    Where I live in Pennsylvania, people are flocking to large stores and stripping the shelves. The large stores here will tell people over the phone if they are sold out of something. They will not tell people when the trucks come (they might say daily or within a 12 hour window) because they don't want large crowds showing up at those times.

    They're an hour away from me, so I was just wondering if others have gone to the larger bulk stores before I venture out.

    I can't speak for Costco, as I don't have a membership. But, from those I know who do say that they are busy like the other stores. I know here the Safeways stores have put out that they are looking to hire all kinds of people while this thing's going on.

    Always worth a call.

    Our Sam's Club is out of everything essential, including random clothing they sell. The store looks like an empty warehouse. People are not faring better at them than they would at a regular store.

    I was looking forward, to going swimming this year since my poison ivy scars've healed enough, that I don't look like I've open wounds and/or something contagious but my apartment complex, most likely'll keep the pool closed this Summer.

    There's no more food at our grocery store and they have no idea when the longhaul truckers will make it back in here. Every shelf looks like a plucked chicken.

    @mbrodrick I agree with you. I'm doing all of the cooking for family members. We're taking it back outside for sunshine and fresh air. I've been thinking about everyone who's been working out for years and years. Now is their time to really shine and use every functional muscle they've worked so hard for...this where the rubber really meets the road for their finest hour.

    I live in Ohio, US. Our whole state has been ordered to 'stay at home', which basically means I work at home (which I'm lucky to be able to do) and only leave to walk to the dog and get groceries 1x a week. We don't have children.

    I love working at home - so for me, this is great. I'm not really social normally, so if I'm asked to say put, I'll happily stay put. I am worried about the weight gain but I'm still weighing and adjusting according to the scale. I'm lucky that I was already below my maintenance range when we started this a week ago!

    My parents live in Pennsylvania and are over 60, so worry about them not having help but they seem to be doing ok.

    Lost 3-1/2 lbs in 1-wk without trying to, which is fine, as I'm rationing, which is also good. Living on 1/3 the food I used to eat isn't affecting me negatively, except that I'm glad to save the dollars. I also enjoy spending less time preparing/cooking food, cuz I've always cooked only from scratch & it does become a bloody chore at times.

    Instead of doing 1 workout, I now spread exercise over 2-3 smaller workouts, which makes it seem easy... 20-min a few times/day is nothing as far as time or effort is concerned.

    Every other day I walk rather than do exercises at home. It's amazing how the body can adjust so quickly. Each day, I can easily walk 1/2-1 mi further. Only my new, ill fitting Pumas are preventing me from doing more, but those monsters are being returned as soon as I decide to venture out... the store is an hour away, so I'd rather wait 'til I'm sure they're open & don't close before I arrive.

    I am enjoying the quiet, but, it can be eerie. Everyone's car has been in the parking lot for wks, but I don't know what people are doing, cuz aside from the rare TV/footsteps I hear from my upstairs, always housebound neighbor, I hear/see no one else. This complex has lots of kids... never hear a sound. Maybe all the kids are grandkids who visit & don't live here?

    I’m a biometric screening specialist that works for a company contracted by the state. Ive only worked 3 days this month. Due to Covid-19 all of my work sites were cancelled. I’m scheduled to work a full day April 6th if that doesn’t get cancelled. I’m not used to being home all day everyday, plus not being able to really go anywhere because my city is under a shelter in place order. I understand why, and will stay in to help keep myself and others safe. Hubby’s company has him working from home.

    My husband works for the Dept. of Defense, doing "essential" work with the public. I'm home here social distancing like crazy, but he's out there every day, all day among the masses. A co-worker in the same position just called in sick with a cough...here it comes...wish me luck. :s

    I'm in the same boat, except we are both working still. A coworker of mine called in with a fever yesterday. I'm projecting we get it within the next 3 weeks if we haven't already and are magically in the non-symptomatic group. Hang in there!

    Mine's DOD Navy, so of course, they are all still working even though there have been numerous reported cases on the base we live. So he comes and goes daily, my son and I are trying to social distance to keep from getting it or spreading it if we get it... and the military just acts like it's "business as usual".

    Not helped by the fact that here, people are trouncing around as though it's a giant vacation, filling up the beaches, being out and about, etc. No wonder our cases are steadily increasing. Yeesh.
