Machka - do you have a website where I can print the calendars that you post? I cannot read them on my phone.
Rita - hubby and I both enjoyed your alien.
Michele - I was taught through work that shields are not as effective as masks. Droplets can fall down from the shield and isn’t captured like it is in a mask. I would assume though that in a grocery store setting it would suffice, in healthcare it wouldn’t. They have to use a mask.
Katla - I hope you find a way to get the CBD to your dog. Enjoy your blueberries!
Ginny - I had the test two weeks ago, a bit uncomfortable but not too bad.
It must be hard remembering the last days with your husband. I still wish I didn’t have the memories I have of my Dad in his last few days maybe some point I’ll forget.
I am struggling trying to stay motivated at work. My boss and I are not seeing eye to eye and I don’t know what to do. I have tried talking to her but don’t feel I got very far. I can’t afford to just quit and there are not many jobs around right now so I just have to suck it up and deal. It has affected my sleep this week which has made it even worse.
Hubby got a call today from the doctor, his blood test results are in and they are putting him on meds for diabetes. He has the trifecta, blood pressure, cholesterol and diabetes. He had done well before Covid hit and lost some weight. We have both had setbacks since this happened. One reason to start was I was trying to avoid shopping so wasn’t buy as many fresh foods. I need to get better again.

Been busy working on numerous afghans for Project Linus. We haven't met in quite awhile due to COVID situation. These are ready to be donated to a local adoption agency.
Did a 4 mile Leslie Sansone Walk at Home video on YouTube TV today. Just love her workouts.
Had a virtual book club this evening. We read and discussed People of the Book by Gerldinr Brooks. We are reading Daring Greatly by Brene Brown for August.
Best to all!

Dflk – red okra isn’t as “liquidy” as the green. I don’t know how to describe it. Not as gummy, you know, the stuff inside the okra
Went to another Food Lion this morning to see if they had the ice cream Steve likes, but they don’t. Got another brand, but it was lactose free and no one will eat it. I’ll see if I can find someone who will eat it.
Cheri – are those blankets all c2c?
Off to bed.

I learned how to crochet in high school. You can find out more about Project Linus and your local chapter at

Thank you for the congratulations.
My last course appears to be mainly about research which I like, but group work which I'm not keen on. It starts next week! But it's all online so I'm expecting that we'll have an online "Intro to the Course" thing soon. I've already got the Unit Outline.
There are three assignments, each of which builds on the one before, but no exam. The last assignment is due October 9th and that is that.
So, if all goes well, in 3 months I will be finished.
And then, my grad will be in December. Whether or not that will be an in-person grad, who knows.
At this point, I am just looking forward to October 10. Yes, @auntiebk I am exhausted. Not the kind of exhausted that requires an extra hour or two of sleep, although that wouldn't hurt, exhausted in the sense that I'm tired of it all.
Tired of Uni. I've been working on this Master's degree since February 2015 and in the past 2 years I've doubled the number of classes I've taken in an attempt to finish it as quickly as I can. So I've been taking courses back-to-back-to-back for a while now with no real breaks in between, and this past semester I took 2 courses at once!! It will be so nice to have my evenings and weekends to do whatever I want!! I'm not sure what that is anymore, but it won't be homework.
Tired of Work. Or more specifically, tired of the commute. I don't mind the job. I don't mind the idea of being at the office. It's the 1.5 hours a day of commuting that I'm not looking forward to. So I'm debating what to do about that and I'm thinking of things like driving to work (not something I've done very often in my life) and seeing if I can go to 4 days a week instead of 5, even if I might have to work a little bit extra on those 4 days.
Tired of my husband's situation. Specifically, being controlled by an insurance company every step of the way. I'd like to get our lives back and I am working on that.

Meanwhile, my mother goes into surgery tomorrow at what looks like 5 am my time. And I guess sometime tomorrow or in the very near future we'll find out if she has cancer or what.
And then almost 24 hours later, I go under the knife. It'll be an interesting weekend.

