Yvonne in TX: I’m so sorry that the Covid mess is putting so many into isolation. This group is a blessing. We are not alone because we have one another. I hope you’re able to get the motor bike running and have a little fun. :flowerforyou:
Pip: Your pup does an excellent balancing trick. I love the photo above your patio chairs. DH is a photographer & suggested that you find UV glass for your frame to keep your wonderful photo from fading.
Rita: I am so snake phobic that I don’t even want to look at the photo. Excellent use of the spoiler. Thanks.
I called the Audubon Society to find out what became of our neighborhood’s Great Blue Heron. We all called him Ichabod. Sadly, Ichabod was so damaged that they chose gentle euthanasia. He could not have been healed and he was in pain. He will be missed. I hope a new heron will move in one of these days.

Two minutes on the ministepper and plain chicken for snack. It's a great day!3

Terri - thank you for the photos of your drying cupboard! Great idea!
I dug out my heavy wooden drying rack and have towels and rags used by my cleaning lady yesterday.
Many years ago when I was doing crafts, I made a little gizmo to hang in the laundry room to dry socks, undies, etc. A couple of clothespins are no longer usable but I use it all the time:
Rita - glad your DH discovered the snake before there was trouble. Great photos, by the way. Oh and I wanted to comment on how neat it is you have taken the new ranger under your wing. She looks like a sweetie and I'm sure she's very grateful to have you there.
Faye - (((HUGS)))) all I can say is there's something wacky going on with the continual destruction and rioting in some cities, and as my folks would have said, someone needs to be taken out to the woodshed. What a rotten shame about your doctor's office.
Rioters tried to have a presence in our little community a month or so ago and were met by a huge but polite crowd of "good old boys" open carrying. (That's normal around here whether there are rioters or not, lol.) So they drove on. Cops checked license plates and ID'd at least one of them with a warrant so gave a merry chase.

Happy Wednesday I was off yesterday. Went to doctor for my 6 month checkup and my blood work was pretty close to normal, but Sed Rate is still high and my hives are back all over again. So not happy and doctor has no answer. Also found out I am 1&half inches shorter then last year.
Then DH and I just took off for the day. Went geocache and had lunch at this little BAR B Q place we like. Shared an order of pulled pork nachos. Was a nice day.

Aack, so far behind in the subjects y'all are typing about!

I post mindless drivel! I am following sites that give me more mindless drivel, haahaa! I am on Messenger because that's how I communicate with family, and how I get my Athena fix pics from.
My middle son Patrick, ( Athenas dad), messages me, showing pics of the latest culinary masterpiece he's thrown together. I give him hints and its like he's channelling the part of me that never had a daughter. I can pass down tips to him and it does fill that void. Its kind of sad that my daughter in law isn't quite "interested" in doing the majority of the cooking. She does bake though, but the day to day meals I think falls on my son. Its a strange setup, but the world has changed with roles regarding who does what.
For me, part of how I show love is baking, and cooking with care. I was raised to be a people pleaser! My Mom was a classic case. She would ask how you liked something she made, before you even took the first bite. If it wasn't a resounding yes, she'd have a myriad of reasons why it wasn't perfect. She put a lot of pressure on herself. I ask my guys maybe halfway thru dinner, usually when they're still chewing so all I get is yummy noises.
Washing machine Japanese style -
When we went over to Japan, our second tour, we acquired a Japanese made machine to go in our housing goods. Think of the smallest apartment washer, then go smaller. It wasn't automatic, so you turned on the water, watched it fill, then turned on a kitchen like timer knob that agitated. When that was done you hit a button to empty, then did the process all over again. I felt so like a Renaissance washerwoman! On one corner of the washer was a tube like the little container spinners you see at a swimming pool changing room. So you put ONE item in a time and it spun it so it wasn't dripping wet when you hung it. Jeans were especially fun because I had to hold the machine because it would be off center. I would yell, "take it"! Then of course, hanging stuff out on our balcony was only permitted on the days everyone else in the neighborhood put out their laundry! I had fancy hangers with many clips that folded up when not in use. Think of a plastic ring with lots of clips for socks, it was quite the innovative design.👍. We were put on a list in the Housing Office for a washing machine/dryer stackup. When it came, I had to ask my Japanese friend what all the kanji characters meant!
Well nothing else new in my world, no news from youngest Navy son, but I deal. Husband turns 60 at the end of the month. I am clueless at what to get him. Maybe lasagna, because he hasn't had that in awhile. On 28th we travel to Seattle for his 5 min liver transplant wellness appointment. Dreading that, but we'll travel early and rest in the car.

I am modeling my new $1 going out of business sale top and new $20 underground haircut and posing while social distancing with some sassy Canadian girls. My latest homemade choker/mask is ready and my new $3 necessaries bag is stocked with items that make a girl feel secure. A cell phone, pepper spray, extra undies, and other contents are undisclosed. Not my best look but oh well no one really notices except to ask why I wear my elbow arm guards.

Saying hi, Ella and I are back in WA for the winter. Had a short but good summer in Alaska. My sister's medical drew us back to the cancer center a month sooner than we had planned.

VickiI think you might have answered this already awhile back but I just can’t remember for sure. Have you been tested for Alpha-gal allergy? LabCorp test 602284. AGS (Alpha-Gal Syndrome) can cause the symptoms you are experiencing. Your doctor probably has already looked into this possibility.

I was almost through catching up when DH came in excited and wanting me to bring my phone and open camera. He almost stepped on a baby rattle snake! It was right under our sewer dumping pipe, where DH was in the process of out weekly dumping.
Warning- not for snake-a-phobias!
Now I am wearing steel toes shoes and spraying clove oil around! I got lax on it and now am paying for it!
Today is 8/19/20

RV Rita shaking and spraying!
Rita Time for thick leather boots up to the knee! The little guys are as deadly as the big ones. Maybe even heavy leather gloves up to the armpits for DH when he is attending to sewer responsibilities. Glad he didn't get bit.

Gosh Karen, that Alpha Gal thing sounds horrible. I've never heard of it before! Those ticks are horrible.
Vicki, have you had the blood test?

Heather It is awful until you figure out that is what you have. Then you can just avoid eating what you are allergic to and it’s manageable. A fair number of people “outgrow” it within 5 years, especially if they strictly avoid the triggers, which may include beef, pork, gelatin, and in some people milk and some other proteins.

I completed the 10k Wonder Woman virtual run on Saturday. I ran/walked on the treadmill 6.2 miles in 1:32. Training moved indoors due to the Texas heat, 104 - 105 a few days last week. I need to look for another virtual run to stay motivated.
Still attending 5 Zumba Gold and Line Dance classes a week at the Y. Masks are required to enter and leave, but can be removed for class. Temperature is also checked each time.
I took a 5 day vacation to Galveston in mid July with daughter’s family. We stayed in an Airbnb a few blocks from the beach. The beach was not crowded and it was easy to keep a good distance from other groups. I took food for breakfast and lunch and we picked up restaurant take out for dinners. So fun to play with the grands.
I may venture into on-line dating.
Annie - what site have you used?

I use OkCupid. It's free and I like the algorithm which is totally transparent. You can change your mind or even skip questions, as well as mark those important to you. It's done pretty well by me.
