Hello everyone.
Yesterday was a little stressful. I had to get some much required reports/statuses completed for one of our major partners for the monies provided to us for promotions last quarter. After completing everything on Tuesday the BDM (Business Development Manager) proceeded to let me know portions of the plan changed. I love him and we work very well together. But, he has ADHD and he is like herding a clowder. I get things in pieces and it is like putting a puzzle together. And, every quarter I tell him the same thing - we must get organized with this stuff, you have to keep me in the loop, just copy me on everything regarding the plans, etc.. I wish I could dislike him but it is impossible. He really does appreciate me as well as I appreciate him and he is the one of the people I can be completely honest with without a filter. This quarter I am changing my game plan - I will be sure to touch base with him three weeks prior to the quarter ending to confirm the "final final" plan. One of the yoga lessons I have learned is it is not what the person says/does, it is how we react to it.
SuziQ - SFL
SuziQ Thanks for sharing this story and the lesson you learned from it. It has always helped me to see what I can change to make a situation better than to rail about their shortcomings.

And this is similar to our Gratitude Calendar that we've done in Novembers.
Coping Calendar: Keep Calm. Stay Wise. Be Kind.1. Make a plan to help you keep calm and stay in contact.
Part of my plan is to stay home more days each week. I'm getting stuff done, spending time with my husband, and avoiding the crowds.
Today I'm particularly happy because I've been able to spend the whole day at home getting a bit of extra rest, listening to classical music on ABC, and working on my uni homework while my husband has been busy doing stuff in the kitchen.
In a hour and a half or so, I'll go downstairs to exercise. We would go outside, but it has been a rainy day so we've been cozy inside.
2. Enjoy washing your hands. Remember all they do for you.
They do a lot of typing ...which reminds me that I should also wipe down my keyboard more regularly. But I do actually like washing my hands. With my hot flashes, and with exercise, my hands are often quite damp. Washing with soap dries them up a little.
Last weekend I also did my nails with 5 different pastel colours of gel nailpolish.
3. Write down 10 things you feel grateful for and why.
10 Things
1. My comfortable home with its garden and view of the bay.
2. My husband and the fact that, despite the severity of his brain injury, he has made a "remarkable recovery".
3. The support of my parents even over long distances.
4. University ... which is keeping me occupied.
5. Work ... which is keeping me occupied.
6. Cycling ... which keeps me fit.
7. Music ... which I've been listening to a lot.
8. Internet ... with which I keep connected.
9. New audio visual system which is keeping us entertained.
10. God ... who is still in control.
4. Stay hydrated, eat healthy food, and boost your immune system.
I have to drink a lot of water to keep my kidneys in good shape. I do try to eat a fairly healthy diet as well.
5. Get active. Even if you're stuck indoors, move and stretch.
Absolutely!! Every day! On that note, I'm up to 352 flights of stairs in March. Each flight is 20 stairs.
6. Contact a neighbour or friend and offer to help them.
We don't see much of our neighbours, but do kind of watch out for one.
And right now my work colleagues (and friends) and I are helping each other move home.
7. Share what you are feeling and be willing to ask for help.
What am I feeling. It's a real mix. I'm happy I'm working from home and taking uni online. But this week I've been fighting back tears from time to time. Moving home made it real.
Our lives have changed and the changes will keep coming for months ahead.
Also, the beginning of the week (Mar 22) was the 2-year anniversary of my husband's accident so ... memories.
8. Take 5 minutes to sit and breathe. Repeat regularly.
I'll do that tomorrow, I think.
It's Friday night and this week has been a little overwhelming. Last weekend I was madly working on an assignment. Submitted it on Monday + intense week at work.
A good night's sleep and I'll be able to breathe a little bit more in the morning.
9. Call a loved one to catch up and really listen to them.
I'm not good at calling people ... a little bit of a phone phobia. But I email lots!
March 30
10. Get good sleep. No screens?? Well some nights I read a paper book. I am working on getting more sleep and better sleep, but lately I've been tense at night again.
March 31
11. Notice 5 things that are beautiful in the world around me. That's easy!!- Rhody
- Roses ... and BTW, Rhody is the Greek word for Rose
- The beach
- The waves crashing against the rocks
- Green ... nature
April 1
12. Immerse yourself in a new book, TV show or podcast.
I don't do podcasts and the TV shows I watch are "old" ... but I have started a new-to-me book.
April 2
13. Respond positively to everyone you interact with.
Today has been a good day for that. We nipped out to get a few things this afternoon and talked pleasantly to the checkout people.
April 3
14. Play a game that you enjoyed when you were younger.
I haven't done this yet, but I think I will pause and play some majong shortly.
I did go cycling yesterday and that's been a game I've enjoyed for ages.
April 4
15. Make some progress on a project that matters to you.
I have done some of this, in a way. Today I've been tidying, organising and cleaning. My home office area (in the dining room) looks a lot better (not quite so cluttered) and I've cleared a spot so that Rhody can sit beside me.
I've been busy catching up on a lot of things so I can start my week a little more prepared.
April 5
16. Discover your favourite music that really lifts your spirits.
I have been listening to ABC Classic during the day most days and have been enjoying it. It's interesting, varied and relaxing.
April 6
17. Learn something new or do something creative.
Well ... my courses. I'll be working on one of them this evening.
April 7
18. Fun way of doing an extra 15 min of activity? Does walking up and down the hallway tossing a purple mouse for my kitty each evening count?
April 8
19. Three acts of kindness? Smiling and being kind to sales people. Chatting to them briefly in a normal friendly way. Waving and saying hi to people walking on the other side of the street. Trying not to stress my husband out.
April 9
20. Make time for myself. Do something kind for myself. Exercise maybe? I'm having trouble with this one.