DH just returned from weekly shop. Might venture into town later on bus. Bit nervous at the prospect as haven’t been since lockdown
Had hair done yesterday felt a bit strange but feel so much better now. Next appointment in 2 weeks as he is booked up. DH also had his curly locks chopped the long hair was making him look so much older, he is 79 though LOL
Welcome newbies
Stay safe

Morning Ladies
Was going to take my granddaughter today her mom only works until 1today and I got a text from my son saying he couldnt find his glasses and he had cut his hand on a glass.. so i went down awhile ago.. woke him up and we had to tear the bed apart taking off mattress and boxspring.. and when we went to put it back together..there were the glasses ,must have gotten caught in his sheets...
His hand ok...he put bandaids on it.. so came back home and havinf my cup of tea...and will clean up some after seeing his little place a shambles,im ashamed of my bigger place almost in the same shape...
I am hoping to get over to triple A and get my licence done.. need it to fly...will call again today... the lady i spoke with was real nice..3 -
Thanks for the heads up on the C2C crochet, Cheri - That looks like something I could definitely work with. I know a few stitches, but the complex patterns make me a little nutso. Now, where did I put that graph paper? Your Project Linus afghans look wonderful...
Ginny - tough memories, much support and many hugs coming your way. I try so hard not to remember the anniversaries of pain, and celebrate the good memories, but they sneak in on you anyway.
Yesterday, we got the upright freezer that I ordered May 1, and got everything shifted over. Simply impossible to tell what's there in a small chest freezer stuffed to the top. And by the time I get to the bottom, I nearly fall in, so even worse.
Did find a few vegetables (green beans and carrots) from last year this time, right down at the bottom of the chest freezer, and chicken soup base, so will see if I can get a vegetable soup made and canned this afternoon, or at least made and cooled down.
FAR too hot to even think of soup for dinner, so will have to store it/freeze it, but at the moment I'm just procrastinating getting in there to do my exercise. Then I have to water everything, as it's a dry hot week/weekend ahead.
Forgot! Non-scale victory... Had to order bras yesterday, as all my medium ones are getting too large, not supportive enough. Not exactly overendowed at this weight, and happy for it.
Love y'all,

Katla: I made the decision at the beginning of lockdown in March that I was going to continue my usual workouts using YouTube etc. It’s been quite good as I mostly worked out at home anyway.
I haven’t really missed my usual busy volunteer schedule as a I have kept up with my groups by email. I have enjoyed the extra time to write/paint/craft/garden and spend quality time with hubby. It has made me re-evaluate my present volunteer commitments.
I am missing face to face contact with my family, although we do see DYD at least once a week, albeit at a distance. And DSiL and BiL have visited us twice.1 -

They do sneak in on you anyway.
This happened to me in the wee hours yesterday morning. I was awake at 0230 and suddenly inexplicably started crying about Sara, the daughter of a friend/colleague, born stillborn 5 years ago. I was thinking 'what in the world'? then remembered she was born in July on my birthday.
Then, and only then, did it occur to me that I lost my baby Joy in July 1992…so I think I had to cry about Sara to be able to think about Joy…anyway, I sent a message to my friend (Sara's mother) and she wrote back to tell me that early yesterday morning, as she was drifting in an out of that delicious early morning sleep, her daughter Emma was on her bed playing with her dolls, having pretend conversations.
Here is the message she sent me: "This morning Emma was in bed playing while I was semi-asleep. She had her dolls and was pretend playing. They were talking to each other and I heard her say “Joy, let’s go play.” We know no one named Joy nor has she ever used that name in pretend play before. Then I saw your message."

As many/most of you know, I'm in Tasmania and it's winter here.
So while you're enjoying heat, we're getting overnight temps about 0C and daytime temps about 10C. Frosty.
Feeling quite chilly this evening and I've even put the heater on in the back of the house!
I'm debating if I want a heavy dressing gown for my night in the hospital, or if I'll go with a light one as originally planned. Or if I'll care. I may be well asleep under several heated blankets.

Karen - what a lovely way to touch the infinite loop of existence, even if only for an instant. I did not know you'd lost a child, many hugs coming your way.2
