I feel like I’m between a rock and a hard place. I got masks from a neighbor for DS and DDIL. Now my daughter wants them and my friend is tired and not feeling well. I am feeling frustrated.

I've heard people say that there are many masks for sale on Etsy. Perhaps your daughter could order some from there, or you could and ship them to her. I haven't looked personally, so I can't confirm that they are out there, but several people have told me that there are many people selling them for $7-$10 each (at the low end).
Hubs and I are going the no sew bandana and ponytail holder route.

[/b]Introvert/extrovert
Seems like we are half and half on this thread. Me, I’m an introvert so CoVid works in my favor. I’m perfectly happy wandering around alone with my camera and dogs. Or sitting outside reading or playing with my electronics.
laundry
Since we live in an RV and do not have a washer/dryer, I’ve gone back to hand washing clothes in a bucket and hanging to dry. No laundry mat to stay away from people. It is surprisingly calming to me when I do it. Speaking of which, I am doing my sheets today....
Pics of the day: me going to store for essentials yesterday, then getting stuck at train tracks where train actually stopped in front of me with a car right on my tail! Thankfully train backed up off the crossings eventually.

Luci: Unlike you I didn't have any French until high school which was in excess of 40 years ago. I'm certainly proving the old saw true that "if you don't use it you lose it" Apparently you still have it!
I came across this poem thought I'd share -it seems very appropriate:
“And the people stayed home.
And read books, and listened, and rested,
and exercised, and made art, and played games,
and learned new ways of being,
and were still.
And listened more deeply.
Some meditated, some prayed,
some danced.
Some met their shadows.
And the people began to think differently.
And the people healed.
And, in the absence of people
living in ignorant, dangerous, mindless,
and heartless ways, the earth began to heal.
And when the danger passed,
and the people joined together again,
they grieved their losses,
and made new choices,
and dreamed new images,
and created new ways to live
and heal the earth fully,
as they had been healed.”

Yes, there were several sellers that had plenty of masks when I looked on Etsy yesterday afternoon. $7 to $10. My hat is off to anyone who can make these in quantity to sell. I figure I have $20 each just in time alone with the few I threw together yesterday and this morning.

Funniesone I took the Spanish joke off but the young man it said He is first to go because he wore his mask wrong lol 😂 he wearing panties lol 😆.
Time for the young to learn simple sewing 🧵 skills make theirselves masks. I learned young simple stitch (wish I knew sewing machines but couldn’t figure it out). I learned because Dad who knew upholstery to farm medical had no time to sew stuff for awhile I had to learn to keep the family going I wasn’t even a preteen yet!

Okie: Thanks for the tip. I think DD and family are okay. My husband pointed out a photo they sent which includes a giant grocery bag full of masks. I feel like the pressure has eased.
Cary: Thanks for sharing the wonderful poem. :flowerforyoyu:
Amber: I love the photos!!!! You put a big smile on my face.
My plans for today include walking the dog to the end of the road and back, and reading. I might chat with a neighbor if they're outside and a suitable distance away.

Barbie – when we bought our freezer Vince asked me if I wanted a big one. We didn’t have one before and now that the kids are moved out, I didn’t think I needed it. Now I wish I’d gotten the bigger one, especially for when things are on sale
You know, in some ways I think Aldi is doing a major disservice. They advertise things on sale with a minimum saying that the price is in the store. Then, when you go to the store, it’s the regular price. This just makes people want to go out to see what it is, even if those people don’t need to go out.
Rita – oh, I’m definitely an extrovert so I’m going stir crazy. Unfortunately, many times I’m taking that out on Vince
Carey – thanks for that very insightful poem
Cleaned the railing on our deck then washed my car. Letting it cool and I’ll wax it in the garage.

As soon as the Governor of Washington told us to stay home, we made some firm rules for ourselves. Jake goes nowhere farther than the mailbox across the street and only if no one else is there. I can walk in our very uncrowded neighborhood staying at least six feet away from anyone I walk with or encounter. I don't pet other people's dogs and no one we encounter pets our dogs. I can go out for very limited essential shopping with a well planned list wearing gloves and stripping off clothing when I get home and putting it in the washer before I leave the laundry room then showering and washing my hair. No one is allowed in our house except the one friend who has been in our house to walk the dogs every morning for several years. No one else is allowed in our house and if anyone asks to come in they are told to stay out. These are unbreakable rules and they have helped us feel safe.13

