Keep in mind ladies the fees Machka posted are in Australian dollars. The exchange rate is listed as $1 US dollar=.63 Australian dollar👍

Heather, I wanted to express to you, as I saw the pic you posted when you did your 5K, that your quality of life has improved tenfold!💖. You and hubby were meant for that place, and like plants, took root and is gloriously thriving! It makes me happy to see you content. Though I know you have worries as we all do, but I had to mention.👍

Bananas - Yes, interesting article. The toll on NYC medical personnel has been huge.
Rebecca - Thank you. Yes, we love it here, even though our lives are restricted a bit at the moment. We do have a few crazy tourists who are still coming down from London and think they can find a fish and chip shop open, but they are few and far between. For both of us the sea is a huge part of our lives. We love it with a passion. I especially love it when the waves are high! We went out early this morning, but we will be staying in tomorrow. The police are doing their very best to drum the rules into stupid people, usually not locals. Locals are generally super cautious about distancing and helpful. That was a big surprise to us when we came here, how friendly and relaxed everyone is. We do have a few stupid bike riders on the promenade who I shout at! Poor DH hates me! (They are not supposed to be there) :grumble:
My life hasn't changed, except that I am not worrying about all the things I should be doing. I'm writing, which is the main thing. I'm exercising, just as much as ever. I'm cooking up a storm. We should have set off on our cruise tomorrow so I would, right now, be quite agitated instead of relaxed! My only sadness is not seeing the grandchildren. But even that used to cause me anxiety - had I seen them enough? Had I done enough for them? Was I a good enough granny? As a perfectionist, I had a lot to live up to. Now I can just relax and no one is judging me, least of all myself.
I hope to Zoom them this weekend.
I also have had my hair colour delivery, so I can use the last box I had been keeping back.
Vera repeat tonight.

Banana and oranges that would make sense more exposure more reaction. Good theory .

Kate UK – I’m so sorry about your friend
We now have a clean garbage can – inside and out. Cleaned the bathroom top to bottom since the plumber will be here Monday and Vince wants him to also look at the sink since he’ll be here. Cleaned the kitchen sink (again), cleaned the stove top, vacuumed, cleaned all the stainless steel. Like I said, I’m running out of things to clean….lol The floor could stand to be cleaned. I don’t want to use the Mop and Glow on it just yet.

Heather - amen and amen to this. And I totally agree that 2 is company, 3 is a crowd. I've never been into "group" stuff.
This timely article popped into my email this morning: https://introvertdear.com/news/how-social-distancing-has-become-too-social/ Although it's talking about people wanting to be on social media more, I think it also illustrates neighbors wanting to get out and be social with each other more.
And you gave me an idea to get my own shopping basket. Thank you. I just ordered one from Amazon. Most of the time I'm just picking up a few items and use one of those handcarts anyhow - this way I can know it's adequately cleaned. Sometimes, depending on the store, I can't find one at the front door and end up using a big cart. Ugh.
Plus it will be perfect to keep in the car to set a grocery bag in to keep things from rolling around.
Wore my mask to Walmart. Even with the nose clip, it was a PAIN. Still had fogging glasses. Material became damp. Hard to breathe through although the material is not as thick as a surgical mask. I realized I was touching it all the time! Luckily it was a quick trip. Store wasn't crowded.
Heard a bit of news on the radio that folks somewhere were being tested and there were some (30% if I heard it right) who already had antibodies. It's thought the virus was around for a little bit in that community before anyone realized it? This is purely anecdotal - I don't have a source. It would be great if that's the case however!
For some reason I'm not hungry yet so might end up joining Rebecca for an OMAD day.
Michele - hope Vince is OK. Sending hugs your way!
OK ladies, carry on!

LANETTE ~ The stores around here are banning the use of bringing your own shopping bags. I guess if yours is a wire basket, they would let you use it.

