06/06 -194.3 (lots of salty foods yesterday)
06/07 - 193.5 (tons of yardwork yesterday, and an alcoholic beverage with dinner!)
06/08 - 194.5 (I was over my sodium goal by 680 mg and it shows. I've always known I'm sensitive to salt, but dang! I feel like I'm ready to pop today.)
06/09 - 193.7 (ah, much better. Decreased my sodium, ate within my calories for the day, good amount of water).
06/10 -192.4 (big loss from yesterday, not sure if it'll be mine to keep or not. But - yesterday was a great day! Good choices all day, 2 mile walk/run, and ate within my calories for the day. Plus it was my first weekday kid free since March, THAT is pretty amazing in and of itself.)
06/11 -193.3 (eh, too good to be true yesterday. I'm okay with that honestly. I overindulged in some cookies- and tracked it- for no good reason. Okay choices the rest of the day, decreased physical activity since it was hot and humid out.)
06/12 193.3 (this is the end of my "week" for weigh-ins Friday to Friday. I'm not sure how I feel about being the same as where I started a week ago. I've completed several outside workouts and I've tracked what I've been eating. This is key for sure. I'm happy for the insights I'm gaining with MFP vs WW, and daily weighing makes more sense to me now than it did previously. I'm still holding out hope that I'll finish this round strong!)

06/06 - 146.5 - We had a small family get together last night on our patio for my husband's birthday. We had Mexican food and watermelon margaritas. I expect it to really catch up with me tomorrow, but it was worth it. I'll just have to be really mindful for the remainder of this round.

06/12 - 144.5 - I think my scale got "stuck" at this number this morning. It looks great but I doubt it's valid. We have another small family patio party at my step-daughter's tonight, so either way I expect to be up tomorrow. I am happy though, that I managed to trend my weight back downward this week.

My goals for the round -- lose 2 pounds; continue to log food and post every day; focus on snacking control at night. Also, continue to log steps -- I decided on May 18 to walk a million steps before the end of July (70 days.) I am currently a full day off the pace due to a minor foot injury 10 days ago.

06/06 229.4; steps 8264, fell asleep sitting up on the sofa instead of taking a walk. I think we were watching the Great British Baking Show when I crashed. It's always about food with me! Anyway, will try to start making up the lost steps this week. Foot hasn't healed which is a potential problem for a diabetic but it is slowly moving in the right direction. I am looking forward to this round, hope to leave the 230s far in the rear view mirror this month.
06/07 - 6/10 out of town / funeral / road food / relatives' food
06/11 I'm back you lucky devils! Weight 228.4. Not sure how that happened because there hasn't been a healthy meal in days. Let's see what I can salvage of my momentum. Enjoy the day!
06/12 228.6. Blood sugar fine, food was under target, steps were okay (12792) so this is acceptable for the first day back. Looking forward to the weekend -- We need a break, even though it has been a short work week for me!

6/8- 153.4 I did a huge 9 mile hike with 5000' of elevation gain in the smokies this saturday, but I ate like a pig all weekend. Just going to track carefully until it comes back off. Plan on drinking a ton today.
6/9- 154 Sigh. Really? I've seen this before after a super busy weekend. Being patient. Off to track.
6/10- 153.6 It would be nice if it dropped off a bit quicker, but I know how this goes. This is a lifestyle. Repeating this mantra to myself.

Day/Weight/Comment
06/06 158.4 lbs Had a couple beers and some chips around the campfire, really put me over.
06/07 157.0lbs, rained not much exercise, practiced free motion quilting
06/08 158.8 lbs, farmers had to stop seeding for the rain, so the neighborhood crew got together like we did last winter for pizza and beer on Sunday evenings, so gain is expected.
06/09 156.2 lbs, Graduation this Saturday finally, so doing some staging and decorating. Expecting 30 mph sustained wind that day from the only direction my yard doesn't have many trees. But hoping we can mostly stay outside. I have a lot of last minute clean up out there due to living by a wild life refuge, we have lots of birds in our trees and they leave there presents everywhere, especially anywhere the dog is.
06/10 157. 6 lbs I didn't think that dramatic loss would stay. I should probably rethink my goal for this round because after all this house cleaning and food prep for graduation, I am taking a day off of the diet and sampling.
06/11 156.6 lbs Today is bar making for graduation and a trip to town with the gals to pick up sheet cake and buns. Potentially not a good day for a diet, but will try.