There's so little moisture here that the snow behaves like sand. I don't shovel it off our landing: I sweep it off. We don't have to scrape frost off our car windows: the windshield wipers brush them clean in two sweeps. It's only about once or twice a year we get snow that can be used to make snowballs or snowmen.
We've already had our ration of snowman snow for this winter. The neighborhood kids made these a couple weeks ago. Although you can't see it, the bunny on top of the doghouse originally had pink ears and nose and a yellow belly. A dusting of new snow has fallen since then, and a lot of snow has sublimated (that is, evaporated without melting first).

Yes that Moron was trying to get grocery stores closed down he wants all essentials closed too. Some folks are terrible sad part it worked on scaring some even more to be too scared to get food! Yes workers had Covid but with the social distancing has worked for keeping the customers safe...we swipe our cards,no baggers, no cash, they stand far apart, now sneeze shields, sanitizer they used in between each customer,y gloves - but they use the same worker toilets y break rooms so wouldn’t be surprised if that’s how they spread it.

Finally slept. Daughter said her room separate from the cases she will step up cleaning since The virus is on base2 -
I think there must be a certain degree of stress about the whole situation which is seeping into my subconscious.
The last couple nights I've had odd dreams. I'm usually quite a vivid dreamer, so that's normal. But the content ...
Two nights ago, I dreamed that just as COVID-19 stuff was easing up a little bit, my husband and I did something completely out of character for ourselves ... we booked a cruise!! Cruises are not "us", so that part was a bit odd, and to do it just at the tail end of the virus was even stranger, given the disasters cruise ships have been. Plus it was a small cruise ship which wouldn't really appeal to me ... more chance of feeling the movement of the ship in heavy seas. Now in the dream, one reason why we did this very strange thing was because we figured there would be hardly anyone on this cruise. But we were wrong. It was absolutely packed with people. And sure enough ... the virus started to spread through the passengers on the cruise ship!!!
That's where I woke up ... they were taking 2 of the passengers off and the rest of us wanted off too because we knew there was a storm coming and none of us wanted to stay on board.
Last night I dreamed that everywhere I went, there were massive crowds of people. I just wanted to get a few things from the shops, but there were so many people ... I wanted to go for a walk, but crowds everywhere ... the bus, same thing.
At some point I managed to squeeze my way through the crowds and get into work, only to find that we were all saying "good bye" to each other and this one and that one just faded away.
Hoping for dreams of happier times tonight.
Meanwhile, my Easter break has begun although who would know the difference?? I've got so much to do, I can't just relax and enjoy my home time. I'd actually like to clean a bit more but all I can manage are a quick little clean here or there.