Oh my goodness! Pretty proud of myself. Yesterday's meal was tuna boats at 12 noon and was done pretty much at 1 pm. Had my coffee with sugar until 4pm. So technically I ended my eating window at 4 pm. So today's meal was at 11:30 am, so I did 20 hours, ( dirty fasted almost 22). Listening to myself, and my stomach was growling this morning. So its nice to feel hunger, the physical feeling. Not just eating because its a certain time.
So I browned 1/4 hamburger in a bit of olive oil, and hotshot.spices. Then I cut up about 2cups of fresh spinach and tossed that with about 1/2 cup of diced tomatoes and onions (canned), walnuts and Amy's shiitake sesame dressing. After the ground beef was browned I splashed a bit more of the dressing in there too. I piled the spinach and tomatoes over the beef and put a lid over it on low. Then I used up the rest of the tomatoes on a slice of hearty grains bread toasted and slathered with avocado. I buy those guacamole cups so its easy to measure. I also had a mug of pinto beans soup broth, (no beans) from the freezer, (I heated it haahaa). I didn't finish that... I need to log it all out of curiosity. I might have my Betty Crocker Mug treats later. You just add 3 Tablespoons of milk, microwave for 1 min, 15 seconds and voila', you have a brownie! Its just enough sweet for me.

lost a huge post when sleep overcame me.
Machka, my long-time therapist said to look at a dream and try to decide what about you each element of it resembles. So for me, perhaps, a tornado meant the destructive forces in my life that I felt I couldn’t escape. I dreamt that dream repeatedly from my preteen years on. I could never escape the tornado and I woke breathless after dreaming it sucked me up and was pulling me apart. After years of psychological help, in my dream I built a barricade in a garage on my route and the tornado raged outside, then passed, because it couldn’t get me. I never dreamed it again.
The advice on fighting covid-19 poster was hilarious, however, I’ve seen folks post elsewhere who are just dumb enough (unkind, I know, but true!) to take it seriously.
Janetr, they may have been desperate, as you say. Those items, especially the tools, would sell quickly in some areas. I know one of those little carts like that can mean so much for local mobility. Before I lost my weight I was devastated when a couple of heedless grandsons blew up the engine on my gas golf cart. It meant not having to go down to the pool area in my car and trying to find a handicapped parking space. I hope your homeowners’ insurance will help to recover the loss, at least a little.
Rita, that photo of your hand, the bucket, and the laundry is poetic. It has a real beauty that shines not only in the theme, but the composition and color.
Rebecca, how true! Go to those who are able to help. Every family of any real size has that spectrum to some degree, doesn’t it?
Amber, I’m sorry you hurt your wrist again. I know you’re not a youngster, but thankfully you still fall in an age range that heals at somewhat more than a snail’s pace. Does JR worry when he sees an adult fall, or does he figure you’re like him, and a fall only hurts a moment? Thanks for the cartoons and other humor!
Julie Bananas, I’m so glad to hear it probably wasn’t pneumonia. The fatigue of doing nothing can be greater than that of working at a pretty good clip. I’ve found moving around my environment and tidying one thing in each area (Trust me - there are PLENTY to choose from!) helps give me a little exercise, and if I’m lucky, my attention deficit kicks in and one task reminds me of another, and that sends me to another. Few are finished, but they’re one step closer, I feel better, and I’ve had some exercise.
Katla in NW OR! Washington being Washington and Oregon being Oregon, I expect they’ll find a way to hold farmers’ markets or have farm stands open. The outdoor nature of them and making wider aisles would probably let them restrict access and yet have them open. I’m hoping so. There are two rather large ones fairly close by. Summer is icumin in!
SuzyQ! That cat! 😂
Kim from NC - the un identified kindnesses filled up my heart just hearing about them! The vast majority of people are good at heart, just as Anne Frank said in her diary.
Barbara AHMOD! What a terrific idea to re-purpose breast pumps as ventilators! I hope they can put that idea through quickly.
Good thing I lost that huge post. This one is quite long enough. My personal weekend is over, and I need to be at work by 3pm, so I must get my hair washed and get ready to go. Goldie, my cat, is trying her best to keep me pinned in the chair. Sorry, Little Girl! Go out on the sleeping porch with your sis and enjoy the heat and sunshine there! It’s 80° on the porch.
Take care, all of you! I’d miss any member if my wide-world community!

