Peachy: I’ll try this two ways. The first will be in color, the second will divide the marks to keep it from showing in color. Use a backward slash after your colored word [ color /= red ] to stop the color I added spaces so you can see the commands better. I hope it helps.

    Peachy [ color = red ]

    Peachy [ color = blue ]

Did a 10 Minute Tighten and Tone Pilates DVD. The plan for tomorrow is to do a Hillard Method Total Body Workout. This is a new one so we shall see.

Barbara – yes, $11.71 for cream of tartar. A 1.5oz container. You would think it was saffron, huh? Well, they bought it from Amazon and resold it to me. They added their markup. So if people use their home delivery, just look out for how much you are charged and where the item is coming from. We always have someone come into the house to take care of the cats while we’re away even for one night. Well, Loki needs his med which is why we need someone to come even if we're away for one night.

We have to take Loki to the vet. They’re going to work us in. He started limping yesterday. We have no idea why. Jess looked at him and thinks it’s his leg

I like to keep my hair somewhat long right now so that I can pull it back for the soup kitchen

    Lisa
    – the biggest problem I have with making bread is that I am not good with yeast. But I used to make a lot of bread in the breadmaker

I’m applying for a job at Food Lion. Need to go there Monday at 1:30 for what I would say is an interview. At least I can earn the money for the landscaping and I don’t have to listen to Vince commenting all the time about how expensive it is.

    Tracey
    – Cream of Tartar isn’t that expensive in the store. I think it’s around $3. If you divide the price for 6 from Amazon, it works out to around $3 for each container. WalMart made some profit off me, that’s for sure!

    Kim – happy birthday

Went to the Salvation Army. Got a shirt that I don’t know if I need. Then went to Food Lion to see if they got my application. I would have sworn that they didn’t but they did. Supposedly I was to get a confirmation, but I never did. Then stopped at the dollar store to see if they had any yarn. They only had small things of this really thick stuff. Then went to Dollar General who doesn’t sell any yarn but I got a few more dishtowels. Then home and in the pool. Oh, early this a.m. we took Loki to the vet. He doesn’t have anything broken, they think it’s probably just a sprain so we’re TRYING to keep him from jumping. You try keeping a cat from jumping….good luck

    Welcome @Germank106 !
Machka when you find a source for that social distancing enforcer, please let me know. ;)
Faye enjoyed your Hotel Swanky story, too bad you didn’t get second (and third, fourth, fifth if need be) opinion on your novel How many rejections has Steven King had?
Annie “spray [you] with mint water”? Wow! Googled your resort and took two virtual tours, now I’m craving umbrella drinks and mint sprays ;)
    Barbie enjoy your dancing!
    Margaret
Lisa , and was it Yvonne ?, you gals who regularly bake bread for meals have my admiration. Have neither the energy nor the knack.
Tracy I’m with whoever (was it Vicki?) who suggested that someone should let the board know. Hard that you have no HR to field/investigate such complaints. Would the gal who’s resigning consider sending an exit letter to the board?
Debbie I’m not a lover of tomatoes, but will borrow your breadless BLT substituting avocado, cucumber for the slimy red stuff and put on a bed of romaine. Thanks!
    Rori
Michele, I’m not much of a people person, but the few I like, I really like. Not being able to hug is the hardest thing for me. $11.71 for cream of tartar? No way!
Katla I am so with you about perms. Never again!
Pip your boss was still at the carwash all these years later? Wow!

The pooches survived their first night away from us EVER with no obvious scars. Joe and I have been tippy toeing around each other as he was completely opposed to using a pet sitter, wanted to board the babes at the vet. I was insistent to try as it would be a more homelike environment, and I have hard memories of my first dog catching distemper when boarded at the vet’s in 1960. Back in the day we didn’t know to immunize our dog, and the vet didn’t tell us. It still hurts. Now of course the vets require immunizations to board, and it would have been an ok fallback option, but I’m glad I stuck to my guns despite his opposition. I think he was afraid if something bad happened I’d blame him as it’s his surgery that makes us need to board them. He finally relaxed enough to make a joke, that I pretended to take well ;}. Later he even selected a dvd he knew I’d enjoy and came into the house and watched it with me. That was a pleasant change, we’ve been retreating to our own spaces for most of the past week. I took it as a peace offering, and am much relieved.

He is the owner. , the guy under him is still there too, that guy trained me. He was on vacation so I didn’t see him that day. The running joke was That everyone That quit or left always came back. When I left there to move to San Jose, they said. You’ll b back, I said, uhh no I won’t. Yesterday when I saw my boss, I told him I moved back. We chatted, and b4 I left I told him, no I won’t apply, not coming back, he laughed

The coolest room in the house is 82° at 10.30 pm. I am upstairs with the fan blowing over my naked body.

