    What’s the biggest difference in rack pulls and a full dead for you?

    What’s the biggest difference in rack pulls and a full dead for you?

    Honestly not much as far as maxes/reps/etc. I’d say about a 10# difference based on a 5x5. Max wise I would say they are even but lockout is easier on the rack pull.

    I’ve recently set a goal to participate in a strongman competition that is about 1.5 years out. (This years was cancelled due to COVID). I do a squat variation and a Deadlift variation at least 3 times a week each. I work the rack pulls in to try and simulate an axle deadlift height.


    Awesome thanks for the insight. I tend to stick with rack pulls to avoid the extreme bend in the lower back. Good luck in your competition brother.