About me: I love learning about food and everything about it; from the way it acts in the body to learning to cook a new recipe. I went to school for nutrition (got my bachelor's) but I didn’t become an RD because it didn’t feel like the path for me. I guess I wanted to keep it as more of an interest instead of a career. I then went into public health to further my education and I currently help medically complex patients by connecting them with community resources to improve their health and life. I enjoy helping family and friends when they ask for advice related to food and nutrition. Plus, it helps me brush up on what I spent so much time learning!
I’m here because when I’m not paying attention to what I eat, I start to gain and feel uncomfortable in my body. For me that results in frustration and a lot of other emotions. It has also increased my cholesterol in the past (It’s good now as far as I know thanks to diet and exercise). I have a family history of diabetes, heart disease, and all that fun stuff. So, I want to prevent that for myself by getting a hold of my food habits now.
I’m always open to conversation about food and nutrition, so feel to reach out to me!
06/06 120.0 This makes sense because I did an intense workout yesterday and I have some soreness today. So, it’s just the water retention as my muscles heal.
I just made really yummy summer rolls with brown rice spring roll wrappers, cilantro, leftover ground turkey [seasoned with ginger, garlic, fish sauce, soy sauce and lime juice], yellow bell pepper, shredded cabbage and baby greens. Then, I dipped them in a peanut sauce I made with 1 tbs peanut butter, ½ tbs rice vinegar, 2-3 tsps coconut aminos, 1 tsp toasted sesame oil, dash of garlic powder, ¼ tsp honey and 1 tsp grated ginger (I used the frozen ginger cubes). I could legit just eat the sauce and be a happy camper but mixed with the summer rolls it was really good too.
I plan on having a bit of a rest day for my Saturday and just enjoy lounging around. I’ll eventually do some chores, but we’ll see how I feel about that. Happy weekend all!
06/07 119.2 Yesterday was a wonderful lazy day where I was able to stay on point with food as well. I lounged around but also created an Excel database of all the recipes I want to cook from my cookbooks. I’m trying to prepare for the Fruit and Veggie CSA that starts on Monday for us. I want to make sure nothing is wasted, so I wanted to have a source of all the recipes I’ve been wanting to make for a while. I’m very excited about the document and hope it helps me meal plan all this produce we’ll be getting.
My plan for today is to make a batch of raspberry beet baked oatmeal to use up some milk we have in the fridge. I haven’t tried this recipe yet, so it’ll be interesting to see how it comes out. Then, I’ll be able to have it for my breakfasts this week too.
Also, I had a non-scale victory of realizing how much my body has changed over the past few months when looking at before and after pictures. I’m down 7 pounds and I’m really starting to feel awesome about the progress I’ve made so far. My muscles are getting stronger and it’s so nice to visibly see the hard work put into the process. On that note, have a beautiful Sunday!
06/08 119.2 Yesterday was a good day food wise and I moved around a bit more doing laundry and chores. I decided to take the weekend off for intentional exercise because I was just feeling a little tired. I feel it’s better to listen to the body than push it and overdo it. This morning I did another solid soccer workout this morning with my father in law.
Today will be a good one food wise because I made that beet raspberry baked oatmeal, so that’ll be my breakfast with a halfish cup of skyrr and some maple syrup drizzled on top. Not sure what dinner will be… most likely something with the fresh produce we’re picking up later today 😊
06/09 119.2 We went for a great 5 mile walk this morning. I also squeezed in a mini body weight workout consisting of push ups and body weight squats. Last night’s dinner was really good. I made a strip steak that my husband and I split because it was 1 pound total. For sides I cooked some baby kale that we had and made some oven fries (using up some potatoes we’ve had for a bit). The CSA pick up was super exciting and I’ll have to find some recipes to use all of the greens we got. We got spinach, Ethiopian kale, sorrel, and baby lettuce. I’ve never cooked with sorrel or Ethiopian kale. The Ethiopian kale has a bit of a mustard/spicier/bitter kick to it. It’ll be fun to see how it comes out. Some other fruits and veggies we got were a cucumber, radishes, potatoes (purple and a white one), cherry tomatoes, strawberries, and apples. Eeeeek I’m so excited about all the produce! 😊
Non scale victory for yesterday was only eating 2/3 of an Everbar (dark chocolately wafer bar) because I felt satisfied and figured I could just save it for tomorrow. By mapping out my dinner calories I knew by eating the bar it was going to be close too, so that was also a motivating factor to stop eating it once I felt satisfied. So it left me with an extra 60 calories in the bank for my dinner.
Not sure what’s on the agenda for dinner tonight but maybe turkey tips?
06/10 119.2 My father in law and I did another killer soccer workout this morning. Lots of sprinting involved and high heart rate levels resulting in an awesome burn and a really good workout for my heart.
I had a half bottle of kombucha yesterday and the caffeine in it messed with my sleep last night, so I’m feeling pretty tired between the workout and funky sleep pattern. We’ll see how productive I am today because of it. Oh well, I’m just glad I had the oomph for the workout 😊.
I ended up making homemade mac and cheese last night for dinner because I had the calories in the bank and my husband just wanted pasta for dinner. It was so good and cheesy. I also put a little Frank’s Buffalo wing sauce on top and that made it even better! Then I rounded it out with a small salad after with some fresh spinach, tomato and cucumber.
Tonight will be the turkey tips with BBQ sauce and a side of greens and the purple potatoes from our CSA. Have a good day everyone!
06/11 119.2 I will happily take this stall because it makes me realize I can have my body stay at a point where I’m happy with it. We have also been running a lot more which in the beginning can cause a bit of water retention. So, maybe I’ll get a little bit of a whoosh soon?
We went for a nice 4ish mile walk this morning and I did a mini bodyweight workout prior. Solid start so far. The turkey tips were good last night with Stubbs bbq sauce on them. 😊 Not sure what’s on the menu for tonight, I don’t know what I’m even in the mood for. I do need to use the sorrel that we got but I’m still not sure what to do with it. I found a chimichurri sauce that looks interesting, so I might try that. Have a good day!
06/12 120.0 Woke up feeling puffy and the scale also reflected that. It could be retention from my workouts on Wednesday and yesterday. We also had dinner a little later and it was a bit salty so this all makes sense. It’s been a good morning so far with another soccer workout. The spin bike we ordered a month ago finally showed up last night! 😊 We got a really good deal on it and it had been lost in transit with UPS and was most likely sitting on a trailer in one of their facilities. I’m just so glad it arrived and feel grateful to be able to have one.
I’m not sure what’s on the agenda for tonight for dinner but I’m hoping something easy for dinner. I have some gardening to do tomorrow and a few other things so it’ll be a low key weekend exercise wise but I will have to try the bike out tomorrow morning

