Kymarai-
Im in Connecticut and we will be hit with it today, not as much rain but damaging winds, will have my dogs and granddaughter so we will hunker down here..
Bras gosh how i hate them i am a 40 G,yup i got fitted that G is for good God ..hopefully when i lose the weight some of that will go.away..
Have to stop at the store and get a couple things this morning...3 -
Bras- As a well endowed woman, I have no problems with wearing a bra. In my early twenties, I was a C cup and going braless made me feel like people, who were already looking at my most prominent feature, were getting an eyeful. Then when I had my kids they grew exponentially! Other women always told me "breastfeeding will make them get smaller". That's a big NOPE. So...here I sit with 38 E cups (I know if I lose some weight they will get smaller). They are still pretty high (not much sag). I am convinced it is the upperbody work out that I have daily (lifting children), plus some added free weight lifting that keeps them from dangling to knee level. Oh, I love the racer back style bras and sports bras. Most of my tops are racer back and it is a style that suits my body (broad shoulders, large chest).
Pip- Glad you made it safely "home". Can't wait to see your new digs!
Lisa- Levi
Sharon- What a gorgeous great grandbaby! Freya is a wonderful name!
BArbara - Sorry to hear of your nephew! Hugs and peace to you!
I have to scoot; have to get a couple of things done before the kids arrive (laundry folded and trash to the curb) AND I will have about five kiddos here by 8:00. Still have to fit my yoga in...ttfn xoxoxo KJ (Kelly)5 -
Echoing Kylia as the hurricane with too many vowels makes its way up the East Coast--please stay safe and dry, ladies...
After struggling to lose one single pound in July, I've dropped five pounds in four days - from 208 to 203. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to lose them... but my mental state would be more stable if it didn't go in fits and starts. Not sure why it's all dropping now--my exercise has been good, but the differences should be on the order of a pound lost over 4 days, not 5 pounds. My diet has remained largely the same-between 1400 and 1500 calories for all but one of those days.
It's a conundrum.
Non-scale victory:
Had to move my car seat forward to touch the gas and brake pedals yesterday. Means my backside is shrinking. I'll take it!
Regarding bras:
I definitely come down on the side of underwire being a torture device created by menfolk (as someone else said) to make us look Forever21. I was up around a 42DD when I weighed 300 pounds. After the gastric bypass, they pretty much deflated like a balloon with a slow leak, and I went from a 42DD to a 34 Long. At that point, I could roll them up with a spam key. There is also a permanent groove going over the top of each shoulder that my bra straps fit into, after 50-some years of wearing bras.
Now I wear Genie bras all day, somewhat smaller than is actually correct, because that way they provide support for the wobbly pair. Have to take the padding out, though, as I have to do a little origami to try to insert them correctly into the bra cups without spillage. I don't sleep with a bra, but it means my body yanks me awake when my husband rolls toward me, as he has accidentally squashed one or both of them quite thoroughly in the past.
Time to get the chores done. Sheets in the washer, fresh bread set to proof --hot dog buns and hamburger buns this morning for Corey's lunches. I will have to evict Egg from my lap first. Then a workout on the elliptical and whatever yard work needs doing.
Later y'all,
Love,

Sharon Congrats on that first great grand! That is awesome. Very cute. Smiling about your confession of 80's nudism. I was never a nudist but might as well have been with some of those scant sports bikinis I made and wore during the '70s and '80s.

Terri Never really thought about it but you could be right that men are designing sports bras. I have never seen a man in a sports bra, but I have seen some that could benefit from a sports bra.
Kylia The way "bra experts" determine cup size is so inaccurate and misleading. I measure 33" under boob and 36" bust which by their standards is a C cup. Yeah right! They never consider the over boob measure which is so important especially in us fit ladies that have developed muscle there.

We were expecting a big snow storm to roll in last night, and the northern part of the island did get that, but the southern didn't. And so I headed off to work.
Meanwhile, the storm swirled, and at 1 pm the rain began.
At 2:30 pm we were up to 8 mm of rain in the city, and snow settling around the city in the hills and rural area. Everyone southwest of the city was told to go home and not long after the highways out that way started to close.
At 3:45 pm we were up to 18.5 mm of rain in the city, and the main highway to the southwest closed entirely, and several bus routes stopped. I'm south of the city and at that point, I decided to go home. It was raining lightly when my bus pulled out of the city but halfway home we were hit with a wave of rain.
When I got home at about 4:45 pm, we were up to 24 mm of rain ... and a great long list of highways around the southern half of the island were closed because of snow. The south is cut off from the north right now.
By 5:30 pm, we were up to 27 mm of rain and the power was out in spots all over the place affecting about 30,000 customers. Ours stayed on!
It's 10 pm now and we're up to 36 mm of rain. 36 mm of rain in about 9 hours!
It has also been very windy and the swell is a roaring 3-4 metres. We can hear it crashing on the beach below!
Above 200 metres, it has been snowing steadily.
And it is supposed to continue through to morning.
I'm not sure if I'll be able to get to work tomorrow. Both routes to the city climb hills over 200 metres so they may be snowed under. One can only hope!

