@mbaker566 - oh he is adorable! Looks so happy! It is a good thing I don't foster I would want to keep them all and end up with way too many! Ya know he would be a perfect (opposites) match for Speed Demon!

Yay! Hit my goal today and it was an awesome run! I PR’d this route and I think today I had the fastest average pace I’ve had on a run all year.

    Way to go!

    Great job @Shortgirlrunning !

@mbaker566 Cute foster. I don't think I could foster either @shanaber . Like you, I would want to keep them all.

Sounds like you are doing great @Camaramandy648 . Yeah for being at the top of the list for now.

Great speed on your birthday run @hamsterwheel6 ! Hope you had a great rest of your day!

Today was an odd day. I sort of had it planned out, but that went out the window. I have noticed lately that I am getting really grumpy when things don't go my way. I need to figure out how to deal a little better. Mom and dad are noticing too. Yikes. I thought I was hiding it better.

Anyway, I got some paperwork ready and took for my cousin to sign, and then faxed them to the VA. Hopefully that will get him some extra money to help pay for the assisted living. When I got home, my parents and a neighbor were cutting down some dead trees along the edge of my driveway. That needed to be done, and I'm grateful, but it wasn't something I had planned on happening today. So, I came home, ate a small lunch, and went down to help them finish up what they were going to do today.

By then, it was 3:30, 81°F, with 70% humidity. I knew if I didn't go ahead and get my run in, I wouldn't do it. Since it was hot and humid, I decided to just do 30 minutes at an easy pace. It was slow, but at least I did something. I ran 2.25 miles and walked 1.25.

You've had a lot of curve balls thrown your way lately. Give yourself some slack and take some deep breathes when all else fails!

Ending June just short of my running goal of 50 miles - got 48. If I count walking miles I got 95. So, considering my knee has been forcing me to cut back, not too bad. I did respectably on the 2 week run for my timed mile and on the 5k.

Tomorrow is the final run for the timed mile challenge and I expect it to be pretty dismal. The weather is supposed to be similar to today but slightly warmer and wetter, and today when I stepped outside at dawn it was like stepping into a bathtub - warm and wet. I don’t foresee setting a PR in these conditions, especially since I haven’t been training due to the sore knee! However, thanks to needing to get some chores done, I have had several days off, so my knee will be as good as it can be. We’ll just have to see!

Hi everyone! I'm happy to announce you that I completed my challenge today and it was amazing.

I couldn't believe I was running that much after months of inactivity. I was surprised I reached my original goal of 90km/56mi, I had to count my km's again to see if I wasn't mistaken. Next month I'll just pick 90kms as goal and try to beat it.

    YAY!!! Congrats!

otal 96km of 75km for June

Alas, I've been very lax at checking in. But not so lax in actually doing the running, thankfully. I've smashed it for June!

    Well done!!!

@katharmonic Great job on getting your run in in the heat of the day. Love the deer picture. I'm surprised it didn't run away.

@Tramboman Glad your back is better.

Thanks @Teresa502 . I really thought I had taken those deep breaths and was fine with the changes to yesterday, so was surprised when mom and dad mentioned it. I think once I get my cousin settled in the assisted living in a couple of weeks things will calm down. At least that is my hope.

Congratulations to everyone who met their goals this month! Hugs to those who had issues that prevented you from running as much as planned.

    124.61/100 miles completed for June

687.83/1000 miles for Run the Year Team Pavement Pounders

I ran 6.6 miles this morning to finish out June over my goal of 100 miles and just hitting my stretch goal of 200 KM. I felt really good about the run too. When I got up this morning at 5 am my weather app said it was 80°F feels like 85°F with 95% humidity and a dew point of 77°. So I was expecting a hot and sweaty run and that is definitely what I got. The wind was about 14 mph which was sort of nice and sort of too much at the same time. I tried not to worry about my pace and ended up with an average pace of 10:53/mi. I like to keep my runs under 11/mi so I was happy with that. I ran through some water sprinklers at the court house. The only problem with that was I was only a little over 1 mile into my run. But I carried water with me and stopped for a drink around 4 miles and poured some on the back of my neck and that helped too. I didn't see any bunnies today, but I did see a deer. The weather should be about the same for the rest of the week. Hopefully my runs will be nice in spite of it. Congrats to all who met their June goals and if you didn't, that's ok there is always July!

I fell short of my goal by about 6 miles. My midwife told me it was time to stop and go down to walking.
The not being able to run or lift has gotten me pretty depressed. I don't know if its the sudden lack of exercise endorphins or what. I know I could be outside walking but I just can't motivate myself to. The heat/humidity doesn't help. It's just...not the same. I come home from work and I have absolutely no motivation. All I want to do is curl into a ball and sleep :(

I remember when I didn't want to do something good for me, I'd tell myself I was doing it for the baby. So, take that baby out for a walk, show him/her all the world and let him/her hear the birdies sing. Take every moment you have with that little one.

    Absolutely!!!!!

@quilteryoyo hang in there! You've had a lot of stressful things to deal with. Hopefully it will calm down. Good job getting a run/walk done. That always helps me, even if it's not a great one.

@tramboman good to hear your back is doing better!

@brittanystebbins95 you did a great job running this month. Give yourself a huge break, and hope you can enjoy some walking and relaxing now.

@kgirlhart good job on your run this morning and meeting your monthly goal!

@coolblackcat and @hmaddpear congrats on a great month of running to both of you! See you in the July thread.

Finished up June with another 3-miler (ish). I just beat out the rain, which was almost too bad because it felt good when it started sprinkling right at the end. If I had known I was going to be at 124.5 I would have gone for that extra .5 miles to get to 125.

I exceeded my conservative goal of 120 miles for June. I also had 95 miles walking, so total mileage of 219. Quite a bit down from last month, but that was an anomaly.

I'm at 732 miles for the year running and 1067 total for running and walking. Not bad at the halfway point of the year.

@kgirlhart Glad you had a nice run, despite those conditions. Great job on hitting your stretch goal for the month!

@katharmonic Too bad you didn't get rained on. Great job in exceeding your goal and excellent numbers for the year so far.