Round 115 SW 199.6 EW 192
Went off the wagon over quarenteen, but started logging again during round 115. My goal this round is to get back in the 180's. No alcohol this month and at least 20,000 steps a day!!
Day/Weight/Comment
06/06 191.6 Walked 20,000 steps yesterday. Stuck to food plan. Ate 2 meals between 12:00 and 7:00. No snacking!
06/07 191.2 Walked 25,000 steps yesterday. Stuck to food plan. I woke up early today so I can walk before it gets too hot. Plan on another 25,000 steps today and continuing 2 meals of salad greens with protien, and healthy fats, no alcohol and eating window between noon and 7 pm. Lots of water!! It feels good to be back in control.
06/08 191.6 Walked 21,000 steps yesterday and stuck to plan. I think this uptick is my body adjusting to the large weight loss last week. I'm going to just keep on keeping on. It's suppposed to storm today and tomorrow, so I will be doing more weight work the next few days.
06/09 191.8 Grr.... I walked for 1.5 hours straight briskly in the morning and painted a closet the rest of the day. I had 2 meals a day consisting of greens with protien and healthy fats. No snacking, no alcohol. My whole body is sore, so I am hoping that my muscles are retaining some water and I will see a drop tomorrow. I plan on drinking a ton of water today. Walked more than 20,000 steps yesterday.
06/10 191.4 Trying not to get discouraged, because I am working so hard, and not seeing results on the scale. I can tell that my stomach is flatter and my body is firmer from all of the exercise. Hoping to get a whoosh before the end of this round. Yesterday I walked 17,000 steps and ate within plan.
06/11 DNW My scale broke into thousands of pieces yesterday...no, I didn't break it on purpose. My new scale will be arriving later today. Yesterday I walked 25,000 steps and stuck to plan. I did drink 1 Truly last night. Hoping when I weigh tomorrow I will see a loss.
06/12 191.1 Sooo slow....... Walked 21,000 steps yesterday. Ate 2 meals consisting of spinach and other greens, chicken and healthy fats. Drank lots of water.

