    I changed my way of eating to generally lower calories the first week of August, 2021 when I visited with a nutritionist connected with my doctor's practice. I've lost weight lotsof times before (WW twice and NutriSystem, -84 pounds) but after I got hit with Lupus and some pretty harsh meds to get that under control, my weight went way up. It took 15 years of med changes and small other changes to get to 192 pounds, which is where I started on MFP on August 13, 2021. Since then I've lost 7 pounds, which isn't so bad for someone my age. I was interested to see this thread for people with a goal of losing 30 pounds, which would put me at about the weight I was when I finished with NutriSystem at the time I got married in 1992. I'd be satisfied with that. I'm two inches shorter than I was then, thanks to arthritis and age, so by rights I should probably aim for a lower weight. I'm finding I don't have much trouble staying under my calorie target these days. It must be because I'm older, because it certainly wasn't the case when I was younger! Believe me, getting that warning message that you're not eating enough to meet your nutritional needs is a jolt I never expected to experience. It doesn't speed my weight loss, either. I love to cook and after almost 60 years of dieting, I'm pretty inventive when it comes to making tasty dishes, whether they're low carb or low fat. Onward and downward, everyone!

    I did the WW program back before I had kids… 24 years ago… and got down to 145… but I stopped tracking and watching what I ate… then babies… then boom I was up to 234 pounds. Now I’m at 213.7 and slowly and steadily losing by logging and weighing everyday and trying to get 7,000 or more steps a day.

    Well, at least it's down a little. The voices in my head are gleefully informing me what a loser I am... and not in a good way. :neutral: Hopefully those numbers will keep going down and I will actually be a "good" loser.

    It's been an entire month since I last posted. And I'm pleasantly surprised that I lost 1.4lbs because I've eaten many, many chocolate bars this past month (I call them my emergency chocolate). The manager of the apartment finally came by to check on the state of affairs... And immediately evacuated us due to health concerns(and, frankly legal concerns). So almost everything is out of the apartment and in storage, while husband, I, and lovebug are staying at our friends' house until mid-October. God bless beautiful friends because staying in a hotel for 6 weeks would have been dreadful.

    In mid-October we expect to close on our first house! 🏡

    If I can manage to stay on top of not overeating and throw in some exercise, my end of year goal is still in sight. Barely but still there. That said, I honestly think I'll be pretty pleased if I at least hit 145 instead of 140 due to all the extra stress. Usually during stressful periods, I gain weight pretty quickly so a slow loss is a welcome change of pace.

    I hope this isn't a fluke. I'm running again. And, believe you me, I am using that word very loosely. I only go out once a week. This week, I ran/walked just shy of 7 miles on Saturday and rode my bike for 10.5 miles or so on Sunday. I really, truly need to start doing something during the week. But, I'm doing something right, eh? :)

    I know that I've put on at least 5 pounds since I weighed in last week. We'll see how it looks in the morning. It was a *kitten* week. Monday morning, a hole and leak in the hallway. Monday night at the ER with my daughter. Tuesday was meh... daughter had to go back to ER ("prescribed" visit for an ultrasound so she wouldn't have to pay for a second visit). Wednesday she had an endoscopy. Thursday, the maintenance people came about the hole and leak and it was discovered there was a worse leak over one of my daughter's closets and a good portion of the dresses in there were soaked, one is probably ruined beyond repair, and her skating competition tapes were soaked and podium photographs were damaged. She had a meltdown. Go figure. Friday, I was exposed to COVID. I'm vaccinated and most of the time we were at least 6' apart and masked. She did remove her mask for a short time, but again, 6' apart. However, when the hearing was over, she and I left the courtroom and rode the elevator together. CDC says I don't have to quarantine, but do have to wear my mask continuously, and should be tested 3-5 days after exposure. So, I'm going to check into testing tomorrow at lunch time. Sadly, I'm still an emotional/stress eater and, yeah, I ate. And I haven't done any real exercise in a week. Blah. I know I keep saying this, but I really need to get my head out of my @$$ and get back on track. Maybe October will be my month. :(

    Not quite three pounds up. Better than I thought, actually. Endoscopy results showed gastritis, which they biopsied, and, luckily, that came back from the lab, it was negative for stomach cancer. Still waiting on the results from the ultrasound. I suspect that since we haven't heard anything, that was probably negative for everything they were looking for.

    Tested negative this morning. That's a relief to me. Onwards and upwards (well, hopefully downwards on the scale).
