Way to go, Jill! That's fantastic.

I log every day. Log every thing. It keeps me aware on what I'm doing wrong. Hahahah! I see just where I'm messing up and what I need to eliminate. One of these days, I may do just that.

It's my birthday week and I'm not getting any younger here. :( I have got to get my act together. I log every day. I weigh in every day. I don't exercise as much as I should, tending to only really do things on the weekends. And I eat more than I should. It may be "healthier" choices for much of *what * I'm eating, but I mostly eyeball my food and say, "Yeah, that looks like x amount." So, portions, some less than optimal food choices, and not enough movement/exercise.... those are my challenges.

@jm216, Jill, we've got this. And if we don't hit the 30 by the end of the year, we keep on working on it until we do, right? Right.

Absolutely…we just keep on going! Like pink Energizer bunnies!

    Happy Belated Birthday Week!

    Hi Everyone!

Excited (from the rooftop Jill :D ), to share that I dropped 3.8 pounds this week. 😄

Happy to report that I dropped a few pounds.

    Goal for December 31st, 2021: 275lbs

    08/18/21: 312
    08/25/21: 308
    09/01/21: 304.2

Hope everyone find joy in their journey this week. 😀

    You are on fire! 🔥
What are you doing to achieve this amazing success?! Please share. 👏🥰

Thanks Jill! 😃 I think there are a few things helping me along:
    1. I have an accountability partner to ensure I don't skip breakfast or start the day by eating junk food.
    2. I have another accountability partner for dinner.
    3. I joined the challenge to not indulge in late night snacking. Keeping my streak intact has become more important to me, than a late night nibble.
    4. When I go walking, I have fun with it. I sing and dance. I don't care what the neighbors think. I'm just having fun. When I have fun, it doesn't seem like exercise.
    5. I am being more mindful of why I am eating. I try to identify if I am hungry, bored, or if it is an emotional response. Then I try to respond in an appropriate way.

So far, I think these things have helped me.

It’s Friday morning and it’s 48 degrees this morning. It’s supposed to get up to 73 degrees. I think I’ll go for a quick, invigorating bike ride this morning before work. I’ll let you know how it goes.

It was over 70º when I left for work just after 6 this morning. We won't get as cool as you are until late November probably. It's currently (around 1:30) 101º according to my computer. I'm looking forward to the cooler weather. And good job on the bike ride!

This morning it’s 61 to start and will get up to 82 degrees this afternoon. Today McKenna is having her Senior pictures taken…🥲…why do they have to grow up so fast?

Honey, mine are 33 and 31. I don't know how that can be when I'm only 30. Hahahahahah! I'm staring at my kids' senior portraits as I'm writing this and, seriously, I still think of them as younger than they were in those photos. But they're adults now. It's just not right.

I changed my way of eating to generally lower calories the first week of August, 2021 when I visited with a nutritionist connected with my doctor's practice. I've lost weight lotsof times before (WW twice and NutriSystem, -84 pounds) but after I got hit with Lupus and some pretty harsh meds to get that under control, my weight went way up. It took 15 years of med changes and small other changes to get to 192 pounds, which is where I started on MFP on August 13, 2021. Since then I've lost 7 pounds, which isn't so bad for someone my age. I was interested to see this thread for people with a goal of losing 30 pounds, which would put me at about the weight I was when I finished with NutriSystem at the time I got married in 1992. I'd be satisfied with that. I'm two inches shorter than I was then, thanks to arthritis and age, so by rights I should probably aim for a lower weight. I'm finding I don't have much trouble staying under my calorie target these days. It must be because I'm older, because it certainly wasn't the case when I was younger! Believe me, getting that warning message that you're not eating enough to meet your nutritional needs is a jolt I never expected to experience. It doesn't speed my weight loss, either. I love to cook and after almost 60 years of dieting, I'm pretty inventive when it comes to making tasty dishes, whether they're low carb or low fat. Onward and downward, everyone!