I've never felt as cold as during the months we spent in Norwich, England - even though the temperature never went anywhere near freezing.
Ha! That reminds me of a Mark Twain quote that goes something like; "The coldest winter I've ever experienced was a summer in San Francisco."
I love the pictures of Norway!
I share your concern for Sweden and the US. I will also add the UK. And I miss Mexico so much, even though we were just there in December. Sometimes I begin to fear that we will never be able to go again, but I know that is ridiculous. This will pass.
It was 70 here yesterday, so I did my afternoon meeting from my back porch. During the meeting, my dog decided to do his business in the background. One of the participants said, Oh, what a cute dog . . . oh my. We all laughed, and I held my hand up to block the view until he was finished.
It's supposed to be 75 here today. I am so thankful for the sun and the warmth. There were a lot of people out walking, running, and bike riding yesterday.
Much love,
Flea

Machka: Thanks for posting the coping calendar. I have it printed and taped to my desk. This is call a loved one day. I like it. I hope to chat with my kids via phone or texts. I’ve had good contact with them thanks to telephone, facetime and txt. :flowerforyou:
Felicia: Today I plan to walk the dog down to the end of the road where there is an off-leash dog park. I’m hoping to soak up some of nature’s Vitamin 3D in order to boost the D3 I swallow in pill form.
I’m happy this morning. We have a “bright sunshiney day” and the song is running in my head. Thank you, Jimmy Cliff.

Penny - The kale is just an accompaniment to the chicken dish. It doesn't go in it, but I thought the sourness of the lemon dish would compliment the slightly bitter kale.
Do you have preserved lemons where you live? You can make your own at home, but, when I did, they went 'off' more quickly than the commercial ones. It's a Moroccan recipe. You also need saffron.
If you can get those ingredients I'll write out the recipe.
The supermarket trip was fine. Good distancing etc. Only one person in and out. I used my own trolley and wore gloves and a light raincoat. Huge sunglasses.
I got pears for DH to stew. Lots of veg, salad, strawberries, fish. Freshly baked bagels. OK now for Easter.

We've had a situation already. When I let the dogs out first thing, I saw something amiss in backyard, i called hubby and he immediately said someone broke into my shop. Our little farm vehicle was taken and about $2,000 in tools. Police won't come due to virus. I wont derail but it sickens me inside. I'll smile in spite of it and get my workout in soon.
That pic is of a new vehicle like the stolen one, ours was very "well used".

JanetR- how horrible grrr... I hope karma takes care of them... we have wind, rain and thunderstorm today..
We had one gentleman pass from the virus. And we have another lady they sent home from the nursing home.. which has the virus..
And as it is a 55 and over complex there really is no protocol on what to do. Everyone is just sort of ignoring it all.
The lady that is home from.nursing home has a high fever and her idiot family basically ignore her.. the health department has told them they need to get a caregiver in for her. But they rely on the people here and could give a rat's patootie about her.. so if something happens to her that would be 2 in a month in the same building..it is rediculous...7 -
Find Waldo lol
We had thefts here a lot we even moved over it ..that y a bad landlord was the last straw for us. Now tho most theives may be out of work desperate to pay rent but food. If it’s just a criminal who steals all the time before y after the virus we can only hope his next house is a cops!
Machka- Lol 😂 sounds like my dreams I dreamed I was in Wuhan shopping 🛒 for groceries y Daughter was even there y JR y hubby. Weird dreams it’s the mind sorting out all the overload of information we’re having to gather to keep our families safe!
Outside playing with JR it’s humid but airing out the house is important.