06/07 182.4 Whoohoo! A big whoosh down. Won’t count on keeping all of it, part of it is stomach upset yesterday having me eat less, but gratifying to see. Because this has worked so far, I bit the bullet and established my next mini-goal. Really debated on how large or small to set it; decided on a number that represents my weight when I first met my husband 12 years ago. Wish me luck!
06/08 184.0 I didn’t expect to keep all that whoosh, but no good reason to pop up so high. Was green on calories, lots of activity. Maybe dinner was higher sodium than I thought. But I finished the weekend below 185!
06/09 183.2 I’ll take it. Stayed green, got 2 walks in as well as strength training.
06/10 182.4 I’ve been working hard for this, eating green and drinking water. Happy to see this number again and a Happy Scale average of under 183.
06/11 182.0 So happy to be on a losing trend. I want to ride this train as long as I can before I end up on another plateau. I don’t feel like my habits are hugely different right now (eat green, exercise) just my body is cooperating by yielding results.
06/12 181.0 I just hoped to keep at 182, didn’t expect another pound off; so happy my body has decided to keep losing. Maybe it’s the strength training? Last week I started doing ~15-20 minutes 4x week, in addition to my usual walking 30-60 minutes/day. Often I’ve had my weight stall when I add in strength; happy that’s not the case right now!

6/06 - 184
I’m taking a round of cephalexin and feel puffy. Water retention isn’t listed as a side effect, but something is causing this. Phooey. Anyway, I’m off for a walk on the rivergreenway and have an afternoon of garden work planned. One of these days I’ll have a breakthrough. I’m a bit depressed and disgusted with myself about this and the news. Maybe the river and trees will help. Have a good Saturday.
6/07 - 185
Seriously waterlogged. Calories were fine, though, so I know it’s just water. It’s a gorgeous day here so I’m off to walk along the river again. Increasing daily distance to get back to my old 5-10 miles/day.
6/08 - 183.2
Okay, finished the antibiotics and I feel less bloated. All good.
6/09 - 183.2
Calories low yesterday. I baked a cake and brownies to give away and didn’t sample at all — yay me! It’s supposed to get hot this afternoon, so I’m off for a walk on the rivergreenway and then picking up mulch to finish my new beds. Also plotting another....Left to my own devices, the whole backyard would be flower and herb beds with a few veggies here and there.

6/10 - 183
Not a great number but at least it’s moving in the right direction. I’m going for a walk and then hope to spend the rest of the day in the garden, moving a few things, planting the last few, yanking a couple....So good for the spirit.
6/11 - 181.8
Finally, some progress! We have a very low-calorie day planned — DH brought home shrimp. Yum! Off for a walk, then lots of weeding and dead-heading. I might even do a little writing (my actual work!). Have a lovely day, all!
6/12 - 182.6
Oops. I confess, I had salty popcorn and a little ice cream last night, calories over goal. Back on track today.

OSW-187 Sept. 2018
Goal Weight this Round: Stay in 140’s
Drink plenty of water, keep organizing.Walk
6/6-149 Walked 7 miles. It’s been cooler and breezy!
6/7-152-No walk, worked around the house with DH, then brought the rest of my clothes here AFTER I reinforced my closet rod. I prepped for lunch at my in-laws today, including pie and bread. We take it to their house and sit out in the backyard and eat and visit. They are 77 & 90 and don’t go anywhere. I may not even weigh tomorrow. Have a wonderful Sunday!🌸
6/8-150-I really don’t deserve this; I ate some of everything and then came home and had beer and garlic bread for dinner.
6/9-Windy, appointments and not much of a walk. Today will be better.....I can just feel it!!!🙂
6/10-151-Had to get a mammogram yesterday, so I treated myself to hamburger and fries but didn’t get king sized and had iced tea. Continued to drink water and did a smaller walk. I’m hoping for a bike ride this morning before it’s hot!
6/11-149-Rode the bike 11 miles and ate light. Walking today and it’s going to be hot.
6/12-151- Walked 10 miles. Lots of running around to do today and getting a hair cut. Hoping for a bike ride.6 -