Otherwise the day was OK. I didn’t do any bonus afternoon exercise, for obvious reasons, but I'm still well within calories. The pork chop was toughish, but OK for me. DH finds chewing tough meat very difficult, even if it's no problem for most people. It used to make going out for a steak a bit of an ordeal, especially as he never learns from experience. I did a great job on the mushroom sauce though and finished with a portion of stinky, runny cheese. :D<3

This evening I watched a German film. Really enjoying my German.

HOT again tomorrow. Hope this is over soon.

To clarify, I am a storyteller, not a writer. I don't have the command of language it takes to be a great writer. I can verbalize a story and make it interesting, but trying to convey the emotion in written words requires skills I don't have. I once wrote a 500-page novel in 3 weeks. Now it would take me 6 years. I might still write a novel loosely based on my life.

How long of a novel do you avid reader prefer?

Heather What is your pen name?

Barbara- I love home grown tomatoes- I have had to resort to planting mainly yellow or orange ones as they have less acid in them. My mouth gets terrible sores during the summer from all the tomatoes if I only eat the red ones. My yard is very small compared to what I grew up with(my parents have 3 1/2 acres and an acre of that has always been garden) and when I was married the first time we had a nice big garden. Here, I have two 8'x4' raised beds that my parents built me- one for tomatoes and one for cucumbers- everything else is in big pots and a drip system I set up. I HAVE to have a garden. My husband complains about the water bill but I tell him that is my only real hobby and the water bill is not all from my garden(house and lawn use up a lot too) and he spends a whole lot more on his model kits or what ever else he is working on(got into 3D printing and now has 3 of them). I love eating veggies right in the garden. The one thing I have never had any luck at all with here is squash/zucchini- need to find a different spot, larger pot/tub next time- they are not the priority that tomatoes, cucumbers and added this year, catnip. Love all my herbs- basil is doing great so have made four batches of pesto so far. Looking forward to the hot peppers getting ready for some pico de gallo- sadly the cilentro came on first so had to buy tomatoes and peppers, now, the cilentro is gone and the tomatoes and peppers are coming on.
I have never heard tomatoes being called slimy- have heard that about okra(another thing I really wanted to do well this year but not yet, and only one of the four pots is doing anything at all. LOVE fried okra in the air fryer.

Michele - I couldn’t believe you were paying that price for Cream of Tartar in the states. I checked on Amazon here in Canada and it’s gone up exponentially here too! I don’t use it often but man it’s pricy!

Dlfk202000- I was having that issue with my husband as well for a lot of years. I felt very used. I am so grateful that he finally started listening to my concerns a couple of years ago. I am happier now than I had been for a long time. I hope you have the same soon.

    Tracey in Edmonton

Thank you Tracey- I talked to him a few years ago, things changed slightly for about a week but back to the old way. Next year we will be married 28 yrs and I have put up with this for 24yrs of that- For most of it, I thought that is all I should expect out of it,/that is all I deserved/thought it was my fault then my former hubby contacted me twenty years after he left and explained WHY he left and asked for my forgiveness- all those years he was gone I thought it was my fault(he left with no explanation)- we are now very close/best friends and it was great to get answers.
One of these days I will speak up for myself again but doubt things will change- have lowered my expectations so it doesn't hurt as much. Have to find a way to make myself happy because he doesn't seem to have any interest in changing things.

Just checked my messages to find I was indeed confirmed for the first round of yearly cancer test. I have to go to Eastern Washington and wait a month, but worth the wait, travel, and expense to get this done finally.

    Hi Gals,

    Rebecca – thinking of you!

Tracey – could you send a anonymous snail mail letter to the president of the board of directors?

    Newbies – welcome!

Karen – Thanks! And to Margaret, Carol, Katla, Rori, Annie, Heather, Rebecca, Tracey, Michele, Evelyn thanks so much and a special thanks to Lisa who texted me this morning.

So yes today is my 62nd birthday, and I know the last few weeks I have not been here much, but with the length of the Covid situation and the fact that living in CA we are still in modified lock down, I have been working of a strong pivot of work to keep the lights on and the mortgage paid. I’ll share more of what I am doing later. But for now I have mom here for a couple of days and I am doing all the cooking and coordinating for a birthday dinner, so I better scoot if I want cocktails, dinner and dessert.

    Book Lover’s quiz - I’m a 13

Smiles from the older gal from California!

You can also go into a whole variety of colours using the hex codes.

I use this site to find the hex codes: https://www.color-hex.com/

    Light Green ... [ color=#5AC18E ]