I used to go topless all the time on beaches and rivers. Naked on French rivers that were off the beaten track and on the Finnish lakes. In those days it was perfectly normal in Europe. Nowadays I am covered head to toe in Lycra. As so many wear wet suits nowdays, it doesn't look too weird.
My poor brother has had today's kidney op postponed, after 2 weeks complete isolation for the whole family. He was very upset, then they found him a slot for this Thursday. Relief!

BRAS ~ I absolutely hate them! I have now resorted to those stick on thingies that cover up the pointy parts. Someone on this chat mentioned them a long time ago and I found them on Amazon. Thankfully, they work most of the time as I don't have that much up top. Will wear a bra if I just have to.

Many good wishes going out for your brother. Hope it all goes well.
And... contrary to my previous statement, I did change something. I've faithfully been 17/7 intermittent fasting for five days now--less because I necessarily think it's effective, and more because if I don't eat breakfast, keeping my calories in the right range is much easier. But adhering to the IF might have jogged me off of July's stall. Just happy to see the scale headed the right direction.
Bread's proving, now for laundry on the line, and then some exercise--still debating between elliptical, yardwork, or both. Probably both.
Later y'all,
Love,

Ya'll have me in stitches, especially you Lisa .. lord I need a good laugh..
I cant wear genie or any of the.other kind,i need the over the shoulder boulder holder..my boss that passed away ,i said something about running and black eyes and he didn't understand, well i just pointed to the boobs and he turned 15 shades of red... oh it was hilarious...
I was thin and well endowed in my teens so i got alot of dates thinking they were gonna get to see em. No sir re bob..
I have taken the garbage out to the dumpster, stopped at the store and of course i forgot milk ugh.. will have to stop one more time, then went and picked up Homer ,have him here with me ,put all the plants in safe places outside and will take Alfie to the vet in a bit, having his teeth looked at to see if they need cleaning...then pick up Taliah and bring her here with me..and we will hunker down as Leslie Jordan says4 -
Poor Sasha had a digestive upset last evening and night which required that I take her out at 9,10,11,12,1, and 2. Miraculously I was able to go back to sleep in between. I am so fortunate that I don't have to drive anywhere or do anything very important today.
My morning walking friend is out of town for a few days so I'll be watering her garden for her this morning. She has a well organized system so what I do is turn on a hose, set a timer on my phone and walk Sasha til the timer goes off, then come back and do it again. There are four hoses so it will take about an hour which is less than I normally walk Sasha so it will fit in easily with our morning walk.
Impatience seems to be rampant with people driving too fast and people wanting to go out to do things that are far from essential and being pushy when they get there.
Today Jake has his video appointment with the cardiologist. I am so grateful that we don't have to go to Seattle to see the doctor. Jake has a blood pressure machine, a good thermometer, and an app on his phone to check his heart rate so he'll be taking his own vital signs in preparation for the appointment.

Getting it off my chest
That is how I feel about almost all sport bras that come in 5 sizes.
Think about it! A pattern is made for a small which is considered perfect for A cup women. Now it is reduced proportionally to make an extra small perfect for AA cup. Then the small is increased proportionally to make a medium perfect for that B-C cup and then large perfect for C-D cup. Extra-large for D -DD and if you are larger then tough titties for you, sorry about your bad luck.
So what is the problem you ask? Why do you have your panties in a twist, Faye? Simple, I say because women's under boob measure does not proportionally increase with breast size. Think about it! For example, my under measure is 33" and so is a friend, but my bust is 36" and hers is 46." We require the same band size but the bust size is drastically different. I can wear a large sports bra and in the days of necessary pads, I could store several days supply in the excess cup area, while my friend would be screaming in pain accusing Hitler of inventing the 5 sizes of sports bras all the while her breast either bludging out turning blue or being compressed with prejudice making a mammogram feel like happy hour with the girls.
I have made this presentation to companies in the past begging them to make compression sports bras like they do other lingerie bras and the responses were always from MEN telling me that size medium is my size and fits 28DDDD to 36B. Probably not even real men, just boys with their oversize puke awful shorts hanging down to their knees showing the world their sissy boxers while they swagger about looking like circus chimps. What is with all those chains? Anyway, trying to get a company to make sports bras for real natural women is futile. Yes, I know I could get a boob job and have my phony boobs busting out of your size large, but you could also pull up your pants and return your brain to your skull.
Every woman is unique. I seriously doubt that any woman has identical twins. One breast always seems to be larger. Hopefully, none of you suffer my one boob a cup size larger than the other syndrome. A bra that fits my biggest breast nicely would require two feminine napkins inserted on the other to get that Hollywood balance. I know you large breasted babes suffered some insults as teens, but make no mistake us girls of a lesser endowment didn't get a free pass. I mean things like, "Faye you need to call AAA." "Why?" "Because you need to get those flats changed." It was hurtful and led to bra stuffing and silly stupidity.
I wish my vision was good, my hands were more steady, and my attitude didn't suck. I would get a serger and start making real custom made to your measure sports bras. Ladies that have dabbled in this have all gone strictly to just swimwear or coped a bad attitude, threw their machine out the window, and either joined a nudist group and went braless for sports or suffered the cruel and unusual punishment of those ill-fitting generic commie slave labor made, mass-produced, butt ugly, sports bras.