06/10 – 134.8 – This has gone too far and I am finally going to do something about it. I have been logging in to MFP, but haven’t been using it to track anything. I haven’t been consistent in weighing and honestly, I cringe when I do, but I haven’t cared enough to do anything. I am up 10 full pounds since January 1st and seeing the pattern on my weight chart for the past 6 months has got me motivated! Working from home in the kitchen, baking with my daughters, stress and boredom eating, etc have all given me excuses to not care. My birthday is on June 29th and I would like to be back below 130 by then, so starting today I am back at it. I know it won’t be easy getting back in the routine, especially because nothing is routine still. And it won’t be perfect because there are birthday parties and other things coming up where I will treat myself. But today I am taking the first step to starting again.
06/11 – 134.0 – Yesterday wasn’t so bad getting back on track, just got to keep it up daily now.

6/12 118.5 Pretty sure this is a result of the BBQ we’ve been eating since Tuesday night. It tastes different than usual and the little sauce I use tastes very sweet. Putting my last portion in the freezer. I also noticed my knees aching a little, a sure sign of carb inflammation.3 -
@cpanus Sorry to hear about your ankle. Take care of yourself. Sending prayers.1

6/06: 226.2 -- Since I reallly don't feel like cooking (or going to market), already know its a snacking kinda day. I'll have to be careful and creative!
6/07: 224.0 -- Although stayed within calorie range, was neither careful nor creative yesterday, lol - BUTTT ... had my grandbaby all day, watched a bunch of old movies AND slept 9 hours! Could this be proof R&R and the occasional cheat day actually does the body good? We'll see ...
6/08: 223.3 -- hit record # of steps since I started counting a month ago ... (11,627)
Weather is supposed to be gorgeous here. Definitely looking forward to getting some sun this week! Hope you all meet your goals and find some serenity in the madness we're living in. Peace & blessings friends.

6/11: 223.6 -- emotions and energy still very low; going to have to dig deep to get through the day
6/12: 222.7 -- lawd it was hard reaching 10,000 steps yesterday. Was dragging one leg @ a time over the finish line, but I did it! Hope to keep it going and gain some momentum over the weekend.

I’m incredibly frustrated with this round. I workout 5 days a week, I count my calories, I weigh everything. Seeing almost no progress in almost 10 days is incredibly discouraging. This whole process since I got back on track has been really discouraging.8 -

06/05 …..209.2….. ENDING WEIGHT LAST ROUND
06/06 …..209.2 ….. No planned exercise yesterday on a very busy day. Stuck to eating plan but the snacks were the unauthorized kind. Babysitting my 1 yr old grandson today. I would like some outdoor fun but a bear was in the yard yesterday. A little nervous about that!
06/07 …..209.2 ….. I can do better!
06/08 …..211.0 ….. In a horrid work rush all day I skipped lunch and dinner and then filled up on Junk thinking it would even itself out. What in the Sam Heck was I thinking????? Today will be even busier but I must be more prepared!
06/09 …..211.0 ….. Food was on point but exercise was lacking. Very low water intake due to “busy, busy. Where did the time go?” with my home business. So many details but just not enough steady active movement. I am traveling today which will help escape the weather that is forcasted to be in the 90s. No AC (rare in this area to have AC due to weak electricity in old buildings) so my car will be cool and the stores in the city will have AC, thank Goodness! I will be hauling back a TON of supplies for current projects (Home Depot, here I come!) Stay safe & stay cool today everyone!
06/10 …..211.0 ….. Well, that makes me a little nervous but I guess I should be pleased. During the travels yesterday, I ate twice at restaurants. I did try to keep it very reasonable and stick to good choices. One choice, however, was Chinese food with my travel partner. I stuck to a better-than-usual selection but usually I retain more water. We shall see in the coming 2-3 days if the scale wreaks havoc with an after-shock.
06/11 …..211.0 ….. Wow! Now I seem really stuck. I’m gonna try to shake it up today,. Busy day. No planned exercise but lots of movement ahead and plenty of steps in store for me. Let’s see what happens!
06/12 …..209.6 ….. This spring cleaning is killing me! So sore! For the last couple of days I have walked 9 to 12 miles per day with between 20,000 and 30,000 steps! It is not planned, consistent exercise but movement, movement, movement! Finally it is showing up on the scale. The food yesterday was another grab & go. Although the carbs were somewhat off-kilter, they were all healthy and the calories were very reasonable. When grabbing anything with carbs I really watched my portions then got back on the run! Today will be yet another very busy day. Staying as mindful as possible. Enjoy your weekend everyone!

