Sorry I haven't posted in awhile, or responded to anyone's posts. I promise I did read them all, and your positive stories made me smile (especially the squirrels and talk of bears and such.) I've just been a giant ball of stress. I spent 4 hours cleaning my house yesterday because for some reason, that's a good stress outlet for me and it always makes me feel better to have a spotless house. I also got my crib set up...what fun that was. I think I only dropped a swear word maybe 8 times? :D
A week and a half ago my husband tore his bicep tendon, the one attaching to his elbow. He has to have surgery to reattach it Friday, but they're making him test for COVID today. I'm trying not to let my nerves get the best of me. Either option is not good.

If he's negative, that's fantastic, but the injury has still forced him to drop out of the police academy until August and finish in October. He would be finishing with the next class, not the one he started with, so he's pretty heartbroken. But at least they've given him that option and we won't have to pay for the entire academy again. But our baby is supposed to be here August 23rd, so if I'm on maternity leave (with no actual pay, I just get to use up my sick leave/vacation and then go without income) then we're kinda screwed financially...
And if he's positive, I'm not necessarily worried about the virus itself, but I am extremely worried that I'd have to be quarantined as well and miss 2 weeks of work. Our policy says that if we test positive, we get 2 weeks of paid sick leave, but its unclear if we're forced to dip out of what we've acrued, or if we're just handed 2 weeks worth :/
If I have to dip out of what I've got saved up, then we're even more screwed... Because then I won't have more than 2-3 weeks worth left to use for my maternity leave.
We were counting on my husband being done with the academy in May, and then we'd have two full incomes and save as much money as we could until the baby is here. Now that's completely shot, and we might only have my income, or hardly anything at all.
I'm just trying so hard to keep myself together at this point and praying that he tests negative today.

On the running topic, though, I'm only 5.5 miles from my goal of 50 miles this month. I was going to try and push for 60 next month, but with being 6 months pregnant, I think I might be better off setting a goal of 40 or 50 again and then if I go farther, I go farther.

Since you're running for two, if you do 25 miles that's actually 50 -- 25 for you and 25 for the baby!
Hoping the news is good and everything works out.

    The math checks out.

@katharmonic Fantastic mileage. The hike looks like fun and Stella is a cutie.

@eleanorhawkins Maybe you could do your warm up walk outside, duck inside for the run, and then back out for the cool down walk. Great job on the faster intervals. Was Hal impressed?

@brittanystebbins95 Hugs to you. Sound like you are "nesting" right now. I love a clean house too, but hate cleaning. Just me. Sorry to hear about your husband. I hope he tests negative and can have his surgery. Hang in there. Wish I could help.

I ran 6 miles this morning. It was a really lovely morning. I was worried that it would be windy, but the wind wasn't a factor and it was really nice at 60°F. It is starting to get light earlier and I really enjoy being able to run when it isn't dark outside. I was able to turn off my noxgear vest about halfway through the run. And the sun was really pretty coming up as I headed to the house.

@brittanystebbins95 I'm so sorry about your husband and all of the stress you are going through. Hang in there.

@janejellyroll We had storms last night and I have one dog that absolutely hates thunder. I believe it was @shanaber who recommend a thunder shirt. I haven't bought one yet, but I did use a large ace bandage to make a DIY thundershirt and it actually seems to help.

@kgirlhart I've seen the thunder shirt in stores, I think it's time to see if I can find one online.

Foot pain still feels better, but it's there, does that make sense?
Yesterday was speed work (about 5 total with wu/cd and today was 7 miles. The legs certainly were complaining a bit about the speed work yesterday. Was a much slower pace as a result. Started out 66F and ended at 74F so yeah the temp could also be a factor. Thanks for the reminder @PastorVincent .

@brittanystebbins95 Lots of hugs. Sorry about your husband, and I can feel how stressful this all is.
    @mbaker566 Hope you are ok!

    Loving the HAL escapades!

I'm closing out the month at 194.51km - my coach moved today's run to tomorrow which means I miss the 200km club, but I'm refusing to obsess over it and I am not running today. My poor wee legs need a break. That being said, he has scheduled an hour's cross training and an hour's yoga for today.

The scary bit was reading than instead of the usual 1.5hr aerobic run on Sunday, he has me down for 2-4 hours absorption pace (slow). Yikes. Have mapped out a 27.5km route which should take about three hours, and will be my longest run ever!

    Woah! Cool!! Go you.

I accidentally woke the whole house this morning oops. Went for a walk this morning before the un came up, then a 20 min or so strength session that miss 3 decided to join in on since she was up, hubby and miss 6 sensibly decided to stay in bed.

It's good getting back to strength training, I've finally set my gym up in the basement garage so I don't have to keep putting my weights away. It's a nice quiet place to get it done.

May tomorrow. This year is going fast!

@eleanorhawkins hope that you get cleared to run outside and a good distance from home. I hope that the anxiety will ease once you get out again.

@marisap2010 I liked that Keep it Classy virtual 5k shirt too and was so tempted to sign up for it. Glad you got it. And nice deal on the shoes!

@brittanystebbins95 I'm so sorry for all your stress. Because it's virtual I can offer a big hug. That sounds like so much to deal with right now. Sending all the good vibes your way.

Aw, @janejellyroll, sorry about the lack of sleep. I can totally get the side-eye of him snoozing the day away after keeping you up all night.

@mbaker566 hoping for good news for you too on the coworkers test and that you haven't been exposed. It's very scary.

@Faebert good for you for coming in way over your target and donating money for those miles. That's a wonderful tribute to those caring for your niece.

@quilteryoyo congrats on an EASY run! That really is great. Especially one where you went longer than you planned.

@ContraryMaryMary great mileage this month and good for you for taking a rest day. I'm curious about a "2-4 hour" run though. My coach always has time-based rather than mileage goals but they only vary by 15 minutes from one week to the next for a long run. I don't quite get the purpose of that huge of a time range for a training run. Do you just stop when you feel done, or what?

@Avidkeo - congrats on signing up for a marathon! Woo hoo! I immediately reacted with some horror though at seeing the words "more people = more fun" right now. We're not allowed! I hope November will be a totally different outlook.

Yeah really hope by November it will be sorted. I'm pretty confident actually given how NZ has been handling it.

@katharmonic I heard that a vaccine could be possible by September. It's crazy to think that in a few months this whole experience could be surreal memory.

But you know how it is with these things. Often someone jumps ahead to quickly just to go down in the history books.

Wow! November is what... spring for you? Is that good weather time at least?

We have been hearing about a vaccine form several different companies all "in testing" or "ready to test in humans" for almost this entire lockdown in USA. Someone is bound to come up with one eventually, but it gets hard to credit after the 10th or 12th claim. :)

Yep spring. November is typically pretty good for weather. I mean the marathon I'm training for ATM is in July, the middle of winter!!