Heather Awesome! Your confession makes me confess to windsurfing nude across the Snake River. Windsurfing topless happened more than once. Summertime spent in scant bikinis. Regretting those times every year when they remove skin cancer.
Carol Really? I saw those things! Even one that would make me a B cup, but something about it just didn't seem right. I decided braless was healthier.

Tracey: I have always enjoyed thunder and lightning--at a safe enough distance.
Machka: We had a relatively warm winter. No snow that I recall, but Covid Virus fell out of the sky, in a jet at PDX from China. Seattle got it at about the same time, different jet. Now everybody has it. :ohwell:
Pip: I hope that Bette is happy in its new home. You, too.
Kylia: GYN is no fun. I’ve chosen to have women doctors for GYN issues. In fact, DH & I both prefer women doctors for nearly all medical matters. They’re more thorough and communicate better than most of the male physicians we’ve ever had. DH’s male MS doctor is the exception. He is excellent.
Lisa: Congrats on your non-scale victory!!!
Machka: I’m glad you made it home safely and your power is on.
Heather: Sending good wishes for a successful surgery for your brother.
Allie: Enjoy your time with Taliah. I’m a bit envious. My grandchildren are far away. :ohwell:

Did Strong Sexy and Skinny DVD. The plan for tomorrow is to do a Dressed Up Drills DVD.
Katla – I can’t wear an underwire bra. It hurts my chest too much. I’m so small that I absolutely have to have a padded bra. What is the advantage of washing clothes in cold water? Do you also wash sheets in cold water? Unfortunately, we can’t hang our clothes outside. I always loved how the clothes smelled when I was able to hang them outside
Lisa – I figure that having to go to the bathroom helps increase my steps. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
Put down weed killer by the pool. Now we shall see how long it takes to work. Lowes no longer carries the type of weed killer I normally used but this guy who said he works for the city told me that he used another one and it worked well. So we shall see.
Heather – whenever I’m asked if I drink enough water, I just say “you name the store and I can tell you where the bathroom is”
Carol GA – will the grands be going to school every day of the week? I know around here they’re talking about the kids going to the physical school two days out of the week and doing it at home the other three
Krussell – welcome! You became a member by posting! Easy peasy, huh?
Sharon Seattle – Freya is so cute. Thanks for sharing the pics. When will you get to see her?
I can’t go too long on the rowing machine. All the ones at the gym have hard plastic seats and after a while that starts to bother me
All this talk about bras reminded me of a joke: a teenager was going to go out but she wasn’t wearing a bra. Her grandmother was aghast! She told her grandmother: “these are my rosebuds”. Well, the next day the grandmother came downstairs not wearing a bra and the teenager was aghast. Her grandmother said “if people can see your rosebuds, then they can see my hanging baskets”
Kylia OH – whenever I had to get a cortisone shot for the trigger finger, I usually had to close my eyes and I made this face like you wouldn’t believe it burned so much. And I have a high tolerance for pain.
Sunny here today. Fortunately, we are so far inland that we didn’t get affected by the hurricane.
Pip – glad you had a safe trip. Can’t wait for pics
M – stay safe. This won’t last forever (unlike it feels like this CV will)
Jess is having some sort of video conference the next few days. We’re going to have sushi today, Vince will have meatloaf.
Going to get dinner ready to be microwaved (except Jess’) then into the pool.

Heather: My all time favorite children’s author is Arthur Ransome. His Amazons & Swallows children’s books are fabulous. All are set in British lakes & rivers with one adventure to Holland. The children are adventurers & sailors. Edie & her brothers might enjoy them.❤️2

Isaias just passed through. We had tornadoes close by, so we sat in the basement for awhile. But no damage yet. We will get a few more hours of heavy rain and wind.

Katla - My elder son adored the Swallows and Amazons series. He read and reread them all. I read the first one as an adult and the far too saintly mother annoyed me so much I didn’t read anymore. We used to holiday very near Coniston and know it well.
There is a very good biography of Arthur Ransome that I have read, THE LAST ENGLISHMAN - the double life of Arthur Ransome. The family was a real family that he adored. He was also a spy in Russia or a Russian spy, whichever!

All this bra talk is making me spit my coffee and laugh! But so true! All of it!!
Going nude or topless..... done both in the 70’s and 80’s.
Bras—- absolutely hate underwire. Can’t find a spirts bra that fits right. Not that big so prefer bra less until a propane delivery guy just recently commented and complimented me on not wearing one in front of my DH! First time that happened!! I was both embarrassed and proud of myself! Weird feeling! DH was turning red and ready to punch the guy! Lol 😂
RV Rita still prefer bra less at B/C cup5 -
Karen VA ~ What a beautiful deck you have with all the greenery and flowers overlooking a body of water.
Sharon ~ Your great granddaughter is lovely.
Lisa ~ Levi is a cutie pie.
Barbara ~ Prayers for your nephew. That sounds really bad and I hope medical science and prayer will be able to help him.