Vince just called to say that his heartrate is back to normal. They gave him some beta blockers but there were some things that we're normal (don't know the whole story there) so they're keeping him overnight for observation. I AM glad that Jess is here.
Went to pick up a prescription for Jess' cat. At first I was going to walk there (it's about a mile from the house) but remember yesterday when I came back from my walk my toe was hurting. Well, after sleeping all night, it was much better. But when I started to walk, it started to hurt so I decided not to stress it and drove there. I probably won't go out for my walk tonight.
Michele NC8 -
Sharon- he grins y laughs so thinks it hurts less than his. Guess I’m bugs bunny or the coyote
Carol- Really you can’t bring your own bags now? The plastic bags their using is making me feel less safe (we should use paper or washable cloth ones only in my opinion) . Here they have plastic bags only y I forgot my cloth ones in my 1 trip out but saw others with them still. Hubby won’t take the cloth ones wish he would tho.

Our commissary bans the use of using your own bags. Mostly because we have baggers, and they don't want to touch our bags. Personally I don't see the problem of putting out items on the belt, then pushing the cart thru and putting the item back into the cart to take to our car. Then we could use our own bags then. My husband said the baggers would get cut out of their tip. My thoughts is its a win win for the store because no one is touching my items except the cashier. Why should I be burdened with stupid plastic bags, when I have my own. Especially if I am willing to bag them. Crazy.
They also have a limit of 75 in the store. They regulate that by giving each person a cart. Their attempt to mandate social distancing. If you are pushing a cart around the cart automatically distances you from other shoppers. Its silly if there is two of you. I had to push an empty card around like a crazy person.
💖Rebecca5 -
Carol - yes, it will be interesting to see if I get any push-back bringing in my own basket. I've been shopping at these stores for years and know most of the cashiers by name so doubt anyone will call me on it.
Rebecca - interesting how the commissary limits the number of customers by doling out the carts. Seems like a good way to do it, actually. I agree - if you are bagging the items into your own bags, no one should complain! Understand about the tippers and not wanting to touch other people's bags, some of the Walmart cashiers have mentioned some pretty dirty ones come through - and that's just what they can see.
The Safeway this morning had "one-way" aisles yet everyone could congregate closely in the produce, deli and meat sections if they so desired. They shut down 2 of 4 self-checkouts because they were closer than 6' apart, yet folks with hand carts were ganging up to go thru them and so as not to impede other shoppers where the queues were long.
I give them credit for trying but it appears to be kind of pointless.
Got in a quick walk with neighbor D - No extra's joined. As long as we keep the times "spontaneous" we should be OK and if someone wants to join now and then we won't let it bother us.

Ours got rid of baggers. The baggers are now stockers. The cashier scans it goes to the bagging area the customer bags y goes. The cashier will bag for oldest only unless they have their own bags. This is what I saw at 1 store (I’ve only left home 1X in over a month),but hubby says that’s what he’s seeing at other stores too. But things change so fast now who knows. They put up sneeze guards who knows what the rules are now.

Hand washing clothing strikes me as meditative just like kneading bread.
My wonderful grocery store (the one with adequate supplies of nearly everything including toilet paper) has a sign as you come in that says "please leave your reusable bags in your car...we won't be using them". As much as I am a fanatic about reusing things and other environmentally friendly practices, I feel that it is a small concession to allowing checkers, baggers, and other customers to feel more safe. This is a very difficult time and I am privileged and fortunate enough already that I can concede on this particular practice. I have to shop alone since Jake is not allowed to leave the house since he is so high risk, so I can't deal with bagging along with everything else.
Jake is very tired today and he opted to not come out and work in the yard with me so I took the dogs out with me, left them inside the fence and pulled weeds along the outside of the fence while they watched. They like knowing where I am.

We've developed a routine of sitting on our south-facing 'catio' every morning. The weather has been delicious. The birds plentiful. Lots of neighbors are walking by and they often comment on seeing our cat, Mars sitting out with us.
Michele: Tell Vince I hope he gets well and comes home soon. Here's a picture of Mars I hope will make him smile.
All good here. Count me among the ones who is blessed to have experienced very little disruption due to the pandemic. We have plenty of everything, and I am eating alot of it. 🙄 Uh oh....
DH has been mellow this week, but dear brother has continued to stay at a nearby hotel. His anxiety is keeping him from sleeping. Says he will be back home tomorrow, and I do look forward to having his company again. The break in routine might set off DH's dementia rants, but who ever knows with this horrible condition. I choose to stay in the NOW which is simple, sweet and abundantly blessed. My other binge has been a couple hours a night of "This is Us". Loving it!!!!!
Here's to staying well. We can do this.