My life seems a bit on hold these days. It is windy, and 50's so a walk won't be fun. I have 6 letters to answer, and I feel like there's nothing to write about except me a' whinin! *sighes*
I texted my middle sister, and she wrote about what a fun day she had with her grand daughter's 6th birthday. All of her friends drive by the house, got cake, and sang to her. Even her teacher drive by, so sweet. When I texted her I was at a low point. What depressed me was that she never asked how I was doing. I know, she's not a mind reader, but still, family does that sort of thing. You ask about each other's life. My sister's empathy button has broke, and the drinking, and smoking pot did it. I guess what I need to do is contact my older sister for that. We all need to go to the people in our lives that give us strength.

Well, went to Aldi. They’re supposed to only let 60 people in the store, but even counting the workers, I don’t think there were 60 in the store. Well, no big deal. They also had the aisles marked for going only in one direction. I would like to see them always do this. There were a lot of people bagging their items outside. I did get what I needed for Easter and decided that anything else can wait until next week. Then we went to the Post Office and Vince needed more boxes so we had to go to uHaul. Very windy today so I will probably work some on the things downstairs.
Shhh—so far the pump to the pool is doing well. It ran for almost 6 hours yesterday and not a problem. Let’s hope it continues this way. I want that pool to be ready asap. Got my float out of the pool shed yesterday and will probably work on blowing it up when it’s not so breezy.
Janetr – what a horrible thing to have happen to you!

Heather: My favorite member of the kale/cabbage family is broccoli. I’ve loved it since childhood. DH can no longer eat the stems, but he can eat the dark green tops.
(((Kate UK))) I am sorry that your neighbor is dying but happy that her grandkids were as close by as safety allows.
Janetr: I’m so sorry about the theft of your tools and little farm vehicle. I hope you’re insured and the thieves are caught. :grumble::
Rita: Your clothes line is functional. What more could you ask?
Allie: I’m sorry for the lady who was sent home alone without support from her family. Could masked neighbors visit through an open door to the hallway?
Amber: Thanks for the entertainment.
I’m hoping to entice DH to go out for a walk in the neighborhood. He has a mobility device that is able to go .

Kate UK - I'm with you. The person is dying, and not from the virus. The grandkids should be allowed inside with social distancing from each other. There is no risk to the person as they are dying anyway! Just from each other. Some rules are just crazy. Gathering outside sounds like more of a risk!
I also can't wait for a reliable antibody test. At the moment my friend, who has had it, can't go to see her sister, or travel to Portsmouth to her other apartment. Her sister is recovering from a back operation and is in pain. She would be the perfect person to help. Unfortunately there are no really good tests yet and we need a fraud proof certification process. Right now she has to stay at home and drive herself nuts. I have two friends in that position. It makes no sense.
My preserved lemon chicken was heaven.
Watching a repeat of Lewis tonight.

When I went to grocery at 6 this morning noticed a police car parked outside of the store. Didn't surprise me. It is windy and a wintery mix is falling. A good day for a nap.
(Janetr) so sorry that happened to you.
One of my choir members has both parents stricken with COVID. Dad is particularly bad. So it is becoming more real how serious it is.
Spent morning trying to straighten our an overcharge from Best Buy. I think it is going to get straightened out now. It had to do with trying to get the son who just got out of the hospital and updated computer. My charge card company wanted me to deal with Best Buy Directly. They no longer deal with disputes over the phone or in person because of the crisis. The only take curb side returns. Unfortunately this had to do with something I already returned and it was not processed correctly. I relayed that to may charge card and I believe it will now be resolved.
Did have a pleasant walk and lunch with son.