SuzieQ - My DH was saying something similar about the weather yesterday except in our case it's 3 days of nice, pleasant temps then back to the cold again for the weekend . They're actually saying we may get frost! Not what we want to hear for the weekend, especially since going out is so limited right now. But the basement and garage aren't going to clean themselves out so we've at least got something to do.
We've had a small chest freezer in our basement for years (one of those things that needs to go). We've not used it in quite a while, partly because it doesn't work , but also we just stopped buying things in bulk as the kids got older. Now I wish we had one. We can get quite a bit in our regular freezer, but it's emptying out faster than I would like. I had hoped to get through at least 2 weeks without having to go to the store. I'll probably just go up to the small organic store, it's only about 1.5 miles away and I can get in and out pretty quick. Things are a bit more expensive there but I feel like it's worth it to not have to go to the bigger stores where everyone else is.
Time to find something for dinner. I'd like to grill tonight since the temps will be dropping so much the next few days - will have to see how DH feels when he gets home.
Stay safe and well!

On here very intermittently at the moment as I’m making masks, and working on our Memoirs Project for grandson
I’m up to page 24. Loving all the photos.
Prayers and good wishes for those who are ill or have sick relatives. We live in trying times. I’m finding that it helps to keep busy.
We’re exploring our neighbourhood as we look for variety in our daily walks. Today and Monday we walked out into the nearby country lanes in the April sunshine.
We went out at 7.45am for essentials, in and out as quickly as possible. Our grocery store is quite disciplined with a one way system, and marking on the floor to assist with social distancing.
All in all, things aren’t so bad, and I’m sticking to my goals.
It’s just simpler that way.

This made me chuckle. Spoiled it because it does contain bad language.

Just found out family friend has died from CV She worked in a hospital, not a nurse but dealing with the discharge of patients. She was on her fifties. DH said this is really scary, brings it home.
Keep safe everyone

Made it through another day. I am grateful for the sunshine and short sleeves. The sweatshirt goes back on tomorrow! Today I told a customer I just wanted to take of my shoes, socks, and shirt (then realized what I said-oops) I just wanted to play barefooted in the warmth! Made us both laugh😀
Worked on paperwork until 1030 last night and again for an hour this morning. I have some to work on now, but was enjoying the last of the sun(yes, without shoes or socks!) Dinners have been simple. I am thankful my husband likes breakfast for dinner. We had French toast with wheat bread. He uses syrup. I use powdered sugar and butter.
The air fried chicken breasts are by tyson in our frozen foods section.
I love the funnies! Keep them coming!
I am half introvert, half extrovert. I require down time! I don't like crowds at all. I love talking to most people. When my husband was going away for hunting, there were weekends that no one heard from me the whole time.
Aubrey! She got her GI tube out this week! No tubes! No cords! Just a happy daddy's girl! She loves music and books, but daddy most.
I think I will go set up the coffee pot for the morning and curl up with a magazine. Paperwork can wait til morning!
Sleep well!😙

Kate I am so very sorry for the loss of your friend! Way too young!
DH has fallen a couple of times in the past week. Scary for me – he is a big guy and watching 6’4” fall to the ground is quite shocking. Fortunately, nothing broken. I am used to being the weaker one of the two of us, so seeing him having difficulty is very odd for me after all of these years!
Rebecca I like the short hair! I am still loving that I had all mine cut off. It is so nice having it dry in just a couple of minutes!
Machka Very sad news about the hospital. Unfortunately, it seems to spread like wildfire in some places. Our first deaths here were in a nursing home where there is a large group of people testing positive. It just takes that one person who may be asymptomatic to start giving it to everyone else. ☹
TMIIt is getting nerve-wracking that there is still no toilet paper. Having IBS is not conducive to having no paper. ☹ The washable ones I purchased never came, and the others I ordered have been delayed. Sigh! I have such 1st world problems! LOL
Karen I love the song needing haircut. Is that you?? Beautiful voice!!
Pip WA Nice pic of you and Yogi by the fire! Great pictures of the dogs!
Welcome NE, Pip!
Lisa Your job must be difficult at this time. I imagine anyone trying to collect funding is having a difficult time right now with all the focus of the world on the pandemic. Hopefully, this will not last too long and life will get into the new normal where people will be concerned with those girls again.
Carey I love the poem! Would be wonderful if that is the result of all of this!
to All! Stay Safe and Healthy! Luci in WNC
