Avidkeo - hope work remains quiet for you and that we are all going to see some improvements soon.
I’m ending the month on a slightly shorter but back to slightly faster (average 10.5 minute miles) run. Which is not terrible given that I have to haul my slightly bigger rear ended up some nasty hills (max elevation 430ft).
Going to ponder my April goal and will see you over there soon x