06/08 - 151.7 - A bit better. Need to get this down.
06/09 - 151.2 - Okay, back to my start weight of this 10.
06/10 - 149.9 - Excellent to see that number. Hit it once and can hit it again.
06/11 - 150.1 - I'm good with that, I will get firmly into the 140s eventually.
06/12 - 153.4 - I had Asian Sesame Ribs last night, which led to thirst and 2 extra litres of water. I didn't expect to gain so much from one meal, but that is how it goes. I will work it back down.

Day/Weight/Comment
06/06 191.8 estimated calories 1471
06/07 192.6 estimated calories 2190 (maintenance)
06/08 193 ran 3 miles this morning, my NSV is that I completed C25K today! pretty proud of getting to the end. Now to regroup and come up with a new game plan to increase distance/stamina.
06/09 192.8 estimated calories yesterday 1542
06/10 190.8 est calories yesterday 1669 a bit high but I was so hungry! I ate all the veggies in the fridge.. pea pods, cauliflower, a whole pepper, turkey wrapped pickles.. I was like the Very Hungry Caterpillar. Ran this morning we ran 5 minutes, did sprint intervals (30 on/2 off) which were surprisingly fun, ran 10 minutes. It was good. hungry again today but trying to head it off with water.. water.. more water.
06/11 192.6 total estimated cals 1899 so my calories were high, I had a small watermelon margarita with salted rim.. I had high hopes of not seeing a jump in the scale but oh well. Drinking water (again! Still!) Shooting for 1200 calories today.
06/12 192.4 total estimated cals 1609 due to cooking disaster. I made a really nice veggie and chicken meatball coconut Thai curry which was TOOO HOT AND SPICY to eat! So I added some rice noodles to cut the heat down and make it edible.. carbohydrates still sticking with me today. Ran 2 miles this morning but burned same amount of estimated calories due to more sprints and less walking. I would like to see this weight budge this round.. not looking promising

Learned a lot about my weight tendencies during my first challenge 10 days ago. This will be my last challenge before vacation so I'm going big. Goal is to lose at least 5# by increasing exercise and maintaining MFP goal calories. I actually think I can lose more as the last two days of the last challenge served me up a couple pounds back, but who needs that kind of pressure!?
SW: 178.6
6/6-176.8 up for 24 hours with a family medical emergency that had a happy enough ending for my sweet momma. Not the way to lose water weight!
6/7-176.4 I don't know how, but I will accept those lost bonus ounces. Slept till noon; made poor food choices [yet stayed within MFP goal]; somehow walked 10,000 steps, only 1 mile intentionally.
6/8- 176.3 Walked...a LOT. Gardened a bit.
6/9- 176 My digital scale had a "twitch" between this weight, and 175.9. Hoping to have a "5" tomorrow!
6/10-174.3 I'm ok skipping the "5". Took a day off of IF 11-7 eating window. Ate bigger earlier in the day and took advantage of the pause in the day of rain to walk, walk, walk...
6/11 -175.1 The "5" came a day late!

Hi, that's a lot of walking! Though your weight is coming off slowly, may be muscle forming? Are you losing inches too?3 -

Join us! If we stay mindful we can do this, you can do this.
Welcome back past members, welcome new members, let's keep each other accountable for another 10 days!
Here is what you do: Post your daily weight and add little comments along the way of how your day went. Post everyday to let us know how you're doing! Copy and paste the days in your response--tell us how much you lost and other non scale victories (NSV) you'd like to share.
FOR NEWBIES - I find it easiest to copy the dates to a document or note in my device and edit it each morning. Then copy and paste to the message board. MFP will return you to the spot on the board where you left off on your previous visit which is nice to know if you like to scan all of the posts.
